Speaker 2 (01:15):
It's like after you get a certain age, girl, the
way that check engine, like come on their knees, Honey, girl,
I need some poli stir I need some polishtirn fluid
loosen about.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
I remember with mc russell played the Sitting Man and
the door slides to let it trickle down. That used
to be my favorite movie, These knees and back then.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
With girl because like after you, y'all, after you get
past thirty, I won't tell exactly how old I am.
I would say, I'm gonna say that breaking it down
for the nine to nine in the two Thousanes, it
just don't hit the way you.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Used to know more.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
That's why everything is all out of place because we
was doing this dressed business cash from from eight pm

Speaker 1 (02:02):
We have business casules.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
In the clubs, like doing way too much and not
enough for the same.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
But what about you, though, friend? What're irritated?
Speaker 2 (02:11):
You?
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Please enlighten me? Girl. I hate to be this person,
but my dog.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Total you know I'm speaking of the Wizard of Odds.
You see how that was full?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
I like that that's how God be working.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, girl, Toto has been irritating me all really for
about the last month or so.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
What is he doing? Just hyperactive? Don't he stubborn?
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Now he's just trying to think when some days he
don't want to eat his food, and so these last
couple of days, I've been kind of having to not
necessarily force him, but you know, he's just he's heck
up this looking like stak and terrible too, and I'm like,
not you acting like you play bills girl, grown head,
nothing on a bill but nothing, and just staying I'm
gonna send this to him. He didn't know what you're
talking about behind his back, okay, because he's waiting for
(02:55):
you to get back home and you sit here talking
trash a bottom and I'm gonna let him know I'm coming. Yeah,
because y'all know it ain't gonna ben episode.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Of me and Joline.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Just don't say no, we got this, we got well,
I mean, friend, I gotta since we're in a live
events setting, Yeah, we're gonna take the show a different directions.
Oh wow, we're still gonna be missing as that.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
But I have a quick question.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Now, you know you can still ask me the question though,
girl hap, Oh my gosh, I'm so glad you get
on my third girl.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Why.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
I just got an email a couple of days ago
from I'm not gonna name any names.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Oh okay, but.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Someone asked me to do business with someone that I
used today. Now what their relationship was very very toxic. Okay,
this years ago, long time ago. But as soon as
I saw the name, everything in me started to come up.
It was like a volcano about to I just felt them,
and so I was like, this would be a great
(03:57):
thing to talk about on the show, like I do
not already told him no, of course, straight the trash,
because that's where it should have started, sending straight the
tan phone, right.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
It never come to me with this foolish Oh my god.
But that's a good question.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
For our audience and our listeners, like, could you ever
do work with somebody that you had a relationship with?
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Absolutely not?
Speaker 2 (04:17):
You want to know why, because I've already had your funeral,
not really not bringing back the day it is You're
dad to me, I don't want.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
To work with you.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
You don't even exist. Time working with somebody that don't exist,
that's you know what? Now you do that? Okay, what
do I look like? I don't because I, first of all,
I don't have any bad blood with my exes.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Let's be for like we're cool. Well that's one.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Place final though, that we don't have something in com Okay,
right could y'all love to know like what we don't
have in com man?
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Right there?
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I don't want to see them. I don't have no
bad blood with my ex Well, that's for you. Do
I want to see them every day? Do I want
them to know what I'm doing every day? Do? I? Like?
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Girl?
Speaker 2 (04:54):
I just couldn't have made If I seen them every day,
we would have beef. Yeah, I just would. We would
have beef. Because I don't want to see you every day.
I don't want to talk to you every day. I
don't want to collaborate with what you want, no projects.
I don't want to ask you.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Hey, you know I don't want because I don't care
what you have to say. But you know what I
feel like?
Speaker 2 (05:10):
That's people don't understand, like when you're working with coworkers, that's.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Still a relationship.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah, it's a business relationship, it's but it's still a relationship. Yeah,
a relationship If I wanted to be in relationship with you.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
I hello, hello, because you better breathe.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
But God has brought me too far to turn back now,
so I had to go ahead and slide that email
to ches.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
When they see it, they're gonna be like, that's why
she didn't respond to You're right, don't you never ask
me to work with that man ever again, knowing that
we're not together. I'm sure if y'all ask y'all that
you would have seen him on my page. Come on now,
don't play in my face. Don't play in my face.
Friday for a bag? Now, the bag was the bag
was the bag bagging?
Speaker 1 (05:49):
But it wasn't. I wasn't bagging bag.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
I'm saying no, And like it was a bag bag,
it was more like a pocket book.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
I'm like a clutch, Like yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
You know when you go to the restaurant and you
ask for extra sauce, the thing they bring you on.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
The If I'm gonna traumatize myself and disrupt my piece,
it's gonna have to be.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
It's can't come over here with no with no sauce
package full of money.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
It's given big bank, take a little money.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
That's what I need to see everything and I want
the biggest span okay period. Oh my gosh, so this
brings me to uh, I guess another segue is like,
would you be able to do anything really with somebody
who just believes so much more differently than you? I know,
we comm communicated a little bit about folks that you
don't have different political beliefs, Yeah, different family lifestyle beliefs
(06:46):
because we all know, I have to work work this
in here.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Don't have no kids, y'all.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Okay, that's I got at least fifteen thousand, ninety six reasons. Okay,
why you should not have children, having chips As I'm
matriculating through life, you know, it's it's always it can
be difficult, you know, to find the balance in those
kinds of relationships, whether it's professional, personal, romantic, Like you
(07:13):
do you honestly think that you could be in a
relationship with somebody who is just totally different than you,
totally different.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Than yeah, like nothing in common, Like maybe y'all got
one or two things. No, totally not. When it's crazy, Okay,
what if they perfect?
Speaker 2 (07:29):
They shower you with love and attention, They buy you flowers,
take you on days y'all go on trips, y'all can
do like anything together.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Okay, so we get along.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
We just don't have a lot of things in common, right,
Oh yeah, absolutely, yes, I do think that as long
as shower me. You said, but guests, did you include money?
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Gift? Is the money include? That's the key word? Okay, y'all,
I am heard. Theme of this episode is going to
be going get that bank. Yeah, okay, big bank. Take
little all day every day.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Make sure they put exactly so like, yeah, if they
treat me good and we get along, you know what
I mean. We just don't have a lot of the
same interests.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Yes, I do.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
I've been in that situation before and it worked out
really good. I was not saying I'm gonna throw people
for a little because you know, most people will say, yeah,
I want to have things in common. But the more
when you have a relationship with somebody and everything is
in common, it's annoying.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
You're gonna get tired of it's annoying.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
So I don't even think because don't get exposed to
different stuff, like things you normally wouldn't do, Like you
can go into their world and they can come into
your world, like I appreciate that. It's certain things you
wouldn't even think of, like, oh, that's so out of
your realm. You would never think to do those things
or try to like get into them, you know. So
I love that. That's how I feel. I think I
want to try new things. And I think that when
(08:49):
you spend time with people that aren't like you, it's
easier for them to expand you. You know, different types
of foods, different places to go, different hobbies and things
like that.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Now I do have some deal breakers. What are they? Girl,
don't ask me to get in no water. I don't
get no water. Put my toe in there. Friend. You know,
I ain't say that. I said, don't put me in
the water. Why you got braids? Why don't I don't
need to be submerging underwater? But we now, we ain't
come up before I.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
End up hading on what you're asking me to do
in the water. And we're gonna cut the commercial because
in that water, I'm just playing family. No, but I
don't don't ask me to do nothing in no water.
(09:39):
I don't do rasty food because you know, some people
like like like to go get sushi and stuff. If
you got me I needed to be cooked. I'm talking
about steam bro I said, I can't do no rock.
What about cocktail?
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Shrump? Cook it? Oh my god, saying your palette. So
that's how people are explaining their booties. That's how that's
that be that be happening.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
That is time you get food boards and sick or something,
because you know animals carry parasites and no I know,
I know, cook, but we already eating bottom feeders. Regardless
whether you cook it or not. There are things that's
all the way at the bottom of the ocean.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Grill it up.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
I don't want to run and flipping halfway through the
max stress cook. I think I have one stipulation that
I could think of off hands. What's that if you
voted for Trump? Oh, that's it right there, you can
bury them right next to that X. You asked me
to work for.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Early, and that's such such a shame. How they all
passed you and me. It's such a shame, such a shame.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
That's where I oh, no, because we could be in
a relationship. But the minute you go cast that ballet
and I asked you, hey, who.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Did you vote for? That's why I just don't talk
to people about it because.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
I talk to me about it, because d'Elie you not
because you're not me but them. No, not that. But
I'm saying, you know you have a relationship with you, you
better pillow talk to me because I want to know
who you voted for and I'm not playing.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
And I need to know me. You know, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
It's such a We are in such a polarizing time
right now, and everything is a thing right now. There's
a loss of jobs, a loss of housing, Like people
are really really struggling. When you see people don't like
to get too political, but when you understand what is
going on in the government and how it is, yes,
disproportionately affecting black and brown people and women, How could
(11:25):
you go up there and take your triple wise lone?
Speaker 1 (11:34):
How could you? How could you do that?
Speaker 2 (11:38):
And then, girl, you know what also gets me was
the ones who voted and then when they people get deported,
they get on thered and be like, I voted.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
For him and they took my dad. My favorite line
is I can't believe he did that? Is this thing
on girl. He wrote a nine hundred page manifesto.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Hello, and he put it out in his love he said.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Before he did exactly what he did. Started on He's.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Halfway through the least guys, and it's only been what
six months, girls, it feel.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Like a century.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
It feels like we are now in his fourteenth term.
Shit exhausted, We are exhausted and ready to go.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
I want to say, girl, it's bad, but you know,
like we can do everything that we can. Of course,
vote locally, guys, Yes.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
To learn your representatives are, Learn who the people are
that fight for you every day. Yeah, cities agree, and
then just be loud and vocal about it, because I
think people be scared to say stuff.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
But if we're all feeling the same way, we all have.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Something to say, then I don't think it's there's any
harm in all of us being together. Although now will
real quick, I will say that what as a black.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Woman, I'm tired. As a black woman, I'm tired. It
shouldn't be we shouldn't be the ones leading the pack.
This is not this is out of the time. I'm
exalting black people in general.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Yeah, people ahead and say that black people in general,
this isn't our fight. It's like asking women to change patriarchy.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
We're not in charge of it. You can't. It's nothing
we can do about to ask black people to fix
racism because.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
It's not really not really our genre. Okay, we'renning wrong jokes.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Other things, you know, beyonces in town.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Hello, It's just so I think it's tiring, but you know,
we get up and we keep fighting, and we keep learning,
and we keep getting to know other people and seeing what,
you know, what things we do have in common.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Yes, I was asking you that question because it seems
like people.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Have you know, people that drew a line in the sand,
and now they like, we're not all human.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Yeah, that is true. So you know, I'm wondering how
how people are coping.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Because me, I just every time so the traumatic happens,
I just write a new joke. I just say, you know,
so funny. I know I'm already awkward, but at the
same time, it's like that's how black people get through
their pain. We've always been like that, where we will
just crack jokes at the worst time the work, but
just trying to make light of it, you know, like
(14:03):
because if you really think about everything, Okay, I know, girl, girl,
if you think about everything literally right now, I mean right.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
On the money.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
It says if God said right there, right there, okay,
but for real, if you wake up every day thinking
about everything that's going in the world, you would be
no good to yourself. Your mental health will be so
screwed that you probably need to go to psychiatric care.
You know what I'm saying, like impatient, because it's.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Just something happening every single day.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
So in order and especially us as content creators, we
have to be the ones because we're comical and people
are looking at looking for some comedic relief, and so
we gotta write jokes about our pain because without us,
I mean what not.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Saying we are in the world. You know what I'm saying,
We ain't taking over. We are children.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
I felt that in my spirit too, because I feel
like comedians help.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
People get through life. That's what I think. Whether you're a.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Real comedian or just like a family comedian like you
just are the one who could bring life to all situations.
Those are the people you need in your life during
this time. Seriously, stay close to them, I mean laughing
to keep from crying. Like I said, that's that's what
we do. And so I me personally, you know, I'm
in therapy, but I really did have started leaning into
the things that make me happy. And it takes a
sometimes it take a while for you to learn even
(15:22):
what makes you happy, who you are and how you
want to feel about certain games. So it's not, uh,
it's not an overnight thing. You know, like you find
joy where you can. But me like going to therapy,
taking walks anytime I spend with my dog when he's not,
you know, having an attitude.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
But one thing.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
I'm gonna do, I'm gonna put that board and pass
in my wallet. I want to get on that because
this one's gonna travel every time. She's gonna travel every day,
a trip planned every month.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
I feel that I feel that somewhere because I it
can't it can't be here.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Ye can't be can't be right. I feel that it's
don't make me go insane. I have your drink well,
a little Savian, yeah, Savvian black. I'm gonna put me
a glass of wineey girl, because I got to take you.
What's even better than a glass of wine, a glass
(16:15):
of wine in another country.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
But that's a fact. That's a fact, honey.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
I'll be having to get away because you think like this,
staying in this environment will make you think that this
is the way everyone else. Yes, yeah, and it's just
my house. Not true that other places are so much
more beautiful, people are a lot more friendly.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
The food is so much.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
You realize how much we're being poisoned when you go
somewhere else and eat their food and you be like
all the stuff, I'd be sick or something. You know,
I've said, my stomach whenever it'sn't even.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Bother is like when you eat stuff you want to
go to sleep on. Yes, all the time.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
That's the reason why we have the itis. We get
full and we want to lay down. Girl, When we
was in we was in Italy eating everything four course
meals three times, and your stomach wasn't upset. It wasn't
going to see see. And that's that's what I'm saying,
just quality for We was in a Ruba. Oh girl,
the food and a Ruba. They was just pulling a
fish right out the seat. I'm just grabbing them by
the neck just right off there inside I have to
grab up and.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Just grabbed them by the neck, griding them up. It
was so good.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
The sev check not net you know, that's my thing.
Oh bool Okay, so next time, we're going back to Panama. Okay,
you're coming to Panama and I'm taking you to this place.
It's called Hoda HATI and the real M Baby best
save che I tried while I was there, and I
thought about you. Yes, y'all don't know, but me and
Joline when we go out of town, like we gotta
test the suv check that let us know.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Everything we need to know about where we at. You
know what I'm saying. So yes, ma'am, I will be there.
You got to start there already.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Know, And I think too, like like I said, just
getting getting out and experiencing new things. Yeah, you know,
and sometimes it could be a little rough, but we
are finding ways as content creators to get through it all.
This last one segment, I know, I know we got
to get out of here, but I want to touch
on one more thing before we go. Since we are
here and we're in a room full of creators and
we're feeding all these you know, inventive and inspiring and
(18:06):
educational people in all these different industries, what is the
most challenging thing for you about being a full time
content creative burnout?
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Okay, that was a very quick answer, you felt that, Yeah,
I like it.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Burnout and I'm gonna be transparent. You know even now
you know what I'm saying, like.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Working, work and work and work and work.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Knowing those signs before you get to a point where
you don't want to do anything. I think that you
don't realize when you're a constant creator, how much you
are exerting energy every single day doing and I do skits,
I do food reviews, I cook, I do wig reviews,
I do so many different things. You don't realize how
much energy you're exerting, and then you have to turn
(18:46):
around and edit and exert even more energy the editor footage.
But my birthday was in May. I still haven't done
the blog for my birthday in May. I believe it, girls,
I believe it. It's just like I think, just being
in tune with yourself. You want to do will you
want to do the content, but you also got to
listen to your body. Yeah, and know when hey, I'm
kind of like don't want to do anything, I don't
(19:07):
want to buy, ask me to do nothing. Everything is
kind of getting on my nerves. That's the indicator for me.
Things that usually wan't bother me. Girl bothered me to
the tea like, oh, it's bothersome. I'm very annoyed, and
I just be like, Okay, I'm obviously burnt out and
I need too and I need to like slow down,
I need to slow down. I need to take a
step back and reset. And so girl, that's what I've
had to do.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
I'm glad you shared it with me, and I want
to be transparent with you too.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
I think that one of the most difficult things for
me is having in the past always feel like I
was alone and people couldn't relate because you know, friends, family,
everybody got a job, everybody got kids, and they're doing
They're living this cookie cutter lifestyle that was planned out
for them, and so I think about that, and you know,
sometimes it just it seems like nobody can understand how
(19:50):
you're feeling and what you're going through. That's why I'm
really glad that we ended up connecting, because now I
know I can just pick up the phone and I
can start talking and you already get it, yes, Like
I don't need to try to explain to you whatever
going through how I'm feeling.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
I love that about a fresh show.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
You know what, I mean, so I think just in
the spirit of being here at the National Urban League
Conference and again meeting all these amazing people, just knowing
that you are not alone and finding community wherever you
can find it, as long as it's healthy and a
positive connection that grows you and holds you accountable and
supports you.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Then I think I love that. I know I have
to agree with everything you said I do.
Speaker 2 (20:28):

different demand than a nine to five. Honey.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
