On the political front, President Trump is ramping up pressure on Washington, D.C., threatening to deploy federal law enforcement—including the National Guard—and potentially strip the city of its home rule following an assault on a staffer. This controversial power play comes despite a 26% drop in violent crime, raising serious questions about overreach and governance.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Entertainment on the pretty Smiling Morning staff.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Yeah, I got page right here. Africa's good morning, Good.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Morning, Ricky.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
It's Thursday, August seventh. Here's what's going on in the news.
A violent attempted carjacking in d C has turned into
full on political theater after the victim was rebuilt to
be nineteen year old Edwin or actually Edward Coorstein, a
Trump loyalist and former Doe stafford known as Big Balls.
Trump's now basically calling d C. That's really that's his

(00:34):
online him serious. Yeah, they call him big Ball.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
He's well, here's the thing, he's a big deal.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Trump now is basically calling DC dirty and dangerous because
of this kid getting carjacked.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
And he even though you know, violence in d C.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Is down, he's threatening to send in the National Guard
and even dismantle the city's local government.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Whether you call it federalized or what. And that also
includes the graffiti that you see the papers all over
the place, the roads that are in bed shape, the
medians that are falling down, the median in between roads
that's falling down. We're going to beautify the city. We're
going to make it beautiful. And what a shame, the
rate of crime, the rate of muggings, killings, and everything else.

(01:18):
We're not going to let it, and that includes bringing
in the National Guard, maybe very quickly.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Trump is also pushing to have the fifteen year old
suspects try it as adults, but critics say it's off
for show and just more Trump world favoritism. After all,
how does a nineteen year old called big balls with
no experience land a top job at DOGE. Meanwhile, it's
harsh punishment for some kids while others get fast tracked
and protected. Speaking of a Long Island fire chief is

(01:45):
catching heat after a video showed him cursing out a
ten year old girl during a medical call. The child
was visibly upset, crying and saying she didn't want to
go into the ambulance when the chief, Chief Peter Out snapped.
Now this moment has gone viral, and it's really hard here.

(02:06):
This is in Long Island. So here's the thing. It's
hard to hear. But he did call this little girl
an effing inward before putting her in the truck. Now
he's been suspended pending an investigation. The girl's mother says
the chief completely failed her daughter and the Internet seems
to agree.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Keep on last Monad Lee's a former Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Physician, Doctor Rudel Saunders, has been convicted of practicing medicine
without a license.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Here's the thing, y'all.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
He's performing general exams, including testicular ultrasounds, in his apartment.
He told these men that he was in training, but
the exams have happened in his bedroom, not a clinic.
His license was suspended back in twenty twenty three, but
that didn't stop him. He was cleared of voyeurism charges,
but faces up to a year in prison for each

(02:54):
count of unlicensed practice.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
For info on these.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Stories and more, Goderique Smiley, weren't you dot com? Now
here's a look at sports.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Rock te The sports genius is in the building.

Speaker 6 (03:07):
I am man, I'm high.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
We're getting one step closer the college football season. The
coaches top twenty five rankings have been released. Texas is
number one, Ohio State's number two, Penn State three, Georgia's
number four, Notre Dame is five, Clemson is six, Oregon
is seven, Alabama's eight, LSU is nine, and Miami is ten. Again,
this is the coaches poll, not the eight p pole.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Kidd ain't nobody kicked off nothing yet.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
Exactly, man, But it's kind of it's kind of good
to have it out there because we're getting one step closer,
and I'm excited. I'm excited right now because Cleveland Brown's
rookie quarterback Shador Sanders, who currently is listed as fourth
on the quarterback depth chart, is expected to start the
preseason opener tomorrow against the New England Patriots. Kenny Pickett
and Dylan Gabriel, they're both injured and dealing with some injuries.

(03:56):
The old veteran Joe Flacco, they ain't gonna put him
in a preseason game right now, so he said he's
just gonna be chilling. But Marcus Spears aka swag Goo
explains why this is very important for Shador.

Speaker 6 (04:07):
But this is a vital situation that Shador has, and
and and almost an opportunity for him to move up
in that depth chart just by default based on the
performance in a week one preseason game.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
Absolutely, let me tell you something, man, Shador needs to
play Shador football within the Cleveland Brown system. If he
can't go out there scared, intimidated, trying to make mistakes. Yeah, Shador,
if you're listening, my brother. Just go out there and
play your game within the Cleveland Brown system and.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
You're gonna be fine.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
And you're gonna move from fourth string possibly up to
second maybe first. Yeah, yeah, Panthers. But it don't matter
who the opponent is. Go do what you do exactly.
I'm gonna be I can't wait, man, come on your door.
Let's go be rooting for your big dog. Ask my quick.

of a script title page that read why Did I

who played the loud Now Angela, reposted the image with
the single word boom. Details are still being kept secret,
and there's no word yet on whether the film will
be released in theaters or on streaming services.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
All Right, y'all, things are changing over at b ET.

Speaker 7 (06:01):
The CEO of Black Entertainment Television Networks, Scott Mills, has
just announced that the network is suspending both the Soul
Trained and BET Hip Hop Award shows indefinitely. He says
that his team is actively thinking about where those award
shows might best live as the media climate continues to evolve.
The BT hip Hop Awards first launch back in two
thousand and six. Over the years, the ceremony became one

(06:23):
of the few nationally broadcast events where hip hop artists
got their flowers, and the Soul.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Trained Awards first launched in nineteen.

Speaker 7 (06:30):
Eighty seven, carrying on the legacy of the late Don
Cornelia's celebrating the best R and B artists. BT suspension
of the award shows comes after talks to sell the
network from under.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
The Paramount umbrella stalled last year and last but not lesh'all.

Speaker 7 (06:44):
This past Monday, Beyonce dropped her forth and final installment
of her collaboration with the Levi brand with the ninety
second visual and many things that the Queen Bee does
are intentional, whether we aware, whether we are.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Aware of it up front or not.

Speaker 7 (07:01):
Lots of fans believe there were multiple Easter eggs in
the new ad. Let's look at some of the possible
Easter eggs. So the Levi ad is broken up into
three parts. When Beyonce dropped her Renaissance project, she revealed
it was the first act of a three part project.
Cowboy Carter was the second part of that project, and
in the first act of the ad, she slowly rolled

(07:22):
in on her horse. Now this has fans speculating that
Beyonce maybe signaling the end of her Cowboy Carter era. Also,
in the third act of the ad, it begins with
the words the Smoke. The fans speculate that the motorcycle
could mark the beginning of a third part of the project,
which may be rock and roll.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
These fans are good.

Speaker 7 (07:42):
With these fools, God man, these fans don't play it, Beyonces.
They're speculating that the title the Smoke could be a
reference to her song Smoke Hour featuring Willie Nelson, which
opens up with lyrics that include the words come on, baby,
It's time to rock. But for the genes beyond, says
new denim Cowboy collection launchers on Levi dot com today.

(08:05):
So congratulations go out to Beyonce. That woman just does
not stop. All right, y'all were gonna.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
