Cidade Universitária de Lisboa, 10 de maio de 1962. Cerca de 90 estudantes estavam em greve de fome na Cantina da universidade após decretar luto académico em protesto contra a revogação da autonomia universitária e a suspensão do dia do estudante. O senado da Universidade deu então uma hora para que a cantina fosse evacuada. Caso contrário, o assunto passaria para as mãos da polícia. Os estudantes não cederam e a PSP entrou na cantina. Foram presos quase 100 estudantes, entre eles Jorge Sampaio, que esteve preso em Caxias durante 3 dias.
