Speaker 1 (07:27):
I don't care if I have to do the morning
show from my cell phone. But I am going to
be somewhere outside standing up raising money and raising or
filling up pantries from somewhere to make sure that people
have bread on the table. God put this on my heart.
I have to do it. Snap benefits and stuff. It's
(07:50):
being cut off. People don't have nothing to eat. Senior
citizens don't have food. Got the choose between medical, medical
medication and food. Parents got to choose between one or
two meals a day. Are we gonna do breakfast? Are
we going to do dinner? And God has been good
to a lot of us, and now it's time to
(08:11):
break bread. And because Jesus Christ I always talk about
the least of these, take your.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Time, Ricky speaking of this.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
If you or somebody you know who is struggling to
put food on the table, you can call the National
Hunger Hodline at one eight sixty six three hungry. That's
eight sixty six three four eight sixty four seventy nine.
For local food banks and emergency help. You can also
go to Hunger Free America dot org. Of course, it
is Halloween, and it's Friday, October thirty. First, here is
(08:44):
what's going on in the news. We've been talking about
it all morning, about the scary situation happening here at home.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
It's got nothing to do with Halloween.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Though the government shut down is now in our day
thirty one, with no end in sight. Tens of millions
of low income families are gonna lose food assistance when
SNAP runs out tomorrow. There is, however, a flicker of hope,
though a federal judge in Massachusetts is reviewing a lawsuit
from twenty five states asking the administration to release emergency
funds to keep Snap benefits going.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
So we just pray that that will happen.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
And if rising grocery car costs aren't frightening enough, the
new Obamacare premiums just dropped and they're giving folks a
real financial fright. Premiums are expected to jump twenty six
percent on average and could climb more than one hundred
percent of tax credits disappear. Now that is a Halloween
nightmare real quick. Here's a little bit of a treat
for Halloween. We all get an extra hour of sleep
(09:37):
on Sunday when daylight Savings time ends for INFOLM. These
stories and more go to Rigismiley Morning Show dot com.
Now here's a look at sports.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Rockdi the sports genius is in the building, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 7 (09:50):
Yes, indeed it's Friday. We'll have a good time on
sports today. Man, I have a great correspondence. It's going
to join me you who want to express his opinions
and thoughts and sports ladies and gentlemen, the great Dennis Rodman.
Do you have anything that you want to say before
we get started.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
I would love to.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Speak on this, you know, dude, I understand that Thursday
Night football about that.
Speaker 7 (10:20):
The Baltimore Ravens rick beat the Miami Dolphins. Man the
return of Lamar Jackson, he threw four touchdowns, revived Raven nation.
Speaker 6 (10:28):
Dennis, you have any thought, let me do this. I'm
gonna tell you one thing. People run the wrong the world.
I'm gonna do one thing. Well, we're gonna take it.
That's my young man, Random Savath.
Speaker 7 (10:44):
That's Cam Newton explained what really happened with the scuffle
he had with Alabama and M's mascot and why he
punched Butch the bulldog and mascot in in the face.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
That's this.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
I just thank god that nobody was hurt.
Speaker 7 (10:58):
Everything was all in good for it, and if people
really wanted to dig deep, they could have dug deep
and finding other clips.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
But that was the only clip that you saw.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Everything was all playful.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
But it didn't look like it was playing.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
In the famous words of Sea Snows, my father say, son,
you could.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Be on top of the world, and the next day
the world can be on top of you.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Shout out to Alabama, A and M.
Speaker 7 (11:20):
Shout out to the bruises of the mascot and everybody.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
You welcome for your meme of the year. There it is, there,
it is. It was a little bit more.
Speaker 7 (11:27):
He probably said some more things up under that mask though.
Ah that's my quick sports support. Shamia is putting it
down for the brand spot. It's coming up next, Sart.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Drop it like it's hard.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Drop it like it's hard.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
It's at the morning to stepped out.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
But go ahead and I got.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
You got it.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Big love to everybody out there lending a hand in
the Caribbean. Like dance Hall legend Sean Paul, the Grammy
winning hitmaker, is teaming up with Food for the Poor
Jamaica through his Sean Paul Foundation to help his homeland
bounce back after Hurricane Melissa. And he's not just donating,
he's delivering direct relief to families who needed most.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
He even dropped a message for the people my.
Speaker 8 (12:16):
Alan, Jamaica is going through a tough time. Hurricane Melissa's
caused a lot of damage. People are mispleased, people are hurt,
people are without any help. Right now, I'm asking all
of my funds from.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Your heart to give anything it can. I'm not the
old smile.
Speaker 8 (12:32):
It's always will go towards helping people and die and
eat myself. I went to match everything up to fifty
thousand US dollars that you give, so together we can
help to make a difference.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Meanwhile, Pastor Jamal Brian, it's flipping the script at his church.
With rising unemployment and snap benefits cuts or snap benefit cuts,
I can say that making it harder for families to eat.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
He is making sure that nobody gets left behind Ricky.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Instead of the usual tithes and offering, Pastor Brian is
asking his congregation to bring groceries instead of cash this month,
and his members are doing their part, showing up with
canned goods, pantry stables, and family sized essentials to fuel
a massive community food drive.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
It's amazing.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
That's why we we I'm sitting here texting him right
right now. He just text me We're doing a Saturday
on the fifteenth of November, going to be doing a
live broadcast from the King Center in Atlanta. So trying
to you know, trying to raise awareness and raise get
(13:41):
people to bring food and stuff all of the poor
people and homeley people. I just want to shout out
to Thomas Pastor Thomas Beavers.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
And all of the pastors.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
That's stepping up, stepping up to the plate out here,
caring about people, trying to do what they can to
make sure that people have food. I don't know why
God put it so hard on my heart, like I
couldn't I couldn't sleep last night thinking about senior citizens
that couldn't afford their medicine and thinking about young people.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Then I think.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
About all of my brothers, all the passors out here,
and different people in the community that work day and
night trying to ensure that somebody, don't, you know, make
sure that everybody have what they need.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
And it's hard right now.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
It kind of reminds you of make you think about
what our parents went through with the civil rights movement
when they was carpooling and doing everything they needed to
do just what we can have the right to vote
and to have what we needed, you know, back in
the fifties and the sixties. And here we are in
a different time, you know, and all of this stuff
going on. So you know, God give you a platform
(14:55):
like the radio to see what.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
You can do to help people.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
And yeah, this is for comedy, this is for fun
or whatever, but I'm all about service.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
I've been like this my whole life.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
And I'm gonna make sure that me and my kids
uh as where we have groceries and our refrigerator.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
We're gonna be on the bushet. We're gonna be eating
certain things.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
We're gonna be eating pots of soup and black and
black eyed peas and stretching food out or whatever, not
the things that we used to eat when they're with me,
because I don't want them to grow up entitled and
I want I want them to serve and know.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
About people that's out of just struggling.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
And I think everybody that have something that if God
just bless you with a little bit given and shall
be given unto you.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
You know, Pastor Bryant talks about.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
A river don't stink because it flows, but a pond
that don't flow it is smelly.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
And I and I don't know if y'all.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Understand that, but but but when a river flows, you
know given and shall be given a to you, because
it could be us, it could be me, it could
be my kids waking up hungry. So I just thank
God for his grace, I thank God for his mercy.
I thank God for giving me strength of my body,
and while other people are out here suffering. I'm not
(16:16):
gonna set up on a hoigh hog and add like
I don't care about people. So I just want to help,
and I just want to do my due diligence and
do what I can with this platform that God provided
me with. Let's see what we can do to help people.
So Monday, I don't know where I'm going to be.
I don't know if I have to do the morning
show from my cell phone. I'm gonna take an extra
(16:36):
couple of batteries and a charger and plug up somewhere
and get people to come to where I am.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
To drop off clothes.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Can good all of this stuff, So we give God
the glory and we're just thankful for the opportunity to
be in a position to help somebody.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
And that's what it's all about. That it ain't about
nothing else. That's right with me.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
And we're going to keep you posted on how you
can donate where we're going to be. If you or
somebody you know needs help with food or resources, check
out fine heelp dot org or USDA dot org or
call one eight hundred and five hungry for info on
these stories and Moregotriki Smiley Morning Show dot com.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Course, you follow me at Georgia alfridez
