ordinary way to start the round in terms of a contest,

Freemantle proved even though North Melbourne absolutely made them earn it,

Vigo Vizentini, brother of Dante Right and Vicentini's actually been

was actually all right last week. You got a lot

home about their back line is bereft with they expecting
anyone back this week.

having the same impact as he did earlier in the
season three. I did have minus twelve and sour fifties
last week against North, so that backs up your comment
abit then not playing that well, and they've also under

listened and tend to go okay against them, but not
this week. I'm tipping three oh thirty one points.

Yeah, I'm timming fre By nineteen only because I don't
want to be too disrespect for thirty one points. Is okay,

But you know it could get out to ten goals
pretty quickly.

sort of respectable up until about halfway in the third quarter.

foot This is clearly the game of the round. Geelong
against the reigning premieres Brisbane gm HbA. Cats don't lose
too often there and the lines suddenly, I mean they've

last week they I reckon they were unlucky the week
before when they really kicked themselves out. Last week, I
think they are Their pressure on the Giants let them down.
It was a twenty eight tackles only. Can't whin it

Will Ashcroft hasn't he didn't layer tackle and he's kint
of that inside mid type player and he hasn't laid
a tackle in two of his last four games. His
brother Levi no tackles in the last three matches.

That's a concern. That's there's an attitude that needs to

who's been one of the absolute standouts for the Cats.

Yeah, well the issue with Pain, I mean he's not
the star, but I mean he's he's a good solid defender. Yeah,
Ales andrews to play more attacking. Well, you think Darcy
Gardener will go back. He did the job in the
final series two years ago, so he's an able replacement
for Pain.

He's a good depth player and he's been playing on
your foot.

So yeah, he's one hundred and sixty odd games, so
he knows what he's doing the Cats. I mean, this
gives you an idea of how well the Cats are
traveling the emergencies last week Jed Bues, Jack Bows and
Olli Henry.

Yeah, it was Bose emergency because I would have thought
he'd be straight back in.

tipsters have tipped them to win by less than seven
points or less, which makes me think that this is
fifty to fifty and this is a risk worth taking
you tipping for long. I'm tipping Geelong. But I'm saying, well,

It is hard to tip against Geelong though they look
really good at the moment. I mean they're so ruthless
when they get the ball and they're.

Running power is incredible Bailey Smith and Max Holmes. And
this is what probably not Brisbane's strong point. Brisbane tends
to cut you to pieces with their ball use, not
necessarily their running power. So I think that Geelong at
home Homes Smith Atkins doing the job in the middle.
They're actually got a pretty much full strength side from

A little bit of footy. But Geelong, I mean their
defensive systems one of the best in the competition. Think
Brad Scott was saying last week how they almost lure
you into taking kicks out of the back line and
as soon as probably in the split second as you

the gaps closed.

Yeah, Matthew Nicks was talking about it last night. Yeah,
you're right, Gelong, I'm tipping. What do you think of

Saturday afternoon, forty Carton against North Melbourne MCG this game
might be worth taking a risk.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Yeah, I wait this one up to you and again
we've all gone for Carlton. But again there's not a
lot of confidence. North Melbourne are actually not necessarily better form,
but you can see that they're building to something and
there's one of those games ahead of them that where
it clicks they get confidence.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
If you're North Melbourne, anything short of either victory or
a real narrow loss this week, you'd be thinking North
Melbourne have let themselves down, because I mean this is
a very winnable game for them if Charlie Combon plays
their full strength. They've been in good form recently, good

form in terms of they've been close to the mark.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
That was terrible against West Coast, but they won.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
But they did what they had to learn the win
that they'd be stung by the last time against Carlton
that was embarrassing and I think if there's any pride
among the players there, they'd want to try and atone
for that somewhat. So they produced another one of those performances.
Then I think the knives will be out for North Melbourne.

But I mean Carlton, they're out question Mark, Charlie Curno know,
Harry McKay, Sam Walsh, they're two pretty big outs.

Kono normally kills North Melbourne.

Yeah, both colonel and and McKay generally kick goals against them.
I think they did earlier this year.

Another six or seven goals They've got to find. Carlton
and Carlton have had struggles scoring this year. Their average
winning margin goainst North. They under Michael Voss's forty six points,
so that kind of history would no reason.

I Carleton to be honest, is they burned by what
eighty points on Good Friday something ridiculous. They I don't
like tipping now just on the base of outs because
teams tend to cover them. Even though these guys are
big outs. MKAI and Walsh and North Melbourne haven't shown

It is a fifty to fifty game, although Sydney find
it tough to win. Actually, they they got slaughtered a
couple of years ago. Was it last year?

So they're going back to the one hundred points. Yeah,
and Port Adelaide know that they can do that to teams.
I was pretty impressive the way they played. Rosie and
Butters outstanding football's Georgia just got a bit of confidence.

the week off last week?

Well, it depends what you're rushing back from. What time
is this game? Is this going to be one ten game?

Or Yeah, I'm timming Gold Coast to win. Enji Stadium
is the only doubt I have. But Giants were thrashed
by Freemantle. I think Gold Coast have better form going
into this game, even though they lost to Geelong.

They Dimmer was very disappointed after the game.

Yeah, and I reckon they'll get a response. The bio
came at just the right time, probably a week early,
and the Giants having bounced back, great win all that
sort of stuff. They've been too inconsistent.

They're so hard to predict the Giants. They win the
games that you don't expect them to win the Brisbane
and Brisbane, Geelong and Geelong and they lose the Port
in Canberra where they're usually a pretty good team game.
They lost a Frio at home as well, and three
haven't been exactly. There's still a lot of injuries. Briggs

Callen Ward huge loss. I mean he kept them in

Every time they went to. It was like they'd never

Carry out about ruck three kicks. I've got a feeling
how many x rucks are in the media.

There's not many, and how many people generally in the
public have played ruck. But there are a small subset.
You've got to be certain height. You go to be
tall to play, and they're an outlier in the population.
So that's my theory as to why ruck free kicks
don't make sense. But anyway, we digress. I'm tipping Gold Coast.

I'm disappointed that you've copied me with that tip.

Yeah, I did. I looked down and thought, oh, well,
there's a couple of reasons I'll take the Gold Coast win.
It's actually evenly spread among the semi experts.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Well that's that's good, because this really is a fifty
to fifty game. The part that worries me about the
tipping Gold Coast is that the Giants have owned them
in the in their history. I mean, apart from the
first couple of years they've it's thirteen to one, yeah,
the last fourteen the Giants.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
You go, there's another reason why the Gold Coast will win.
Because well, these are the things that when you're emerging
as the Gold Coast Sons, are you tick them off?
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Yeah. And it's the first time really in that time
that Gold Coast have been a good team. So I'm
hoping that they win for my for the sake of
my tipping.

Yepip golds case. He's the biggest closet Gold Coast fan ever.

I'll have to pick off a few others in Yeah,
he has been on the Gold Coast band wagon for

Bull Dogs should win this one by a long way.
They're the sort of team at the moment who if
you are vulnerable, they will smash you.

Now, that's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying they're
a really good team that's got good structures behind and
in front of the ball, and if you let them
get first use they use it really well.

are they. That's hard to believe, isn't it.

But given the way they've played, they haven't played lot

to cut you to pieces with their ball use, not
necessarily their running power. So I think that Geelong at
home Homes Smith Atkins doing the job in the middle.
They're actually got a pretty much full strength side from

we've all gone for Carlton. But again there's not a
lot of confidence. North Melbourne are actually not necessarily better form,
but you can see that they're building to something and
there's one of those games ahead of them that where
it clicks they get confidence.

If you're North Melbourne, anything short of either victory or
a real narrow loss this week, you'd be thinking North
Melbourne have let themselves down, because I mean this is
a very winnable game for them if Charlie Combon plays
their full strength. They've been in good form recently, good

form in terms of they've been close to the mark.

That was terrible against West Coast, but they won.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
But they did what they had to learn the win
that they'd be stung by the last time against Carlton
that was embarrassing and I think if there's any pride
among the players there, they'd want to try and atone
for that somewhat. So they produced another one of those performances.
Then I think the knives will be out for North Melbourne.

But I mean Carlton, they're out question Mark, Charlie Curno know,
Harry McKay, Sam Walsh, they're two pretty big outs.

like tipping now just on the base of outs because

And Carton have won their last two, so it's not
like they're going I know it's only Essendon West Coast

Yeah, and I reckon they'll get a response. The bio
came at just the right time, probably a week early,
and the Giants having bounced back, great win all that

and Brisbane, Geelong and Geelong and they lose the Port
in Canberra where they're usually a pretty good team game.

There's not many, and how many people generally in the
public have played ruck. But there are a small subset.
You've got to be certain height. You go to be
tall to play, and they're an outlier in the population.
So that's my theory as to why ruck free kicks
don't make sense. But anyway, we digress. I'm tipping Gold Coast.

I'm disappointed that you've copied me with that tip.

Yeah, I did. I looked down and thought, oh, well,
there's a couple of reasons I'll take the Gold Coast win.
It's actually evenly spread among the semi experts.

Well that's that's good, because this really is a fifty
to fifty game. The part that worries me about the
tipping Gold Coast is that the Giants have owned them
in the in their history. I mean, apart from the
first couple of years they've it's thirteen to one, yeah,
the last fourteen the Giants.

You go, there's another reason why the Gold Coast will win.
Because well, these are the things that when you're emerging
as the Gold Coast Sons, are you tick them off?

Yeah. And it's the first time really in that time
that Gold Coast have been a good team. So I'm
hoping that they win for my for the sake of
