The show opens with a nationwide chill as the U.S. braces for record-breaking freezing temperatures thanks to a powerful arctic blast sweeping across much of the country. Forecasters warn that more than 200 million Americans will be plunged into sub-freezing conditions, with many regions expecting historically cold highs and lows this week. Against that backdrop, celebrity gossip heats up: recent headlines claim actress Zoë Kravitz left a pet python behind in Taylor Swift’s mansion — a story that resurfaced just as winter conditions worsened. The segment has the hosts joking, worrying (for the snake), and wondering how wild fame gets when pets and parties mix.

Jumping from pets to partnerships, the show dissects news that reality-star Kandi Burruss claims her estranged husband’s prenup is invalid, insisting he’s not being faithful — a revelation that ignited debate about trust, money, and marriage under public scrutiny.

Good morning, Good morning, Ricky. It's Thursday, December fourth. Here
is what's going on in the news. It is beyond
cold and millions across the Midwest are waking up to
record breaking cold. A blast of Arctic era from a
polar vortex is dropping down from Canada today and tomorrow,
and many places won't even come close to thawing out.

(02:41):
Today is highser forecast at twenty nine in Pittsburgh, seventeen
in Chicago, in just thirteen degrees in Minneapolis. The deep
freeze is expected to hang on through Friday, but it
could be worse. The polar vortex could hover actually over Canada.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
For the next two weeks.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
In other news, all National Guards members deployed in Washington,
d C. Are now carrying weapons. The Pentagon made the
call after last week's shooting near the White House that
killed one service member and critically injured another. Guard troops
will also begin joint patrols with local police as security
ramps up across the capitol. Elsewhere, House Democrats dropped a

(03:20):
new video from the property known as Epstein Island, giving
the public its closest look yet at the infamous compound.
Now the footage shows the grounds, the buildings, and even
a heavily redacted version of Epstein's phone list, and Democrats
say there's more where that came from. As they push
to make the remaining material public. Meanwhile, Epstein's longtime associated

(03:43):
and convicted sex offender, Glaine Maxwell, is thawing and trying
to clear her way out of federal prison early. Her
lawyer is told a judge that she plans to challenge
her detention. That's a move that could open the door
to a brand new trial. Maxwell is currently serving a
twenty year sentence in Brian, Texas after her twenty twenty

(04:06):
one conviction. Brinvile on these stories and more. Goodie Ricky
Smiley morningshow dot com. Now here's a look at sports.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 7 (04:16):
Well, former, and I do say former LA Clippers star
point guard CP three is no longer with the team.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
He's literally been kicked off the team.

Speaker 7 (04:27):
Allegedly, Chris Paul's style of leadership had become disruptive and
he's clashing with the head coach, tylu So. CP three
recently announced that he was gonna be retiring at the
end of the season. This is his twenty first season.
So now that we're gonna sit back and wait and
see who's gonna pick him up. I can see, in
a weird way, Lakers. I can see Lebron saying, man,
come on over here and just hang out. Maybe the
Houston Rockets, but uh yeah, man, CP.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Three is no longer a Clipper.

Speaker 7 (04:51):
Tonight Thursday night football, huge NFC matchup, man between the
Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
My Detroit Lions.

Speaker 7 (04:57):
I'm a little bit concerned about my Lions, man, because
we ain't looked like ourselves over the last couple of few,
last couple of games. And coach Dan Campbell, come on, bro,
look we believe they got a Cowboys Thursday.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Yeah. Absolutely, that's tonight. Oh yeah, it's tonight. How you watch?
Come on, man? And I'm not as much as I
too my horn about my Lions.

Speaker 7 (05:18):
I'm I'm not so sure the way we're currently playing
that we can beat the Cowboys tonight, man, because the
Cowboys is probably highest team in the league right now.
So we got to get back to playing our running
gun style of offense. Just be free, let golf throw
the ball around everywhere. Stop trying to be too strategic
and be perfect with the offense. Just play our game,
Just be wide open with it, and then we'll live

(05:39):
with the results. Whether it's good or bad.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
It is what it is.

Speaker 7 (05:42):
I got the rest of my Rocky NFL Picture the
Week coming up later on this morning. Stay tuned for
that Good morning.

I don't know, but that don't mean you know. That
don't mean nothing because I don't know them if they're
doing they things. So I'm cool with this list.

Now, I'm watching enough snake videos. If I saw one,
I know how to handle it and not get called
up in it.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
And I'm watching. I got a lot of education on it.
Have you ever left a snake at anybody's house? Lost
a snake?

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Happy Founders Day to you, Joe.

Speaker 11 (18:43):
Thank you big brothers.

Speaker 13 (18:44):
Listen, I want to say happy anniversary, Happy Founder's Day
to all of the members of Alpha Alpha Attorney Incorporated.
And today Rick is actually my Alpha versary. Uh so
big up to my LB's delta out the Lambda Chapter
baltim More, Maryland. I'm just a proud member of this
noble fraternity. Brother, Listen, it's weird. There's the Kaiser Family

(19:11):
Foundation this week released a report and it lays out
I don't even know if they're shocking disparities in maternal
and infant health, but they're consistent in their shockingness, which
almost just makes it not only terrifying, but irritating. It

(19:34):
gave numbers to show that black mothers are diyned the
rate of their white counterparts. I mean, and I'm talking
about when we look at these numbers, y'all, it's forty
nine point four deaths per one hundred thousand lives births
compared to fourteen point nine deaths for white women. And
this isn't about income or education. The data shows the

(19:54):
disparity is the same when black women have higher income,
more education, better insurance. That means This is systemic bias
and unequal treatment, not personal choices. Number two, black moms
are more likely to experience preturn bursts, low birthway, babies

(20:15):
delayed prenatal care, and that leads to another heartbreaking fact.
Babies born to black mothers are more than twice as
likely to die in their first year of life. And
again that's not about biology, it's about access care and
how mothers I listened to and then thirds there's one
black mother that put it like this. I kept telling

(20:35):
the nurse something was wrong. I said I couldn't breathe.
They told me it was anxiety. And by the time
they took me seriously, my blood pressure had spiked and
I was headed to the ICU. She survived, but she
almost didn't. And these are not irregular stories. They are
happening every day, And so the report makes it clear
like these outcomes come from structural inequities, racism in healthcare,

(21:01):
and system unequal access to quality maternal care, and policies
to continue to limit or cut back on support. And
we keep addressing it, but it's still enough. And so
I think that there has to be a place where
we are literally giving people messages almost scripts that you

(21:21):
have to use when you go into see your your
your doctor. And if you're with black women, there's some
that call to use the ask, tell and ask again
message like ask, can you explain what's happening? Tell she
is in pain and this is not normal for her,
Ask again, what is the plan to address it? And
it slows down, room, it slows, it's it show, it slows,

(21:46):
excuse me, and and forces medical staff to respond clearly
that bring an advocacy card. And this seems so unnecessary,
but you got to communicate prefaces, key health concerns, consistent language,
emergency contacts. It reduces confusion and keeps mom's needs front
and center. And lastly, using escalation scripts like in most

(22:08):
cases we're trying to de escalate. Hell no, we need
a second opinion right now, call the attending position immediately.
We believe this is an emergency. This actually activates hospital
protocols that can save our women's lives. And so I
know these are alarming, y'all, but they're consistent. These are
not new numbers.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
And so I just I mean, I know that.

Speaker 13 (22:36):
You hear these numbers all the time. We've talked about
these numbers all the time. But they just don't change.

Speaker 5 (22:42):
Well, we talked about a woman just a month ago
who was at the hospital in labor and they sent
her away and she had the baby in the car.
You know, I think we get lower quality healthcare wherever
we go. And not to mention the weathering effect, you know,
stress plays a huge role living with discrimination in inequality.
You know, over a lifetime, that wears the body down.

(23:02):
It's actually there's a there's literally a term called the
weathering effect, and it's like when when something is in
bad weather, it rust.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
That's what happens to black women.

Speaker 5 (23:14):
And then we go in the hospital and we say hey,
we're sick, and they're like, no, you're not taking ask.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
For And I think that's I would love to do
a whole segment on that jump. But I think I
think that you and alfredis we should definitely do a
whole segment. Then we get doctor Klia on the phone.
You make those points and and and let's create a whole.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
A whole conversing.

Speaker 13 (23:33):
There's a whole I want to high I want to
highlight Black Mama's Matter Alliance. That's an amazing place to
get information. The National Black Doulah Association they have a
directory of black doulas and trainers connecting families to the
folks that are competently cultural, culturally competent. And then the
Black Women Health Imperative that there are other organizations, but
those are some and check this out, y'all.

Speaker 11 (23:55):
The one thing that could change is doctors listen to
black women. Yeah, listen to them.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
And absolute That's what I was about to say. We're
gonna have to start going to doctors that understand black health.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
This will I agree, you know, I got that.

Speaker 11 (24:12):
In the meantime, shut the hell up and listen. Yeah,
it's a simple thing.

Speaker 13 (24:19):
Nobody their body more than these women listen to them,
and we got to roll in with our sisters and
advocate for them.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Y'all.

let me know what you're experiencing. Is we do a
special segment on this, we would love to hear your voice.

Speaker 18 (27:43):
The white boy came on the truck like we brought
us a piano, and I've been I've been working on
this since whole piano.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
What's our game for the piano?

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Huh?

Speaker 2 (27:52):
What's your game for the piano?

Speaker 18 (27:55):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Or breakdown?

Speaker 16 (27:56):
We'll fit it out a breakdown. Look.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
Yeah, it's pretty good, man, it's amaz. You ain't know
what I've been working on. This said when said money boy,

Speaker 16 (28:47):

what you say. Hold on, I'm gonna stop.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Yeah, you're lying, that's no I've been.

Speaker 16 (28:56):
I want to come up there and play for y'all.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Wow, all right, Rickon By the Morning Show in the
top of an hour, Gary has the tea in the canoe.

Speaker 10 (29:04):
The other day, what up, Gary, Good morning, Ricky, Good
morning America, Good morning to you. It's Thursday, a beautiful
day in the neighborhood, and here's who's having it in
celebrity news, y'all. I am still crying faster than praying, y'all.
But what's happening with Candyn Todd?

Speaker 13 (29:18):
Y'all?

Speaker 10 (29:18):
One day this is gonna be open and everybody's gonna
be happy and they're gonna be back to a family again, y'all.
But it's being reporting, y'all that Candy Bird is stepping
y'all into an emotional reality and as to fall off
from her breakup y'all with Todd Tuk.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
It becomes more visible now.

Speaker 10 (29:32):
They're saying the source close to the situation, said y'all
that the marriage had been strained for months, and Candy,
y'all was stunted, honey, when she learned y'all that Todd
had allegedly been communicating y'all with other women. Now they're saying, quote,
Canyn Todd had been having marriage troubles for a while.
Now Candy was not hand it because she found out
that Todd had been talking to other women behind her back.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Now that's what the source.

Speaker 10 (29:56):
Told people exclusively, saying that Candy had no idea, y'all.
Now they're saying, neither carry this team nor Hard had
addressed the accusation publicly, but Birds did confirm y'all that
she officially filed for The Voice, Honey on November the
twenty first. Now people are out here comment in regarding
that and being messy, and I just think it's just ridiculous.

(30:16):
They can talk about but how can't they go sit
and say she didn't know was talking to other women
and they used to have threesomes. That don't mean he
was communicating with them. I mean they could have just
all been allegedly together and just having been friends or whatever,
So that don't mean he was allegedly communicating with other
women behind her back.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Rickey, I mean you got to work with them, you know,
working together. So many people work for them. I don't
know if they're working the ones or not when they
were having alleged tryass.

Speaker 10 (30:44):
But I mean, you know you haven't tryads. I think
for most dudes, Tad, there's another way being nice about it.
Who's spraying that spray?

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Yep, I don't know I smell spray.

Speaker 7 (30:58):
I'm saying I think most guys that you having a
you know, situation like that, guys might in their minds
think that anything they do is justify she's cool with this.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
Yeah, you know, guy's gonna he.

Speaker 7 (31:11):
Ain't gonna communicate that, but he's gonna be like, well,
you know we did this last night, So watch you
tripping about me talking to some other ship that that's
what happened when you open the door to that kind
of thing, you real really, yeah, you're slipping down. Its
spotting out better than the regular.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
What you don't want to do that the add on
coming there with that you messed up got to be
ugly teeth, right, she wouldn't be with no messed up teeth.
You ain't got the.

Speaker 8 (31:41):
Kiss her, but I don't want you. I heard you
say before he could put a bag over that face.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Yeah, I heard you.

Speaker 10 (31:54):
Want to deal with that while you ain't got set
to look at it, you just touch you.

Speaker 6 (32:01):
I want to get it.

Speaker 7 (32:09):
Sounds for me, it sounds like face butterface there you God,
that goes there right there, bright, and she's looking in
the other direction. And no matter what you look like
you got, there's only one in there. Look at the

(32:30):
other one that's right facing the purpose happened to three.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
So if you can't look at.

Speaker 6 (32:36):
Her, you ain't got to look at her to get
that thing.

Speaker 7 (32:40):
You're going to the breaks you have feeling faces.

Speaker 10 (32:49):
That's right for winding that taste. But anyway, y'all, we
just gonna sleep them lifted up in proud. You know, bro,
We're gonna keep all parties lift up in pro because
it's a very sad mama right now.

Speaker 6 (32:58):
So I just I want them to leave candy alone,
Candy bothering nobody.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
When somebody somebody was bothered when they was doing nothing.
So we're gonna keep on go ahead.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Comedian comedian big Son Locke. He said he did the
three and two Old ladies.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Said, one of them had to get up. One of
them had to get up and go check on her greens.
She missed, she messed up everything.

Speaker 7 (33:27):
He kept getting able to go check on her greens,
check on that stupid that was the crop.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
And then the other one fell asleep while the other
one was gone, and he was just laying there.

Speaker 7 (33:47):
The other one went to sleep while she was ever,
they went downstairs while Vivy and was still in the bed.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Vivvy and I got sleepy. I ever went down and
checking on the greens, he said as she came talking
about So, I don't do that anyhow. My leg don't
go like that. What did that? My leg don't go
like that? The Lord to dad, and one of my

(34:14):
favorite holod to day, y'all is cherry Lac on the herd,
you say cherry laclore and on the Lord just say
beautiful red. That's your y'all. Had never seen comedian Big
Sean from Detroit from the It might not.

Speaker 13 (34:32):
Be something like that.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
It's something like that. Somebody is gonna check off the brace.
I said, hold on, oh lord, clak, what we do?
I got ahead and got them back.

Speaker 19 (34:48):
Now they say something my leg don't go back like that,
say my name Gladys, Oh my god.

Speaker 6 (35:03):
Wow, she has y'all.

Speaker 5 (35:06):
About eighty five percent of parents with school age children
say they talk to a teacher about their child's progress
in the past year. Now, according to statistics, engaged parents
can also reduce student suspension rates, and parental involvement is
also linked to increased academic achievement.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
So this morning we're going to know how do you
teach your kids' life lessons at home? Or do you
believe that it's the job of the teachers in schools.
One thing they don't teach is phonics anymore. Yep, they
do not teach phunnis well anymore.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
How do they teach you to read?

Speaker 3 (35:39):
I don't know, but but it's not it's not the
technique of punnings. And this this comes from Donna. Duke's
my classmate that owns her her own school. She is
tutored my key all of my children from Brandon all
the way down to the twins. And we can get
her own man, because she's a education She was our
high school and college the valedictorian. We went to high school,

(36:01):
elementary school, high school and college together. And when she
break down, break all of that stuff down. You would
be surprised that lady is not. I have taken the
iPads from the kids when they're in the car because
they don't have any sense of direction.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
You get kids three or four miles, they can't tell
you how to get home.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
Come on, dog, and I make them point, I said,
point me, okay, show me how to get home when
we get down by target, leaving out the target or somewhere,
show me how to get home. And I make them
show me, Like my granddad usaid, where are you? I'm
on two eighty, I'm on first Avenue. Teaching them because
we give them those iPads to entertain them and they're
not getting the sense of their surrounding and anything else.

(36:47):
And that lady was right about the names and the
phone numbers. My grandmother phone number was five ninety five
nine oh six, so my great grandmother number was five
nine one seven eight three eight.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
My other grandmama number was eight four nine seven three
eight five.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
Since i i'm like like to this day, I can
I know all of my grandmothers and uncle's phone number.

Speaker 7 (37:06):
She mentioned about teaching kids the parents' names. Your kids
do need like when they're two and three years old.
They need to know you other than mommy and daddy
because they get separated from you somewhere. They need to
be able to say, well, what's your mama and name?
My mama name is Kathy, or my mom and name
is whatever you know, not mama, my mama named the mama.
Like teach your kids your name, your real name.

Speaker 15 (37:26):
And you know.

Speaker 5 (37:27):
Another reason why kids, me and I know how to
get around is becausehen we were little, we rode our
bikes all the way to the store.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
We walked, we rode across the city. We're afraid to
do that.

Speaker 5 (37:37):
Now, Like we're not letting our kids, you know, ride
their bike up to the grocery store.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
Bike what you just explained.

Speaker 7 (37:44):
And my son he just recently turned sixteen, so he's
driving a little bit now, so I always made him
put his phone away while why he's in the backseat
of the car. So I say, hey, man, get us home.
And he looked at me first, like, because no, GPS,
give me that phone. We ain't gonna get them. You
shouldn't how to get home from here. And I made
him dry, so I ain't gonna be Yeah, I don't
care how many left the wrong turns you may and

(38:05):
he got us home.

Speaker 12 (38:06):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
Yeah, it's important. They have to know their surroundings. They
have to know first name, last name. Teach them to
the phone numbers, you know last name. My granddaughter said,
what's my name? She said, Ricky, smile the morning show.
That's different. She'll be three on on Sunday. But this

(38:29):
stuff is so so important, y'all hit us up at
eighty six six nine, Ricky eight sixty six nine are
c k e Wyde just wanted we want to know.
Do you teach kids life lessens at home or do
you believe that that is the job of teachers in schools.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
Good morning.

Speaker 17 (38:45):
Hey, my name is Misha and I'm calling from Fort
Lauderdale and I teach minds at home because I feel like,
you know, if learning starts from home first, and another thing,
you ain't gonna go to school and the barras me,
you gonna know, you gonna know that stuff before the teachers.

Speaker 11 (38:58):
Tell it to you.

Speaker 6 (39:00):
It is jazz and Saint Pete.

Speaker 17 (39:02):
I absolutely one hundred percent encourage parents teaching their kids
at home.

Speaker 13 (39:07):
At home, it's important.

Speaker 6 (39:09):
They need to be taught not just by the teachers.
Love out of the parents as well. Double involvement is
helpful for the kids.

Speaker 17 (39:15):
My name is Marsha. I'm calling from Houston, and I'm
teaching at home and it.

Speaker 16 (39:21):
Should not be solely on the teacher.

Speaker 6 (39:24):
There are basic skills that kids should learn at an
early age.

Speaker 15 (39:28):
Oh, I'm Dorian from Collinsville. I teach my kids at home.
I feel like single parents myself. I teach my kids everything.
They get up in the morning, they brush their teeth
by themselves, they get their own clothes ready, they make
they lunches for school in the morning. I teach mine
to be as self sufficient as possible and that that's
gonna help them out, you know, as they getting older themselves.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
And I have something to say on the other side,
and I'm gonna say it, and a lot of people
gonna get mad at me for this.

Speaker 15 (39:57):
Now.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
I don't tell nobody how to raise the kids, but man,
unraised children have a negative effect on other people who
have good home training. And that's where the class comes in.
In public, we're gonna be talking more about it. Y'all
can hit us up at eight six six nine rica
eight sixty six nine.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
Are I c k E Y.

Speaker 3 (40:14):
We'll be taking more of your phone calls coming up
next week Smetery Morning Show, Somebody Morning Show. We're talking
about parents engagement when it comes to their kids education.
And you know we we we taking your phone calls
eight six six nine, weka eight sixty six nine.

Speaker 7 (40:32):
Are k e y.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
Yeah? But ricky okay.

Speaker 10 (40:36):
I mean, y'all may get upset, but but y'all not
honestly feel it is the teacher's responsibility to teach the kids.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
It is not algebra.

Speaker 10 (40:45):
Yeah, charity starts at home. Well, charity starts at home.
But that's why the teachers are teachers to educate the
children off their educational stuff.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
But there's certain things that they need to know, like
their name, life's rights, and right skills and how to
get home.

Speaker 16 (40:58):
Well, y'all know what.

Speaker 8 (40:59):
A teacher shared list of basic skills that were once
considered standard milestones for elementary age students.

Speaker 6 (41:04):
She posted a message on TikTok, and lots of plarents had.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
Some to say.

Speaker 8 (41:08):
Many argued that these deficiencies speak more to the quality
of the parenting or lack thereof.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
And this is what she said.

Speaker 14 (41:14):
Ten things kids no longer know how to do And
I don't know why number one. Read a clock with confidence.
Number two, write in script number three. Memorize phone numbers.
They don't know their parents' numbers. They don't even know
what apartment they live in. They don't know what street
they live on. I'm talking about third graders, y'all. Number five,

(41:37):
they don't know how to count money anyway. The next one,
they don't know their parents' names. I'll ask them, what
is your mom's name.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
They'd be like, I don't know.

Speaker 6 (41:46):
You don't know your parents' name, y'all. I don't know
what's happening.

Speaker 9 (41:50):
I don't know parents.

Speaker 6 (41:51):
If y'all can help us out, we need to go
back to basics.

Speaker 14 (41:54):
Can you please help these kids out because they'll come
into the classroom lacking the basics, and it's a problem.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
My friend just text me and said, they don't know
their own name. She be thinking their name nukenok, whatever
their nickname is. That's what a lot of them think
that their name is. They don't know their real name.
And another thing, we.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
Got to get back to teaching kids manners.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
So I'm running round to a lot of adults that
don't have manners and they don't know to teach their
children manners, good morning, how are you?

Speaker 2 (42:26):
Nice, to meet you? Thank you? And please?

Speaker 3 (42:28):
You know, asking kids what they want. That's why this
is how you kill an entitlement. You know, do you
want this or do you want that? Instead of using
words like would you like? Would you like a snack?
Would you like some fruit? And then if you say
would you like, they would say I would like as
opposed I want you talking about all these Karens that
I hear, all these people with their time, I want

(42:49):
this want that's a demand. You know, teach children how
to be polite and good morning, and how are you?
And thank you and please and just basic coming sense
and common courtesy is so important whatever, because you want
people to say, man, these are some of the most
polite and when your child is polite, that make people

(43:10):
want to help them and they're gonna go a lot
further if they're polite and respectful.

Speaker 9 (43:15):
So and what you're saying. But when you said take
the iPad away, my conversations with my kids changed. They
remember things. They remember that all of the like I
started looking at like, oh man, I feel like a
bad parent because I was pacifying them. I remember we
be the airport, I to give the kids the iPad

(43:36):
and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (43:38):
And now to keep them quiet, to.

Speaker 9 (43:39):
Keep them quiet, and you know, but now it's like, no,
you don't need an iPad when you get on the airplane.
You don't need a iPad in the car. And we
have real conversations.

Speaker 3 (43:48):
And it's okay for them to sit in church and
watch a church service without an iPad. It's okay, so
they can get a feel and get a sense of
the Lord. And kids not going to Sunday school anymore,
and that's why they ain't scared of nothing. They don't
have no fear of anything like the fear of God.
Ain't no more church, ain't no more Sunday school, you know,
in church with the iPad and stuff like that, and

(44:09):
not getting the sense of you know, the Holy Ghost,
the Holy Spirit, the past of praying and all of
this stuff is so so important to their development.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
Let's go to the phones. Eight six six nine, RICKI,
good morning.

Speaker 11 (44:22):
My name is Cleo Brump.

Speaker 17 (44:25):
Please rent, and yes, I teach both at home and
hope that teachers are teaching the same thing or will want.

Speaker 6 (44:32):
Us to be on the same page.

Speaker 12 (44:34):
I teach mine basic skills at home, but parents definitely
don't have students that can read but don't know how
to open up smacks, don't know how to put on
their cult simple basic life skills, they have absolutely none. Yes,
I'm calling from Baltimore and Maryling, and I think that

(44:56):
parents needed to see children at home before they come
to school.

Speaker 13 (45:00):
Two.

Speaker 15 (45:00):
Well, Cleveland, you're absolutely correct.

Speaker 9 (45:03):
They need to learn these basic skills.

Speaker 15 (45:05):
My son, he is sixteen.

Speaker 11 (45:07):
I was letting him drive.

Speaker 7 (45:08):
I'm like, okay, you want to try a phone and
he's like yeah, So we take this out every day
and he's like, which way do I go?

Speaker 15 (45:16):
Huh. I'm like, because he's on his phone all the time.
And as far as that's finance, they're not learning products.

Speaker 17 (45:20):
They're learning to read from memory, so they're learning words,
but they're not learning how to found them out.

Speaker 15 (45:25):
Everybody trying to work together these kids on the nothe Yes,
this is trade.

Speaker 6 (45:30):
Calling from Fort Lauderdown, and I believe it's a community.

Speaker 15 (45:34):
It should be done at home and in the schools.

Speaker 17 (45:37):
But I do believe that the parents are responsible for
a lot of the teens that need to be taught
and learned by their kids.

Speaker 3 (45:45):
See, we get busy on our phones and trying to
cut down on some of the time that we spending
the kids. With the kids and the interaction or whatever.
You know, sometimes we as paying. We got to put
our phones down too, put our phones down so you
can spend that quality time and time with the children
and having conversations about certain stuff.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
Okay, where's that? Okay, which way do I go?

Speaker 3 (46:06):
I promise you, every time I get get close to
the house, I'm asking them to leave me and show
me how to get home. And I'm really gonna work
out and then think about the phone numbers, and I'm
gonna work on that and work on you know what
I'm saying. They need to know my number. They need
to know their mother phone number by memory. Anything happened.
They can give somebody a phone number so somebody can
text or call or contact the pairing. This stuff is

(46:28):
so so important. We should definitely be having more conversations
about this, y'all. More ricks somebody of the Morning show
coming up, lose.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
Head, lunch, entertainment step.

Speaker 6 (46:38):
It's the front page on the Ricky Smiley Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
A job. We got trump page right here, Afrita.

Speaker 5 (46:43):
Is good morning, Good morning, Ricky. It's Thursday, December fourth,
Here is what's going on in the news. A new
report says War Secretary Pete Hegseth may have put you
as troops at risk by sharing sensitive attack plans on
signal That unclassified version comes out today. It's just the
latest example of Hecset's aggressive style. He's the same guy

(47:04):
who authorizes US forces to sink suspective Venezuela and drug boats,
and now he's pushing the Pentagon to move fast on
battlefield tech. Case in point, the military's first squadron of
suicide style of tack drones is launching in the Middle
East as part of Hecset's new task Force Scorpion Strike.

Speaker 12 (47:22):
Now.

Speaker 5 (47:22):
All of this paints a picture of a war secretary
pushing speed, willing to cut through red tape and get
new tools in the field, but also sparking questions about
how far he's willing to go. In other news, President
Trump is rolling back fuel economy standards, undoing Biden era
rules that would have pushed cars and light trucks to
about fifty miles per gallon by twenty thirty one. He

(47:46):
says the tougher standards would only jack up car prices
and push buyers toward priceier ebs Forwards, GM, and Stilantis
are loving the move. However, critics say it slows crime
and climate progress and raises fuel cost, keeping the US
stuck with older, dirtier technology and check your fridge. The

(48:06):
FDA says shredded cheese Ricky sold under multiple store brands
like Great Value at Walmart, Good and Gather at Target,
Happy Farms at all the others across thirty one states
in Puerto Rico may contain metal fragments. The bags have
sell by dates from January through March twenty twenty six,
so there's a good chance some are still sitting in

(48:26):
kitchens right now. For invery on these stories and more

Speaker 6 (48:32):
Now here's a look at sports.

Speaker 7 (48:35):
Ladies and gentlemen. Is that time for rock ty NFL
picks in the week? Oh yeah, the sports genius is
back in the building. I don't give you the olva
oda nda. I'm just gonna tell you who gonna win
the damn game.

Speaker 13 (48:46):
Ha ha ha.

Speaker 7 (48:48):
Oh tonight, big game tonight on Thursday night football Dallas
Cowboys going into Detroit to play the Lions.

Speaker 16 (48:54):
My Lions.

Speaker 7 (48:54):
I'm a little bit nervous and concerned about my Lions
because we ain't playing like we need to play. I
don't even know if we can beat the Cowboys tonight.
But I'm a Lions fan, so I'm going with the Lions.
Pick us to win the dog on game. Miami over
the Jets, Baltimore Oprah, Pittsburgh, Champa, Bay Beach, New Orleans,
Indianapolis over Jacksonville. Cleveland Browns will find a way to

(49:16):
Big Tennessee. Minnesota over Washington, Seattle beats Atlanta, Buffalo over Cincinnati,
Timper Broncos over the Raiders. Green Bay Packers will beat
that red hot Chicago Bears, Rams over Arizona. Kansas City
Teams too beat Houston. The LA Chargers will beat the
Philadelphia Eagles. Yes, I said it. The Eagles are on

(49:40):
the downfall, Baber. That's all of my pick in a
week right there. If you got a problem to win it,
follow me on social media now, rock te holla. I'd
have to say, what tell me the Eagles on the
down ball that they got some disruption going in that
locker room. They gotta fix it, man, They don't fix it.
They still solid, but until they fixed that whole mental

(50:01):
side that's going on.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
It ain't ain't gonna happy, big dog. We're gonna see rock.

Speaker 7 (50:05):
That's all I got, man. Brad got the hot spot
right now. Let's get it poppy spot. Drop it like
it's hard, Drop it like it's hards.

Speaker 6 (50:15):
At the hot spot at.

Speaker 2 (50:19):
By that time's having a hot spot. What up, Brad?

Speaker 15 (50:22):

Well I forever First Lady Michelle Obama just gave the
boys mind to his biggest co sign yet. Missus Obama
attended the d C stop of the tour feature in
Brandy Monica, Kelly Rolling and Maya, and after the show,
she posted a message saying to Brandy Monica, Kelly Maya
and the entire crew, you all did your thing last
night in DC. She wrote, such a beautiful evening of

(50:50):
love and sisterhood. Thank you for sharing your gifts with
all of us. Y'all make me proud to be a
black woman in America. I will see you soon. And
speaking of Michelle Obama, she's preparing her with her to
turn her lifelong love of style into a fashion empire
with the lunch of her new clothing label, Obama Ware.

Speaker 6 (51:09):
The collection is inspired by fashion what you think, Gary.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
I think No. I was yawning. It was cute.

Speaker 6 (51:14):
He was yawning at my story.

Speaker 2 (51:16):
Yes, sad almost uh.

Speaker 8 (51:22):
The collection is inspired by fashion trends from the eighties
and will feature sharply tailored suits, sleek executive looks, exaggerated
shoulder pads, wide lapels, roomy trousers, and boardroom ready dresses.
The release date for obama Ware has not been announced,
but I will definitely.

Speaker 2 (51:40):
Keep you it just women. She's not doing me inline
or she's just doing a woman's line.

Speaker 6 (51:45):
It seems like it's just womenism right now.

Speaker 8 (51:47):
Yeah, unless you want to wear white lapels and exaggerated shoulder.

Speaker 2 (51:50):
You remember paths back in the day, hunters one.

Speaker 8 (51:54):
Of them suits and look cute because you see me,
you know you could probably fit one of them women's suits.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
All right.

Speaker 8 (51:59):
Moving on, Apple Music rolled out their twenty twenty five
Replaylist of the Year yesterday. Unvailing Drake is the most
popular artist on their platform this year, but Kendrick Lamar
is Grammy winning dis track Not Like Us, It's the
biggest rap song on.

Speaker 6 (52:14):
Apple this year Apple Music.

Speaker 8 (52:16):
So the beat between Kendrick Lamar has resulted and Drake
has resulted in billions of streams and even a Super
Bowl halftime show from Kendrick. And while not Like Us
it's the most streamed rap song on Apple Music this year,
it was also the number one most streamed song on
Apple Music last year.

Speaker 6 (52:32):
So I guess congratulations go out to both of them.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
Yeah, they're not gonna let Drake.

Speaker 10 (52:37):
They are not gonna let children Lamar do nothing by
himself without Drake with that situation.

Speaker 8 (52:42):
Like, they're not gonna detach the day from the this stuff. Yes,
he didn't come out with no new music yet I
don't think so. Probably when he does, they'll detach it.
I mean, he gonna always be remembered for that though,
because that was a historic this and it did get
him a lot of things.

Speaker 2 (52:57):
Did they do that for Drake because of his pirade?

Speaker 8 (53:01):
