Speaker 6 (01:12):
It's Wednesday, a beautiful, beautiful day in the neighborhood. And
here's what's happening in celebrity news.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Y'all rigga. I'm telling y'aw the prayer warriors.
Speaker 6 (01:19):
Are definitely being solicited, y'all for media mogu Taler period. Now,
first of all, I'm gonna say this, I don't know how, y'all, people,
rich people, big celebrities could let certain people just come
into your space and you try to help them out
and do things for them, and they wind up coming
out saying just vicious things, honey, and then filing lawsuits
against you.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Now he's being reporting, y'all.
Speaker 6 (01:40):
An actor Derek Dixon, he spoke out yesterday, honey, in
his first television interview y'all since following a lawsuit against
media mogu Tyler period sharing allegation y'all of sexual harassment
and assault. He says he endured y'all from the billionaire
now mister Dixon, who filed a two hundred and sixty
million dollar losses against me the period. June, he sat
(02:01):
down with ABC Life Angle Missus Lindsey David y'all to
discuss his allegedly complicated history with the media mogus, saying
he did not want to stay silent about this anymore.
He say, couldn't take it anymore. He said, even though
it's a vulnerable thing to talk about he said, it's
been hard, he said, there's a lot of shame around this,
he said, just trying to think what you could have
(02:22):
done better in having to deal with the judgment of
how you could have ended it better without being in
this situation. Now, Miss Perry, who produced y'all, twenty four
future films, twenty stage plays, seventeen television shows, and two
New York Times best selling books, y'all owns one of
the largest film studios in the country, Tyler Perry Studios,
and has also earned a spot y'all in a Bigionness Club,
(02:43):
according to the website.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Now the MOGU.
Speaker 6 (02:45):
Also received y'all the John Hertsharped Humanitarian Award y'all for
his support through large scales donating to the NAACP, which
Tyler Perry has helped so many people, y'all, so many people,
in particular African Americans.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Now they're saying.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
Dcon says that he first I met mister Perry at
a studio opening party back in twenty nineteen while he
was working at an event company.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Now.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
According to mister Dison, mister Perry asked him if he
was an actor and gave him his number and said, well, honey,
let's talk about this. But back in also twenty mister
Dixon landon the row, y'all Tyler Perry, listeners gave him
a raw honey as Dale in Perry's BT series The
Oval appearod in eighty five episodes between twenty twenty.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
One to twenty twenty five.
Speaker 6 (03:26):
Y'all A careal movie, y'all, there, he said, was something
he always dreamed of. But according to the Silver Complaint,
when Dixon was working on the show, mister Perry began
sending text message to him with some being sexual in nature,
and here's what he had to say.
Speaker 7 (03:41):
Can you explain that first alleged incident.
Speaker 8 (03:43):
I got into bed and then I noticed that he's
hunt in the bed with me as well, and started
rubbing my leg, and I jumped up out of bed.
Unless someone's been through something where they have their control
over their bodies taken away, you don't really understand the
kind of feelings that you get in that moment.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
That's what he said.
Speaker 9 (04:02):
You're a grown man, though, how you get the control
in your body taken away? If you jumped up out
the bed, supposedly, why didn't you just leave?
Speaker 10 (04:12):
I shouldn't spend the night over there to begin with,
everybody go to bed locked their bedroom door.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Even in my house. I'm like, I'm I'm like, I
don't know, I just love.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
To do it.
Speaker 9 (04:23):
But like, it's what happened to what he did? He
lose his role because people.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Getting when he got shot on the show, his role
that was killed. Okay, but I think this is.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
Almost looked like Michael Jackson all over again.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yes, is spooky.
Speaker 9 (04:40):
Yeah, people come out the woodworks and this is and
and I'm not saying I don't know what happened, but people,
it seems like that's the thing to do today. Come
say something that somebody did something to you. And because
the person doesn't want to get smeared or made to
be sound like such a horrible person.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Then then they settle so they get something.
Speaker 9 (05:05):
They might not get what they getting sued for, but
they might get two hundred thousand dollars a check. And
I hate the way today.
Speaker 10 (05:14):
It feels like a shakedown when there are real people
out here that's really being victimized and going through stuff.
And then now anybody get mad about anything and you
connected with a pastor or convenient or radio personality or
or a singer or a rapper and you think that
you can get something other than your original severance pay.
(05:37):
Then that's like they say, Hey, Rick, don't even do it.
Speaker 9 (05:42):
I just Perry does so much for people, and he's
one of our heroes that that, you know what I'm saying,
that helps a lot of people. I'm not saying he's
an angel. I don't know what he does, but it.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Does seem like that time and a lot of them.
Speaker 10 (06:00):
Lawsuits be frivolous and a lot of the time people
will agree just to make it go away.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yes, but I tell you one thing about me.
Speaker 10 (06:08):
We're gonna we're going to try, We're gonna I'm not
giving you five dollars, We're gonna fight, We're going to trial.
You're gonna have to sit there and explain that to
a jury. You know what I'm saying, Because the thing
about it is it ain't about the money.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
It's just the principal. Yeah, and you're being publicly humili
that's one year.
Speaker 9 (06:23):
One on the news now like like what do.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
You he sat down and then sat down to him
and then you know, people saying, I mean with him
being a European descent and stuff like that, honey. I
guess you know he could scream loud because you know,
if you was of African American descent and you go
out and say somebody, say, go give a five dollars,
she ain't never had none anyway, and they brush you off.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
But this man is out talking doing interviews with just
cause you si for two hundred and something million dollars.
That don't mean you're gonna get it.
Speaker 9 (06:47):
Yeah, I mean you're gonna get it, but you're trying
to get something.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yeah, you know. So we're gonna follow this. I just
want to say, try to perry along.
Speaker 9 (06:54):
And people might get mad at me for that, but
I don't care, Like, leave him alone.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Well, we're just gonna pray. We just need to wait.
Speaker 6 (07:00):
The prayer of righteous will prevail, honey. So we're just
gonna keep him in prayer. Oh how many I got
that long to do another story? But anyway, y'all, well,
I'm just go ahead and to the color honey, because

my all time favorite views of you is right speaking

he asking about baby at her work event? It comes
(13:58):
off very insensitive that he contentedly does this, and it

be a problem like that, yeah, love, but.
Speaker 9 (14:24):
He don't like it, like going now, like they're just
looking for something that much desperation for content. Well, I
mean they married, they could, they could joke, they could
say what.
Speaker 6 (14:33):
They want to say, like yeah, but I mean that
is kind of something to eks public.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
But we didn't have another baby.
Speaker 10 (14:40):
Yeah, but when she find like, yeah, you gotta keep up,
keep her pregnant and keep her you gotta keep her

Speaker 6 (15:13):
She was married on the TV show To the next story,

she's doing. She's a very nice lady. I know her.
And when she went to jail for she.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
Was having refreshing beverages while driving.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Yeah, what was having?
Speaker 7 (15:54):

Speaker 6 (15:54):
She was having refreshing beverages, honey. I was having a
cocktail for her.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Give it up. A girl with the te.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Happiness Wednesday.
Speaker 10 (16:30):
Morning shall amount of morning show every Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
It's Wellness Wednesday.
Speaker 10 (16:35):
We got to run it on the Doctor j Collie
is back to help you stay healthy, Doctor Collie.
Speaker 5 (16:39):
Good morning, good morning, having a hell of you. Thank
you so much, Ricky, good morning, rock tea special k
Gary with the Tea. The Lovely afritis and the beautiful breath.
Thank you once again, Ricky for the opportunity to bring
health care information through the listeners of the Ricky Smiley
Morning Show. So, Ricky, I understand, hot topic in the
(17:00):
studio this week has been you sports, and so we're
going to talk about that this morning.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
A lot of young athletes have started.
Speaker 5 (17:06):
The school year and we are all in the fall
sport of football season. So there are a lot of
questions being asked about you football now since the diagnosis
of CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which is an alshemmer's
life disease, has been associated with repeated head trauma like
you see in football players.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
But other sports that put you at risks are of
those such as.
Speaker 5 (17:30):
Soccer and hockey. Hard hitting and hockey can do it
as well. So this puts to young people at risk.
So what a medical experts recommending Ricky. Organizations such as
the Concussion Legacy Foundation and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
generally now advised against young children playing tackle football due
to the risk of brain injury and the brains developmental stage. Now,
(17:52):
this all came ahead if you remember the movie Concussion
that starred Will Smith and It was a black doctor
that an autopsy on an NFL player and coined the
phrase CTE based on microscopic damage in the brain because
this person was manifesting those symptoms and upon that they
evaluate them. So now we are well aware of this phenomena,
(18:15):
and the question is should we mute or control young
people's exposure to hits, you know, or should we just
let people do what they've been doing, which is play football.
We all know the benefits of teams sports come rider
rig structure and structure. I know that's your key phrase, structure.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
You can tell this morning.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
Yeah, you can tell the difference in young people that
have played on team sports versus people that are that
are just have not had that experience. A good coach
can have a lifetime a benefit to a young person
and that's in their formative agent as far as their
attitudes and things like that.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
So what do you think about that, Ricky, Oh, I.
Speaker 10 (18:53):
Think it's a big We was in here having a
conversation about structure this morning. I woke up fifteen minutes
late in it through my whole morning off because I
make my coffee at night, I wake up in the morning,
take the coffee out of the refrigerator, put the coffee
on the stove. Like I'm really, really, really structured, and
one thing has a trickle down effect on everything, and
coaching little league football, little league baseball, my whole life
(19:15):
being in the HBCU marching band, where there was just
a lot of discipline and structure and it helped you
later on in life with your professionalism. Anything I show
to man, I'm always on time, you know what I'm saying.
I like to get to the job early and get
organized and unpacked and set straight ready to go on whatever.
And I get laughed at it, laughed at a lot
(19:37):
about it. But man, you know, I just I just,
I'm just I don't know. Some people call it where
everything that's right is wrong and everything is wrong is right.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
They say, you OCD are some other things.
Speaker 10 (19:49):
Yeah that ain't that ain't no damn OCD. That's just
good mode training. I'm so tired of Black people love
to diagno somebody and then don't even know what they diagnosed.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
It ain't with yeah, you're you eighty HD.
Speaker 10 (20:05):
Whenever when somebody happened, you know, if if somebody birthday
brought it in you because you're something and lost and
how the yell did that make?
Speaker 9 (20:11):
You?
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Bopole? Black people need to stop.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
You know, my son Miles played football starting at age eight,
and he developed into a decent quarterback and uh, you know,
but didn't continue to play on a higher level.
Speaker 12 (20:26):
You know.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
You know, he got hit, he got a concussion, and
so after watching that movie, he decided he didn't want
to play football anymore. So yeah, but again, but I
think a lot of the benefit that he got was
being that structured environment.
Speaker 13 (20:38):
Rocky, what do you think, man, I'm rea be honest
with you men. My son, you know, he plays baseball,
and uh, I love football. So I introduced him to
the game. And when he came back and said, I
don't know if I really liked this sport, you know.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
And he didn't.
Speaker 13 (20:51):
He didn't want to play. I didn't push him, but
I didn't. I was actually kind of glad that he didn't.
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
I mean, I love football.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Yeah, I love football, man, I mean, I played everything.
Speaker 13 (21:02):
But I was glad that he wasn't overly excited about
wanting to be on the football team.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
And he said, now I'm good. I'm just gonna I'm
gonna play baseball, and.
Speaker 10 (21:09):
Right one of the things we need to do. Man,
we also need to consider baseball in soccer, soccer soccer, Yes,
they are looking for African American athletes to play soccer.
Everybody can't play basketball and football. And if you look
at the percentage of people that go to the league
in NFL and NBA versus soccer and baseball, those are
(21:29):
long careers that actually pay more money. Thank you. Don't
forget a ball in tennis. I got my girls in tennis. Yes, swimming, track, golf,
tennis absolutely.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
All provide easy access to Division I school scholarships because
they're looking for players, particularly African Americans. Baseball is struggling
to keep African Americans interested in playing because they're all
playing basketball, and so that is one of the issues
that we have right now. So the recommendation is that
your children under the age of fourteen played flag football.
Now as you see they have playing football league, this
(22:01):
will coming a big sport. They have commercials on ESPN
and so it's really being tired and you see teams
with boys and girls playing together on Flagg football team.
So it's one of the things they consider. They do
have restrictions on say, heading the ball in soccer up
until age fourteen. They don't want you using your head
to hit the ball because you know, this is the
(22:21):
developmental period for a child's brain and you can insult
it by repeated blows like that. So CTE does give
you increased risks or you at increased risk for CTE
playing football or contact sport us like that. But again
you have to personally weigh the benefits versus the potential
problems that you could have, and then you know, make
(22:41):
your own decision. But one of the key factors, Ricky,
they said, a coach, a coach that teaches you fundamentals,
and a coach that knows what they're doing. It teaches
you the appropriate way to tackle versus just getting out there.
Because there's always that one kid who is a mutant.
You know, he's twice the size of everybody there. He
meets the age criteria, but he weighed fifty pounds more
(23:01):
than everybody else, and he's a beast out there. But
the normal sized kids are at risk playing on the
same field with this child and he can't move up
because of his age group. And you know, and a
lot of coaches like having the beast anyway. But you
know they just sent him out there to abuse people,
and so the right coach very important as to the
rate of injuries and how a person learned the fundamentals
(23:22):
of things like contact.
Speaker 10 (23:24):
For dog, doctor Carty, I ran, I ran a slant
of five and m across the middle and got hit
by Scotty Benson so hard. And you all got hit
so hard, and your your helmet and you got grass
in your face masks. And when I opened my eyes,
I looked across the field and I saw the band
over there, saw.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
My boy Joombu playing baritone there next door to me
about it?
Speaker 10 (23:47):
How about I quit that day and got in the band,
and that Thursday in March, that Friday night, he was
how the hell you did?
Speaker 1 (23:54):
I say, well, I take band on first period. I
already knew the music. That's all I had to do.
Speaker 10 (23:58):
Go out there one band practice learning. Shout out to
Scott the business that's listening to us on uh in
Saint Louis. That dude hit me so hard, man, Scott.
A business change changed my life. But you weren't supposed
to be out there anyway, because you were ineligible. Hey,
if you want to talk to doctor colly. Yeah, GPA
swin't six six now why we got the one it
(24:18):
on that dottor MJ. Coyley on with it this morning.
Let's just go ahead and get right to it and
go to the phones you own with doctor Collier. Good morning.
Speaker 7 (24:24):
I just had a Maya Meximi surgery fibroids removal, and
I developed a human toma on top of my decision.
I just was wondering, is that something I should.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Be worried about? No, not necessarily.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
It's a postop complication, but it's not a major issue.
That is blood under the skin and above the wound area.
That blood will solidifly make a hard clot, then it
will liquefy spontaneously.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
You don't have to do anything. That's just the nature
of this. Then it would turn dark purple, then green,
then yellow, then dissipate. So that's not a problem.
Speaker 5 (25:00):
You can feed that process up by applying moist heat.
Doesn't have to be hot, just warm. It's just warm
to the touch. So you can put like a hot
water bottle on their heating pad, even just a warm
towel and do that, you know, four or five times
a day until.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
The spontaneous resolves.
Speaker 5 (25:16):
Now, if it starts to ooze a purialent material or
the wound starts to smell bad, then that means it's
gotten infected, and that's a different complication. But just a
hematoma is a common phenomenon.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
It is self limiting.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Ah Joania, good morning.
Speaker 7 (25:31):
Yes, I was wondering a good morning.
Speaker 11 (25:33):
I was wondering am I able to take numerous supplements
for Jay should gether at the same time.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
You can take most supplements or complimentary, which means that
you can take them with no problems, but you do
have to consider any.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Prescription medications that you're taking and then make sure that a.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
Lot of supplements are the same products are contained some
of the same conditions. So you want to make sure
that what you're taking is you know, like one type
of tumory, type of vitamin D exception, You're not taking
multiple products with the same or similar things. But supplements
are just that they are supplements, which means you take
in addition to, not instead of So if you don't
(26:12):
own a blood pressure medicine or cholesterol medication, you're taking
supplements to assist with those disease states. You need to
make sure that you're still taking your prescription medication, but
also take the supplements. I would recommend that you take
all of your supplements and your prescription medication to your
doctor the next time you go for what's called medication reconciliation.
(26:32):
Just put it all in the bag and make sure
everything that you're taking you take with you or as
easy or an easy way to do that is just
take pictures of each bottle and have them in your
cell phone so that you can have that discussion which
your doctors make sure there's no problem.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
All right, jolly good morning.
Speaker 11 (26:48):
My daughter has been having severe stomach concerns that was
diagnosed as IBS due to stress. However, I don't think
that that's accurate. And you know, what could we do
if it isn't that idea to help Tupper feel that
it because this.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Is gone off for two years, okay, Irritable bowel syndrome.
Speaker 5 (27:09):
My IBS is kind of a diagnosis of exclusion means
we've looked for other things. Hopefully they have looked for
other things including in upper endoscopy impossibly a colonoscopy as
well to determine to make sure that that is it.
And so basically, when you have an abdominal pain, cramping,
sometimes diarrhea, and a constipation that can alternate. That falls
(27:30):
under the hoopskirt diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome. But the
best thing you can do for GI health is to
take probiotics. I would highly recommend taking that and adding that.
And we also have a product called Lipocleans, which is
not a laxative, but it makes you GI system function
more appropriately.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
So those two things, we call it the belly fix.
Speaker 5 (27:52):
Would give you some relief one hundred percent sure, but
it's not like you take one peel and the next
day you're fine.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
It's going to be a process.
Speaker 5 (27:59):
But that to be on the products for a couple
of weeks, you should notice marked improvement in GI function.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Also, you need blood testing for food allergies.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
You need to make sure that there are no foods
that she's eating that could be causing this problem that
just haven't been diagnosed. So those are the things that
I recommend follow up, which you can get the food
allergy testing from one drop of blood at any doctor's office.
Now most of the general laughs do that. So Ricky
