Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome into the Ravens Press Pass podcast. It's Tuesday, December
twenty third, and the Ravens are gearing up for Saturday
nights primetime matchup against the Green Bay Packers. After practice today,
we had a chance to hear from the coordinators. Speaking
first at the podium was offensive coordinator Todd Munkett.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Well, we heard Coach Harbaugh's explanation about with Derek, why
didn't touch the ball at the end? What in live
time can you take us through our situation like that occurred?
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Well, I think coach addressed it. I'd rather leave it
at that. Coach already addressed it. What I was fired
up about offensively was we looked like our old selves.
We really did. I mean, we were better in the
red zone, We're much better on third downs. We kept
drives going, we ran the ball well, we threw it well.
We just unfortunately shot ourselves in the foot, which has
(00:54):
really been an issue for us, you know, even the
last couple weeks. I mean, we've moved did well. Unfortunately,
we've had some lost shartage plays and turnovers that really
stopped us. But I was excited about the way we
played other than you know, the turnovers. I mean, that's
part of it. They kept us from really scoring enough
points or giving us a chance at the end.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yeah, fumbles kill you.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
How do you get better at that?
Speaker 3 (01:21):
I mean, well, we're working the hell out of it,
and that's what we're going to continue to do. I
mean that's I mean, that's life, you guys. I've been
up here for three years now, and it's we're human.
We're going to make mistakes. I mean, that's what humans do.
And then what do you do? You fight like Hill
to fix it. That's what you do individually and collectively,
from the player level to the position coach level, and
(01:42):
then to the coordinator level. And we make sure that
we fight like Hill to eliminate. That's what you do
because we know. I mean, how do you win. You
don't turn the ball over and you create turnovers. You're
explosive and you don't give up explosives. You score touchdowns
in the red zone. You don't give up touchdowns. We
convert to keep drives alive, eliminate lost yardage plays, all
(02:03):
of those things. When you do that, you're going to
be successful in offense. You're going to be highly successful.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
I know what the ring game I mean, obviously is
that you push about the strategy, but it.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Acts and they need to come together over the.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Past speeds whatever you right of which.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
He's been killing starts.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Oh yeah, I think our guys are running off the ball.
I like our physicality. Obviously, we've had excellent game plans.
I think our backs have run hard. We've gotten Keeping
more involved, and that kind of lends to the point.
You know, we've gotten Keeping more involved, and we want
to get him more involved. I mean, that's part of it.
We really haven't had a lot of snaps. What do
we have thirty eight two weeks ago and then fifty four.
(02:43):
I mean that's ninety two total in two games. But
we've run the ball well. We've been able to get
Keeping involved, We've gotten Derek involved, and I think that's
a good thing for us. I think it keeps them fresh.
Speaker 7 (02:56):
Now when we're.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Running it that well, the whiteouts aren't real fired up.
You know, they want to touch the ball, and that's
that's a good problem to have when you've got really
good skilled players running backs, tight ends, wide outs that
want the ball. We're trying to get de Hot more
involved and that's a good thing. And I it feels
like it just feels like we're heading the right direction.
Speaker 7 (03:13):
It really does.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
You mentioned he gets.
Speaker 6 (03:16):
Them more involved with that intentional in.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
The game plan or they just have a little of everything.
I mean, we've had we've had him in the game
plan for a number of weeks. Just sometimes the ball
doesn't find him. Sometimes it does. Sometimes coverage dictates that.
That's the same with Bait. You know, we'd love to
get Bait more involved. It's not it's nothing he's doing.
I mean, he's blocking his roarer end off. He's all in.
I mean, I'm so fired up for him coming back
(03:41):
from the ankle, and I think he played really well.
But you know, when you're I think we had twelve
passes on the book two weeks ago and we had
twenty this week. That's not a lot of opportunities. It
just isn't so and that's a good thing. I mean,
that's that means you're running the ball, well, you're staying
ahead of the chains. That's that's a good thing. But
we certainly have good number of skill guys and and
(04:01):
are always trying to get them involved.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Without Mike Parsons, But how do you think they're kind
of trying to make up for his essence.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Well, first of all, they they have a lot of
really good players and they do a great job defensively.
I mean we went against them two years ago when
we practiced up there, and you could see that tremendous coaches.
I mean, they play hard, you know, a lot like
the team we just played. I mean, they rally the football,
they play physical at the point of attack, their safeties
are aggressive and downhill. So it's it's gonna be a
(04:37):
real challenge obviously, like any team, whether you lose Lamar Jackson,
whether you lose Parsons, I mean, that's a hit. I mean,
that's that's a fact. But their two edge guys are
still really good players. They're very active inside, do a
great job with their you know, with their blitz patterns
(04:57):
and on third down. So it'll be a real challenge
for us. But I'll obviously, like any team, when you
lose an elite player, a gold jacket player like that,
it's gonna sting.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Coach, how do you think of Lamar is handled mentally?
At least the physical nature of the injuries.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
And everything that man man has it been hard on him.
Speaker 8 (05:13):
I mean, I'm just telling you.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
For a guy that loves to play football and loves
to be out there with his teammates, it's been it's
been hard. It's been a struggle because, like any player
to be able to shine, you want to feel your best,
especially with lower body injuries. When when when Lebar has
the ball in his hands, he's electric, And so I
(05:37):
know it's been really difficult for him. It's been difficult
trying to get himself back and not feeling like he's
playing at the level he's capable of playing at. But
I've been pleased with how he's gone about it and
gone about his business, and I know he's going to
fight to get back out there this week.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Got it you could say.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Was Lamar able to practice today? And for Tyler, he
serious that he has. But having already start for you
guys once, what is that going to mean for you guys?
Speaker 9 (06:04):
Possibility?
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Well, first off, we'll see how the week goes. We'll
see how the week goes with who's available, all of
our players, and we have confidence in whoever takes the field,
whether it's Lamar Snoop, whether it's Coop or any of
our players. I mean, when Bait wasn't able to go
against Cincinnati, you count on the other guys to step up.
It's the expectation of the position. I mean, that's that's
(06:26):
what we do, the expectation of next man up. You know,
when Andrew went down at left guard last week, I mean,
memory's got to go in the game when you lose players.
That's the nature of what we do. Next man up
and fight like hell to play it at an elite level.
That's that's what you do, right, Thank you, thanks everybody
for coming.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
That was offensive coordinator Todd Munkin Next up. Special teams
coordinator Chris Horton.
Speaker 7 (06:56):
Goodness, Sierra. They hope you guys are doing well. It's
like the start man, just congratulating all those guys that
made the Pro Bowl team, especially Jordan Stout. You know,
it's just he's having an unbelievable season, well deserved, and
I think Jordan will Jordan will stand up here and
tell you, uh, He'll credit probably his punt team, the protection.
(07:17):
He'll credit the gunners, you know, to making sure that
his net is where it is. And we're just you know,
again the first three years for him, you know, he
he was out there, he was going and he's just
been trusting his process. Randy's done a great job with
him and him just going through it. You know, everyone
has played a part in Jordan's success, you know, just
(07:38):
being able to stay healthy through the season, and the
trainers and the in his body, taking care of his
body in the in the weight room. It's been it's
been outstanding. So pretty fired up for him. For us,
you know, we're just getting ready to go play another
football game and try to play our best football again.
Our guys are playing at a consistent level. They're playing hard,
they're playing physical. Uh, they're having some exit, they're they're executing.
(08:00):
But uh, you know, we want more cause we wanna
try to create more explosive place questions Christmas.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
There a moment with Jordan, you know, back in the
summer weeks kind of.
Speaker 10 (08:09):
Just see that it's gonna be in the group.
Speaker 7 (08:12):
Uh. I wouldn't say there was a there was a
a specific moment I think with I think with Jordan,
you know, he just came in. Every year, he came
in and he worked and he just tried to he
just tried to find something to get better at. Uh
every year, and I think this year it's it's really
it's really just click for him. And you know, everything
that he's doing with Randy Uh on the side and
(08:33):
just talking about drops and trying different things, these things
are paying off for him. And again it's just it's
a part of growth, right, UH those earlier years. He's
a young guy, and it's just you you get better
through experience, and he's played he's played three full uh
three full years, and so with that experience, it's starting
to translate and it's carrying over and you know, our
guys are doing a great job around him. The surrounding crew,
(08:54):
UH is doing an unbelievable job of making sure that
you know, they're all they're all playing at a high level.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Coach with the UH field goal at TIMP that fell
short with Tyler UH last.
Speaker 9 (09:03):
Week, what was that just?
Speaker 2 (09:04):
I mean, the the accuracy seemed like it was there
was just a matter of system.
Speaker 7 (09:07):
But what was your epism? Yeah, I don't think it
was a matter of uh of distance, Uh, Jared. I
just think Tyler Tyler got out of rhythm. He n
you know how you know how kickers are. You know,
everything is a it's a it's a rhythm and it's
and when he got out of rhythm. He just kind
of got underneath the ball, uh mishit it and j
spun a little bit too much. I don't think uh
distance is a is a is a Q is a question.
(09:29):
I think it's more just his his rhythm and going
through the same process every time, for sure. Yes, yep.
Speaker 8 (09:39):
What about with the weather, Uh there are or you
got advance now? Is that expected weather situation?
Speaker 11 (09:44):
Screen?
Speaker 7 (09:44):
Guy haven't uh haven't talked to Randy about that yet. Uh,
but you know, we'll be prepared for it. Uh you
know it. We'll go out and we'll do what we do,
you know obviously, Uh in the in the kicking game,
I talked about this before. Uh, there's a there's a process,
right and this you know, just play the ball or
you're supposed to play the ball and and just you know,
and just hit your best ball. And then then in
the return game if there is some if there is
(10:04):
some weather, we just got to continue to make great decisions.
And I think, uh Legontay's done a great job of that. Course.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
I think we saw as the first kick returner on Sunday.
Speaker 8 (10:15):
Name and you was.
Speaker 7 (10:17):
The kind of reason that there Jonas. I think it's
just it's just part of our game plan.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (10:21):
You know, we're we're rotating those guys. All those guys
have have a skill set uh to and they belong
back there. So for us, it's just you know, uh
what do we want to open up with? And that's
just part of part of what we did. And then
when we didn't get a ball, we went back to
something else, and then we didn't get a ball, and
then we waited till we got a ball, and then
we kind of went back to our other guys. So
it's just kind of playing a little bit of just
playing a little game back there. But all those guys
(10:43):
are capable of doing what we asks them to do
along those lines.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
I don't know the kind of phrase for it, but
to play kind of a single high kind of the
way if you guys did it with like one supposed
to splain the field. Is that just kind of your
response to how the man handled kickoffs previously, your.
Speaker 10 (10:58):
Expectation works in that game.
Speaker 7 (11:00):
Uh, I think it's more of I think it's more
of just kind of how we how we wanna handle
our edges. Uh you know, I think I think pat
back there uh is an asset you know, in the
old system him having him back there. He did a
great job. He's a he's a good lead blocker. But uh,
it ultimately will play out kind of what what we
see from the kickers as well to.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Can you evolve in the special team to turn out
just what have you seen from says blocker as he's
evolved in Forecial Team.
Speaker 7 (11:27):
Tess has done a great job, you know, just uh,
just just just from last year. I think about where
where he was and how he was trying to establish himself,
get himself on the field. He show you know, he's
always had the speed and that's one of the things
we look for. But then then he started to show
the the physicality that we wanted him to play with.
And you know, he feels a he feels a very
good role for for a place where where we need
(11:49):
those guys.
Speaker 5 (11:50):
Right.
Speaker 7 (11:50):
We talk about we talk about Jordan and the success
that he's having. You know, part of that is uh,
you know Levine, uh just coming back and doing such
an unbelievable job with those guns on the outside of
just making sure that it's speed. They're winning with speed
and so and Tess has that and he's able to
make tackles and he's a smart football player. He blocks,
you know, on kickoff return, he covers kicks. Uh, he
(12:12):
forced a he forced a fumble, he ends up in
the right spot right on that fake punt. And it's
just a guy that's paying attention to details and he
just wants to be good.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
Chris are just been.
Speaker 9 (12:21):
Going back to Jordan like ship, you know, whenever he
found out or just kind of the ship.
Speaker 7 (12:27):
Oh you uh we found out uh in our team meeting. Uh,
you know, so we we kind of talked about it,
and you know, it's just very you just congratulate him,
you know because you you know how hard he's work
to get to this point in his career. Right. And
and that's the guy that's the guy that that we saw,
that that Randy went out and scouted, that came from
Penn State, the guy we drafted at this organization. That's
(12:49):
the guy that they've been looking for. And this year, man,
he's he's putting it all together. And like I said,
it was it was an unbelievable moment for him. He's
earned it. He deserves it, alright. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
We also heard from defensive coordinator Zach Orr.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
Zach, you got a chance to watch the film. Well,
what do you see that happened.
Speaker 10 (13:16):
In that fourth quarter?
Speaker 7 (13:17):
Is that.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
I think it was just executions standpoint. I think that
you know, our guys, we were competing. I think guys
was in the right spots.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
You gotta take your hat off to to New England
and and the quarterback.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
They made the plays when they had to make 'em,
and and they all executed us on the last couple
of drives.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Man.
Speaker 8 (13:34):
I think it was combination of when we when.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
We covered the guys, well, the rush wasn't getting there
in time. When we were hitting him early and and
quickly and making them get to bother his hands, his receivers,
he made some good throws and receivers made some good catches.
So you know, it just come down to execution. We
just gotta find a way to get off the field.
Speaker 11 (13:53):
Man.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
As a defense, you know, you with the with the
fourth quarter lead, you you dream about those situations and
ending the game, and it's unfortunately we weren't able to
do that. So that's something we have to definitely learn
from and correct this week.
Speaker 7 (14:07):
Obviously, status.
Speaker 8 (14:10):
Talk about this shortween.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
Oh yeah, I mean I think that the benefit that
they have is Malik Willis has been there for a
year or two now and he's actually started games for them.
So if you look at the game when he came
into against Chicago last Saturday, the offense didn't change. I
mean it's still running the football, plaction pass, still taking
their shots down the field. I think the element that
Malik adds it's a little different than than than Jordan
(14:38):
Is is the QB.
Speaker 8 (14:39):
Designed run game.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
So you know Jordan Love, he'll do that in certain situations,
but uh, that spikes up when Malik Willis is in
that QB and but both of them and the offense
is well built. They got talented players all over the
field at the receiver position, tied end position, and the
running back position.
Speaker 8 (14:56):
And you could tell that the way they were calling
the game.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
They felt comfortab but with them just running their UH
with Elite running their offense, so it won't be big,
big difference. Preparation wise, you would have to be ready
for more QB driven UH plays. Uh if Elik starts
in plays.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
The town teach points.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
Yeah, man, it was just all about gap control. We
had two guys in the same gap. We should have
spiked up into the A gap and and constrict that space.
So whenever you end up with two guys in in
one gap, it creates a vertical scene, and you know those.
Speaker 8 (15:30):
Backs were gonna find it.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
We did a pretty good job bottling up the run
game for the most part, but that one cost us
right there.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
How do you like that?
Speaker 8 (15:39):
I thought he did good. I thought he did well.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
He had a couple of plays that he he he
want back, but overall, he played a really good game,
and I was proud to see that. We were proud
to see that, cause that's what we expected from him.
We saw that early in the season. We had his opportunity. Uh,
he played fast. I mean saw that he ended up
getting forced the quarterback out of bounds, got a sack.
Speaker 7 (15:56):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
That flip play that they ran early in the game.
I mean, that's a play that they've scored on a lot,
and it got the big explosives.
Speaker 8 (16:02):
He was there to make the TfL. So he played well.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
Man very encouraged with his performance, and I know he's
looking forward to building on it.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Obviously, he's been around this franchise.
Speaker 8 (16:11):
For so many years.
Speaker 9 (16:13):
And what's it like in the building to make the playoffs?
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Yeah, man, I mean I think obviously we're moving forward now.
Speaker 8 (16:23):
But obviously after the game, it was tough.
Speaker 4 (16:25):
It was tough just because the expectation, the standard that
this organization has and the standard that we set for
ourselves and uh we know the ultimate goal that that
that we want to reach and to not be in
control of that is definitely tough. But uh, the type
of the men and women we have in this organization, UH,
we understand that we have to move forward and we
(16:46):
have to still we still got at least two games
to play, you know what I mean, And we have
to control we can control, and only that we control
is how we prepare and get ready to go play
Green Bay on Saturday, if you know, we have to
go out there and win that game. Uh to even
have a chance to get to we want to get to.
So that's what we got to focus on. And I
was I was happy with the guys, seeing them and
how they came in the meetings and how their energy
(17:07):
was and to walk through the day.
Speaker 8 (17:08):
So I feel very encouraged about that.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
And that's not a shock because the type of people
we have in the building. Did you but now I
never got a chance to play there. I never got
a chance to play there have been out there twice
the year after I got done playing in twenty seventeen.
That was a good, good day for the Ravens and
then it got a chance to go out there last
year for the preseason. But uh, it's a it's a
(17:31):
you know, Green Bay Lambeoufield is obviously historic stadium that
if you love football, you know all the rich history.
Speaker 8 (17:37):
That it has.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
And getting a chance to go out there, man, was
was really neat. You can just feel the r when
you walk into that stadium. So I know I will
be fired up to be there and I know our
guys will be excited.
Speaker 7 (17:52):
Yeah he did.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
How is the lineup?
Speaker 7 (17:55):
And yea, how was he coming?
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Uh, it's good to have him back in the lineup
just because he's a versatile piece that can go in
there and go play like uh, you know, Cheetoh was
down for so he was able to go in and
play nickel and was able to kick Marlow outside a
little bit and I think you were able to see
all his abilities covers abilities and then that play that
he made before the half, blitzing off the edge, retracing
getting the ball off the quarterback was big four. So
(18:17):
it's real good to have him back. You know, he's
he's one of us. The guys love him, they love
playing with him. He brings the energy out there. And
I know he had that one play. I mean he
was he was a good position, kind of slipped out
of his break. But we got full confidence he'll make
those plays. And I think it's just amazing to see
the guy to come back earlier than expected it from
an achilles injury and just to have the mindset that
(18:40):
he was gonna get back and come out and make
impact just two weeks of playing, and he's only gonna
get better.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
When you look at just how this defense specifically short,
you just kind of attribute that.
Speaker 6 (18:58):
To Swain's good teams or the like.
Speaker 8 (19:05):
Yeah whatever.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
Yeah, Now I think that you know, I want discredit
teams that we're playing at all. Definitely playing for good
teams every every every every week is competitive. It snaph
Football League top of the line. And you understand the
primetime games, it's it's prime time for a reason. Most
likely you know, the teams that are playing are are
are really good and uh but I honestly I think
that you know, it's just comes down to us just
(19:29):
execute man and sometimes we've executed sometimes we haven't. Just
really this year, I felt like, you know, we've just
been we just been maybe a step behind, and so
it's something that we continue to chase. You know, we're
not making excuses about it, you know, like say, tip
your hat off to the teams we're playing. Obviously they
found a way to get it done, and that's something
that would continue to the search. We've had opportunities. We
(19:49):
just got to make those plays and and find ways
to put ourselves in better positions to make those plays.
Any initiation to Kyle, Yeah, I mean it's a it's
a great We congratulated those guys. Coach Harbor did a
good job of announcing the Pro Bowl winners, and then
we talked about it in our defensive room, man, just
because I know those guys have one that accolade multiple times.
Speaker 8 (20:14):
But you never want to take it for granted.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
And anytime you get voted by your peers, the fans,
the media as a Pro bowler and basically an all
star in your profession, that's that's something that ought to
be celebrated and congratulated.
Speaker 8 (20:26):
And you know it couldn't happen to two better people.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
The way they approach the game with their preparation, the
way they approach the game with their practice habits, and
the way they take care of themselves in the offseason,
and the way they continue to lead and show up
weekend and week out. So we're proud of those guys.
We're happy for them. Both of them are well deserving.
Both of them are I think two of the top
players at their position and two top players, two of
(20:50):
the top defensive players in the league. So I'm glad
that they got the accolade. Appreciate y'all, Thank you.
Speaker 12 (20:58):

In the locker room, we heard from a few players,
starting with safety Kyle Hamilton.
Speaker 11 (21:27):
Kyle, just what do you see from the Packers and
how challenging, is it given their quarterback situation not exactly knowing,
you know, how does that affect preparation?
Speaker 6 (21:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (21:35):
I think they're a very talented team, been a obviously
one of the better organizations in the league and always
good for the most part. A lot of great skill
guys on the outside. Running backs are good, a line
of physical quarterback thing. I mean, they're both super talented,
both throw it, both pretty mobile. So just prepare as
(21:56):
we go throughout the week. But you know, we just
got to do do us first.
Speaker 11 (22:00):
Is there anything special for you personally about playing in
Lambeau in December?
Speaker 5 (22:04):
Uh?
Speaker 10 (22:04):
Yeah, I mean I I've never played there, so it'd
be cool. I know it's one of the last few
like cathedrals of NFL football.
Speaker 9 (22:12):
Yeah, it would be fun.
Speaker 10 (22:13):
I don't think it's gonna be crazy cold up there,
which is a blessing, but but yeah, it would be
cool to kind of check that out the list.
Speaker 11 (22:19):
How do you guys kind of handle this week and
and you know, the position that you're in, not controlling
your own destiny, how do you kind of get your
mind right for this game?
Speaker 10 (22:26):
Yeah, I mean it's gotta be gotta win our game first.
To give ourselves a chance and you know see what
happens after that. But y, we're playing football. We got
opportunity to go out there and win a game. So uh,
we gotta prepare that way. We gotta go out there
and play that way.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Kyle Zac just said that he was encouraged by how
guys a kind of responded their meetings and today's walking through.
Speaker 8 (22:45):
How would you kind of just smarm the atmosphere here?
Speaker 11 (22:48):
What?
Speaker 10 (22:49):
Yeah, I mean, obviously it's not happy to go lucky,
but you know, we put the loss behind us and
we still have an opportunity. Really, we're fortunate to to
have a opportunity at this point. Put ourselves in a
pretty tough position. Gotta win out and gotta get some
help as well, but you know, we gotta take advantage
of that opportunity at least give ourselves a chance.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
I don't think you with the DVS, do you think
Christmas teams?
Speaker 10 (23:16):
You know, uh, we had a secret Santa pretty underwhelming, honestly,
But I mean it's it's always cool to, you know,
see what guys bring and see what little pieces tidbits
they might have picked up that you liked out the year,
and you know, exchange those gifts last Friday and uh,
it's pretty cool. What was the most impressive?
Speaker 1 (23:36):
But someone came over.
Speaker 10 (23:39):
That's a impressive gifts. See that's the problem that weren't
too many great ones. I think Marlin mighta got like
a Louis something for somebody.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Uh.
Speaker 10 (23:51):
I got Marlin a bunch of Sunday Red gear, So
hopefully we'll use that in the offseason.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Kyle Third program over you.
Speaker 12 (23:57):
Zach was just saying it's not something to take ran.
Speaker 5 (24:00):
What's being in the fall.
Speaker 10 (24:03):
Yeah, exactly that. I mean, you know, it's kind of surreal.
I'm just really thankful players, coaches, fans that see me
in such a light to vote me for the Pro Bowl,
and a ton of guys deserving you, especially in my position.
You know, there's a ton of guys that I voted
for that didn't get it that I thought I played
(24:24):
great football throughout this year. And but yeah, I'm just
thankful to be in the position. And you know, obviously
that's not the end goal, but it's cool to kind
of have the accolade and.
Speaker 9 (24:33):
Don't take it lightly.
Speaker 10 (24:34):
I'm I'm definitely blessed and thankful for the opportunity typically yeah, yeah,
exercise my uh my rights, not what they said.
Speaker 9 (24:44):
Yeah, thanks cool, thank you.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
That was safety Kyle Hamilton. Next up, we have center
Tyler Linderbaum.
Speaker 11 (25:01):
Tyler, congrats on the Pro Bowl, just kind of how
did you find out and your reaction?
Speaker 5 (25:07):
Uh, just on social media like everyone else. Probably, Yeah
that was good. No, I guess it feels good. But
you know, we got got a game coming up on Saturday,
so I guess I'm not too worried about it.
Speaker 9 (25:22):
How do you guys handle this week?
Speaker 11 (25:23):
You know, you know, no longer in control of your
own destiny, kind of hoping for a Browns win, but
you got to take care of business on your own regard.
Speaker 9 (25:29):
How are you approaching this week?
Speaker 5 (25:31):
Yeah, just like any other week. You know, it's a
must win game, and you know our focus is on
Saturday night and and nothing else trying to.
Speaker 9 (25:39):
Get a win.
Speaker 11 (25:40):
And how do you look at it when you know
you are kind of you do have to rely on
somebody else. Do you find yourself kind of thinking about
that at all?
Speaker 9 (25:51):
I'm sure?
Speaker 5 (25:51):
Yeah, it creeps in. You know, you're hoping that Browns win.
By the end of the day, it doesn't matter if
you don't get the job done on Saturday night. So
our job is to get as pared as possible to
play a really good team in Lambeau, a tough place
to play, and and leave there with a win.
Speaker 11 (26:07):
You talk about Lambo, is there anything special for you
for playing in Lambeau in December?
Speaker 5 (26:13):
Yeah, cool experience, you know, obviously being close. I grew
up a Packer fan, so grew up kind of watching
games in there. But I won't be a Packer fans
Saturday night, that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Tyler, that you as a Packers fan. Ever in using
yourself doing the.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
LAMBA League, it was always it was always fun to watch.
But you know, hopefully we don't see any Lambo leagues
from from them on Saturday night. But you know, it's
a cool it's a I don't know how old the
stadium is, but it's a it's a cool place, gonna
be a fun atmosphere and excited to go out there
and compete.
Speaker 11 (26:47):
Who are your favorite Packers? Are their offensive lineman? Or
who are your favorite Packers? Oh?
Speaker 5 (26:51):
Shoot, there's a long long list of greats there. I
think Jordan Nelson was probably my favorite Donald Driver maybe
or a lot I don't know. Eddie lace who was
fun to watch.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Yeah, Tyler Uh, Todd was very complimentary about the run
game and just how you guys looked up tape. I mean,
I'm looking at yourself, said, how'd you feel like peple
with you guys at sunny D on the ground.
Speaker 5 (27:19):
Yeah, you know, some good, some bad.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
No.
Speaker 5 (27:23):
I don't know what we average per carry, but I
think we're putting ourselves in better position on second downs
and getting to third and shorts, which is a world
you want to live in, and you know that's how
that's how it has to be. You know, if we
get these you know, if we're running the ball, you
gotta put yourself in in good situations of short yards
and stuff like that.
Speaker 9 (27:41):
So I think we did a good job.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
We saw some presna penalties, which you're kind of rare
for you guys on on Sunday night. Was any of
that just you know, kind of smoothie now process of
coming from Lamar to the Tyler just to change the cadence.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
At any of that, I just think there needs to
be more focus, uh lack of focus and you know, obviously,
you know you gotta eliminate those because they can really
hurt a team.
Speaker 11 (28:05):
You mentioned about the Pro Bowl. I think you're the
first offensive lineman for the Ravens to go to three
straight Pro Bowls since Marshall Yanda did it. Speaking of
Iowa shirt there, just you know, to be mentioned the
same name as Marshall Yanda and kind of establish yourself
that way as young player.
Speaker 9 (28:19):
What's that mean to you?
Speaker 8 (28:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (28:22):
I didn't know that. It was pretty cool.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
No, obviously, I have a long ways ago to try
to chase down Marshall's accolades. You know, he's a tremendous player,
one of a kind, and you know, just coming here,
do my job each and every day, do what I
can for the team, and that's my approach, and I'm
sure Marshalls was very similar.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
Finally, we heard from left tackle Ronnie Stanley.
Speaker 11 (28:53):
Ronnie, can you talk about how you all are approaching
this game given the circumstances and not controlling your destiny?
Speaker 9 (28:58):
Right now?
Speaker 6 (28:58):
This winner go home. I mean, we know, Wen, it's
not up to us, but we know we don't have
a chance that we don't win, so you know, everything's
on the table. We gotta get this win.
Speaker 11 (29:06):
Is there something special while playing in Lambeau in December?
Speaker 6 (29:10):
Uh, we know it's a special place. We know the
historical significance of the field. I think it's a really
cool opportunity, especially at a night game. I think it
will be a really cool atmosphere.
Speaker 9 (29:19):
You just obviously the Marty status up in the air.
Speaker 11 (29:22):
Can you talk about the the confidence that this offense
has in Tyler Huntley when he steps in.
Speaker 6 (29:26):
I'm very confident Tyler and he has all the abilities
and capabilities, Uh, we need to to win against any team.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Runyan As a competitor, were you looking like far down
the road at the opportunity to match up with Mica
or was just kind of taking a game at a time,
And now.
Speaker 9 (29:40):
That he's out, it's it's who whoever's up the next
basically for them.
Speaker 6 (29:43):
Uh, I mean he was definitely on the list, you know,
I look at every uh and I'm gonna be go
against at the beginning of the season. But yeah, it
wasn't you know, wasn't thinking about all the time. They
had a lot of good players to play against, but
very unfortunate what happened to him, and wishing him to
speedy recovery and I know he's gonna, you know, be
back better than ever.
Speaker 11 (30:00):
When the Pro Bowl rosters came out, people looked at
you and said, well, that was one snow that they missed.
Speaker 9 (30:06):
Kind of how do you look at that and how
do you look at your season?
Speaker 6 (30:09):
You know, I was disappointed, you know, I you know,
I thought I played pretty well. Uh, you know, I
think it is what it is, the voting standards or
what they are, what they are, you know, just just
got to deal with the things that happen and just
move on.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
Running side to see Tyler being three years in a row,
just what is he kind of proven to to you?
It's the NFL large about the caliber play.
Speaker 8 (30:32):
That he's gonna hurt.
Speaker 6 (30:32):
I mean, yeah, I'm not surprised by that at all.
I think Tyler is an elite caliber player. He's an
elite center. He's uh, you know, he's top center in
the whole NFL. So I'm not surprised at all anything.
He's going to continue to do so and you know,
be a leader for us on this team.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
