Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome into the Ravens Press Pass Podcast. It is Thursday,
October ninth. The Ravens are gearing up to play the
La Rams on Sunday, and today we had a chance
to hear from the coordinators. It's kick it off with
offensive coordinator Todd Munkin.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
In watching the film, specifically about the run game, what
do you think is the biggest issue to get the
running game back to drop?

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Well, it never changes, and that is that how do
we scheme it, how do we coach it right?

Speaker 4 (00:35):
And how do we execute it? And how do we
call it?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
You know, it's all the above it It never really changes
when it's good when it's not so good.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
And that's a good defensive front.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
There's obviously a number of things we can do better.

Speaker 5 (00:54):
Todd, with the with the offensive line, just what have
you seen and how do you think they have played
to this point in this season?

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Well, I think I'm just gonna speak in general.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
We've got ourselves in a little bit of a rut. Right,
It's not just the old lie, it's just us in general.
And I'm going to refer back to what I said,
It's not just them, it's uh, we got to coach better.
We got to scheme it better, got to call it better,
got to execute better.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
And I know I'm broken record, and they're a part
of that.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Everybody's a part of that, just like we're all part
of it when it's really good, and it has been,
and so we got to own it when it isn't.
Starting with me, right, That's that's where it starts. Then
our coaches, then how do we build it together, and
then how do we get it done during the week
that that it shows up on Sunday.

Speaker 6 (01:45):
What are you looking to see from Cooper Rush? You know,
if the deed he's going to make a second strip start.

Speaker 7 (01:50):
What'd you like?

Speaker 8 (01:50):
What didn't you like it?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I liked a lot of things about what he did.
I think he handled the offense really well. I mean,
I don't think there was any from calls to him
to the you know, to the guys in the huddle
to on the field.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
We just got to do it better. We got to
call it better.

Speaker 7 (02:06):
What kind of feedback have you gotten meetings from players
about you know, you've mentioned coach better, scheme it better,
et cetera. What's been their feedback to you in terms
of some of those things.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Well, it's been great. I mean it's you know, it's
what you do. It's a week to week league, right,
I mean, it was just a month ago.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
You know, I don't know what we had against the Bills,
like the most explosive rate, whatever it was, and it
just feels like, you know, four weeks later, you know,
the sky is falling somewhere in their lives to middle
and we've got to get back to the things one
that we do well and be able to execute it
and stack places together. We just haven't been able to
do that really from the beginning of the year. We

(02:47):
were explosive or we were off the field, and we've
got to help our defense out.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
I mean, we can't.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
We can't be off the field as often as we
as we've been, as quickly as we've been. And we're
better than that. We're better than that. We're better coach is,
we're better players.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
We just need to go show.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
It is the reason why you feel like there have
there have been the stack plays and how.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Do you hang it out of the rut that, Yeah,
if it was that simple, be fixed and you know
it's it's a little of everything. It's again, like I said,
it's it's really very simple. I got to call it better.
We've got to scheme it better, we got to coach
it better, we got to execute better. It's it's never
really usually one thing, and we're certainly capable of it.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
I just talk about the mot working on that work.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
How do you translate that?

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Oh, I don't disagree with that. We're always working on
our fundamentals. It doesn't matter what position, because it does
go back to that. Okay, it goes back to everything.
When you when you're struggling, you go, okay, how do
we fix it? So that's a big word that I have. Okay,
where does it start? Okay, it starts in our meeting
rooms upstairs, the meeting rooms when we put it all together.

(03:56):
Then when we take it to the players and we
detail it out, are we all on the same page,
right of what we expect to see, what we expect
to see from the defense, what we expect to see
from our guys. And then you take it to your
individual drills, your fundamentals, right, the things that really are
the core values.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
And it's as simple as I know.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
He's blocking and tackling, but it's your footwork, right, It's
alignment assignment, your angles, your body position.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Are we in a football position? All those things are
a big part of it.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
So it's taken it from the meetings, big room, the
little rooms, and on the field fundamentals and then having
it show up in practice, so it shows up on Sunday.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
I know you've said that you guys got to do
a lot of things better. But you use the word
like you guys are in a rut right now.

Speaker 9 (04:39):
I don't call it looking like this says you've been
out here.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
I know Lamar's not out there, but how do you
I guess it's toe the line of, you know, doing
things differently from what you've done, which has work to
shine something new.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Well, that's all part of it.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
And when I said a rut, I was you know,
a rut's usually small, you know what I'm saying. And
I mean then maybe it's a ditch, and then maybe
it's a canyon.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
But right now we consider that a run, you know,
and we just got to get ourselves. It doesn't take long.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
I mean, there was there was a few opportunities come
Sunday that would have got you going.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
You know, it's like, what's going to get us going?

Speaker 3 (05:14):
What's going to be that spark, okay with all of us,
starting with me and then our coaching staff, and making
a play that gets us going because it's in some ways,
you know, it takes everybody. And like I said, I
think we're going to continue to get better with that
because we're certainly capable of it.

Speaker 9 (05:32):
Derrick Henry, he obviously he takes accountable.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
He says it.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
You know, it starts with him as well.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
What have you seen from Derek in the in the.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
First five weeks.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Well, I like the way he's practicing, like the way
he's going about his business. I mean, he's been a
consummate pro. I think he's running hard. I just don't Again,
it's a culmination of things, right, creating space, creating opportunities
because it you know, just a few weeks ago on
third and one, we had a downhill power and he
went for already one on third and one, right, and
there you go, you know, And so sometimes it just

(06:03):
takes a play here or there and you got to
get the defense worn down a little bit. You think
about some of the games we had last year, you know,
where did some of those big plays come from? And
we're no different than other teams, you know, where you
see the running backs late in the game making these
big runs.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
We haven't gotten there, right.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
We did against the Bills, but other teams we haven't
gotten there to where we've warned them down by stacking
plays and getting into drives.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
That's really a big part of it.

Speaker 7 (06:29):
The first little in game look at keithan Mitchell.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
What did you think of what you saw?

Speaker 7 (06:35):
And I mean, is he still ramping up in any
way physically or do you feel like he's ready to
help you?

Speaker 3 (06:39):
I think you'd have to ask Keaton how he is.
He looks good to me, just finding the opportunities. But
it's we had and we are always going to have
for all of our players packages, right, But it's hard
when you don't stack a number of plays together to
really utilize whoever that is right. It doesn't matter if

(06:59):
that's Derek rerunning the ball or throwing it or Keith Mitchell.
It's hard to get to those when you when you
don't have many plays.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
And then we got to do better that. That's that
that's on us on offense.

Speaker 7 (07:08):
Kind of ticking backing off that. Like you've talked about
how having all these weapons is you know a good
problem to have pierced. Does it sometimes you're scheming it
up and going through the game and so forth. Does
it ever, sometimes become a problem because you have so
many guys.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
That no, not really no, I mean no, I mean
we want our skill guys to want the ball.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
They should.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
I mean, that's that's part of the position, is wanting
the opportunity to touch the ball and help us win.
I mean, that's that's really what they want. They want
their talent to shine, and that's how they get to
have their talent shine, and we just got to do
a better better job of getting it to them.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Next up, as defensive coordinator, Zach.

Speaker 7 (07:48):
Wor So, look at this Rams offense. A lot of
moves there.

Speaker 8 (08:00):
Legally or like.

Speaker 10 (08:01):
To keep you trying to go fully down.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
What do you think the key is to trying to.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
Sol receee what keep it down?

Speaker 11 (08:07):
I think they do a good job of moving them
around so you so it's hard to get a beat
on where he's gonna line at and what he's gonna do.
I think the key is just making sure that we're
lined up correctly and we got our cleats in the ground.
Because they do a lot of motions and shift. They
probably motion more than any team in National Football League.
So we got to make sure that we were aligned right,
that we're lined quickly and we're communicating on the same page.

Speaker 9 (08:28):
We give ourselves a chance exactly.

Speaker 7 (08:31):
Okay, what was your reaction to the old way trade?

Speaker 6 (08:34):
And you know for a pass for us that's struggle
to get going anyway? What does this mean for that
group and that task of trying to get what crush
when you go back?

Speaker 11 (08:42):
Yeah, I mean I think it's part of the business
man wished off. Well, I'm excited about Low that that's
come in. He's done a great job. I mean, hats
off to him. He got on the red eye, flew
in writing practice, made plays, communicating like he was here
throughout the whole training camp. So I think that we
just had to find ways to degenerate pass for us,
even if if Doff was here man.

Speaker 9 (09:03):
So we got to get more creative, We got to.

Speaker 11 (09:05):
Be better putting stuff together, and we got to execute better.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Guess what.

Speaker 12 (09:12):
The Kyle handle said, assuming health but like for and
loaded him ahead, and that sort of had to what
you can do with Kyle and what arent pace.

Speaker 11 (09:24):
Yeah, I think it definitely adds to that because obviously,
you know, KM could play all across the secondary and
he's very effective everywhere else, not just in the back end,
but up close to the line of scrimmag So the
better players you're able to put back there in the
back end definitely freeze him up. So excited to see
if the guys can get caught up to speed by
by Sunday and see what we can do.

Speaker 12 (09:44):
I imagine, just with all the injuries the last few weeks,
you gotta be feeling like a technician is looking at
the farm like.

Speaker 8 (09:50):
Okay, A part of it's part.

Speaker 12 (09:52):
Of how has that felt, And it hasn't been perfect grinding.

Speaker 9 (09:56):
It's definitely been a grind.

Speaker 11 (09:57):
I mean a lot of a lot of the you know,
injuries that's popped up have been during the week, so
you kind of put a game plan together and you
have to you know, retool it, retwork, re organize it
and put stuff together. So but that's part of the business.
You know, we're not the only team that's going through
that that has to do that. So it's definitely a grind,
but that's what we sign up for, and we feel

(10:17):
like we got the coaches and the players to no
matter who we put out there to go out there
and play good football.

Speaker 9 (10:22):
Exactly.

Speaker 12 (10:22):
It's worship of.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
In the course of season struggling teams, it's often speculated
that major changes will happen.

Speaker 7 (10:30):
During the by league.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Are you worried about job.

Speaker 12 (10:34):
Security or do you Are you able to block that out?

Speaker 11 (10:37):
Yeah, I'm able to block that out, man. I'm honestly
not worried about it. I'm just focused on on this Sunday.
If you probably asked me last year, I probably would
honestly tell you that it would be something that would
that would bother me or get to me. But I've
grown closer in faith to God, honestly, and I know
that he's in control man, and everything that's gonna happen
is gonna be written.

Speaker 9 (10:56):
It's already done.

Speaker 11 (10:57):
All I gotta do is go out there and just
continue to work day by day and put my best
foot forward. And so I'm not really worried about, you know,
what happens. I'm just worried about finding a way to
get get a win on Sunday and and stop a
high powered offense with La coming in exactly.

Speaker 8 (11:11):
Being honest me, it just doesn't since you feel this
job doesn't it feel like it's been a week.

Speaker 12 (11:15):
Where you know your job as often expecting me to
get on and you mentioned for the adapting being close
certain state. Are there some strategies that you've learned over
the loss a year and a half to.

Speaker 10 (11:31):
You got.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
First?

Speaker 6 (11:34):
Thing?

Speaker 11 (11:34):
Like I said, I think I said a couple weeks ago.
Stay off of social media. That is number one thing, man.
I encourage you know, if something you know, if you
don't you know, like what you see on there, like
what you hear or whatever the case may be, then
you know, just don't look at it, man, cause that
that stuff can really infect.

Speaker 9 (11:49):
Your mind and your heart. But I think, man, just focusing.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
Man.

Speaker 11 (11:53):
As the older I'm getting, I'm really focusing on what's
important and what my job is.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
Man.

Speaker 11 (11:59):
That's to be to be here and do the best
I can. So it's this job already entells a lot, man,
so adding other distractions you know I've learned, makes it
even more difficult. So the older I'm getting, man, I'm
just you know, more mature and just learning. Like man,
I just gotta stay focused and stay locked in and
block out that noise and just keep my best foot
going forwards.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
You that you couldn't really maximize hiles.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Talents us in the inns that if you can power
of course the line scribish brow and then he can
help you.

Speaker 7 (12:33):
Against the roll and puts.

Speaker 13 (12:35):
Him in difficult pass for you.

Speaker 9 (12:37):
Yeah, I think all those are valid points, man.

Speaker 11 (12:39):
I mean, like I'm I'm probably the biggest r there
is Washington fan there is in this building. It's a
lot of he got a lot of fans in his building.
He's a heck of a player, He's a heck of
piece of our defense. So when he went down, you
definitely had to reorganize and see how all the pieces
and and what's the best eleven to put on the field.
But like Kam, he's gonna make an impact wherever he's at,
and you know, we just got to find ways to

(13:01):
maximize his impact. So that's something that we're definitely looking
at and look forward to doing a.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
Couple of weeks, like the last two games or two
punts first total. What are the earliest signs or what
signs are you looking for Sunday moving forward that this
is moving back.

Speaker 7 (13:18):
In a good direction.

Speaker 6 (13:18):
I mean, obviously it can necessarily fix everything overnight, but
what are the earliest things you're looking.

Speaker 11 (13:23):
For on Sundays, I'm looking for us to play with
that passion. Man, we talked about it like playing hard
here in Baltimore.

Speaker 9 (13:30):
That's just the standard. Guys are playing hard, you know.

Speaker 11 (13:33):
But we need to come out with with our own
energy and feed off of that, and we need to
start fast. Let's get a team, Let's get them off
the field early. Let's not let them go down and
drive the ball and get seven points or get a
field goal. So we need to start fast, bring the energy,
and get our swag back.

Speaker 9 (13:49):
That's what I'm looking for.

Speaker 11 (13:50):
And no matter what the situation is, when we take
the field, our mindset is we're gonna stop them, and
then if they do score, we should be mad and
trying to fix what's going on so it won't happen again.
So I'm just looking for the mindset coming in and
I think once that mindset is right, everything else will
start start getting better.

Speaker 7 (14:09):
You mentioned your level of swagger and showing.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
That on the field.

Speaker 13 (14:14):
What do you think is contributed to the lack of takeaways?
And you think you guys are close in that department,
Like are the opportunities that have been there and you
just guys haven't been able to come from.

Speaker 10 (14:23):
Yeah, I think.

Speaker 11 (14:24):
I think the first thing is we gotta we gotta
get teams into true into more true drop back situations, man,
And there's definitely opportunities to get the football. My mindset
and our mindset is, shoot, there's every time we just
what fifty sixty seventy plays being played, So regardless of
teams running the ball or throwing the ball to knock
the ball off of them, let's let's go make a play.

(14:45):
Let's get our hat on the football. So there's definitely opportunities.
Now you can do yourself, give yourself more opportunities by
being better on first down. That's what we got to
be better on, not being in second in one to
four all the time, or when we get them in
second and long, don't let them get the first down.

Speaker 9 (15:00):
Let's keep them in third and long, so where where.

Speaker 11 (15:02):
They have to try to force the ball down the field,
and that leads more mistakes. So right now, we're just
letting offenses be too comfortable, which is our own, you know,
our own problem. So we got we gotta be better
at making offenses uncomfortable by getting stops on early downs
and then forcing them to the situations where they got
to force the ball to to to move the chains.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Practice we watched today, it looked like you were a
whole lot of different drills, fast faced, moving around a
little different than what we generally see.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
During and season. That is that for takeaways?

Speaker 9 (15:31):
Is that for or what was the mindset behind that?
The mindset was.

Speaker 11 (15:34):
For takeaways and block destruction, like that's a that's that's
that's one of our issues we have right now is
guys are striking blocks, but we're we're staying on blocks
too long, like strike the guy and get rid of them.

Speaker 9 (15:45):
So that's what we're working on that.

Speaker 11 (15:46):
And then obviously we're working takeaways because that's what we
need to do. We haven't had a takeaway in what
three weeks something like that, so which is which is crazy?

Speaker 9 (15:53):
So we have to have we have to have some takeaways.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
John It said that he thinks the problems early last
year or murder to fix some un We've heard players
say that they think this is close and there's just
simple things. What do you see in specific that leads
you to believe decisions top fix and you guys can't
break guys.

Speaker 11 (16:16):
I see that guys are are in position for the
most part, and it's like sometimes it's a National Football League. Man,
there's great players that we're going against, so they're gonna
make their plays, there's no doubt about that. But I
think guys are in the right position now. It's just
time for us to go make our plays, like pull
the trigger. Like just being where I'm supposed to be
AT's not good enough. Like take chances.

Speaker 9 (16:37):
Only.

Speaker 11 (16:37):
That's only way you gonna make plays is to take chances. Man,
scare money doesn't make money, you know, I was told that.
So guys, we just encouraging our guys to go trust yourself.
You guys know what to do. You're in the right position,
go make the play. So I think that's that's why
we're so confident that we can get this thing turned around.
But we got to start doing it exactly.

Speaker 8 (16:56):
Obviously, the ball guy, Hendy thrust Over goals, I figure
that he probably imagine them to work.

Speaker 5 (17:02):
You probably imagine that some veterans and be.

Speaker 7 (17:04):
Around them telling them what to do.

Speaker 12 (17:07):
Is it is it.

Speaker 8 (17:08):
Harder or different to do anything different when you're looking
to take your game like this last one, And I mean,
do you ever take it diferent to home with rookies
that you know are put in really deep water.

Speaker 11 (17:19):
Oh no, man, I think we we've established a relationship
with all not just me as a coach, but all
the coaches here.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Man.

Speaker 9 (17:26):
We we're a family.

Speaker 11 (17:27):
So we're gonna have tough, honest conversations and we're gonna
have tough, honest film sessions. And that goes for everybody.
We don't you know, we treat everybody fair. We don't
disrespect anybody. But if you're if you're doing.

Speaker 9 (17:39):
What's supposed to do, we're gonna praise it.

Speaker 11 (17:40):
If you're not doing what you're supposed to do, then
you know we're gonna we're gonna call it out and
we're gonna correct it. And you know, the guys understand that.
And in regardless of what your status are, that's that's
what we do. We coach everybody. So the rookies, specifically
you know, Teddy and Malachi, they're they're great, they want
to be coached, they want to be good, and I
appreciate those guys wanting to wanting to do that. So

(18:01):
you know, we don't. We don't change our tone for anybody.
You know, what's right is right in the football world.
Here is right and what's wrong is wrong. So we
don't treat the Rockies no different than anybody else. We
expect them to go out there and play winning football.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Next, we heard from special teams coordinator Chris Horton.

Speaker 9 (18:26):
Good to see everyone today. What questions do you guys have?

Speaker 10 (18:30):
Chris?

Speaker 12 (18:31):
You saw the persons week?

Speaker 1 (18:34):
What did you make a man?

Speaker 9 (18:35):
You know, It's just it's exactly what I thought about,
you know what I said leading up to Whenever he
gets his opportunity, he's going to go out through he's
going to perform at a high level. And uh, he
did just that and I thought, you know, I thought
both guys did a really good job. But it's really
good to see him back out there.

Speaker 10 (18:50):
You know.

Speaker 9 (18:50):
Uh, not only that from a kick return standpoint, but
he plays some gunner, Uh, you know, beat a vice
got down the field. The thing with Keaton is, you know,
what kind of player is? You know? He really wants
to be out there and he's got it. Not He's
got his opportunity last week, and I thought he performed well.

Speaker 10 (19:07):
Chris.

Speaker 6 (19:07):
How much are you looking at the weather forecast seeing Uh,
looks like it could be pretty ugly something.

Speaker 9 (19:12):
You know, That's just one of the things we definitely
look at, and I just think we got to be
prepared and we'll prepare ourselves for the elements and whatever
they are, we got to be able. We got to
be able to handle him. So we do talk about it.
So whatever they are, you know, we just got to
be able to adjust and adapt to you know that
that type of weather, and I think our guys will
go out and and play well inact.

Speaker 7 (19:32):
You know, some of those different sort of kickoffs you
guys have been trying one way or the other, potentially.

Speaker 9 (19:38):
That could potentially have an impact on it for sure.
You know, if it's a if it's a heavy win day,
depending on where that wins coming from, right, you still
got to get that ball inside the twenty. So just
trying a couple of different kicks that definitely could have
an impact on the day.

Speaker 13 (19:52):
I forget which coach said it that I leave he
applied that the dynamic kickoff and what is expected to
kick on moneys the knucklers and getting the way of
the normal field goal stroke which hurts his own kickers accuracy.
Is that something you guys have to be vigiling about.

Speaker 9 (20:10):
Yeah, I think that's something that you have to have
in the back of your mind, right. But I think
these guys many they kick off so much and they're
so good at what they do. Obviously, if you're if
you're gonna hit a bunch of knuckleballs, it's changing how
you go foot the ball on the ball. So then
when that, if that's all you're doing that's leading up
to the field goals and things like that, you're probably
not getting as much foot the ball that you would

(20:30):
usually get, So that could have a little bit of
impact on it. But I think for us man we
do such a good job just changing it up, and
that's not solely what we're relying on. You know, we're
allowing on a couple of different kicks as well.

Speaker 14 (20:43):
Chris.

Speaker 15 (20:43):
We were the teaching points for some of the younger guys, especially,
I guess.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
They the penalty where you know, he went out.

Speaker 15 (20:49):
Of bounds that knocked out Jordan Stout something he had
like a sixty two yard finding, then you had to
retry one that was much shorter.

Speaker 9 (20:56):
It's something that we talk about as soon as you know,
when what our guys w second they get in here,
we go through just really all the new rules that
are going to come up, you know, throughout the course
of the season. And then one of the things for
the gunners, you know, we make sure we constantly harpoint.
You can't go out of bounce on your own, right,
even when you think you're contacted. Just probably a little
bit of a technique issue, but you know, that changed

(21:16):
the course of field position, right, And so any little
thing like that we want to try to avoid as
much as possible, and we're good enough to get that done.
But on the on the second part, you know, we
had to repunt. We had a good punt, we had
great coverage. You know, I think we're good enough to
go out there and just really hit another good punt,
and we didn't get that, So that really changed the
field position.

Speaker 14 (21:37):
Football fans know that traditions matter. They're what inspire us

Speaker 1 (21:57):
In the locker room after practice today, we heard from
a handful of players and looting running back Derrick Henry.

Speaker 9 (22:06):
There I know we uh, I guess it's when we
sta every week.

Speaker 8 (22:09):
But is there something that you watch the film that
you could tell that can maybe get the this running game,
which has always been very, very good, get it back
on tracks.

Speaker 10 (22:18):
Like I said last toy, executing, I mean, it's all
to come down to executing, fixing the mistakes and going
out there and having a will to do it and
will to change when the game comes.

Speaker 5 (22:30):
Derek, you want to win every game obviously, but with
this game being the last level for the bye.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Just is it any more.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
Important to to try to stop the slide.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Right now going to the bye week with or that?

Speaker 10 (22:42):
Maan, it definitely be better going to buy with a
win than a loss. But we know it's a tough
point in The Rams are a good team, got a
good defense, solid on offense, so you know it's gonna
be It's gonna be a tough matchup. I just gotta
finish a week. Finish the week, rights lock in on
every thing that you need to do to have yourself
ready individually and you know us as a team on

(23:06):
all three phases. Then so we give ourselves uh a
chance to get away this weekend. But it's gonna be tough,
but definitely be better gonna inbout with it win. There
are things kind.

Speaker 8 (23:17):
Of some of those were speaking of more than me
at someone with your own experience, what's get your messages to.

Speaker 10 (23:26):
Its Just tell 'em you know we still got a
lot uh ahead of us, and you know, you know
the only other circumstances dictate our future. Just stay focused.

Speaker 9 (23:41):
You know we can.

Speaker 10 (23:41):
We can turn this thing around and get what we
wanted to get out of out of the season. You know,
we just gotta lock in and everybody just just just
gotta do more, hold each other accountable, leaders, lead and
let it translate to to Sundays, which it hasn't. It's
the last couple of weeks. But if I told 'em
we we we just gotta keep working and I believe
that it will.

Speaker 7 (24:02):
Their pract card returns to the practice skill to that
is that you're just done a good job. But but
what are your mentions seeing pat come back and and.

Speaker 14 (24:09):
How big would that be for the offense to get
him back in the ematch.

Speaker 10 (24:12):
Oh yeah, man, Bat, that's a uh a big key
for us. You know, he's physical in the run game,
so he's been doing doing it here for for a
long time. So get him back and be all be
big and you know, you know, we get back to
role like with Black we were and you know, happy
to see him like out there.

Speaker 15 (24:33):
When do you have to talk about the execution not
being there week by week with us? Are you seeing
the little things and the changes that give you hope
and promise that that execution is coming.

Speaker 10 (24:45):
Yeah, I mean we just try to put more impasis
on it. I think, you know, as a team, as
a group, as a unit, you know, you got you
gotta do those things. But I think individually you gotta
do those things as well. See what you need to
get better at, watch yourself self on film and be
truthful and see the things you need to work on.
I know that's what I do, and I'm sure everybody
else does that, and that's the only way you're gonna

(25:06):
get better and they can get this get this thing
turned around, is be honest with yourself. Guys, holding each
other accountable, just so we can see change and things change.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
On Sunday, we also heard from tight End Isaiah likely.

Speaker 16 (25:27):
Really just we just gotta get back to the fundamentals
and just get back to winning out one elevens. I
mean that's just you know the thing about you know
these games, just you know, when you finish the games,
just how many how many times did you win? You're
one eleven, and I feel like that's just you know
what we gotta get back to to really just be
one of them.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
What do you thinks prevented that?

Speaker 5 (25:43):
I mean, because I mean, obviously there's a lot of
guys out so that you can't ignore that, but for
the guys that have been there and then maybe haven't
been winning as much as they did before, it just
seems out of place character.

Speaker 16 (25:52):
I mean, it's just really just I mean, with everybody
out I mean, it's just really just next man up mentality.
I Mean, everybody that's out there is expected when you're
one eleven, expect to do your job, whether you took
a million snaps out of there or just one or five.
In practice, I mean, when when you watch film, you know,
get out there in the game on Sunday whenever we play,
is just really just getting out there and just win
your battle.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
O say, how would you describe the billions like crazillion
mindset kind of a sense?

Speaker 16 (26:16):
For uh? I say, you know, just having all the
leaders speak, you know, this past week is just everybody
just knowing that what we got in front of us
is this week now and then again really just everybody
raised just get ready for back against the wall and
for the long haul of stretch. I mean, just knowing that,
you know, every game matters at this point. We've done
what we did to this point, and really just knowing that,
you know, division games are upon us, games after the

(26:38):
buyer upon us, and we didn't put ourselves back against
the wall to see what we made.

Speaker 5 (26:42):
Up for us.

Speaker 14 (26:43):
You mentioned leaders kind of speaking on that.

Speaker 12 (26:45):
Is that something that we're.

Speaker 16 (26:46):
To and you kind of drive home back messages this
week for sure. I mean it's just really just I
get back to the point of j everybody just being
honest with theirselves. I mean, just whether you're in the
film room, whether you're in the team meeting offensive defense position,
meaning it's just your leader speaking up and telling everybody
like it's time to kick in the year now.

Speaker 17 (27:02):
Not having Lamar is obviously tough to see the performance
without him last week in the offense, not try to
do as much as came to elevate, to try to
help out in.

Speaker 15 (27:11):
Any way possible. Was that disappointing? And then in turn,
do you guys take a.

Speaker 17 (27:15):
Bigger love with you this week if you don't have
him again to do everything possible try and leave this team,
even with how impossibly.

Speaker 16 (27:21):
I mean, everybody knows, you know, how special Lamar is
and how much easier he makes everybody's job out there,
So not having him, I mean, I I would just
say everybody that's out there just understands that you just
gotta pick up a bigger, you know, bigger job responsibility
out there where it make make those plays. I mean,
whether it's you know, you're banking on Lamar making those plays,
making a job a little easier now, it's okay if
Lamar is not not out there, just make that play

(27:43):
for yourself. I mean, it's just showing everybody that you
just gotta grow up faster, you know, not having you know,
one of those special leaders out there, it's.

Speaker 9 (27:49):
Gonna be windy and rainy on Sunday, you might mutt
things up just in general?

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Is that maybe a good thing for you guys, right
to help good? Change it right, good?

Speaker 16 (27:55):
And I ain't worry about no weather. Let's play football
and they uh.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
I know the aim is to always win, but how
is get the momentum?

Speaker 16 (28:04):
I feel like it'd be huge. I mean just you know,
getting on a win and understand that. Okay, now we're
in the win column. How do we keep building upon this?
How do we you know, stay in this column? You know,
down the long haul, the stretch city. So everybody with
the Ravens already.
