Ricky Smiley and the Ricky Smiley Morning Show family. This
is the Bishop himself, Marvin Sap And I'm grateful to
have this opportunity to be able to share and to
be able to pray with you all, to declare and
decrease some things over our lives as we move forward
in this particular season. So let's go before the throne
of Grace, Father, in the name of Jesus. In spite

(00:44):
of the challenges our nation is facing, the unrest, the anger,
the fear that we find ourselves in, Beloved Father God
that sits high and looks slow, we want to begin
this day with gratitude. Thank you, Thank you for life,
thank you, thank you for health, thank you for family
and for hope. But Lord, we also want the wisdom

(01:06):
in this climate where words are being.

Speaker 5 (01:09):
Used as weapons.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
God, we pray that you would guard our tongues rather
that we do not curse our own futures or damage
our brother or our sister with careless speech. Help us, Lord, God,
help us to speak life into our communities, encouragement into
our families, and hope into our nation. Father, released favor
over our today and open doors of opportunity, restore broken systems,

(01:35):
and let righteousness rise in the land. We declare that love, gratitude,
and grace will shape the way that we live as
well as the way that we speak.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Thank you, Thank you, Lord, Thank you, Thank.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
You for causing us to recognize and realize that we're
not out of control, but that we're in control.

Speaker 2 (02:23):

Vessel Church in Fort Worth, Texas.

Speaker 6 (02:29):
Muse Entertainments on the Ricky Smiley Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Got you right here at this good morning.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Good morning, Ricky.

Speaker 7 (02:40):
It is Friday, September twenty sent Here's what's going on
in the news of Virginia. Grand jury as indicted former
FBI Director James Comy on charges of lying to Congress
and instructing justice. Now he's accusing him of misleading while
he's being accused of misleading lawmakers about the FBI's Russia probe.
Comy had confirmed the Bureau was investigating possible Trump Moscow

(03:02):
ties while privately keeping notes on his talks with Trump.
All those moves and raised Trump and cost Comy his job.
Here's what Trump said yesterday.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
I can only say that Koby's a bad person. He's
a sick person.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
I think he's a sick guy.

Speaker 7 (03:18):
Actually, Trump fired him in twenty seventeen, blasting him is
the worst leader in FBI history. So Comy fired back
with a book claiming Trump demanded loyalty like a mob boss,
tried to sway the FBI, and obsessed over the pe
tape rumors. Remember that Chicago may Or Brandon Johnson blasted

(03:38):
Trump over the endictment, and if it were not for Jesus,
we might have heard something different.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
I really want to.

Speaker 8 (03:44):
Call him a name, but my Lord and save for
Jesus christis asking me to just stay saved.

Speaker 7 (03:52):
In other news, TikTok will continue to operate in the
US after Trump signed an executive order yesterday. The deal
facilitates the sale of TikTok to a group of American investors,
so the app's US operations will be run by a
new company. TikTok's current owner, China based byte Edance, will
hold under twenty percent of the restock in this new company.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
So TikTok is not going anywhere.

Speaker 7 (04:13):
But the real danger might not be losing the app,
it's in losing your perspective. Psychologists say what you follow
online could be shaping how you see yourself in the mirror.
Research shows social media is strongly tied to eating disorders
and unhealthy habits. The images and accounts we scroll every
day end up defining what we think is normal. Psychologists say,

(04:36):
hit unfollow on pages that make you feel bad about
your body, skip the toxic feeds, and maybe give yourself
a break from scrolling altogether. For info on these stories
and more, Gudrickismiley Morning Show dot Com.

Speaker 5 (04:48):

forty one years old in December and he will be
entering his eighth season with the Lakers. Lakers just extended
the contract of head coach JJ Reddick.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
So Lebron has no signs of slowing down.

Speaker 9 (05:18):
And guess what, his youngest son, Bryce is starting to
heat up a little bit.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
And Bryce may be better than Brown.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Yeah, yeah, I agree with that.

Speaker 9 (05:27):
Bryce may be better than Bronnie. So can you imagine Bryce,
Bronni and Pops all playing together at the same time.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yeah, it could happen. Though, it could happen.

Speaker 9 (05:36):

Vegas versus Indianapolis.

Speaker 1 (05:41):

the Seattle Seahawks Man for several years. Man just announced

Speaker 10 (06:35):

this is the hotspot. But we bring you music, movies
and more. So let's get off into it, well, y'all.
Tina Knows recently revealed that she is all Retta working
on a new book. As reported, Miss Tina, mother of
superstars of Solange and Beyonce, released her best selling memoir
Matriarch earlier this year, and now she's giving insight into

(06:57):
what fans can expect from her follow up project. And
here's what she had to say.

Speaker 8 (07:01):
You know, I'll do these things on Instagram where I
see a picture on Instagram and I'll say, oh my god,
I remember that night we left the shoes and we
had two left shoes, and she wrote, she walked the
red carpet with one and so it's kind of behind
the scenes stories, but then there's a lesson than every
one of them.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Oh, I love that.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
That's gonna be pretty cool.

Speaker 10 (07:20):
Would y'all be interested in hearing what's going on, what
happened behind the scenes with Beyonce.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
And s Lunch?

Speaker 5 (07:25):
Absolutely?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Yes, me too.

Speaker 5 (07:27):
I know she got some stories.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
What you say Garry for dinner and everything. I love that,
you know what.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
The right motive?

Speaker 10 (07:40):
Yeah, Moving on, Carrie, Serena Williams and Shakrrie Richardson are
starting in a new campaign from Nike's collaboration with Kim
Kardashian Skims.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
That's right, the Nike Skim collection.

Speaker 10 (07:52):
It's blended with Kim Kardashian shapewear vision, and it's with
Nikes Performance Edge, redefining athletic apparel. It has over ten
thousand outfit combinations, and it's designed for all athletes, from
professionals to everyday movers.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Now.

Speaker 10 (08:07):
The debut line is out now and it will be
available on both Nike and Skim's websites along with select
flagship stores in New York and Los Angeles. Other athletes
featured in the campaign gymnast Jordan Childs, snowboarder Chloe Kim
and golfer Nellie Corter. So congratulations go out to Kim
Kardashian and Nike. That's kind of like the perfect combination

(08:27):
because her stuff is like fitted and it's for like
body supporting stuff like that. So what you think about.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
That, Ricky?

Speaker 2 (08:35):
I mean, they already got some bad stuff. I'm just
so excited about that.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Have you ever been to the Nike store in New York?

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Yes, yeah, yeah with that basketball goll the women's collection,
got some stuff, and my daughter in there. The women's
collection is damn there amazing. It's almost like a Nike
mixed store mixed with Zara. They got the coats, they
got the boots, they got all all of that.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Stuff, full outfit.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Man.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Yeah you really can.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
So if you are like a Nike collector like I am, Uh,
that's that's good stuff. Man.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Butt them to come out with some dope.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
They got jeans, they got church clothes everything.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Now yeah, Nike.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
He got got like little suit coats in the in
the pants and the dress pants and all that stuff. Yeah.
So that's what the people that's running for Jesus scared, Wow, Jesus.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
And got tired yeah, come on now.

Speaker 10 (09:35):
And last but not Lisia, y'all, did he return the
court yesterday and he is seeking to overturn his two
convictions for transportation related to prostitution. The defense attorneys argue
that Diddy's intent for freakosts was voyeuristic, not for profit.
Prostitution means one person paying to have sex with another person.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
However, did he was.

Speaker 10 (09:54):
Someone who paid to watch two people have sex voyeurism
reverse the sexual pleasure game forching others while they are
naked or engaged in sexual activity. His defense team says
that the escorts participated voluntarily in private recordings of Prosecutors
counter that Didy orchestrated and profited from the encounters of

(10:15):
directing sexual activities and transporting individuals across state lines. So
senencing his schedule for October third, with Diddy's legal team
requesting a sentence for no more than fourteen months, which
would effectively account for the time already served.

Speaker 5 (10:31):
All right, y'all, we're gonna wrap up the hospital of
that note.

Speaker 10 (10:33):
But for more information on these stories and more, you
can go to Rickeysmiley morningshow dot com and you can
catch me on all my social media.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
So so Brett Afrad this good morning, Good.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
Morning, Ricky. Listen to this.

Speaker 7 (10:42):
I know this is near and dear to your heart
and many of us here on the show.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
Just a year after student died.

Speaker 7 (10:47):
During Omega Sci Fi's intake process at Southern University in
vat Rouge, the fraternity's caught up and yet another hazing scandal,
this time at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
According to a lawsuit, student rap Fiel C.

Speaker 7 (11:01):
Joseph says members of the new Ata chapter beat him
so badly.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Sorry, take it to.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Okay, freez get a teller.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah, I'll read it. I don't have no problem reading
and I'm a cue. According to a lawsuit, student Raphel C.
Joseph says members of New Ada chapter beat them so
madly during their April twenty twenty three hell night that
he needed emergency surgery and a blood transfusion.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
In months of rehab, he later dropped out of school.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Joseph alleges that from December twenty twenty two through April
to twenty third, fraternity members attacked them multiple times on
and off campus.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
The abuse reportedly sent.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Them to the er twice, with one incident leaving him
hospitalized for nearly two weeks with bruised ribs and muscle damage.
The lawsuit names on Mega soft Fire, University of Southern Mississippi,
the interium, associate director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, and
several chapter members as defendants as as as defendants. Joseph

(12:18):
claims that he reported the hazen to the university, but
nothing was done. He's now suing both the school and
the fraternity for damages. And uh uh, I'm a member
of this uh organization and uh and I just want
to say for the record, Omega soft Fire was not
founded on this stuff right here. This is not what

(12:41):
our founded, set forth and founded out great organization owned.
And then what has happened was gang members with the
game mentality somewhere at some point have infiltrated our great
fraternity and started.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Doing stuff like this.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
And it's like you paying dues and up, and we
can't really do a whole lot of stuff in the
community we like to because we forever paying for lawsuits
and attorneys. One insurance company is representing the Divine nine
and once that insurance company pull out, it will be
no more. So keep putting your hands on people. I

(13:18):
spoke about this at the undergraduate summit in South Carolina
and Columbia South Carolina some years ago.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
If I'm not mistaken this with well, I.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Think it was either Atlanta or Columbia South Carolina or
the unopposed the keynote speaker.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
And I said, it's a matter of time.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
It's just a matter of time that somebody gonna go
to the trunk and get a stick and wipe out
a whole chapter for putting your hands on people, Stop
touching pledges.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Stop.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
If anybody want to be your brother, why the hell
would you beat him? Why would you beat somebody that
want to be a brother and be a part of
your organization for what? Because the man if he make
it to college. You know how many people grew up
with their stepdad being on them, and being on their
mom and and and coming from abusive situations just to
even make it to college and wanted in looking for

(14:13):
a brother and a father figure and a fraternity like
I found. I found brothers, I found father figures, I
found nephews, I found little brothers in the fraternity. I
found it. And I'm happy with them and I love them.
I love them.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
On the shield and off the shield.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
I don't even have to talk about on making stuff
when I get around certain brothers because our relationship is solid.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
I don't have to throw up the hooks. I don't
have to grip up nothing.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Just a relationship that I have developed over these twenty
five years. And to see stuff like this, when that
little kid I played the trumpet, I was.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
I was the young man that.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
He reminded me of Caleb remind me of myself playing
the trumpet in the band, and wanted to be a
member of a make us our five fraternity incorporated. I
don't understand it. I don't know what happened. I don't
know who these people are and how they have infiltrated
our great organization, our great organizations all over the country.

(15:12):
Different fraternities and different sororities are being kicked off of
campus for violating hazing policies.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
What do you want us to do?

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (15:21):
You know, Ricky, I know a couple of people.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
You represent a you're a member of Doctor Sigmund Theta.

Speaker 6 (15:26):
Yeah, And I know a couple of people pledging right now,
and I have some serious conversations with them, saying, you know,
if you feel like you are in harm, like for real,
for real, just leave, get out of there. When you
want something so bad, and people have that in their
possession already, these pledges are doing all they can to
get what they want to get.

Speaker 5 (15:47):
They're trying to reach that goal.

Speaker 6 (15:48):
And when you have that power over someone, if you
don't know how to, people abuse that power.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Yeah, well yeah, exactly.

Speaker 6 (15:55):
Yeah, And so that's what happens when you really I
don't judge the people who go through it because they
really want to make it.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
They're really trying to get that goal.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (16:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
And it ain't just about the green letters, you know, TJ.
It's about some of the connections that you have once
you get into your adult life or whatever, and is
meaningful and it's helpful to you, you know what I'm saying.
But this stuff, it just has to stop. And we're
going to be talking more about it.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Thank you, t J. Mar Ricue smile of the morning
show coming up.
