Faltam também as carruagem-silêncio e os novos comboios para a CP, com uma consequência já evidente: depois do acidente na passagem de nível de Alpedrinha (Linha da Beira Baixa), a CP resolveu "abrandar" os comboios para Évora. Para os passageiros, acenou com mais lugares, mas também com mais atrasos e menos conforto.
