Speaker 1 (00:00):
Today we have a very special day. You know, the
holidays are coming and one of my favorite Christmas movies
happens to be A Christmas Story. And this year Cleveland
Playhouse they are presenting the return of the holiday favorite,
A Christmas Story, and we have some of the wonderful
actors here, Greg Stuhr and Nicole Sumlin. How are you.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Guys, Dora, thank you, Happy holidays.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Happy holidays, and you guys are Ralphie's parents? Indeed, yes,
now I love the story. I love really everything about
the Christmas Story and there's so many notable things about
the movie. Tell us some of your favorites in the movie,
in the play tell us some of the stuff you look.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Well, I think one of my favorite moments is the
moment where the kids are around the flagpole and then
the tongue gets stuck and make him and then we
figure out, you know what happens is this person going
to survive? And it's super funny and super scary at
the same time. I remember seeing that scene when I
was a kid and thinking that all was lost, but
super super funny. That's a moment I like.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
And you know what, my kids they were laughing at
when Ralphie got in trouble when the mom came out
and he really got back at the bully and everything,
and he was cursing and swearing.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yeah, the fight is another memorable moment.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yes, and tell us what's your favorite.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
There's so many moments.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
I mean, of course, the movie's so iconic, and then
to have these kind of replicated on the stage, it's
a different, it's different, but they're recognizable moments, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
So it's funny. I think the audience is always kind of.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Oh, there's the there's the pink bunny suit, there's the lamp,
you know, and you can just feel the audience kind
of react to each of those introductions of those iconic
elements from the film.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yes, it's hard to pick a favorite.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Yes, And then with the leg lamp, every I had
like a little mini version of the leg that was
like so iconic, and you get you get a chance
to throw it away.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
I get a chance to break it. At least that's
what the lore is. There's a lot of debate around
where the mother broke the lamp.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yes, it was it was an accident, yes, and it's
an accident. Yes, listen, you definitely want to get down
to the Cleveland Playhouse and see this play because this
is something good for the whole family. And you can
warn your kids that if they swear, they can get
a bar of soap in their mouth. Listen, old school. Yes,
(02:34):
so you want to come see this classic story, a
Christmas story, and we're going to see mister Greg Stewart
and Miss Nicole Sumlin being Ralphie's parents and doing the thing.
You got to tell me. The dogs that stole the tart.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
