Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome into the Ravens Press Pass Podcast. The Ravens took
down the New York Jets twenty three to ten at
Mty Bay Stadium to win their fifth straight game and
approved to six and five on the season. After the game,
we had a chance to hear from head coach John Harbaugh.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Okay, great win, uh, against a tough opponent who is
ready to play, very well, coached, very hard, playing very talented,
very talented team. And you saw it out there today.
So really proud of our guys. Uh. The message the
message this week, all right? The verse message was, uh
was from from Psalm twenty three and yeay, though I
walk through the valley the shadow of death, I shall
(00:39):
fear no evil, for you were with me. And Uh,
I feel like that's that's the way the story with
the game went. It's the way the story of the
season has gone.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
In a sense.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
The first half was tough and uh and and they
did a really good job and uh, our guys kept
fighting even to the end of the second quarter. And
then UH we got we got the lead, and UH,
you know, we were nobody flinched. We came out, we
had three straight scoring drives and we took the game
over in the third quarter and into the fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
We played really well.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
So but a couple of things to jump out of
me right away is the punt team, all right, start
with Jordan Stout and the punt coverage guys. That kept
us in the game, probably because we were backed up
field position wise, we averaged the twenty. We were backed
up inside the ten once or twice two. You know,
they had done a good job of their punt team,
(01:27):
the kickoffs and all the different things. They moved the
ball a couple of times, and we were backed up offensively,
and that made it tough against that defense. And then
our punt team would bail us out and push them
all the way back inside the twenty a couple of
times inside the ten, and they even at the five late.
I mean, that punt at the end of the game
is unbelievable. So I think I think our punt team
in a lot of ways kept us in and was
the difference maker in the game. And Chris Horton deserved
(01:49):
so much credit for that. Chris Horton has done a
great job. This is a young group that was the
number one rank special teams in the league coming in
here and Chris Horton had those guys ready. Man, he
had those guys ready in every face and you can
see how good they were, how dangerous they were, kickoff
return and everything else. Got the big kickoff return to
Keaton that got that scoring drive started in the second quarter.
So really proud of that, I thought, Chris. I just
want to make sure we mentioned what a great job
(02:10):
Chris has done with those guys. And then those young guys. Man,
it's a bunch of young guys, a bunch of a
bunch of guys that compete and get after it and
fight and practice hard every day. So proud of those guys.
All right, what questions you have?
Speaker 4 (02:21):
How does it feel after you know, starting off one
in five now five Street wins and with the Steelers losing.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
Today, you're tied the top of the AS and North day.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Well, it feels great.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
It feels great, But it's just it's halfway done, you know.
You know it's not over. You know, season's not over.
Game game wasn't over. Season's not over. And we play four.
We played the Steelers twice and we play the Bengals
twice in the next few weeks. So that's going to
be it right there, you know, and starting Thursday night,
we've got no time really to rest. We've got to
go to work on the Bengals and uh and we
(02:52):
know what that's like, so how challenging that is.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
So we're ready. We'll be ready to go.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
Hey, John's speaking of the short week.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
Do you we saw Kyle Hamil to limp off the
lot I can be of an update on him.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Kyle is not a serious it's not a serious injury.
Tavian also limped off. We'll have to evaluate that one.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
We'll know more tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
John.
Speaker 7 (03:11):
It's another week of I mean, Lamar is such a
high standard guy. And then but it's another week where
he's not played the way we're used to seeing him
play at the MVP level, you know, being close to him,
do you characterize this as sort of some things he's
working through. What's your confidence that he'll get back to
the level we've seen about.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
I have you?
Speaker 2 (03:30):
I have such thanks for asking Matt. Thanks, it's a
great and I like the way he asked it. To
appreciate it. Utmost confidence in Lamar Jackson, you know, always
will He's my guy, he's our guy, he's our quarterback
and Lamar's doing what he needs to do. You know,
he's winning football games, and you know, it's not always pretty.
I don't know how many times in the last however
(03:50):
many years we've had wins like this where we've gotten
up here and said, you know, it's not pretty, it's
not perfect, but it's us. You know, it's us competing
and fighting, and that's what Lamar's doing. The pretty games
will be there. They'll be there for Lamar Jackson, you
bet on that. But I'm proud of him right now.
I'm really proud of him the ways the way he's uh,
the way he's fighting to win football games.
Speaker 8 (04:11):
John, how big was the fourth and two stop the
third quarter?
Speaker 5 (04:16):
Big kind of ship momentum.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
So big, I mean they you know, they went after
Nate a little hitch stop there and he just played
it perfectly. Technique was any challenge a young corner sometimes
his technique, his eyes, those kind of things, and he
played it beautifully.
Speaker 9 (04:29):
John.
Speaker 6 (04:29):
Early in the game, you guys had fourth in inches,
you run and punt team out, you called time out,
and then you.
Speaker 5 (04:35):
Brought the offense back on. It was that a case
where Lamar Jackson talked to you now or was that
a plane all along?
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Well, I did see his facial expression. I will have
to admit this to that. But really what it was,
it was shorter than we thought, you know, just it
seemed a little longer for whatever reason. On the spot
we thought, and you know, it was really a situation
where were probably punting everything unless it was inches, and
it turned out to be about well then it looked
like about three inches. But then they spotted it right
before the field go the right snap, and I'm like.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
It's like a half a yard.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
I think they moved it back again, you know, but
we got it, you know, and so I thought that
was that was awesome. That was big went down?
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Was it was it a hard decision to make the
call to go with it on the Henry run, you know,
to go for that situation versus field.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
It was, it was it was a tough call, and
uh we just decided that that the downside of leaving
him backed up there would be okay, would be okay.
But uh, that was a tough call not taking the
points for the sure points.
Speaker 8 (05:31):
Especially with Marlin coming off the finger surgery, giving that
game situation.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
How big was the force funnel going inside.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
The fo I mean Marlin and then of course low
coming up with the ball. But Marlin to get that
ball out, I don't know how he did it because
we were reeling a little bit. They had us on
our heels, you know, uh they were they were running
the ball that had made some places, we missed some tackles.
And then he comes up. He comes up just huge.
I mean, that's to me, it's like, that's that's the
lion spike right there. That's the lion spike of the
game right there. Then the pass rush, you know, how
about the pass rush. I thought those guys bring it
(06:01):
in on the pass rush was good. Now I'm disappointing
the fact that he, you know, Tyrod got out, but
we knew that, you know, he's a hard guy to
get down. That was pretty much a lot of their
offense was him scrambling around and making plays on the run.
But but we got him down and we got some pressure,
especially at the end of the fourth quarter. Fourth quarter
pass rush is a big deal.
Speaker 10 (06:16):
You caution that, you know season is not over yet,
but to get back to this point, well even before Thanksgiving,
where everything is still in front of you, from where
you were at one and five, what sort of stands
out to you about your.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
Ability to do that.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
I think it's what we talked about before. I think
that that that faith and guts and the idea that
guys are. You know, you walk through all these things
and it just it makes you stronger and build you
into what you need to be, you know, and hopefully
that's the type of team that we are becoming. And
we still have a whole bunch of games left, you
know that, to fight through, and they're all gonna be
tough games. Every single one of them will be like this.
The rest of the season is gonna be tough, so
(06:50):
we're gonna have to be tough also, we're gonna be
tough enough to deal with it. But the passwords, how
about Dre on the two sacks, you know, two sacks,
coming up with those sacks and getting him on the ground late,
that was huge.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
Kind of follow up on what you're just talking about.
Speaker 11 (07:02):
I know you're a one game at a time type guy,
but I mean that being.
Speaker 7 (07:06):
Said, you look at the schedule for the next three
weeks Bengals, Steelers, Bengals, I mean, is there sort of
a different juice to the portion of the schedule you're
getting into where these division games are going to be
really tough.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
I don't know if i'd say different juice, because I
think the juice has been there every single week. I mean,
I couldn't you can't. You couldn't underestimate or under calculate
the juice that's going into these games and the fact
that our guys have what it takes to come to
bring it again. Like row rocol was talking to the
team in the locker room and the final break about
that very thing this week against the Bengals, and it's
(07:37):
just the Bengals. It's the Bengals on Thursday night.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Derek Henry.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
I think he's now up to twelve on the all
time ago. I think he pressed Marcus Allen Edward James.
Speaker 11 (07:46):
I know you're not to think about a time watching
him run, but is it kind of interesting to see a.
Speaker 5 (07:50):
Guy, you know, just every yard he's moving up.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Kind of the NFL issue it is, it is you
start running out of game balls. You know, how many
game boys can you give them?
Speaker 4 (07:57):
You know?
Speaker 2 (07:57):
So we will wait till he cracks the top ten.
I don't know, but he's going to get more yards
and then you know, having having players like that on
your team, you know, and this guy sitting right here
is in the same category. But or like DeAndre Hopkins,
you know, he's going after his thousandth catch. You know,
thought about trying to get him his thousandth catch there too,
you know, but it won't have to do that. It's coming,
(08:18):
you know, it'll be there Thursday night. So seeing those
guys played and being a part of that their careers
is really cool.
Speaker 12 (08:25):
And last year there were struggles with special with special
teams and penalties.
Speaker 5 (08:30):
You know, this year through.
Speaker 12 (08:31):
Twelve weeks, you guys are probably top five, top ten
in both those categories. Just how helpful can that be
to a team like this going through a some ups
and downs and just you know, what does it like
to see it kind of come out on the field today.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Such a good observation because that's a difference maker. You know,
we are I don't know how many penalties we had today.
It wasn't very many, and we are I think we're fourth,
you know or something like that, and at least amount
of penalties. I'm really proud of our guys for that.
Tony Mahlex done a great job for us. But everybody.
You know, he's done a great job and special teams
is today was a big challenge for the special teams.
That was it was a red letter game, the old
(09:04):
red letter game. You know, Michigan used to have red
letter games. Ohio State was one of them. And uh
and this was a red letter game for our special
teams and they really came up big coach.
Speaker 13 (09:13):
Going back to Jordan, I mean, he did have a
career all today and he talked about how he just
feels more comfortable and like he's flowing out there.
Speaker 10 (09:21):
How have you seen him repressed now that.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
He's in your four That's such a good question. I mean,
he has made a big jump. He's made a big
jump this year, and I think he's kind of found himself.
Sometimes you got to figure out, like what type of
a punter am I going to be? And I think
he's really punting toward it to his strengths. Seventy one
yard average, I mean seventy one yard punt. I think
it might be the sixth longest.
Speaker 13 (09:40):
In history averages the longest.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Age sixty one point five average, six longest since nineteen sixty.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Yeah that you were you born in nineteen sixty I
was not born yet. I was not.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
I was not.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
That's probably why I asked that question.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Look at Cliff. Oh there we go, got a count
back there.
Speaker 6 (10:06):
Seventy four yarder was the longest, tied Sam Cook for.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
The longest ever by by the Ravens. Right, Sam and
had seventy four yard You know Sam because he said, Sam,
right now you're still you're still number You're tied for
number one.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Sam.
Speaker 6 (10:18):
What Jordano you said over the four years you've just seen,
he's like he was under a lot of pressure coming
to feel coming off Sam Cook, Right, I mean how
he's handled that over the time the last four years.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
I think that's exactly right, you know.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
And sam'ser credit too, because Sam's been working with him,
you know, work with him for you know, his first
couple of years here and still talks to.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Him all the time.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
So yeah, it's it's uh, it's cool, cool to see,
all right.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Thanks.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Next, we heard from quarterback mar Jackson.
Speaker 8 (10:50):
Mark after a one to five start, five strag winds
and now you're the Raves are hide with the.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
Steelers atop the afs the first place.
Speaker 14 (10:59):
Yeah, just how does that feel to go from one
one extreme to now be in first place.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Uh feel great.
Speaker 15 (11:05):
You know, wish we was in a better situation, you know,
but uh five five.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
And oh keep we gotta just keep it going.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
Man.
Speaker 15 (11:13):
Uh it's a tough division, tough league. Like I said,
we just gotta keep go.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
Marble white. Why couldn't you guys get a rolling in
the first half.
Speaker 15 (11:24):
T need to execute better a lot of things, you know,
I feel, uh, you just gotta put points on the board.
Speaker 16 (11:32):
Man.
Speaker 15 (11:32):
Our defense plan likes ot for the last few weeks,
started s playing good in Miami, you know. Uh, but
the last few weeks, I feel like we need to
put on points on the board and execute drives.
Speaker 17 (11:43):
Does it get frustrating to see what the defense has
done from the start they have.
Speaker 18 (11:47):
Especially the last five or six games, and then.
Speaker 17 (11:49):
Special teams as well, to not get that complete dominant
team win from your.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
Side of the ball.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Uh yeah, uh a little bit, cause you know, it's
it's our job.
Speaker 6 (11:58):
You know.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
I'm I'm a offensive guy. You know, I'm not playing defense.
Speaker 15 (12:01):
It's it's great to see how defense playing great, but
it it also feel great and look great when we
plan as well, you know, to match their energy and
we just need to do that. You know we can
week out cause those guys stepping up, we need to
do the same thing.
Speaker 7 (12:12):
Wright has Has there been a game yet since you
come back from injury where you kind of feel like, Okay,
I'm fully myself, I'm fully healthy, I'm fully ready to
compete the way you know we've seen you compete over
the last few years.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Uh.
Speaker 15 (12:25):
I can't call it, you know, but uh my del so,
I feel like I should still be able to do
what I do.
Speaker 8 (12:31):
How much did the ankle bother you at all today?
I mean, and it was obviously taped up a good bit,
But did you hinder you at all?
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Nah?
Speaker 15 (12:38):
I it was just pretty solid, you know, for the
most part, it was pretty solid.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
Solamark.
Speaker 18 (12:45):
Do do you feel injuries or holding you back or
holding this offense back in a way because you're not aim.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Nah, I don't think that at all.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
You know.
Speaker 15 (12:51):
I feel like we just need to execute, you know,
uh a lot better. We get in a great field position,
but we're not putting points on the board. You know
that have nothing to do no injury. You just need
to put points on the ball.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Right there.
Speaker 7 (13:02):
When when you guys kind of struggled from the outset
was you obviously went to zay a bunch after that?
Speaker 5 (13:07):
What was did that help you find the rhythm throwing
the ball?
Speaker 15 (13:12):
I feel like we found a rhythm running the ball
as well. You know Darren Henroll hitting gaps. Keaton had one,
even though it got called back later in the game.
But I feel like when we playing how we play
on our level, everything looks good.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
You know.
Speaker 8 (13:26):
Why why do you think you you guys have what's
like what's held you back.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
From executing on offense? Do you think it at least
for today?
Speaker 3 (13:32):
What do you think you guys back? Uh?
Speaker 15 (13:34):
Some miss opportunities sometime, you know, uh, weaknesses in the defense.
I feel like we should take advantage of that. We
we just did.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
Okay thanks to learn.
Speaker 19 (13:49):
X up.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
We heard from linebacker Roquan Smith.
Speaker 11 (13:53):
Points obviously first first few games, a little bough what
what has happened?
Speaker 20 (13:58):
What?
Speaker 5 (13:58):
Why is that term happened? Where you guys are just
six trin games been among the NFL's backs.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
I think it's just a combination of us coming together collectively. Defense.
I feel like we're playing we know what each other where,
we know where each other's going to be playing and
play out and hats south to ze O and the
staff been making great game plan. So I just think
it's a combination of that and just guys just playing
together and like putting it all on the line for
one another.
Speaker 11 (14:24):
Are you I mean, are you proud that you guys
are an out tied for person in the division given
where you were six weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
Yeah, you can. You can't really focus on the past.
You only can just focus on going forward in the
moment right now. And that's something that we've been like prioritizing, like, hey,
it's the moment right now. Forget what has happened. You
remember it, but you can't focus on the dwell on it.
And we just know we control our destiny. But we
knew that weeks ago, regardless of the spot that we're in,
we knew we controlled our destiny. So that's what it's
(14:52):
all about. And we just got to continue to play
our Brandon football weekend and week out.
Speaker 7 (14:57):
Marlin had that strip obviously the goal line, and you
guys have been so good.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
I think it's nine turnovers of the last five games.
Speaker 11 (15:05):
You guys have gotten what's changed in the ability to
get turnovers? And are certain vats on this team sort
of mindful of these moments where you really need one.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
Yeah, absolutely hats off to Marlin. Yeah on that play man,
that was a heck of a play. He always tends
to step up in critical moments, so glad to have
him back out there, obviously. And yeah, it's something that
the coach has been preaching as well as the players.
And granted, the dbs have been getting a lot of
turnovers and those guys have been doing a lot of
punching at the ball as well, So it's something that
we all got to continue just to work on, including
(15:40):
myself linebackers D line when we coming in a lot
of more often than not, when you're the second man
in tho, you have those opportunities. And I think that's
just something at the forefront, something that the coaches echoed
throughout the week. And there's some things, you know, like
different like the bats and things of that nature that
we get to get and just how you get recognized
for getting those turnovers. I think that's something that every
(16:01):
guy wants to get on that board for that and
it's something that we just have to keep honing in
on and getting more. And we know that turnovers wins games,
so just got to continue to keep getting the ball
in the offense hands one another.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
This has always been a confident defense, but when you're
playing the way that you have and putting together consistent
games week after we you sense the confidence getting even
greater on this unit.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Yeah, man, I think it's just a bunch of dudes
that are willing to go out there and put it
all on the line for one another. And like the
communication is like outstanding throughout the week and it echoes
throughout the game. So when we're all on the same
page and we have the talent, So the talent is there,
and then the communication once you have that, and then
when you have the mindset willing to put your face
in the fan every single play, and like you have
(16:42):
those type of guys, it's not worried about me, me, me,
me me, and more like us US US, And like
when you have that, man, it's the perfect combination for
like a really good defense. But I think we're just
on our way to where we're going and it's just
another step in the road and great win in today.
But on the Cincinnati.
Speaker 8 (17:00):
At down seven, you guys are down seven to three,
kind of a rock fight in that in that first half.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
What does it do for you guys to win.
Speaker 8 (17:08):
Kind of a game like that where everything's maybe not
smooth offensively and you got to come up that big
fourth down stop and the third to win those sort
of lack of better way to put a hundred games.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
Yeah, absolutely, I think you just have to control what
you can control, and as a defense, the only thing
you can control is what product you go out and
put on the field. We can't focus on what the
offense is doing. I got a lot of respect for
our offense. No, our offense is gonna continue to keep
putting up points. But at the end of the day,
it's about us on defense. So it's about us eleven
coming together and making sure that a team because at
the end of the day, a team don't score, they
(17:42):
don't win. Like having that mindset right there. But obviously
it's the NFL as well, so guys are gonna make plays.
But it's about wiping the wiping the lens cleans and
especially like myself missing that sack, like I hated it,
you know, suck, you know, but at the end of
the day, it's like it happened. It's the NFL. He's
a tough tackle, in the pocket some times, but I
have to make that play and gotta just wipe the
(18:03):
lands cleans. And you can't like just dwell on plays
that you miss, like cause team's gonna hit plays. And
it's about just us going out and being who we
are playing and play out. But one touchdown normally is
not gonna uh win a game. So it's about just
being consistent play in and play out.
Speaker 7 (18:16):
Bro uh John was alluding to some comments made in
the locker room after.
Speaker 5 (18:20):
The game altctangles.
Speaker 7 (18:21):
I guess can you tell us a little bit about
what you told the team about the upcoming game or
the upcoming slave.
Speaker 19 (18:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
No, at the end of the day, we just have
to focus one game at a time. I just basically
told the guys, you know, enjoy this for a couple
of hours and then, like I know myself, it's like
i'm'a watch the game, make the corrections, and then it's
like tonight I'll be watching uh Cincinnati in a sense,
so it's about just preparing knowing that it's gonna be
a a really, a really tough match. It's at home,
Like it's the NFL. Every game is tough. Those guys
(18:48):
gonna come out got a really good offense, so excited
about the match up, and it's just gonna be another
opportunity for us as a defense to just go out
and show exactly who we are. Play in and play out.
Speaker 7 (18:56):
Do you have any strong memories of watching football and Thanksgiving?
Speaker 5 (19:00):
Do you feel any type of way about playing this?
Speaker 4 (19:01):
Yeah, no, it's pretty special. It's pretty special. And honestly, shoot,
I've been watching football on Thanksgiving all like since I
was a kid, like growing up and always watching you know,
the Cowboys always played on Thanksgiving, the Lions. Then being
in Chicago playing the Lions just about every year on Thanksgiving,
and like it's just something that that's really my Thanksgiving because,
like truth be told, I don't think I've had a
(19:23):
Thanksgiving with family since like seventeen years old. So like
when you think about it like that, it's like that's
all I really know football on Thanksgiving. So it'll be
pretty sweet, man, looking forward to it. Obviously, we're gonna
be home, so we got to protect our home by
any means necessary, and like it's gonna be an awesome game.
Looking forward to a hostile environment for sure.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Yep, Locker room today, we heard from a number of players,
including hunter Jordan Stout, who had an epic performance. He
averaged sixty one and a half yards per punt, also
had a seventy four yard punt, which is the Ravens
franchise record. Times Sam Cook for that record. So here's
(20:03):
what Stout had to say after the game ween today,
what was the plan for punts?
Speaker 6 (20:09):
What we're seeing out there?
Speaker 19 (20:10):
Oh man?
Speaker 21 (20:12):
So first punt we go out there, there's a little
win at their back. I had a boomerang, goes really well.
I mean he gets a few yards on the return.
After that, like Randy had said pregame that the wind
is going to be doing a lot of stuff today,
a lot of different things, and that's.
Speaker 19 (20:25):
Not really normal. Usually it's like pretty consistent.
Speaker 21 (20:28):
And you know that second point the seventy four yard
aer wind was in my face like heavy, and I
mean it's just human nature.
Speaker 19 (20:37):
Like I was nervous, like I.
Speaker 21 (20:38):
Really didn't want to be in that punt, but I
don't know, it's it got up in the air and
then like it caught like a little air pocket and
it just flew. So it's our stadium is really funky,
but I'm glad it was today.
Speaker 8 (20:49):
What wasn't mean knowing you're consistently living fled position for
this team.
Speaker 21 (20:53):
Yeah, I mean, I'm just happy that I'm helping.
Speaker 19 (20:55):
You know, I feel like a lot of time.
Speaker 21 (20:57):
As a punter, it's easy to feel like you're not
like making a huge contribution to the team because I
mean I could hit a ninety five yard punt down
to the one and then they score a touchdown, but
like when the defense stops them and I feel like
it's because of me, and guys are coming up. So
he's like, hey, that was you Like, it means so much,
Like that's like what makes you love the game.
Speaker 19 (21:15):
That's what makes me love punting.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
So yeah, actually heard from cornerback Marlon Humphrey Maryland.
Speaker 22 (21:23):
To get a turnover not just you know, anytime you
forced to turn over it's a big deal, but to
do it at that moment they're going in they can
make it a one score game at that you know,
late in the game. To have that kind of impact
at that moment, what's that like?
Speaker 3 (21:33):
Yeah, it was huge.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
I think some of the players and.
Speaker 23 (21:36):
The coaches were like, boy, that was that was that
was major because you know it coul would have been a
one score game. You know, it could have gave them
some hope. They had already kind of got a little
bit of success, so it was major to make that
play in that moment.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Marylin's you guys not turned the phage to to Thursday.
Speaker 16 (21:51):
You're expecting to see Joe Just kind of what's going
through your mind, Bengals coming up coming here with her.
Speaker 23 (21:56):
Yeah, man, I want to have the best Thanksgiving of
my life. Then it would be you know, it'd be
great if Joe brow just waiting another week.
Speaker 19 (22:03):
But even if he.
Speaker 23 (22:04):
Is out there, you know, it's it'll be great to
get the best of the Bengals. You know, with Joe
being out there, I know the type of competitor and
he is.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
He's a really cool guy.
Speaker 23 (22:14):
Like you know, the offseason seem of the Pro Bowl
and different things, but on the field, he's you know,
he clips that switch on and you know you're gonna.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
Get his best.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
So it's it's out. It would be a good Thanksgiving matchup.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Next up, we heard from outside linebacker Draymont Jones, who
had one and a half sacks on the day.
Speaker 7 (22:34):
There was when you first got here, there was a
lot of talko.
Speaker 20 (22:36):
You know, he was he had a great stretch kinnesseee
and can that transition mid season to Baltimore Field?
Speaker 5 (22:41):
How good at your field?
Speaker 4 (22:41):
Daylight today? So really good?
Speaker 24 (22:43):
I like the free past two games. I've just missed
a ton it out of me and then I got
home today at home. So my first game as a
Raven at home, So that was that was fun.
Speaker 22 (22:53):
You were held on those guys ankle that long before
he was finally go down. That was like the longest
sack I've ever.
Speaker 19 (22:57):
Seen my last sight. It was the same likely just Herbert.
Speaker 24 (23:00):
It's harder to get those guys down, but it w
I mean I got 'em down.
Speaker 9 (23:03):
So, so what'd you think of your first time get
as a Raven?
Speaker 24 (23:06):
It was fun, It was lit, the the energy was great.
Ha happened like the the fans on the side pre
game and got me going. It felt like I was
on like a like envy any given Sunday type movie.
Speaker 16 (23:17):
You know, what can you say about the defensive performance?
I mean, you have the sacks, the Martlan gets, the
turnover inside the five. You guys pretty much help them
for moste years kind of what can you say about
the performance.
Speaker 19 (23:27):
I mean, we've been damn their lights out.
Speaker 24 (23:30):
I mean it's we've created created turnovers, getting pressed on
the quarterback, getting hits, getting sacks, stopping the run, and
everybody's doing their part, you know, d line work, knocking
things back and back in the covering.
Speaker 19 (23:42):
So it's it's a complementary football going on right now.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Let me shit about you about the confidence the defense.
Speaker 25 (23:46):
Since you've arrived.
Speaker 19 (23:47):
Here, it's been through the roof it it when I
got here.
Speaker 24 (23:52):
It it seems weird that they lost or had the
eighty slip ups cause they were just so good. So
I'm happy to be here part something like that.
Speaker 9 (23:58):
A lot of your teammates have talked about the tenacity
I played the game with the physicality and whatnot. Do
you feel like now playing with these guys like you're where.
Speaker 17 (24:04):
You should be?
Speaker 24 (24:06):
I mean I was where I should be the night
I got traded, So I definitely feel my confidence is
growing each and every week.
Speaker 19 (24:13):
The coaches, teammates they did do a good job. Makes
me feel comfortable. They always helping me out overly communicating.
Speaker 24 (24:18):
Even when I know it like the back of my hand,
They'll still tell me, which is a good thing because
you know, yeah, slip up some time.
Speaker 19 (24:23):
So you just keep that up and more wins to come.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
Do you feel like you're the way you play the
game kind of fits the Ravens d It seems that
way since you've arrived here, that you just gotta fit
the style players at the.
Speaker 24 (24:34):
Yeah, I mean contrary is to some may believe I'm
pretty angry person, so but yeah, I mean I fit
them over.
Speaker 17 (24:44):
You saw what those AFC North rivalries are like with
that game last week in Cleveland, next week or sorry,
it's a short week, Thursday night here at the Bank
Thanksgiving to play on Thanksgiving, but also to play against
the Bengals in another AFC North game.
Speaker 24 (24:56):
I've been I've been seeing that rivory for like twenty
plus years now, so I'll understand the the magnitude of
what it is. And we just got first place, so
and we going to get a rival So they about
to be a l a crazy lit game on Thanksgiving. Ye,
so yeah, there about to be a whole bunch of
emotions and anger coming on.
Speaker 5 (25:12):
You've you've been around for a while.
Speaker 8 (25:13):
I mean, how difficult is it to string together five
wins in this league?
Speaker 5 (25:17):
Even if, as Hardball says, not always.
Speaker 24 (25:18):
Pretty super hard Like I've been on five game losing streaks,
so fove game winner streaks are you know, a blessing.
You gotta take advantage of those, and you gotta appreciate them,
and you gotta just keep, you know, adding on to
that streak. You know, you wanna win every game you play,
and you know I wanna and I wanna go to playoffs.
Speaker 19 (25:33):
I've never been in a playoff before, so I'll hopefully we
keep doing that.
Speaker 8 (25:36):
Turning on you guys have held opponents are taken hide
straight games to under twenty points. Just how would you
kind of describe the confidence level of the defense right.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Now through the roof?
Speaker 24 (25:47):
I mean that that's an elite stat that's super hard
to do in the NFL. Like there's so many talented
people across you know, this league, and to do what
we're doing, I mean, that's that's.
Speaker 19 (25:57):
Playoff caliber, super Bowl type type defense.
Speaker 20 (25:59):
Boy, your view or impression of that Jordan Stout seventy
four yard punt, put his hands up and put him
on the billboard.
Speaker 24 (26:06):
I'm not I got I got a gig. I'm like,
I've never seen a punter punt a ball like that.
I was like, that was crazy.
Speaker 20 (26:12):
How does that set the defense up for success when
the opposing offense is pinned down the Oh.
Speaker 24 (26:17):
I mean, it just gives us life, you know, especially
when you know offense have to punt the ball, so
you like, you don't naturally you don't, you dont get.
Speaker 19 (26:22):
Down a little bit, but you're like, damn, like he punned,
it doesn't go out. And when he punted the ball
like that, Oh yeah, we about to them up.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Next, we heard from left tackle Ronnie Stanley.
Speaker 13 (26:36):
Rnnan what does it take them for this team to
go from like one in five starts now being hi
the first place.
Speaker 26 (26:43):
A lot of hard work, a lot of diligence, just
being consistent and you know, never getting complacent, always trying
to get better.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
And was there something in today's game that felt like
change or click offensively when you guys started put together
at the end of the second quarter.
Speaker 26 (26:56):
Yeah, I mean we started to get the run game
going a little bit more, especially in the second half.
But uh, I think we need to start a little
bit faster, start a little bit sharper, and you know,
play a bit a little more complete game as the offense.
Speaker 8 (27:06):
That what wo like lamar Is has talked about, the
other guys have talked about just needing to execute better
and so forth, Like what does that mean to you
in terms of to get the offense going?
Speaker 26 (27:15):
Uh, it means everything because you know, for me, I
know Lamar, I we believe that, you know, to win
a super Bowl and that's the type offense we're gonna
need to have. So uh, while winning is great, you know,
to reach our goals, we know we need to be better.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
Right, how much harder is it?
Speaker 9 (27:30):
You know, Lamar hasn't been gashing teams of this legs
like we've seen it, so any how much harder is
it when you know that dynamic isn't as prevalent.
Speaker 26 (27:39):
I mean, it's I think it's you know, it's about
the same for me. I think, you know, for the
rushers as well. You know, they're they're still gonna try
to get after him, and they're still worried about his legs,
and uh, you know, he's a dynamic player no matter what,
you know, even if he's going through any injury. So
I think, uh, you know, it's about the same for me.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Right, I know, you never wanna see joints out come
out there on the field, but when you see him
have a kind of day they he did help to
how big except this team seventy four yard six over
sixty yard average.
Speaker 26 (28:04):
Yeah, I mean it's huge, you know, to be able
to flip the field like that, especially you know these
situations wherever yard matters, Uh, all the time matters. And
I have full confidence in him. You know, he's a
great player. He's been doing this for a long time
for us, so I expect him to keep doing that
for us.
Speaker 22 (28:18):
Runny, what a.
Speaker 19 (28:19):
Justinents did you guys make in the red zone to
find success today? And I guess where is your confidence.
Speaker 22 (28:23):
Of a lot?
Speaker 26 (28:24):
You know, I just think it was great, you know,
you know, getting the ball in there, but I also
think that we still left a lot out there. I
don't think we scored in you know, every possession of
the red zone and wes you know, touchdown, but uh uh,
we need to get touchdowns we're in the red zone.
That's something that we really need to focus on.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Is anything said a half time to sprought you guys
in the second half?
Speaker 26 (28:43):
No, just you know, stay calm and keep going, you know,
keep the process and you know the run. We knew
the runs were gonna break. We just needed to get
on the right people and adjust to the people that
we need to adjust to.
Speaker 8 (28:52):
What do you think the red zone has has been
a struggle with time this year?
Speaker 26 (28:56):
You know, I can't you know, pinpoint one thing. Uh,
I think a lot of it just maybe details and
staying on our blocks and making sure that you know,
you're finishing the block and we're hitting the hole that
we're supposed to hit. You know, it's pretty much all
execution on you know, every single player, So it's on
all of us.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
Big game for things, gonna be night against the Bengals.
How challenging is the quick turnaround to get.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Ready for that game?
Speaker 26 (29:19):
Yeah, I mean it's always really challenging, you know, those
Thursday night games.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
But that's what's asked of us.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
So that's what we're gonna do.
Speaker 26 (29:25):
We're gonna be ready and we know the type of
challenge the Bengals are gonna show for us. So we
don't look at their record. We know the type of team.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
That they are.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
Next up, we heard from center Tyler Lindabaum, you guys.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
Were holding up up front today.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
Yeah, still need to improve, but.
Speaker 14 (29:45):
I don't know where we were today in the red zone,
especially at the end there. You know, we get the
ball down to the seven yard then we got to
find a way to get it in set a kicking
a field goal. Room to grow, but glad we got
the win. Defense played really well today and got a
big one coming up on Thirsdy.
Speaker 22 (30:00):
Did have two touchdown runs inside the five, which obviously
has been a struggle this year. Satisfaction of that.
Speaker 14 (30:07):
Yeah, uh, you gotta be able to run the ball
down in the red zone, you know, get inside that
five yard line.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
You gotta be able to run it.
Speaker 14 (30:14):
So we're gonna keep trying to improve on it, keep
trying to execute the play that's called, and they got
to be more.
Speaker 5 (30:21):
Efficient like that.
Speaker 19 (30:23):
Adjustments to find that efficiency to day.
Speaker 14 (30:27):
I think at the end of the day, it's a mentality. Yeah,
coaches can get more creative with things, but at the
end of the day, whatever it's called, we got to
find a way to get in the end.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Zone stimming out of the gate. But then you guys
really put it together of end of the first half
and the end of the third quarter. Was there anything
that felt like changed at that point and what started
working at that point in the game?
Speaker 5 (30:44):
Four quarterball game.
Speaker 14 (30:46):
Yeah, Ideally we'd like to start out fast. Uh, you know,
give our defense some breathing room, but they put it
ahead of the game today. Especial teams kept us in
the game. Defense kept us in the game, and you know,
we got talented players on offense that you know we
can score some points. Uh, just glad we got the win,
and we got a really tough one coming up Thursday,
so Thanksgiving.
Speaker 5 (31:06):
I'm excited to see what we can do.
Speaker 22 (31:07):
Marlin was saying, you know, early on when the offense
we scored a lot of points in the defense was struggling,
like no one on offense was pointed us. And right
now it's the same way and that kind of synergy.
I guess that's the key if you're going to figure
things out.
Speaker 14 (31:19):
Right, Yeah, I mean, you gotta find ways in this
league to win ball games each and every way. You know,
it certainly helps when you have a really good defense
and you know they're playing at extremely high level. Obviously
we want to play at a higher level too, But
we're gonna keep searching and keep fighting and keep.
Speaker 17 (31:36):
Trying to improve find straight wins going into a short
week now, but there's only a little bit of time
to celebrate now. Getting back to a winning record for
the first time this year, right as you look ahead
to that AFC North matchup with the Bengals for the
first time.
Speaker 14 (31:47):
Yeah, been fighting, scratching a claw and try to dig
ourselves out of a hole. We're not even close to
where we need to be, where we want to be,
but you know we're.
Speaker 5 (31:58):
On the right path, right track.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
Actually heard from running back Derek Henry, who had a
pair of touchdowns in the win field.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
After it wanted five start and now be tied with
the pittsburghs field or to talk though.
Speaker 27 (32:13):
It's good we won. Looking forward to Thursday. Great winning,
great team, getting.
Speaker 22 (32:18):
In the end zone twice, the the runs, the inside
the five. Obvious, he's gonna struggle. But to have that
kind of success for a couple of times to that,
what does that.
Speaker 5 (32:24):
Mean to you?
Speaker 27 (32:26):
We got an end zone, We scored what we needed
to do to be able to put points up on
great execution by everybody on offense.
Speaker 5 (32:31):
What was it like to see the hole that have
your card made on that player he scored?
Speaker 19 (32:35):
Was it like to see the hole?
Speaker 17 (32:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 27 (32:36):
I mean we s we scored, so I mean it work.
He did a great job.
Speaker 5 (32:39):
What kind of role does he play though?
Speaker 26 (32:41):
In that kind of, uh, you know, situation there where
he creates that will to create that situation where you
can get in a key fourth down.
Speaker 27 (32:47):
I mean that's something he's been doing before I got here.
So there's no surprise to nobody who goes out in there.
He he blocks and does a great job and for
us to be able to have big runs or or
be able to score Sarah, what's the feeling that you
guys on the offensive side of all getting to win
but knowing that you're you know, you didn't play up
to you guys as capability. I thank you, thank you
(33:07):
know you just answered the question. You didn't play to
the way we where we do feel like we should
and you gotta be better.
Speaker 4 (33:14):
We did pad up fourth.
Speaker 20 (33:15):
Down the touchdown with a a big kind of turning
point in the game.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Were you guys lobbying and all to go for it
on fourth down? This situation now big was up at
that point.
Speaker 27 (33:23):
You know, we just wanna give us half a chance
to be able to go score it and glad that
we executed it, be we able to get it in there,
and yeah, we just gotta be better on offensive all.
Speaker 8 (33:31):
Sometimes it's said, you know, I guess, just not executing
our offense with U on some of these opportunities.
Speaker 20 (33:36):
What did?
Speaker 9 (33:37):
What did?
Speaker 5 (33:38):
What do you need to do?
Speaker 19 (33:39):
I guess in order to execute.
Speaker 27 (33:40):
The an you guys, what do we need to do
as a offense.
Speaker 5 (33:44):
Just to to execute the way? You guys wanna?
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Uh play better?
Speaker 25 (33:47):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (33:48):
Execute it?
Speaker 27 (33:51):
And I don't know what else to say. We just
need to to play better, and oh, everybody just do
their job. All eleven takes all eleven to be able
to execute the uh plays together for drives together.
Speaker 22 (34:01):
And then a point, how much of a challenge is
it with Lamar not seemingly able to run the ball
the way we've seen him in the past. The thread
options not been a big part of it. His design
runs are on the part of it. The defense looks
like they're not. Then have to worry about that. How
does that affect that approach? And then defense aparchy.
Speaker 27 (34:17):
A lot approaches the same as when I get the ball,
try to make plays and do my job. I I
can't speak for you. You have to ask him that
and uh, yeah, just uh what we want today? So
you know that's that's a plus. But the talks don't
be in better.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
Except we heard from wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
Speaker 7 (34:37):
You find it encouraging that the offense, you know, still
could be clicking off the full cylinders.
Speaker 25 (34:41):
In the future. You asked a lot of questions, which one,
which one you want me to answer?
Speaker 1 (34:48):
Being in a five game win Street knowing that the
offense still has, you know, plenty of room to have
a four quarter performance, is that?
Speaker 4 (34:53):
Do you find that encouraging?
Speaker 17 (34:54):
Like?
Speaker 5 (34:54):
Do you find satisfaction in the winnings?
Speaker 14 (34:56):
Uh?
Speaker 25 (34:57):
Yeah, I find satisfaction in the wind no matter how
it is. It's just the NFL. The other team get
paid as well, so you know, of course you wanna
go out there and and blow a team out, but
a win is a win, so you know, man, Uh,
it doesn't matter doctually.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Seems like almost afy one of your catches this year
is come up big moments. How much pride do you
take and being able to deliver in those clutch situations?
Speaker 25 (35:16):
Uh? Man, you know I came here uh cause I
knew they had Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry and you
know those guys are are playing for something, you know,
So man, I'm just happy to be part of it
and and be able to be in the game and
during those clutch situations. Uh when my numbers called. You know,
I I think I've came down with it more more
than I haven't. So you know, hopefully Lamar and I
keep building off that.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
I you you played a lot of football in your
preyers or something to be said from knowing how to
win games, even if it's not the prettiest thing, but
knowing how to win games just sack was wins.
Speaker 25 (35:45):
Of course right end of the day, it says, you know,
win a loss, man, So you know, good teams find
a way to win.
Speaker 16 (35:50):
Uh.
Speaker 25 (35:50):
However that is if it's Marlin getting the ball out.
Speaker 17 (35:52):
Uh.
Speaker 25 (35:52):
Special teams, you know, making a tackle when they need too.
It's a lot of little things to go into it.
Other than you know, the big self that people seees.
Speaker 23 (36:00):
The offense hasn't been able to kind of click the
way you guys want would like it to.
Speaker 10 (36:05):
Uh.
Speaker 25 (36:05):
Man. You know, I feel like we we we're click
enough to win. Uh Nah, that's all that matters.
Speaker 5 (36:09):
Man.
Speaker 25 (36:10):
You know, you look at teams around the league, U record,
you know who who isn't what ours is?
Speaker 18 (36:16):
Uh.
Speaker 25 (36:17):
You know, but that could be statistically the highest ranked offense.
So you know, I'd rather be in this position than
you know, statistically the best on paper.
Speaker 4 (36:25):
Hear.
Speaker 7 (36:25):
The beginning of your career at Youston, you were part
of a couple of teams that also bounced back from
slow starts like this one. What does it take for
a team to make that kind of mid season to run?
Speaker 27 (36:35):
Man?
Speaker 25 (36:36):
It takes the players just committing, uh, to to do
their job, you know, you know, being in a situation
like we were in one to five. I don't think
anybody thought that we couldn't do what we're doing now
in this locker room.
Speaker 13 (36:47):
Uh.
Speaker 25 (36:47):
But that starts with the veterans. Uh, the way we practice,
you know, the young guys gonna practice the same way.
Speaker 13 (36:52):
Uh.
Speaker 25 (36:52):
But you know, really, you know the practice field, Man,
you gotta go out and practice with meaning.
Speaker 27 (36:57):
Uh.
Speaker 25 (36:57):
And you know executing the game?
Speaker 4 (36:59):
Do you want that?
Speaker 5 (37:00):
You've been doing this for for a long time.
Speaker 16 (37:01):
Just how do you balance you get to this point
in the season, especially you know, taking care of your body,
you taking that time to rest, but also when execution
is the problem, knowing when you need to get out
and practice and work on things as well.
Speaker 5 (37:12):
Just how do you balance?
Speaker 27 (37:13):
Uh?
Speaker 25 (37:13):
Well, you know, man, it's you get you got a
lot of time on your hands. Uh, you know in
this league. So you know, guys like myself, who's who's
been around other players just asking what they're doing uh
to you know, recover especially you know at this age. Uh,
you know, been in l a lot of locker rooms
and been around a lot of vets.
Speaker 10 (37:30):
You know.
Speaker 25 (37:30):
I used to ask JJ Watt and J Johnson things
you know that they were doing to to recover, especially
short weeks and stuff like that.
Speaker 9 (37:37):
Man.
Speaker 25 (37:38):
But uh, you know, just asking questions when you when
you're young. Uh, you know, the NFL has I feel like,
you know, kind of made it. Where games are you know,
quicker turnaround?
Speaker 20 (37:46):
Now?
Speaker 25 (37:47):
I remember last year we played three games within like
a week or a week and a half. So, uh,
you know, man, if you wanna go out there and
be productive, recovery is key.
Speaker 5 (37:55):
You went away from a thousand catches in your career.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
How are you eager you to get that one?
Speaker 9 (37:59):
Oh? Man?
Speaker 25 (38:00):
So I thought Lamar and I had on the go ball.
Speaker 9 (38:02):
Man.
Speaker 25 (38:02):
Let you know, it's all good, you know, hopefully we
can get next week.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
Next we heard from right tackle Roger rose Garden.
Speaker 22 (38:12):
And you get a great seal on your guy to
take us through that play at that moment. Consterning what
it's been like trying to score in that situation.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
Ship, Yeah, you know, red zone.
Speaker 18 (38:20):
We definitely haven't been as fici as we wanted to be,
But I think definitely got there down on the goal
line and coach trusts us being down there fourth and
two and had a good play call. Danny set it
up really nice for me and you know, Pat had
a great block, We had a great block on the
right side, and then just kind of opened it up
and for a walk in.
Speaker 19 (38:37):
So that's that's what that's the expectation.
Speaker 22 (38:39):
So first half I looked like it was a real
struggle to get going.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
What was going on?
Speaker 19 (38:44):
Do you think in your.
Speaker 18 (38:44):
Assessment, Yeah, you know, I think they did a pretty
good job on limiting our first down place, you know,
keeping us pretty close, uh second and long in those situations.
But you know, if we stay in front of the sticks,
you know, at a false start, you know, can't have that.
But you know, just stay in front of the sticks,
especially in that first half, that happens, you know, good
things come for our offense.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
I think you can take point the difference in the
team from going from the last to pass.
Speaker 5 (39:09):
When do you think has been the factor?
Speaker 18 (39:13):
I mean, I think just being on the same page
and like I said, you know, being super efficient on
first down is huge for us. There's so many things,
so many factors I go into it. But you know,
getting the play call in, you know, doing your job
and doing it at.
Speaker 5 (39:26):
A high level of physicality.
Speaker 18 (39:28):
I think that's that's the main thing for us.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
So lastly, we heard from rookie Outsidelnebacker like Green.
Speaker 13 (39:37):
I think, uh, just seeing him being able to go
out there and and perform the way that he did.
I'm very grateful for him and we're glad we got him.
It was it was crazy because like from the sideline perspective,
you can't really see like where the ball is like
traveling like sideline and sideline wise, So when we see
(39:59):
that it bounced the field first, it was crazy, Like
we were all shocked.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
It was.
Speaker 4 (40:02):
It was amazing.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Mike, that's six straight games or you've limited the opponent
under twenty points.
Speaker 5 (40:06):
What do you think it is clicking pretty personally and collickibly.
Speaker 13 (40:09):
Yeah, I think we're just simply going out there and
having cohesion off of each other, like we're out there
playing off of each other. You know, when when the
offense is not doing necessarily what they want to do,
then the defense is when the defense isn't doing what
they want to do, then the offenses and then so forth.
And then also on the defense, if you know, if
you're out your gap, if you're at your misfit or whatever,
(40:30):
like the linebackers can can help you out and make
sure that you're doing the right thing whatever. But I
think it's just cohesion. Honestly, it's like we're playing off
each other, we're flying around, we're having fun now, and
I think if we just continue to do what we've
been doing, that we're gonna be a very good defense.
About about Dre, yeah, it is he's so versatile, like
like he lines up inside and plays defensive tackle, he
(40:53):
lines up outside, he can drop. We got him running
stunts and things like that. So he's just such a
versatile player and I think he's gonna be very special
for us. And he's helped us out a lot as
you can see. And and uh, he just got to
continue build on his bricks and he's gonna be very
good piece.
Speaker 5 (41:09):
For using for the past.
Speaker 25 (41:12):
Games.
Speaker 5 (41:13):
You So, what's been clicking for.
Speaker 13 (41:15):
The past rush. I would just say we got like
a little bit more of a sense of of how
past rushing works and how we can put that and
mix that with our scheme. Because like every defense, every
defense got a different, different scheme, So when you're you're
trying to do certain pass rushes, you've got to make
sure that it fits into your scheme. So I think
(41:37):
we just navigated a way to make sure that we're
rushing our best and inside of the best scheme that
we're running.
Speaker 16 (41:43):
So yeah, you guys, now turn the page to Thursday,
Thanksgiving prime time, Bengals coming here.
Speaker 5 (41:48):
Just kind of you're looking forward to that. All eyes
gonna be on your guys.
Speaker 13 (41:52):
Yeah, yeah, And I think it's not no pressure that
we haven't already faced before. We know how talented of
a team they are, we know how talent of a
team we are. I think it's gonna be great, it's
gonna be special. Of course, I never played on Thanksgiving.
I never I don't even think I had a game
around Thanksgiving, So it's gonna be It's gonna be nice
going out there and being able to play them.
Speaker 5 (42:15):
Can you grow up watching.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
This Thanksgiving games and kind of yeah, yeah, for sure.
Speaker 13 (42:20):
And I think, like you know, you'll think that being
away from home from Thanksgiving, that.
Speaker 3 (42:28):
Like when you're playing like college.
Speaker 13 (42:30):
Ball, that that it's not necessarily a good thing, like
you want to be home and things like that. But now,
I like, I'm looking forward into this game a lot,
like and I think it's just gonna be a time
where we come together as a team, as a family team,
and we're we're gonna be able to chase one goal,
and yeah, it's gonna be good.
