Millions of Americans are facing the very real possibility of losing their food-stamp benefits. Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, states warn that nearly 42 million individuals enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program could see their benefits halted in November if Congress doesn’t act.
