O debate político sobre o TGV voltou a ser um assunto de Estado, com o concurso público para a primeira fase do projecto (Porto-Oiã). O Governo tem pressa em lançar o concurso neste mês de Janeiro para demonstrar a maturidade do projecto e obter financiamento da União Europeia. Uma PPP será responsável pela concepção, construção, manutenção e financiamento da linha, com o Estado a assegurar uma renda pela sua disponibilização. Além disso, a linha de Trás-os-Montes não está incluída nas redes transeuropeias, o que inviabiliza, para já, o financiamento comunitário e atira para as calendas a sua execução. Neste episódio, houve também espaço para a discussão sobre os atrasos nos calendários do Ferrovia 2020 e PNI 2030 e a forma como a CP fica para trás em relação à concorrência, especialmente em termos de preços e promoções.
