Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, wine and football aren't that different. Sure they're complex,
but enjoying them should be easy. You don't need to
worry about complex formations and flavor profiles or which wine
pairs with what. All that matters is together. Barefoot Wine
and the Rams are easy to enjoy, So let's enjoy ourselves.
Barefoot Wine the official wine sponsor of the NFL. What's up, Jamies,

(00:28):
Welcome back to another episode of Ricky's Ram Jam, presented
by Barefoot Wine. The defense put up a fight, but
the Rams fell to the Dolphins twenty three to fifteen
on Monday Night Football. Huge show coming up, and I'm
really excited about this because to too at Well gets
to sit down and we're gonna play a fun little game,
So stay tuned for that. And also NFL Networks Bridget

(00:49):
Condon is going to be joining me to get us
ready for New England. But before that, I want to
toss to coach McVeigh. Last night after the.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Game, defensively, I was really pleased with the way that
we played. You know, that's a really explosive offense. I
thought we were able to limit them, create a bunch
of negative plays, get some turnovers, give really good short
fields to the offense and then ultimately, you know, we
weren't able to capitalize. There wasn't any sort of semblance
of complimentary football. And that's where we have to be
able to improve. And fortunately, you know, it is a

(01:17):
short week. Sometimes these bad tastes that you have in
your mouth after a game like this, you say, let's
go back to work, let's really look at it, and
let's come back with the right mindset of mentality on Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
I love what he said there. It's a short week
and you just got to keep going and on word
we go. So this time for the coin toss this
week against New England, Option one, let's keep our DB's
going and let's let's add a pick six. So Option
one is a pick six against New England, and Option
two a Matthew Stafford rushing touchdown, maybe down at the

(01:47):
one yard line. You think it's going to be a
handoff to Kiren, Matthew takes it at himself. Option one
or two you let me know, all right. I had
the opportunity to sit down with two two out well
and I got to get to know him over train camp.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
In a few years that I've been here with the rams.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
But I wanted to do a.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Fun, exciting way to get to know to to.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
The person unless the player. But with a little ram
jam twist here it is all right? Joining me now
is to to at well you may know him from
you know.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
The field.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Let's see the fastest guy on the team. But I
figured instead of like a boring normal interview, we would
just ask each other some jannga questions.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
How does that feel?

Speaker 5 (02:26):
Great?

Speaker 4 (02:27):
All right?

Speaker 3 (02:27):
You can you can go first?

Speaker 5 (02:29):
Okay, I don't think is that.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
I think that's a rule. You can't pick up the top?

Speaker 5 (02:34):
No, not, that's.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Wherever?

Speaker 5 (02:38):
Nah, just for that. If football slash this job wasn't
an option, what else would you do?

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I feel like I'd be really good at sales?

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Okay, me. I want to school for criminal justice.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Okay, so I wanted to fight some crime.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
You know, Yeah, the undercover.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Okay, what would be your dream undercover position?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Like a steak out, like a.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
Swat Yeah, jump out? Okay, okay we call it jump
out back home?

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Gotcha? But yeah, all right, throw that on top.

Speaker 7 (03:18):
Let's see.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah, these are tight.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Do you believe in ghosts?

Speaker 5 (03:29):
No?

Speaker 4 (03:30):
No, you hesitated?

Speaker 5 (03:31):
No, I don't believe in ghosts.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
M trying to make a hard Yeah, if you could
have one super power, what would it be?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Oh, I I feel like flying. That's or or well,
it's not the same thing as like teleportation.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Oh my, I was gonna say that teleport. I gonna
say teleport.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Okay, but don't you think flying' and you go. You
you run so fast that you already know what it's
like to fly. But yeah, yeah, invisible would be good too. Okay,
what is your go to excuse to cancel plans?

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Go to excuse to cancel plans? I bring my mom?

Speaker 4 (04:19):
You go, Sorry, I gotta I gotta good.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
My mom and sorry, won't.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
All right?

Speaker 5 (04:25):
Wait, I can't tell the people that.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Now they know.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Now you know, next time is like, hey man, sorry,
I gotta be with my mom.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
You know.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
Moment all right?

Speaker 4 (04:36):
I know this is.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
If you touch it, you gotta grab that. Yeah, that's
question for you. What is one thing you can't live without?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (04:46):
I would have to say my.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
My dog, thor the type of dog.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
He's a little multipoo, So yeah, I can't live without him. Okay,
who is the RAMS teammate who would be the best
to road trip with?

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Like in a car like a long road trip.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
Ohge, you know I gotta go with the receiver group. Okay,
all of us.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
All of them are want in one car? Yeah, packed packed, Okay,
we have some fun. Who's driving?

Speaker 5 (05:19):
Cooper gonna drive? Yeah, he's the Cooper is like the
dad of the group.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
So gotcha.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
Yeah, I'm quite sure that he take the responsibility to
drive because I don't want none of us driving. So yeah,
so I think he'll take the leading that plate. Eric,
Could you could you kick a twenty yard field goal?

Speaker 1 (05:45):
I don't know if I could because I've seen the
kids do it on college game day and some of
them have been able to hit it, But I don't know.

Speaker 7 (05:52):
Could you kick a twenty year field goal?

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:54):
I could kick you really?

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Yeah? So literally, I was a field goal kicker.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Okay, so you went field goal kicker quarterback, now wide
receiver receiver?

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Well one is your favorite quarterback?

Speaker 5 (06:07):
Quarterback?

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Oh, do you have any fun hobbies that people don't
know about you?

Speaker 6 (06:17):
Mm hmm, Well people know I played the game, but
yeah I was using another one.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
Like, are you a knitter?

Speaker 5 (06:27):
I like to draw? Okay, I could draw?

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Okay, how do you unwind when you like get home
after a long week of practice, Like, are you reading
a book?

Speaker 4 (06:34):
You drawing? You're just like gaming? Nah, a game okay.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
That's a big game. Setup a game like this.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
It's like the studio.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
Okay, studio all right.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
But yeah when i'm board board, I draw, okay, so
and I can draw real good.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Okay, we'll have to hold you, hold you to that. Yeah,
it's getting down to the wire here.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
Your forty times a four three two? Because you beat
it now, you.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Think you could beat it then than what you did?

Speaker 4 (07:03):
What what made the difference?

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Just like the training, the or you just feel like
you've gotten faster.

Speaker 6 (07:07):
So I only ran that because I had a scratch
fracter in my back, so gotcha?

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Had you no couple couple bruise?

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Yeah? So, but if I was healthy, I was coming
for that record. Okay, okay, but you know living live
with the FO three two still fast?

Speaker 4 (07:27):
It's very fast.

Speaker 6 (07:28):
Yeah, I got great technique, so okay, I feel like
if I.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Train, getting faster.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Yeah, of course I ran track to what haven't you done? Ll? Soccer?
When I played baseball? Track? Basketball? Did it all?

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Which household chore is your least favorite?

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Like dishes? Laundry, Like, what's the one you like to test?

Speaker 5 (07:59):
Scrubbing the wall?

Speaker 4 (08:00):
How often do you do that?

Speaker 6 (08:02):
That's the grandma there, come to my house. Okay, you
see Okay, well come to grandma house. Yeah, it's like,
oh man, I used to hate going to grandma house sometimes.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
She banky scrub the walls.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
What don't touch the wall? You know you have Grandma's
at the like the white walls and they they cabinets.
Don't touch the cabinets or they wall because you touch it.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
But what about in your own house, my own house, Like,
what's the last thing on the list where you're like, oh.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
I really got to get to this this.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
Yeah, that's why I buy a lot of plastic wear
to avoid that.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Yeah, I feel that.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
But growing up, Grandma's get them, get the rag you
got the scrubs that come on.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
This is.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
What is one food you just won't eat?

Speaker 5 (08:52):
Raw sushi?

Speaker 6 (08:53):
Yeah, yeah, don't do it, just raw foods in general.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Yeah, I can't do it.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
If you get this, then I'm so screwed on the
next one. Ah, the precision is oh my gosh.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
To too. Do you think you could be a podcast host?

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Yeah? Do you think you could do my job.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Yeah, all right, give me your best like intro.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
Okay, I got you along. Hello fans, I'm too too
that well.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
And Erica Tamposy and here are the Rams podcast. That
is the I'm out of a job, all right.

Speaker 5 (09:43):

Payton Manny Okay, Payton Manning.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
I gotta go Tom Brady.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
See, how was a quarterback? You know? Peyton Manny was
my quarterback? Okay, so every team Peyton Manny was on,
that was you.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
That was my team.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
That was smart.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
Who is the person who helped you the most throughout
your NFL journey?

Speaker 5 (10:15):
Mom and Dad? Okay, uh am one of my mentors
coach Reggie high school football coach.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
And three nice Okay, all right, this is gonna get

Speaker 5 (10:28):
I know I know what, I know what.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
I know it.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Oh, what is your favorite movie? Both money Talk?

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Okay, that's a good one.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
I yes, yes, what's your money Talk?

Speaker 4 (10:56):
All right?

Speaker 1 (10:57):
I love I'm a I'm a sucker for the oldies,
like I love like a Casablanca or like an early
Spielberg like Jurassic Park.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
I put on you know I.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
Watched those before.

Speaker 6 (11:07):
Yeah, I actually would know Hawaiian did the waterfall. Yeah,
I've seen the helicopter we flew over it, so yeah,
that was nice.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Well too, to thank you so much for hanging out today.
I can't wait to see how this all comes together.
And I want you to just look into that camera
and just say, I lost Ricky Hollywood one for me,
I lost Ricky Hollywood one.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
I lost Ricky Holly.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
That stinks. I'm so sorry too. To thank you for
hanging out.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
Thanks.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Probably the only time I can say I'm better than
an NFL player at something that was super fun. But
even more fun right now is Bridget Condon, who's joining
me from NFL Network.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
We're both East Coasters who have been to many Patriots games.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
But before we get into that matchup, I want to
quickly look back at the tough loss against the Dolphins
on on Monday night.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
But first, Bridget, Hello, it's sot good to see you.

Speaker 7 (12:04):
It's so good to see you. It's been a while.
I've seen all my colleagues on Ricky Ramjam and I've
been patiently waiting for my invitation, So I feel so
excited to finally be back and get to talk with you.
I miss seeing you in the building, but always fun
when I get to see you at so FI.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
And then last night you do the Monday Night football
for the UK. Correct, so normally you're with HIMJD. But
we had him at so FI last night, so.

Speaker 7 (12:30):
I know I'm a little jealous. He always brings some
form of spice to that show. I always say that
it's such an interesting show. I don't know if people
are familiar with it, but we air the game in
the UK, so whenever the Monday night broadcast goes to
a commercial, they can't air commercials, so they come to
us in the studio. It's a very interesting show. But
it's been so fun getting to watch with MJD and

(12:53):
just seeing what he sees is mind blowing because as
someone who never played football and just like you know,
a like you and I are, you watch the game
a certain way, but then you're sitting next to an
NFL player and he sees things and I'm like, how
did you see that so fast? Or like how did
you where? Did you even like get that? So it's
been so fun. He's taught me so much and he's

(13:15):
just such I mean, I love that you guys have
him because he's such a fun person to be around.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Yeah, he's He's amazing.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
And I feel that way sometimes even during training camp
with JB Long, who is our radio play by play
and host for the Rams, and it's just we'll be
sitting there and he'll be like, oh, and he kind
of breaks it down for me. And it's so interesting
seeing it seeing it through those guys eyes. So definitely,
we are blessed so Monday night football game against the
Dolphins that the defense did enough for the Rams to

(13:43):
win that game, like limiting Miami to just four point
five yards per play.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
How impressed Bridgett have you been with this young defensive
group on the Rams.

Speaker 7 (13:51):
After that first drive? They did an incredible job. And
I can't speak highly enough about Jared Verse, their rookie
defensive lineman. I know that Aaron Don was at the
game yesterday and everyone was like, God, we miss Aaron Donald.
And no one will ever replace Aaron Donald. But the
way that Les Need and Sean McVay and this Rams
front office have found pieces in the draft to put

(14:13):
a defense together that is competitive with outstar Aaron Donald,
Kobe Turner. I can't say enough good things about him.
It has been so fun to watch and these guys
are so young, So the way that this Rams team
is going to be built from here on out, starting
with the defense, it's gonna be fun to watch for
a long time.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Absolutely, And like Jared Vers, Byron Young, Kobe Turner, Christian Roseboom.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
They were flying around all game.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
And you mentioned it with Aaron Donald when Jared Vers
had his career his first career stripsack and recovered the fumble.
You know, after the strip sack was with Aaron Donald
and the building, like that place erupted. I thought they
were going to blow the roof off so far, so
that was really.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Cool to see.

Speaker 7 (14:57):
You know.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
He continues to make his case for Defensive Rookie of
the Year. He's up for it again for the for
the Defensive Rookie of the Week. It was his third
consecutive game with a sack. I mean, we just kind
of talked about it, but the ceiling of on this
guy is unreal.

Speaker 7 (15:12):
Absolutely, and it's funny you mentioned that because I'm doing
NFL Daily later today with Greg Rosenthal and we're actually
talking about mid season awards a little preview for that.
But Deared Verse, I picked as my defensive Rookie of
the Year because of what he's done so far, leads
all of rookies with four and a half sacks, and
just continues to improve too. You know, like every week

(15:34):
he does something that makes you question, how's this guy
like getting better this quickly? What is he going to
look like when we're talking about week eighteen. So it's
been so fun to see him evolve. And you know,
before he came to the Rams, I didn't know a
ton about him. Of course he was a first round pick,
but I've been so impressed with what he's been able

(15:55):
to do and just you know, the pieces as you mentioned,
all those guys continuing to evolve and get better too.
It's crazy because you talk about the Rams, you think
about Matthew Stafford, Cooper Cup, Puka Nakua, but their defense,
as you mentioned, really kept them in the game for
the majority of last night. So I think sky's the
limit for Jared's verse.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
You talk about the Monday night football game, the offense
kind of struggled to get a rhythm going. But what
does this veteran group of like you said, Stafford, Coop,
DeMarcus Robinson and company have to do to write this
ship against the Patriots on Sunday.

Speaker 7 (16:29):
They just need to be consistent. We heard Sean McVay
say it last night that this offense has been inconsistent.
And the thing is, I said this last night on
our show. At halftime, I said, you know, I really
believe the Rams are going to come out looking different
in the second half because they have all the pieces.
Matthew Stafford has been in so many games. The way

(16:49):
that he's able to just calm down, take a deep breath,
and play his game is so impressive, and you saw
it there in the beginning of the second half. I
really kept thinking until the final whistle was blown. I
thought the Rams were gonna come back and win this
game because they have like just this aura around them
that allows them to play their game no matter what

(17:11):
the score is. It always feels like Matthew Stafford is
in complete control. He never seems frazzled, he never seems
like out of his normal game plan. So I think,
you know, last night was a fluke for whatever reason,
and go back to the drawing board this week and
just do what you do best. I think a big

(17:32):
issue too, was they never really got the run game
going last week or last night for whatever reason. And
when you have Kyron Williams and the run game, it
makes it easier, of course on Matthew Stafford, Cooper Cup, Pukunakua.
So I'm not concerned. I think we all have games

(17:52):
like that. Not me, I don't play, but you know,
like every team has a game where they look not
as good as they have looked. And so I think
Sean McVay, as I know he's a competitor, he's back
in the lab today trying to figure out how to
get back to being the dominant offense that we know
that they can be. It's not that they don't have
the pieces, they just need to find a way to

(18:14):
be more consistent.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
The Patriots are struggling against the run this season, so
like you just said, it's super important to get Kyron
going on Sunday in New England, especially in the red zone.
The Pats defense allowing one hundred and thirty point five
rush yards per game this season, so that will be
exciting to watch. The Patriots sacked Caleb Williams nine times

(18:35):
on Sunday. How much attention does the rams O line
have to pay towards New England's pass rush.

Speaker 7 (18:42):
They have to pay a lot of attention, and I
think Matthew Stafford did get sacked four times, but then
I'm reminded all of those combinations and like playing next
to guys, it takes time to get into a rhythm.
So it's almost like they were back in training camp
trying to figure out new rotations and things like that.
So I think last night was good, and then having
this week of practice with those guys fully healthy is

(19:05):
going to be good. And I almost think it might
be a good thing that they're playing a Patriots team
who just came off of a nine sack performance, because
when you look at this Patriots defense, they're not playing
Patriots defense that were used to you know, five ten
years ago, there are bottom five in terms of defense
in the NFL. Well, the fact that they just sacked

(19:27):
Caleb Williams nine times, to me, it makes you open
your eyes a little bit, like how did the Bears
let this happen? Let's not let that happen again. And
you know their defense is coming off that game like
fired up, like oh, we could beat anybody. So it's
almost a good thing, and I think it'll make them
pay a little bit more attention, then maybe they would
have had they not sacked Caleb Williams at all. So

(19:49):
I think that offensive line is watching a lot of
that tape, figuring out how the Patriots defense got after
the Bears quarterback that much, and trying to eliminate those mistakes.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Bridget, Before I let you go, it's time for the
ram jam. Describe your perfect day, start to finish.

Speaker 7 (20:08):
Oh god, perfect day. Roll out of bed, Maybe take
a walk on the beach to go, get some coffee,
just listen to the birds chirping, go for a little
bike ride, come home, make some chilly like a fall
crisp evening, pop in some corn bread, take a seat

(20:30):
on the couch, watch watch some NFL, finish it off
with you know, maybe a little reality TV, and just
like chill, rod on the couch and go to bed.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Oh my gosh, I love that.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Sign Sign me up.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Which celebrity would you like to switch lives for for
one day?

Speaker 7 (20:47):
And why oh god, oh my god, I'm not good
being put on the spot.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Yeah, so you just want to to Okay, Rihanna would
be a sick one.

Speaker 7 (21:01):
What it's like to have a great voice like I've
always wanted, Just like an incredible voice, because I would
not shut up. I'd be like singing right now.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
All right, lastly, iced coffee on a snowy day or
hot coffee in a heat wave.

Speaker 7 (21:16):
Iced coffee every day, no matter what, even in the
winter ice cl Come.

Speaker 3 (21:20):

my new England sister.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
That was That was stupid. I should have scratched it
from the from the rundown. Awesome, bridget. Thank you so
much for hanging out.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
And it's gonna be a really exciting game at Foxboro
this week, Rams versus Patriots.

Speaker 7 (21:36):
So yeah, I can't wait. That's fun. I'm so jealous.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Yeah, I'm on my way. I can't wait.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
It's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
It's gonna be great to be back in Foxborough and
I'm gonna be wrapping Rams gear, which will be my
first time in home enemy territory.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
So she'll be interesting.

Speaker 7 (21:52):
Okay, well you better rog it or something. I'm dying
to hear how it goes.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
I will, I will.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
