your front page right here. Afrita's good morning.

Speaker 6 (00:41):
Good morning, Ricky. It's Tuesday, August twenty six. Here's what's
going on in the news. President Trump says he's firing
Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, accusing her of false statements
on mortgage agreements and calling her conduct deceitful and potentially criminal. Cook,
the first black woman on the FED board, shot back
that she has no intention of being bullied to step down.

(01:03):
Critics call the move political, noting Cook was a Biden
appointee and her removal could tilt the FED toward Trump's
push for rate cuts. Now, economists warrant it undermines FED independence,
rattle's global confidence, and markets have already reacted. The dollars
slipped while investors are fleeing to gold and the yen,
and the irony is not lost on critics. Trump himself

(01:26):
was found liable for civil fraud just last year after
inflating property values by billions, plus the twenty five million
dollar Trump University settlement, and the collapse of Trump mortgage
without history, they say Trump's moves look less like accountability
and more like political payback.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
In other Trump.

Speaker 6 (01:44):
News, the president has signed an executive order threatening to
cut off federal funding to cities that keep cashless bail.
Trump says crime went up after cities scrapped cash bail,
but the data just doesn't back them up. Take Washington,
d C. They've been cashless since the nineties, and violent
crime just hit a thirty year low. Illinois ended bail
last year, no spike. New York did it a twenty

(02:07):
twenty same result, and a national study of thirty three
cities found no evidence that bail reform fuels crime. Bottom line,
Trump's talking points may sound tough, but the facts say
his claims just aren't true. From courtrooms to the skies,
the United Airlines flight was scrapped just minutes before takeoff

(02:27):
after a passenger decided to spark up in the bathroom
or the restroom. And it wasn't just a cigarette. The
pilot was not having it. He told passengers he's got
thirty years left on his United career and he wasn't
about to risk a failed drug test because somebody else
chose to light up a joint on board brimp on

(02:47):
these stories and more, we're gonna read Smiley Morning Show
dot com. Now here's a look at sport rock tee.

Mine alight, y'all. Shout out to Venus Williams. Man and
at the age of forty five, she actually looked pretty
good first round of the US Open. She didn't win
that match, but she looked good. I hope she continues
to play it. She can't play no more, man, She
got to have some fun. The Cleveland Browns they traded
quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders for a
fifth round pick. He will back up Gino Smith out there,

(03:19):
So that means the Browns also released quarterback Tyler Huntley,
so now their final quarterback of roster or roster of quarterbacks.
There you go. You got Joe Flacko who's the number one,
Dylan Gabriels number two, Shador Sanders is third, and of
course Deshaun Watson is still on the roster. But we
know Deshaun Watson is not gonna step on the field

(03:40):
no more as a Cleveland Brown in my particular opinion,
but it is what it is. So as of right now,
Chador is on the roster as a Cleveland Brown. So
now you gotta keep working and let's see what happens.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
