Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh Man, Rick's about the morning, So we got a
one of all the missions.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Joseph Walker, the senior pastor of Mouzion Missionary Baptist Church, Nashville, Tennessee,
and the Presigon Mission before Gospel, mister Walker, good morning.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Good morning, Ricky in good morning everybody.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Man.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
What a wonderful song that is. And of course we
thank God for all of you. You know, this week Thanksgiving,
we all have something to be thankful for. And I
want to give you something to think about the goodness
of God over your life.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
You know.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Psalm twenty seven thirteen says I would have fainted unless
I believe to see the goodness of the Lord and
the land of the living. Let me tell you something,
God's goodness is all over your life. Sometimes we go
through seasons in our life where the Parmers David says,
I felt life fainting. You know, that's that moment when
you feel so weak and tired that you just want
to give up. You've been there, I've been there, We've
all been there. We just said, Lord, it is too much.
(00:46):
Sometimes we go through moments like David, who almost fainted
when Saul was hunting them down. Men turned against him.
The lodger almost fainted when he's under the juniper treat
He was exhausted and asked God to kill him. And Hannah,
you know, she almost fainted when she said, you know, God,
I'm so sick and tired of my rival in my
own house mocking me. Job almost painted. But you know what,
(01:06):
let me tell you what kept them was the word
of God, because he said, listen, I live to believe.
I believe to see it. When you have a word
of God, the faith of God inside of you, it
doesn't matter how tired you are. God's world is what
will keep you and sustain you in the day. I
want you to understand something. It is God's word on
the inside of you, but to keep you moving no
matter what's happening on the outside of you. Please understand this.
(01:28):
Keep your head up and trust God. And when you
understand the power of God's word, let me tell you something.
If there's anything You've got to be thankful for this season,
I want you to be thankful for the fact that
you will live to see the goodness of the Lord
in the Land of the Living. That God's gonna make
sure that you are here to see every promise he
made over your life. Let me tell you something. God's
(01:48):
goodness is all over you, and I want you to
walk in it unapologetically. If there's anything we got to
be thankful for, Rick and you know what it is.
I'm still here after all I've been through, after every attack,
after every lie, after everything that's happened. Give glory that
you're still here and that you're here. Stop adding up
your problems and start counting your blessings.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yes, sir, honest, good word this morning.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Hey, hey bitch Walker, Let everybody and I appreciate you
dropping on with us this morning like you do every
Monday morning.

can find you.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Good morning, Good morning, Ricky. It's Monday, November twenty fourth.
Here's what's going on in the news. Senator Mark Kelly
is standing by that video where he and a group
of Democratic lawmakers tell service members not to pully any
illegal orders from President. Kelly told faced the notion that
the message was simply about pushing back if the president
(03:05):
crosses a legal line.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
All we said is we reiterated what basically is the
rule of law. Members of the military should not cannot
file follow illegal orders.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
No.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
The reason why we made this video is a couple things.
This president, from before he was in office, as he
was a candidate, to the time he was in office
in his first administration, has said things that cause us
rate concern.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
The Democrats in the video, many of them military veterans,
didn't spell out which orders they were referring to, but
they reminded of yours that troops are obligated to refuse
anything unlawful. Trump fired back on truth Social saying those
lawmakers should be in jail right now. There's an update
on that Indiana mom who ended up giving birth in
a car after being turned away from Franciscan Health Crown
(03:56):
Point Hospital. The doctor and nurse involved have now been fired.
Hospital leaders say the staff failed Mercedes Wells, who was
told to go home, even though she was clearly in pain.
A viral video showed her struggling to breathe in a
wheelchair before being escorted out, and just eight minutes later,
she delivered her baby in her husband's car. The hospital
(04:18):
president apologized and announced new steps moving forward. There's also
an update from the Coast Guard after reports suggested that
it might ease up on its rules around.
Speaker 6 (04:28):
Hate his symbols.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Officials clarified that divisive or hate symbols our flags are prohibited,
calling out things like newses, swastikas, and any symbols used
by hate groups. This comes after earlier reports claimed that
the Coastcar was considering labeling those images as only potentially divisive,
prompting the service to reaffirm that the band is still
(04:51):
firmly in place. On these stories and more, Goodricke Smiley
Morning Show dot com. Now here's the lickt sports.
Speaker 7 (04:58):
What up, ladies and gentlemen? Off the plate fake, he'll
roll the pocket. He's rolling an awful lot today. He'll
set up and throw when.
Speaker 6 (05:05):
He's got a man.
Speaker 8 (05:05):
It's complete to duty inside Raiders territory.
Speaker 7 (05:08):

Speaker 9 (05:10):

as he helped lead the Browns to win a victory
over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Speaker 7 (05:19):
Man sign the game.
Speaker 9 (05:20):
You know, I'm just glad that the team rated around him.
They got the victory. Eleven from twenty had well, threw
a touchdown, had an interception.
Speaker 7 (05:30):
Here's what he had to say after the game.
Speaker 10 (05:31):
I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it a lot. Coming up

and I'm happy that was here to be able to
witness it.
Speaker 9 (05:52):
Let's go, man, Let's keep it moving downas Cowboys beat
the Philadelphia Eagles. Yep, they came back twenty one points
down to get that victory and shook up the Super

the best decision.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Oh no, I'll be pulling, you know, pulling up for
her because she's so nice and so giving and so
kind and so professional. And man, you got somebody like
that that's trying to take the knife in the marriage
to a whole nother level.
Speaker 1 (07:50):

be surprised, and a lot of people say, you know,
everybody's surprise. So we're gonna keep Candy in their prayers
in our whole family.

All right, y'all? Moving on.
Speaker 12 (08:06):

Speaker 7 (11:05):
We can rock with that.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
It's time to explain your vocabulary with the word of
the week.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Gary is gonna provide us with a new definition and
explain how to use the word in a sentence. And Gary,
what will you be expanding our vocabulary with this week?
Speaker 7 (11:17):
Well, Ricky, just in time for Thanksgiving. This week's word
is inter me dairy.
Speaker 14 (11:27):
No inter me dairy, Gary what try to interpret it
in a couple of different into my dairy.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Intermedia. Now it's the noun, Gary.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Remember it's the person now and it's the person place
their thing, trying to get.
Speaker 7 (11:44):
A personal place. I think the pronunciation is not correct, Ricky,
n t E r enter me dairy d A I
r o y inter me dairy.
Speaker 14 (11:57):
Look at look a look at the into you mhmm uh.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
And you're spelling.
Speaker 7 (12:05):
Inter me the air and turn. Put it all together,
inter me dairy. You want some milk or something?
Speaker 2 (12:14):
You look, you're looking hard at the dairy. He's so
concerned about the dairy. Yeah, but putting m E d
I A R y together m E d I A

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Oh, miss dairy spelled d A I R.
Speaker 7 (12:33):
I'm not in d I A that's what.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
I spelled dairy.
Speaker 7 (12:38):
Oh, that's diary. Well just look at the look at
the sponetic breakdown. Gary, inter me d air e. Now
put it all together, interm interm inter me dairy.

Speaker 7 (13:50):
Inter me the area.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Now give us the definition.
Speaker 7 (13:54):
Well, that's not how I look inter me the airn't
give us a definition. The definition is a meiate mediator
a person acting as a link between people order to
try to bring about a reconciliation.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Left the word people in order to try to bring
the type.
Speaker 7 (14:13):
When you see that, because I know I'd be saying
it right now, I ain't got nothing to do.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Now give us a sentence.
Speaker 7 (14:22):
Sentence if a good friend like Ricky Smodley would act

And if I want, I'm an honey, want to deal

So but ray J just in time for Thanksgiving saying
some things to his new beautiful girlfriend she People are
saying that, you know, that is so sad, y'all. And
here's what Raggie had to tell his beautiful girlfriend Sheila.
Speaker 1 (15:16):

Speaker 11 (15:17):
I love you too, but I'm not in love with you.
You're not and I never will be, just like you're
not in love with me. But they can grow to that.
Speaker 7 (15:25):
I'll never go to that.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Don't never get it twist hit.
Speaker 7 (15:29):
Isn't that beautiful?
Speaker 4 (15:30):
But it didn't even seem like there was any like
emotion on either side. She didn't seem to care.
Speaker 11 (15:38):
She's like, say this, you say it back and right
doing for the social.
Speaker 7 (15:43):
Media, what was the point of that. It's just she
looked like she could have been sedated or something, honey.
But it's just amazing though, So people just say what
they want to say nothing. And I'm supposed to still
sit here and be by your side and stuff and
love you. And you just blatantly told me you didn't
love me, honey, And don't get it twisted. I mean,
that's crazy. And I feel sorry for her. I mean,
(16:03):
I know it's a shortage in men, and in particularly
African American ones, as they say, But my god, honey, girl,
I mean, you could go to the Lady Pond and
be happier than that, if you know, then sit there
and take that from ray J. But this is what's happening.
And people are raving honey, and they're a happy couple.
And he told he didn't love him.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
But would you rather know the truth, like she can't
say you didn't tell her.
Speaker 7 (16:26):
Well, don't tell me the truth. Oh no, I don't
want to know. That's not that blatant. Don't just tell
me you don't love me that blatant. I mean at
least lie, I mean kind of fudget or something.
Speaker 12 (16:38):
At least knows how to get the people talking. And
this was something he said, Hey, let's say this. You
think that's what it sounded like they together is some
love somewhere.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
M M. I guess, y'all.
Speaker 7 (16:50):
Anyway, we're just gonna keep him lifted up in. I
think he probably still angry from being on a Rickey
Smiley show and no residual.

once a woman have a baby, she's supposed to have
another one, like what within six months later? No, nobody
ever would do that. But they say have babies back
to back.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
That's take a year for her body to hear.
Speaker 11 (17:49):
That's not good on your body. Six months yeah, really, yeah,
that's a lot.
Speaker 7 (17:53):
But what about those Irish twins? You know, I mean
that happens. We got Irish twins, Ok, no, but Irons.
I mean they back to back.
Speaker 14 (18:02):
Whatever, like seventeen months apart though it's between six months.
Speaker 7 (18:06):

Beyonce like she's scared of jay Z. Look like I
want to tell her blink two times if he says
something wrong to you. She just looked like she'd be sedated,
and like she.
Speaker 12 (19:30):

you this morning, So listen right now, we are hearing
the Donald Trump's getting ready to roll out a brand
new health care health care proposal, maybe as soon as today.
And this, of course isn't coming out of nowhere, because
one of the key parts of Affordable Care Actors is
(22:42):
about to expire by the end of the year, and
so many of you know, twenty two million people depend
on enhance ACA subsidies, and that's financial help that makes
your monthly health insurance cheaper. So much of what this
government shut down was about the Democrats supposedly fighting for this. Now,
(23:03):
if those subsidies expire, premiums can more than double next year,
double and the Congressional budget offs the Office says that
two million people could lose coverage altogether. So what's Trump planning.
What we're hearing is he wants to extend those subsidies
temporarily with strings attached. Republicans have two big objections on
(23:25):
the current system. They want to bring back income gaps,
meaning if you make above a certain amount, you don't
get help anymore. That hits a whole lot of middle
class families, teachers, truck drivers, city workers, young professionals, folks
that are already squeezed by increased costs, and they want everybody,
including the lowest income people, to pay at least something
(23:46):
in quotes each month. So right now, some plans cost
zero dollars, and then of course that helps folks living
on the edge. Trump seems to say that zero premium
plans allow brokers to gain the system and commit frauds,
which we know isn't really true. But the fix that
they're talking about the ends up making the poorest families
(24:06):
pay more. And so there's another piece. Trump wants people
to be able to take their federal assistance and put
it in health savings accounts, and it sounds good, but
we know that the catch, because they usually help people
who are already have money saved for people live in
check to check, it ends up pushing them in the cheaper,
less comprehensive plans that don't cover much when you really
(24:27):
actually get sick, and that's how people end up i
mean just insured, but broke for medical bills. So then there's,
of course, the political side is we get back into
the negotiations of whether or not you're going to have
a deal on the table that keeps the government open.
And it's not about premiums. It's about reshaping the entire
(24:51):
healthcare system. So smallest of the these more out of
pocket costs, more people push the bare bone plans and
the path to eventually overhaul Obamacare in a way that
can leave millions with less coverage and higher bills, and
so meet the same pharmaceutical companies Trump is talking to
about pressure with Most Favored Drug Nations policy. They're already
negotiating voluntary deals. But drug price policy won't fix the
(25:15):
core problem. Healthcare is about to get more expensive for
regular families unless Congress acts whatever that means. So here's
the bottom line. If you are somebody you love depends
on ACA coverage, this is going to change your premium,
your doctor, and the ability to stay insured. And so
the engagement of our elected officials is incredibly important. But
(25:36):
this still comes down to the Republicans can have their
way unless people continue to push to have some folks
in Congress that believe in.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Real health care.
Speaker 20 (25:49):
Want. I think it's important before I before I leave
with I just I really it's important for me to
talk about the passing of Jamiel Lamine. Some known them
of H. V. Brown, some of you don't know him,
some of you haven't never learned about him. But this
brother was not only one of the most electrifying voices
(26:10):
of the civil rights and black power error. He just
his life and his story is a mirror of our struggle.
He was a leader of the Student Violence Coordinating commit
Student on Violent Corninat Committee, Better on his Snick, and
later the Black Panther Party. But he really spoke with
(26:31):
a fearlessness that made young black folks feel powered and
made frankly, the US government afraid. And that's why his
life matters, because the same government agencies are targeted King
Malcolm Fred Hampton, aside of the Core, targeted him, and
for decades many have argued that he was a political prisoner,
a man whose conviction came after years of surveillance, harassment,
(26:54):
and government efforts to break his influence. Even the man
who confessed to the crime he was convicted of wasn't believed.
And so whether you know the details of his case
or his politics.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
You can't ignore his impact.
Speaker 20 (27:10):
He spent the last years of his life, his eighties,
in isolation and pain, far for the community that he served,
But even in prison, he focused on faith, discipline, and
building strong men. We should know his name, We should
speak his name if you don't know him as h
Rap Brown. His name is Jamil Alamine and he was
(27:31):
part of a generation that risks everything to tell the
truth about America when it was unpopular and when you
could be killed, jailed and eradicated. He paid a heavy
price for it himself. And so today my prayer is
just that our brother Jamil Alamine. I hope that he
finally refines science peace in this next phase of his existence,
(27:52):
a piece of freedom and frankly a justice that he
was denied here on earth. And so we celebrate that
brother today his life. All the men and women that
represent the fight that sometimes we trivialize and and and
put on T shirts don't clearly understand the sacrifice they made.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Wow, that's that's good stuff. Joff, thank you man, and Jeff.
Let everybody know how you could be reached.

Speaker 8 (31:09):

Speaker 7 (31:37):
A right here.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
You know everybody that what that one household that smell

smell like pee.
Speaker 11 (32:04):
The chance is when I say things, it's a solo.
Speaker 7 (32:11):
God's using me.
Speaker 6 (32:12):
Don't sing with me right now.
Speaker 12 (32:13):
Lord, I'm singing alone now, ma'am, with that mask.
Speaker 11 (32:23):
Let that mask work for you. I'm singing alone.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
No no iroun the morning, the tea and the color
the other day.
Speaker 7 (32:33):
Get ray, Good morning, Ricky, Good morning America. Good morning
to you. It's Monday. A beautiful bill for there in
the neighborhood. And here's what's happening in celebrity news, y'all, Ricky.
The divorce. It was announced on Friday, y'all. When I
called Candy specifically to find out what was going on,
because I got a story regarding that, you know things,
what happened to her and her marriage and stuff and whatever,
(32:54):
which Candy didn't return the call, but she made the
announcement on Friday, and you could hit it. I'm Dave
and it was sad Ricky. When I heard the news,
I cried because I love Candy and Todd Dearly. They're both,
you know, good people. They've been real good around me.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
And always showed me Nicety the stylist this morning, Why
you notice my damn song right there?
Speaker 7 (33:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (33:21):
And all we do, that's.
Speaker 7 (33:22):
All we do, y'all. And I feel Todd and Candy
are not breaking up. I feel this is a sham, y'all.
I don't feel that they're breaking up. I don't feel
that the divorce is real. I just feel that it's
just something that may be experiencing right now, because this
is the deal Todd and Candy. Honey. First of all,
Candy acknowledged Todd when she was receiving her award with
Bravo the other day. She acknowledged him, and what have
you didn't thank him? She say? Could award, you know
(33:45):
belong to him just as much because you know they've
done so much work together. And then just the other day, Honey,
Todd and Candy were together celebrating their beautiful Dollar Blaze
his sixth birthday. After y'all, this announcement was made after
eleven years. They've been together for eleven years. Who breaks
around Thanksgiving time? And that's around to be thankful. So
I just cannot believe that this is definitely happening. And
(34:05):
you know they're sending the announcement. You know, Candy, you know,
confirmed the decision to file for the divorce from Todd,
you know, December twenty first, after months of speculation. Now
they are definitely gonna coparent their kids together, and something're
gonna do, you know, joint cousin, and Candy said, you know,
with love and respect that you know, the joint appearance,
you know, with their daughter's definitely it's there there. Now
(34:26):
they're sending the couple through a beautiful snow white theme
party for Blaze y'all for her birthday, honey, after the
divorce was broken. So I just find it funny that
they are definitely gonna be divorced and whatever. I just
I just can't see that. But you know, cause they
seem to be a happy couple together, you know, after
all those tryass they may have had together, a couple
they have tryass together. Don't just break up honey and
(34:47):
just walk away. So I just it's just hard for
me to believe that. So I just think that, you know,
this may be the scheme that Toard created, but Todd
has something to say recently, you know, he has something
to say regarding you know, all this man's that's going
on that's out there. And here's what Todd had to
say for y'all.
Speaker 22 (35:06):
Women who are bosses and have all of this money
and got this extra I understand the double standard, but
I think you also need to understand the man that
you're with, the man that you chose, and you're allowed
to choose.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
You.
Speaker 22 (35:18):
You can't be so mind my mind, you know what
I mean. You have to open up within a reason.
I'm not saying going by no Bentley's and doing gummy,
but you got to invest in y'all y'all future, and
you gotta let your man feel like a man in
those scenarios.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
But well, I don't know.
Speaker 11 (35:38):
I think that's old.
Speaker 12 (35:39):
I think that's old something that they he had said
a long time ago.
Speaker 11 (35:45):
Yeah, yeah, that's not recent with you know.
Speaker 14 (35:47):
After it's still kind of awkward, an awkward statement for
him to make, looking considering his situation. People will relate
that to him because he's the man in that exact
scenari you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
So, I don't know, I.
Speaker 7 (36:03):
Mean, but so, but a woman should take care of
her man, no, I mean, you know, if she's a boss,
I mean, as he said or whatever. But I don't know,
But nevertheless, I still feel that they love one another
and they're gonna with them gonna be They're gonna co
parent the kids, so they're gonna have to still see
each other. Then what happens. So I think they're gonna
be together forever.
Speaker 14 (36:21):
And I just think, again, it's possible for people to
break up and still remain cool. Oh yeah, I mean
it don't have Ricky, when't you agree? Like, people can
break up and still some time remain cool.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
A wonderful friendship absolutely happens.
Speaker 7 (36:36):
Yeah, well good, then we'll hopefully and prefer that happens
with them because we love Todd and Candy, we love
the whole family, Mama Joyce and on Berta and all
the other people and stuff. So I just think that,
you know, right now, they just need some cooling off time.
You don't always break up because you hate the other person.
Speaker 14 (36:51):
Sometimes the marriage situation just right no longer works and
you have to have a different type of relationship.
Speaker 7 (36:57):
Oh really from that point on? Yeah, but why most
but they break up hate each other. They say they
hate each other honey and what have you. But I
don't agree with that with them. I just think they're
gonna still be together eventually, and they're gonna love one another,
and they're gonna love the kids, and it's gonna all
be a beautiful thing. So honey, So y'all just pump
the brakes, honey, and just lit Candyn Tard figure this
(37:18):
out and work it out for the children. All right,
Moving on, honey and un just celebrity news, y'all just
can while we praying, Y'alllet's continue to pray, y'all for
me and Thornton. Y'all from Housewives and Potoma, y'all. They
say she's still in jail. They say she can't afford
the bell. Carry you. You're a dirty You're so dirty.
(37:44):
You are not you are dirty. No mea, y'all from
Real Housewives and Patana, We love mea, honey.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
Mia is a.
Speaker 7 (37:51):
Sweet young lady. So dirty, they say, Baby, this girl
still behind bass. I tell her they're un able to
afford her bell. Now me, I only told allegedly eleven
thousand dollars worth of furniture and they still got this
girl in jail. She needs to be home because we'll
get out. Yeah, let's see, honey. They say man failed
to pay. She didn't pay a thousand dollars. I don't
(38:14):
know how much your bill is. Whatever. Then it's too
much for her to get out of jail. Why is
that so.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Damn I can pay that? They say about it.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
If you ain't never been to jail and you're not
in the system, it's going to take about forty eight
hours for them to put you in the system for
you to get out. Now, if you go go to
jail in a county that that you're not in the system,
you got to wait for your you know, to get
in the system in order for you to get bailed out.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
I'm sure she could get bailed out. She's just not
in the system.
Speaker 7 (38:47):
What county she was she like in Fulton County? Hell,
they system.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
She's not in the system. She ain't went the shell
in Fulton, Fulton County.
Speaker 7 (38:54):
They still do all this stuff on paper.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
They don't even have computers. Oh my god.
Speaker 7 (38:58):
Well, but they said the body count they say. Mill
appeared visibly distressed and told the office that she wanted
the furniture return. She also claimed that the messages were
asking for the idle to be put back, calling the
situation it was it was oh yeah, yeah, they say,
(39:21):
but Meal, honey, She previously note that she would not
return to Real Housewives Potomac, explaining that her family plan
to start a fresh start in Atlanta, but she didn't
realize she was gonna steal their furniture.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
And now they.
Speaker 7 (39:37):
They now, Meal remained cucrated by the case continues to develop.
Speaker 4 (39:41):
So chickled wrong.
Speaker 7 (39:45):
I love Mia, She's a real sweet guy. I love me.
We just got furn just eleven thousand dollars. The furniture.
They say, this girl was moving.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
Two end tables and the coffee table.
Speaker 7 (39:58):
And a coffee table, hunting. But the thing is but
they say she was moving at night. You know how
thieves usually moving at night. They do, I guess you
figured moving at night, they ain't gonna see the preasure
going in the daytime. When those girls got made to
their house. Honey, the house, they say, Girl, we had
the furnature. They say, Neil took it. They say, honey,
(40:25):
They say the landlord is trying to collect that Meal
and her people abruptly moved out in the middle of
the night.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
And more, girl.
Speaker 7 (40:35):
It's so bad in the middle of the night, and
removed fursture and a television that was already honey, and
Juni before they moved in. We just gotta presure we
love me girl, Honey. These girls there Potoma, they're talking
about her bad, honey, between Hune and Wendy. Baby, these
two girls, honey, missus Wendy and her fraud and Mea
and her stealing. Girl. You can't try to keep up
(40:55):
with people. You gotta live your life the way you're living.
If you're living on the damn couch. Girls lived on
the collar. Don't try to live on a sofa. Hell,
so or take it. The colaude to down is one
of my favorite color. My color today is giblet, giblet, giblet, giblet,
gibbling on the high. You say gibbling on the Lord,
(41:17):
just say greenish brown. That's your color for the day.
And y'all, it's Thanksgiving, all so let's be thankful and
keep everybody lift up in prayer because right now is
the time we need to pray and be thankful for
what we got. So your furniture draws how to be
thankful for the first you do have and not somebody else's.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
Y'all, get it up the game with all.
Speaker 1 (41:39):
Right, coming up with what shrending y'all is the biggest
shopping season of the year.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
How can you catch the best deals we got our
money experts, you're not throwing this year to help us?
Got that coming up next weeks. Aunt of the Morning Show,
Alsh Ricks Amount of Morning Show. It's officially the time
of the year when stores are filled with holiday decorations
and gifts are waiting to be purchased. With the rising
cost of living and many working with the limited income,
(42:02):
this special time of year, you know, can also be
discouraging time. Our money expertsend I throwing this back to
help us shop responsibly even with the pressure.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
To buy be on our means. You're not good morning,
Happy to have you.
Speaker 19 (42:16):
You're not good morning, Happy money Monday.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
Happy money Monday.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
And for our listeners who's been laid off, experienced the
loss of resources this year, which a lot of people have,
how can they cope you know, and still celebrate this
holiday season?
Speaker 1 (42:32):
How can we support them?
Speaker 19 (42:35):
Well, Ricky, you know we've heard the numbers. Over a
million people have been laid off already this year, and
even the people who have not been laid off, people
are really feeling the pinch of how expensive things are.
So this holiday season, you know, it is okay if
we can just kind of reel things back. Sometimes we
have to change the rules and be flexible with that,
(42:58):
not feel guilty about it, not feeling depressed and sad
about it. A lot of us are going to need
to pivot this year to be able to celebrate, not
just coping and get through it, but really be able
to celebrate and enjoy our families and for the rest
of us who have not been impacted, what a great
time to kind of check in with our family members
to see how we can pitch in a little bit
more lead the holiday season and kind of fill that
(43:22):
gap for some of our family members who have lost
jobs this year.
Speaker 12 (43:27):
WELLJ and I, what are ways we can buy gifts
on a budget for our loved ones without breaking the bank.
Speaker 19 (43:34):
Well, you know, Brat, you said the right word, which
is budget. You know, budget is not a bad word.
People seem to hate that word. It's just some guidelines
and we all need some boundaries. So it's a good
time to say, hey, this is what I can afford easily.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
Brad.
Speaker 19 (43:50):
The key word is easily. It's not going to stress
me out now, it's not going to stress me out later.
What can I afford easily, and then let's have some
conversations with our family members. If the holidays need to
look a little different, we may need to talk to
our spouses and our kids to say, hey, we're going
to have to kind of pull it back a little
bit this year because our children need to know that
(44:11):
sometimes things can be different. And that's okay too. But
please stay within that budget. And that's whether you're hosting, buying, gifts, traveling,
whatever that is. Budget is a good word.
Speaker 4 (44:24):
I hear that, so, Jani, Let's talk about Giving Tuesday,
the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It's a big global day that
encourages people to do good. Number one, how can our
listeners participate in Giving Tuesday? And also how can that
help you with your taxes for next year?
Speaker 20 (44:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 19 (44:41):
Great question, because you're right if you itemize. If you
itemize on your taxes, you can write off your charitable contribution.
But there's so much emphasis on spending and hanging out
and traveling. Let's not forget giving because we have so
many organizations that mean to us, whether it's a particular
church or college, or school or nonprofit. Please work that
(45:04):
into your budget this year to make sure you're giving
I don't care if you can only give twenty dollars,
but it's really important that we make impact this year
on Giving Tuesday because you know, the economy is tight
on these on these nonprofits as well, they're really going
to need our support.
Speaker 7 (45:22):
So Jenna, how do our listeners protect themselves from fraud
and scammers this holiday season?
Speaker 19 (45:28):
Gary, listen, we know this is scammer season coming into
the holiday, so we need to be very smart. Please
be very careful with your passwords, be very careful about
clicking on new websites because you know we're getting emailed
and texted a bunch of stuff all of the time
right now.
Speaker 1 (45:48):
You know, be.
Speaker 19 (45:48):
Careful with who you're donating to. So if you want
to check out an organization you want to donate to,
Charity Navigator or Charity Watch. Also check on your elderly
ones as well. They are really being targeted. And last,
Gary is super important, Please be really intentional about looking
at your credit card and bank activity. I want to
(46:09):
make sure you don't have any crazy charges on there
that you did not do.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
Yeah, you're going to ask that question. You'd be buying
stuff from boosters.
Speaker 2 (46:21):
Yeah, hey, web Blake Friday and Cyber Monday, Cyber Monday deals.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
Can we take advantage of this year?
Speaker 19 (46:30):
You know what's kind of sad to me, Ricky, is
it's like they've announced the majority of the sales already.
You remember we used to have this real big build
up for Black Friday. It's been Black Friday all month already.
So really, the best thing to do right now is
just really pay attention to your favorite retailers. If you're
looking for something in particular, make sure you're doing some
(46:52):
comparison shopping. But we already know it's electronics is a
big deal right now. Bigger items, you know, like furniture,
mattresses can even go on sale right now, close toys,
all of that stuff. But yeah, most of the sales
have been announced already.
Speaker 1 (47:08):
And you know rebox now.
Speaker 12 (47:14):
Thanks not yet, Thanks for that, Ricky. What are the
best apps on line? What are the best appsent online?
Tools for saving money on purchases?
Speaker 19 (47:25):
Brat. The best thing to do right now is really
to follow your favorite store. So if you have a
store that you tend to shop at a lot, please
make sure that you download their app. The other thing
that you can do is you can install like a
browser extension like Honey, which will help you search for
coupon codes when you check out at your favorite store.
(47:47):
Other apps like Spetch or Ibata, those will allow you
to get cash back in points after uploading your receipts
from popular retailers. So really, at the end of the day,
follow your favorite stores and check out one of those
browser extensions or apps.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
All right, every throwing the morning, So ay Thursday before
the time of an alli. Are we owned with you?
Not throwing? If you have any financial questions? Eight sixty
six now, ricky eight sixty six none? Are I c
k E y you are? What you're not doing? Good morning.
Speaker 8 (48:16):
My name is Gazelle.
Speaker 19 (48:18):
My husband and I have files all of our taxes cards.
Speaker 9 (48:22):
But we did not make estimate tact payments and we actually.
Speaker 19 (48:27):
Owe four than fifty thousand dollars over the last few years.
Speaker 3 (48:30):
Let's watched what options do we have?
Speaker 19 (48:34):
Hey, hey, good morning. A couple of things that I
would do. Number one, I want to make sure that
you are staying in constant communication with the I R S.
Please make payments now whatever amount that you actually can
afford to pay now if you can you if you
can get your balance under fifty thousand dollars. You can
(48:55):
absolutely apply for a payment plan with the I R
S where they're going to give you an automatic five
years to make payments. Now, I know you hear a
bunch of commercials on different people who can help. You
can call a couple of those companies, but don't sign
anything into your clear on exactly how they work.
Speaker 1 (49:13):
All right, jo Thorning, Good morning.
Speaker 19 (49:15):
How can a single female that's an empty nester being
able to save more money? Well, first of all, congratulations,
I am high fiving you through the radio. Oh my gosh,
to finally get to the point where them kids are
grown and gone. A couple things that I do to
help me. Say number one, if you were used to
(49:36):
paying the bills specifically related to your kids or a
car note that you paid off, take that same amount
and save that amount now for that bill that you
don't have to pay anymore. What has worked for me
is to put that in a separate bank, smaller bank.
I don't have a debit card. Take that money, put
it in a separate bank, and make it automatic every
(49:56):
single pay period, so that way you can get the
discipline watch that savings grow.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
All right, Joe, It's not doing, good morning, Good.
Speaker 8 (50:03):
Morning, Ricky and everyone. I'm falling to ask.
Speaker 18 (50:07):
I want to shop, but I also want to respectfully
I participate.
Speaker 9 (50:12):
In the blackout.
Speaker 13 (50:14):
Are there any minority owned retailers that you recommend?
Speaker 19 (50:20):
Hey, good morning. First of all, thank you for bringing
this up. You know I should have talked about that
this morning. You know this is a nationally syndicated show.
So what I'm suggesting everybody do, please be very intentional
and look up the black owned businesses in your area
and support them this holiday season. So no matter where
(50:40):
you live, it is not that hard to do it.
Let's use our dollars wisely because we could really impact
these black owned businesses.
Speaker 2 (50:47):
All right, joy always tonight, going, good morning.
Speaker 20 (50:51):
Good morning.
Speaker 18 (50:52):
I wanted to know is it best to consolidate your
bills or to just file bankruptcy?
Speaker 19 (50:59):
Hey, good morning. You know that answer depends, So let
me tell you what I would do if it were me.
Number One, I would absolutely talk to a bankruptcy lawyer,
because you want to find out the process, how much
does it cost, what's involved, so that way you can
actually know how that works. Secondly, I would find out
what the processes and the cost to consolidate my bills.
(51:22):
So that way I'm actually now I can make a
decision based on real information, not based on how I feel.
So do your research, then you will know what decision
to make, all.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
Right, Jana, Let everybody thank you so much for joining us,
and let everybody know how they can follow you on
social media, how you could be how they could get
in touch with you, because I'm sure a lot of
people are gonna.
Speaker 1 (51:43):
Be eating you up.
Speaker 19 (51:45):
Absolutely, you can reach out to me at Jeni Thornton.
That's j I N I T h O r N
t O N that's social media and my website, and listen, happy, happy,
happy Thanksgiving to everybody that is hey, thank you to
not throwing y'all?
Speaker 2 (52:00):
All right, all right, Rick, the amount of money show
ay and uh it is Thanksgiving week.
Speaker 1 (52:05):
In uh yea favorite time of the week for a
lot of people.
Speaker 2 (52:09):
Everybody loves celebrating Thanksgiving on some of our problems and
already start uh cooking or dicing up vegetables, dising up
your Holy Trinity. You ain't doing nothing else right now.
You're cutting up your onions and your bell peppers and
your celery. So you could just start cooking and uh,
getting your your your your cilantro, your time, your uh,
(52:30):
all that stuff.
Speaker 7 (52:30):
Man.
Speaker 2 (52:31):
So we just excited. I hope everybody's going to have
an exciting Thanksgiving or whatever. Hope everybody's gonna be respectful.
Don't bring nobody to nobody house and day, what if
people don't know them. Don't do that, don't do it.
Don't talking about the slick manipulative words. They cool, they cool,
they're cool with you. Good, then they come in your
(52:53):
house with all that weird awkward energy and all all
that kind of stuff, man, And just be appropriate man,
you know, don't leave a tissue hanging all the way
down to the floor. Roll the tissue back up, get
your tisshe off and roll the tissue all the way
back up and just look at things like okay, this
was like this.
Speaker 1 (53:11):
Put the tables back up to the chairs. Come with
a cord or a bottle or wine or whatever you
on'ly have to bring.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
No food if din on require, but just some kind
of show of appreciation like doctor Collier does. Just classy,
somebody that you would love love to have back. But
that bringing different people because you're in a different relationship
every year, and now every year we got to look
forward to a new person coming because you can't keep
a man or a woman or you always got to
bring somebody. It disturbed my spirit, It irritates me. It
(53:39):
ruined my whole Thanksgiving. Don't bring that's the thing. And
don't PLoP down on people couch. Let me tell you something.
We're gonna do a class on how to sit on
a couch. We're gonna do a whole class how you
fall and you just politely sit on the FurNation. People
that PLoP down on folks couches to the point where
the feathers and stuff popping up in the air, like
(54:01):
like like home home to the problem with life is
just home training. And then we have to interact with
the people that did not get any home training. And
that's where the conflict comes in because we like, oh
my god, cleaning up, offering the help, offering to take
the garbage out. Is there anything I can do, anything
that you need, you know, all all kinds of little
(54:22):
stuff like that. Just be just do all things decent
and in order. So, uh, how y'all y'all want to
send this up? So so I'm gonna play this clip. Hey,
if y'all get a chance. Make sure you play my
Hulu comedy special throughout your homes on Thanksgiving. Make sure, yes, uh,
make sure you watch it because the closing is gonna
(54:44):
be great.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
It's gonna be so appropriate.
Speaker 2 (54:46):
I need everybody that's gonna watch a movie after the
game go off on Thanksgiving, make sure you watch the
Hulu special called Foolish. Go to Hulu and click on
Foolish and play that entire movie for your family and
you would have a happy Thanksgiving. And I appreciate all
the support. Hey, y'all makes you y'all take our Foolish
(55:09):
on Hulu and watch the entire special.
Speaker 7 (55:11):
Man Afray to what you think?
Speaker 1 (55:12):
Oh my god, is that not real?
Speaker 7 (55:15):
It's so real?
Speaker 9 (55:16):
That real.
Speaker 2 (55:17):
That's what we're doing all this week. So y'all get
all that food ready. I know the grocery store is
going to be bad boy. I'm going to go hit
when Dixie right now from page right here, what ap Afridas?
Speaker 7 (55:28):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (55:28):
Ricky? It's Monday, November twenty fourth. Here is what's going
on in the news. Last week, we talked about that
shocking attack in Chicago where a pregnant mom and her
son were jumped by a group of kids. Well now
a marilynd mother speaking out after she and her two
daughters were ambushed in Cambridge. She says a group of
students boarded a school bus that wasn't even theirs, just
(55:50):
to ride to her stop and attack them. Other parents
had to step in to stop it and she is
now demanding answers on how that plan got past school officials.
The district says it's investigating elsewhere. More than three hundred
students have been kidnapped from a private Catholic school in Nigeria.
The children are between ten and eighteen, and about fifty escaped.
(56:12):
The mass subduction comes as President Trump warns the US
may take military action in Nigeria over recent killings of Christians,
blaming what he calls Islamic terrorist and newly unsealed court
filings accused Meta of ignoring sex trafficking activity on its
platforms in a lawsuit against multiple social media companies. A
(56:32):
former Instagram safety chief said accounts once got as many
as seventeen strikes for trafficking reports. Seventeen strikes. The filings
claimed Meta knew millions of adults were messaging miners harmful
content that wasn't being removed, and risks to teens were downplayed.
For info on these stories and more, Goderickismiley Morning Show

Speaker 1 (56:57):
I showlm Mandy. It's a gentlemen.
Speaker 9 (56:59):
How about to Dallas Cowboys come back win last yesterday
over the Philadelphia Eagles twenty four to twenty one. Cowboys
beat the Super Bowl champs. Hey man, they look good
last couple of games. I gotta give it to him, man,
but ceedeelamb gotta stop dropping passes.
Speaker 7 (57:13):
Man, you better that big.
Speaker 9 (57:15):
You gotta stop dropping. I think he dropped three of
them last night. Kana City Chiefs Man, they keep they
playoff hopes alive. They beat Indianapolis in overtime. That was
a big win for them. I think they six and
five right now. Chicago Bears they continue to roll.
Speaker 21 (57:29):
Man.
Speaker 9 (57:29):
Bears ain't three though they ain't three. Quarterback Caleb Williams
is sign got at first. I wasn't all the way convincing.
He showed had three touchdowns yesterday and shout out to
my Detroit Lions.
Speaker 7 (57:42):
They came back and beat the Giants and the Rams.
Speaker 9 (57:46):
We had to put the Rams in the Super Bowl
because Matthew Stafford is balling damn Stoppord.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
But that's the best quarterback in the NFL.
Speaker 9 (57:53):
Right now, come on now, thirty touchdowns only two interceptions,
he's uh, he's.
Speaker 2 (57:56):
And I mean he make it look easy. He got
a good offensive line and he taking them second.
Speaker 7 (58:00):
There is a part like it ain't nothing. Like it
ain't nothing. But can we talk about Cleveland brown quarterbacks?
Speaker 14 (58:05):
Your door?
Speaker 7 (58:05):
Sanders.
Speaker 9 (58:05):
In the Cleveland Browns beating the Raiders twenty four to ten,
he was eleven for twenty two hundred and nine yards
through for one touchdown through an interception.
Speaker 7 (58:14):
Here's what he had to say after the game.
Speaker 10 (58:15):
I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it a lot. Coming up
here before, y'all, I ain't six some months ago. I
couldn't tell you I'll be here. You know, God only
the only way I'm able to even get through everything,
you know, being able to see my family that was
important and I'm happy that was here to be able
to witness it.
Speaker 7 (58:36):
Yeah, man, I mean it is what it is.
Speaker 9 (58:37):
So if they put Dylan Gabriel back in after his
concussion protocol, it's gonna shake it up, pick it up.
Speaker 7 (58:43):
I'm trying to tell you just keep your door in.
It's kind of right out the rest of the season.
Speaker 6 (58:48):
Man, it is what it is like.
Speaker 7 (58:49):
He showed some good promise, solid performance out there. I'm
rooting for your door. It's my quick sport support right there.
Bratt got the hot spot right now after the hot spot?
Speaker 1 (58:57):
What up? Brat?
Speaker 3 (58:58):
What up?
Speaker 11 (58:58):
Ricky? Good morning, every boy.
Speaker 12 (59:00):
I'm your girl, Bret Tat, Tatta, this is the hot spot.
But we bring you music, movies and more. So let's
get off into it well, y'all. Ja Rule was involved
in an altercation at Barclays Center doing Monica and Brandy's
concert The Boy's Mind, and turns out that the rumors
he got jumped are completely false.
Speaker 11 (59:16):
Wo wom.
Speaker 12 (59:18):
The incident was first reported by blogger Tasha K, who
claims he was allegedly jumped outside of a New York
City restaurant.
Speaker 11 (59:25):
Say Less.
Speaker 12 (59:27):
Jar Rouh later addressed the report on social media and
posted to the following posted on excuse me, He said, Tasha,
why you lie to these good people. Yes, someone tried
to jump me, No it wasn't, as say Less, And
I'm chilling at home smoking a joint, watching SVP with
not a scratch on me.
Speaker 11 (59:44):
Here's what he had to say.
Speaker 1 (59:46):
Don't walking to the stage, sneak me.
Speaker 21 (59:50):
Snucker punched me from behind. Three tried to sneaking three
punk ass test And I'm just saying it happens. It
could happen to anybody. Your staff is to play is
to them, real to you know what I'm saying. So anyway,
don't get no points for that, no real points for that.
Tried it, you know, but but whatever.
Speaker 12 (01:00:09):
Well, Tasha then corrected herself on Instagram, admitting she had
the place wrong. It wasn't a restaurant that she said,
it was a video for the service, allegedly showing Job's altercation,
and later John Rue posted a clip of himself laughing
off the rumors and roll believe half of what you
see and none of what you read were good over here.
Why was somebody just punched our room just out the blue.
Speaker 8 (01:00:30):
For no reason?
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
What was Yeah? I don't understand why this generation people
just do what they want to do. That's the problem.
Speaker 11 (01:00:42):
Yeah, if he'd had a gun and shot somebody and
then somebody.
Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
Was dead, did yeah he would have been Yeah, he
would have been wrong, and nobody would have talked about
what calls the gunshot.
Speaker 11 (01:00:52):
Yeah, my goodness.
Speaker 12 (01:00:54):

they found a hole in my heart. So I had
