Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's twenty seven degrees in Jacksonville's seventeen degrees in Liverpool
it's fifteen and kill Kenny. This is till Talk, the
official Jacksonville janku is ukn RM podcasts, presented by Gallagher.
I'm Jay Lawrence, no relation, Key, Ram surin Is. Here's
a big show. There's a big show. And we have
Britain's most beloved NFL pundit and analyst Jason Bell and

(00:26):
receiving here from the kickoff win against Carolina as well.
Brenton Strange is on the podcast. I'm not gonna lie Key,
this feels pretty good. Week one victory. This is a
victory podcast this week.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
It feels nice, doesn't it?

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Jake, Jay, there was some rain about five minutes ago
in Brighton. Do you think we should delay the podcast?

Speaker 1 (00:48):
It was very light rain.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Maybe we should delay by an hour and a half.
What do you think.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Maybe we should? Maybe we should kick off win Key
kickoff win against the Carolina Panthers to have a win.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
How great to see some physical football. How great to
see the players talking positively as they left the field. Yeah,
fantastic Sunday night. How do you feel about it?

Speaker 1 (01:11):
I feel I feel weird, and I'm going to explain
why I feel weird. Key Okay, because it was a
twenty six ten victory, and we're going to go through
this game a little bit and we'll talk about various
aspects of it. But the one thing that I'm gonna
take away from this game, and I think it is
partially because of those storms and the weather delay as well,
is that And I shouldn't say this because I'm not

(01:34):
like tempting fail or anything, but like it felt fine.
It felt good, Like it felt like the Jaguars were
in control of the entire match. And I think you
have a whole off season where you're thinking, you know,
this part needs to improve, this aspect, you know, we're
good here and all of that. Everything just seemed to

(01:56):
go well on the first game of the season.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Key yeahs.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Like there's a nervous system element of being a Jags
fan where you're constantly expecting something dramatic is going to happen,
something big, and I suppose the storm was a little
bit of that. But in terms of how the team performed,
they were in control, there were no surprises. They did
what they said they were going to do well.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I think that by the time that that weather delay occurred,
the Jags were already in such a good position in
the game. It felt like it was almost, you know,
playing out the rest of the game was you know,
I don't want to use the word formality, but I'm
gonna it felt like a formality. There was one a
couple of things I want to pick up on this game.
The first first thing, which I think was really really

(02:44):
you know, amazing to see, really great to see, was
that running game, particularly of course led by Travis Etn
leader in snaps, took full advantage one hundred and forty
three yards in this game, including you know, one.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Particular seventy one yard and that was that was straight
up the break and that for me was a real
big moment to come back from that hour and a
half or whatever it was delay. And then this play
happened almost immediately after that, a seventy one yard run.
I was like, Yeah, this is this is our day today.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
And after all of that conversation as well about who's
going to be that running back one, Is it going
to be a committee, Is Tank Bigsby going to be
the running back one or no, Travis Etn he made
it his own by father leader in snaps, Tank Bigsby,
over the course of the last couple of days has
been traded for picks to the Philadelphia Eagles, which to

(03:36):
me is further confirmation that we are seeing no, this
is Travis Travis Etn's team, beashell. Tuton as well. Of
course he got some snaps. It's great to see him,
you know, get onto for his NFL debut as well.
That combined with the fact that the O line zero
sex in this game, it was a really i think,

(03:57):
accomplished performance and he exactly what you want to see,
you know, especially considering the O line and the running game.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Do you know what, I'm glad you've mentioned the offensive
line because Tony Basselli has been talking about the offensive
line for absolutely years on the radio show, and now
he's in a position to be able to do something
about it. And I think we saw massive I'm sure
we'll talk to Jason about it, but there were massive
improvements in the offensive line on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
There's still work to be done.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
But the thing that stood out to me as we
were talking to Jason about it last week is that
coaching works like there were specific players Anton Harrison being
one of them where you can see the coaching in
the off season. This season has made a massive difference
to him. So that was really pleasing to see that
and pleasing to know that we talked about him specifically
on the podcast last week and about the coaching and

(04:49):
that hey, maybe we know what we're talking about.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
It it wasn't I'd like to make it clear that
I say that it was in a complice performance that
it absolutely words. It doesn't mean that there weren't like
mistakes at any point. Lawrencey did throw an interception. I
would also just to like to say plaudits to Panthers J. C.
Horn for the most acrobatic interception that I think I've
seen in a while, to be honest with you. But
at the same time, both sides of the ball I

(05:13):
think did a really good job too. Interceptions for the
Jags as well, great. I mean, I think they were
both if I remember correctly, they were both three without
a penalty. J Yeah, well there was a pick six,
of course, but you can't forget the picture when you
look at all of this together. Look, I don't think
the Carolina Panther is going to be the most explosive
team that we that we're going to play this season. However,

(05:35):
for game one, week one, this is what you need.
And I think that when it comes to the Jags,
it's all we really could have asked for.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Dude, It's like we were saying last week, right, James
Gladston said they want to get better week week on
week right, and looking at how they played this Sunday
compared to the majority of the games that were played
last season, would you say that overall that was better?
I would say, yeah, probably that was overall better last season.
So that's all we can ask for. And as a fan,

(06:03):
if they get better than that every week, we're going
to be all right.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Man, We've got to talk about the fourth and one
choice as well. Fourth and one y in the JAG's
own half.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Isn't retrospect an amazing thing?

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yeah? I mean its a lot, doesn't it. It says
so much about how you want your you know, what
coach Cohen wants to do with this team.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
To me, if you're on their thirty seven, that makes
I don't know, I think it was a thirty seven,
thirty six, whatever it was, right. If you're on their
thirty five yard line. That makes sense because you don't
have that far to go to get to the end zone.
But that's a real gutsy call and that's what they
said they were going to do, and that's what they're doing.
Because if you don't make that fourth and one, it

(06:46):
says one thing, you're massively relying on your defense. So
they've got a lot of faith in the defense if
you don't get that fourth and one, But also they've
got a lot of confidence in the offense to think,
no problem, we're going to go for that and we're
going to get it. And they got it, and I
think if we do that for the majority of the season,
great stuff.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Man.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, it's a nice little end around from Army Brown
as well. On that one. It's sort of been, I
want to say, popularized, But in the last couple of
years we've seen a lot more teams do it in
the NFL, haven't we, Dan Campbell, The Detroit Lions love
a good old fourth and one no matter where they
are on the field, and you're.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Like playing Madden in the early two.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
But mentality, I think it does say a lot. I
think you're right no matter how that sort of ends up,
it shows that you do have confidence in your team.
I think that early on in the season. Actually, that
says a lot. All right, it's still to come on
the show. We're going to hear from Jason Bell. We're
going to get his thoughts on that game against the
Carolina Panthers. We're going to get his thoughts on the
game coming up against the Cincinnati Bengals, which is going
to be a big one for Week two as well. First,

(07:46):
so let's hear my conversation with Brenton Strange, tight end
for the Jacksonville Jaguars. How's it going, man? How you doing?

Speaker 5 (07:55):
It's going great. I appreciate you guys having me on.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Not at all, not at all. I mean, look, congratulate
on the Week one victory. I mean you led the
team and receiving yards. Didn't your fifty nine yards four
catches in the opener? Talk to me about that. How
did that feel for you? You know, getting week one?
You know done? And Dustin, how is that few? Personally,
it feels really good.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
Honestly, it felt good on Sunday and I got to
enjoy it a little bit with my family and some
friends that were able to make the game, So it
felt really good. To enjoy that with them. But I'm
just I'm ready for the next thing now, Like I'm ready,
My mind's already moved on from last week and just
ready to get a good week of prepping for the
Bengals and make the most out of everything.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Yeah, at what point do you start just forgetting about
the game that's already happened, Like a day later, two
days later, I.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
Would say, like Monday night, like, I'll watch the film
Sunday night after the game, and then Monday like, I'll
watch it one more time to just see if I
missed anything or just just correct myself technique wise, and
then kind of just flush it and move my mind
on to the next thing.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
I want to talk about your blocking game. Actually in
that last game, if you don't mind obviously mentioned you're
receiving there but two big blocks in that game for
two of the probably the biggest players of the entire
game as well that that huge Travis et and seventy
plus yard run and the touchdown catch as well from
hunt along. Can you talk me through those two plays.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
Yeah, I'm just I'm split flowing across the bar. That's
what we call it, slicing across the bar I'm going.
My technique is I'm going through the inside leg of
the backside tackle. So I'm just trying to keep a
tight track and just you know, it's it's a whilblock.
So just going in there and just throwing my body
in and being selfless for the team.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
From a receiving point of view, I mean, Travis Hunter
joined the team. You know, you got d Army Brown
on the team, Brian Thomas Junior, who's quite a good
person at catching a ball, some really good receiving options there.
How are you finding, you know, like asserting yourself and
creating a role for yourself as well in this passing game.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
I mean, I don't think I have to assert myself
at all. I mean we have great players, we have
great playing makers, and I think that those guys do
a great job of what they do and they honestly
just like those guys come out here every single day
and they do what they do and it inspires me
to go harder and it inspires the other guys around them.
So I don't I don't think anybody has to insert theirselves.

(10:15):
I think it's just just going out every single day
and just being who we are. We're in these positions
for a reason, and God put us here for a reason.
So I just think it's just going out here and
doing what we do.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Obviously, you've got this. You mentioned that the Bengals next
in week two one, and I already two and oh
how important would it be to get to two and
o and get these wins early on. So it's a
tough stretch in the first half of the season, particularly
for the Jags.

Speaker 5 (10:44):
Yeah, I mean, it's a very long season. But it's
always the good good to get wins. Excuse me, it's
always good to get wins, no matter what part of
the season you're in. And that's obviously our goal every
time we step out onto the field is to win.
So you know, that's what makes me the happiest, is
just going out there and winning each each and every week.

(11:05):
But we're gonna come out here this week during the
week and execute like like we do and get our
prepping and once we do that, I think everything else
will take care of itself, you know.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
And it was a good performance, you know, from from
all three stages of the ball against in the first week.
But moving towards the Bengals, how do you look at
that and how do you think, you know, we need
to build on this.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
Yeah, I think it's just about building on our momentum.
You know, we see how we played and obviously we
had some penalties, and I think it's just about cleaning
up the mistakes that we made, the self inflicting mistakes.
And if we can clean up the self inflicting mistakes,
and I think that we'll have a good shot not
only this next week, but throughout the entire year.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Look, when I do an interview Brenton, I like to
think that I do a little bit of preparation beforehand, right,
maybe find out a little bit about the person that
I'm speaking to. So I was like, okay, right, let's
see what I can find out about Brendon Strange that
I didn't know about already. I'm gonna be honest with you.
I came up shure. I mean, I couldn't find too
much about, you know, the personal life of Brenton Strange.

(12:09):
What you like to do, you know, when you're not
playing ball. This is your opportunity now to let us
know when you're not thinking about ball, when you're not
playing ball, when you're not on the practice field, what
do you get up to Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
I mean I do a lot of different things. I
like to enjoy the outdoors, enjoy the mountains, enjoy the
beach here in Jacksonville. Travel. I enjoy it when we
go to London and we get the opportunity to, you know,
go experience a different culture, go experience different food, you
guys as well, the fans and the people. I enjoy that.

(12:45):
And you know, obviously the number one thing for me
is just family time. Spending time with my family, spending
time with my little brother, spending time with my mom,
everybody in my family. So those are probably my top
three things.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
They are they down with you in Jacksonville?

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Excuse me?

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Do they live with you down in Jacksonville?

Speaker 6 (13:02):
Nah?

Speaker 7 (13:03):
Nah?

Speaker 5 (13:03):
I live by myself. But whenever I get the opportunity
to see him or get to spend time with him,
that's that's probably my top favorite thing to do.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
I mean, you mentioned London there, didn't you. It's literally
what like a month. I think it might be like
around a month to the day maybe that you're actually
going to be, you know, coming over here to the UK.
How you found spending time then over here?

Speaker 5 (13:23):
You know, I like it a lot. I've i had
never been out of the country before until I went
to London. I took some trips this this offseason to
some different places out out of the country, but my
rookie year, I had never been out of the country before. So,
like I said, it was just like experiencing your guys' culture,
experiencing you know, the real the real pastas and stuff
like that. I'm a big pasta guy, so uh, just

(13:45):
just doing things like that, and you guys have a
have a great like I don't know what the area
is called. I can't think of it off the top
of my head, but it's like where all the shopping
centers are at and stuff like that. You know, just
walking around and being within your guys's community. It's it's
it's very nice and I always enjoy myself over there.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Is there anything surprising or anything unusual that you came
over here and we're like, oh, oh, that.

Speaker 5 (14:07):
Is like that, you know, I said, I had never
been out of the country before, and I had heard
that the food in different places is healthier than it
is in the US. But I get over there and
I'm like, man, I lost like five seven pounds, but
that would be the one thing is just how much
healthier the food is over there, and it's a good thing.

(14:28):
Like he's a little switch up every once in a while.
But I eat pretty well, so it doesn't It doesn't
bother me as much.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Do you know what we always talk about? We always
find that it goes back to food, always goes back
to food when it comes to uh, when it comes
to talking about coming to the UK. All right, you know,
last question for you, Brenton. It's a long fight over
to the UK right from Jacksonville. And the way that
I see is you got to have someone next to
you on the plane that doesn't snow and doesn't I mean,
doesn't smell. One hundreds it can't. They can't smell. I

(14:57):
want to know who you sit next to on the plane,
and I don't know how how are they?

Speaker 5 (15:02):
Well? This year I sit next to Parker Washington, and
so far on the trips he hasn't snored, and I've
known him for a while and he hasn't ever smelled.
So hopefully that doesn't change in between. Would you say
the month that we got yeah, I got a pretty
good good partner on the plane, So I'm excited about

(15:23):
all the away trips excited about all the games and
just ready to get rolling.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
All right, so if we've seen in about a month's time,
you've got to make a bee line to me, and
you've got to be like Parker. Now he started smelling, man,
he started. Brendan, thanks so much for joining to talk.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
I appreciate you, guys.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Brendan strange, lovely guy. Not only a lovely guy, actually,
he's a very talented football player. And as I mentioned
in my conversation with him as well, Key, what was
particularly impressive is that not only with his receptions, but
the blocking for some huge plays in that game as well.
I don't think it can be understated just how important
he was in that victory.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
Yeah, that Travis et and seventy one yard are in
large part, like he played a big part.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
In that touchdown as well, that hunts a long touch.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Yeah, that is a tight end doing what a tight
end should be doing, which is you're blocking and your receptions,
and he did them both exceptionally well on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
That was great to say.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Side note, it's been how long into this episode and
we've not mentioned the name Travis Hunter.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Gosh, that's interesting.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Yeah, and do you know what and this must be
a record for this podcast, considering that Key Ramsuurin is
a co host, it's this far into the podcast, and
the names Brian Thomas Jr. Or Cam Little have not
been mentioned either, But this must be a record.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
New regime, new names, new stuff to talk about. There
we go positive, right that we just don't we don't
have those same old things to be talking about. There's
fresh new things to be talking about.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Man, Yeah, absolutely absolutely all right. Jason Bell joining us
in a second to go through the Panthers game to
talk about the Bengals game as well. First though, we
mentioned last week that we're holding a sweepstakes to allow
more fans the opportunity to attend open practice, and I
can confirm that this is open now, so make sure
you register details to be able the chance of attending

link on the homepage, you'll also find hospitality links on
there as well. And also lastly, Key and I don't
want to understate just how amazing this opportunity is as well.
I don't want this to be like a throwaway thing,

(17:57):
because this is actually we could just do like a
whole fifteen minute segment on this because I just think
it's it is a massive opportunity for a Jags fan.

(18:42):
Jason Bell, everybody, Jabell, how's it going going well?

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Man?

Speaker 7 (18:47):
Excited to park about Jack Wow's football? Which you are
tell Talk? I like that name, man, I like Teal
It looks fly on everything. You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Like you can?

Speaker 7 (18:56):
You can your sneaker game can always roll with it.
Oh yeah, let's do that, man.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
So what you're saying, Jabo's we need to get some
official T shirts. You need to be rocking the shirt
on the on sky. That's what you're saying, right.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Listen, you know the deal. You know the deal, man.

Speaker 7 (19:12):
You know Trevor Lawrence is like we're like family now,
so I might as well represent for him.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
All right, So Jason, you're gonna be here breaking down
the giant Goose performance for us every single week. And
we've got five big questions. Are you ready? J Bell?

Speaker 7 (19:26):
Let's do this, man, Let's let's have a good time.
Let's see if I fit the narrative?

Speaker 4 (19:31):
All right?

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Where was the game one for the Jags in this
win against the Panthers.

Speaker 7 (19:37):
You know what, I'm a defensive guy, let's be honest.
I spend my time watching that, loving that, understanding that,
and they set the tone. I mean, when you can
get after and force turnovers like they do, that flips
the game. And that's exactly what happened. When you can
keep the score down low, it allows you to lean
in on what you want to do. Liam Cohen wants
to run the ball. The running game look diverse. You

(19:57):
can keep it on the ground and make it easy
for your quarterback when you do have to throw. So
I think it started with the defense keeping it tight
and keeping it right, man.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
That is the key.

Speaker 7 (20:06):
And you got to protect Trevor Lawrence, which he was
you know, that was the whole thing they talked about
this offseason. Can you protect him? Play complimentary football. Special
teams chipped in and that's the key. Man. You want
to keep manageable down in distances and you want to
take the ball away and they did that.

Speaker 6 (20:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
I still felt like all sides of the ball are
really playing up to paw for the first game of
the season as well with Jabo.

Speaker 7 (20:28):
And that's what you want to see when you have
a new coach. A new organization. Does it all fit,
does it feel right? Does it look right? Does it
sound right? And it did. They got plenty of things
they need to work on, but overall, they answered a
lot of questions that they wanted in the offseason. I
love what they did on the ground. I love the
diverse running game. And that's exactly what we expected from

(20:51):
Leon Khin because that's what he did at his previous employer.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
All right, so who was the star of the show.

Speaker 7 (20:57):
I mean, you got to give it a Travis etm
I mean you got to You gotta give it to him.
Seventy one yard scamper, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
He looked fresh leg.

Speaker 7 (21:06):
You know, I like to look at how fast they run,
and he ran over twenty miles an hour, and that
lets me know he has juice in his leg. And
on that big run, you saw the vision right. It
was it was a zone type run, but you you
had Brennan Strange coming back with the block and it
took that vision right. And that's exactly what he did.
He made people miss like it wasn't as it wasn't

(21:27):
as simple as just.

Speaker 4 (21:28):
Being blocked up.

Speaker 7 (21:29):
Like he gets the rock, he cuts back. He makes
two people miss, one and the whole one in the
open field. That's what you want to see. Liam Cohen
was gonna scheme up proper runs that should get blocked up.
But as a running back, you have to make somebody miss,
you have to make one person miss.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
And he did that.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
I mean, I'm pro hype for Tragogy Chen as well
for multiple reasons. First of all, out injured for you know,
a lot of last year, a lot of talk about
the running back committee and who'sa and we haven't even
spoken about this in this this po cast so far.
He beat his brother. He beat his brother, his brother
on the other side for the Panthers, and you know
that would be sweet.

Speaker 7 (22:08):
But do you know before the game they talking about
that man family up there. You know, you know I
always laugh when they got the two jerseys. You know
what I'm saying, Like the mom and the day I
got the jersey and the front jersey. Yeah, you picking somebody, man,
But yeah, it's always good to pick your brother. And
he performed well. What you want to see from him
is explosive runs, especially when they're blocked up, and that happened.

(22:30):
So I gotta give it to him. I think he
had over eight yards per carry because of that run.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
You gotta roll with that.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Who was the unsung hero of the day.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
I mentioned him. He got that block.

Speaker 7 (22:41):
Brendan strange man. Brend's strange bro. I mean, he had
fifty nine yards. He had that key block. And the
thing I liked about him is that dirty work man.
He had a big role to step up into and
he made it happen. You know, when the play action
pass happens, he's going to be the guy that gets
the rock, especially over the middle when those linebackers step up.
That's exactly what he did. You want to see great

(23:02):
performances by him in the past and the run game,
because why when you have a good tight end who
can block well and is a good receiver, then if
he's on the field a lot of times, you gotta
play with your base defense if you put two tight
ends out there, right, So you need a weapon like that,
and he came through for him man, And I also like,
I gotta, I gotta, I gotta bring this back to
the secondary. I mean, Jeorge Lewis had some plays today

(23:25):
or the other day, but it's today in my mind,
so it doesn't matter and that's what matters is that
the secondary came up with some plays.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
Man.

Speaker 7 (23:33):
They had the later interception, they got a bunch of
PBUs Tyson, Campbell made a he did made some good
plays man, and that's what you want to see. The
secondary hold it together and they did that. So I
like what they did, and I like Strange at the
tight end position.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
I think what was particularly exciting about the defense in
week one is it wasn't you know, a whole lot
of one playoff even just like one position group there was.
There were moments from the linebackers, the dbs as well,
and it just seemed to be that every single time
something happened, pretty much it was a different player doing it.

Speaker 7 (24:08):
I mean Foyer came through right, yeah, I mean two
big turnovers, man, and you expected out of him, big
time leader. But you're absolutely right, it was a team effort.
Once again, back to the narrative, what do you want
to see when you have a new regime team football,
Everybody going out there, compliment each other, coming out with the.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
Win, Let's move on to week two. What needs to
get better?

Speaker 4 (24:31):
Man, You gotta get on the penalties, man.

Speaker 7 (24:33):
You don't want to beat yourself I mean, that's gonna
be the one thing right now they look at the
tape and they're gonna say, yep, hey, congratulations, good job here,
good job here. Don't beat yourself. This is a penalty.
Stop this here, make sure that doesn't happen. And then
if you're Trevor Lawrence, you don't want to make any mistakes.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
Man.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
You know, you don't want to get any turnovers. You
got to clean that up. That'll be key. And just
making sure you know you're healthy going in next week.
You know, that's what you always need to focus on.
But these are ways beat yourself, turnovers and penalties. Focus
on that all right.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
Specifically, then how do the Jags beat the Bengals.

Speaker 7 (25:08):
They got to replicate the pressure that they got this week.
You know, you have to disrupt Joe Burrow.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
That's the key.

Speaker 7 (25:15):
Put bodies around him, make him feel uncomfortable in the pocket,
that's the key.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
And then on offense, you got to continue to stay balanced.
What I mean, run pass balance.

Speaker 7 (25:24):
Even if you're not successful in your runs, you need
to make sure you're running so then you make it
easy with the play action pass and things like that.
And also the clock is running because you do not
want to give Joe Burrow a ton of opportunities on offense.
When you play a great quarterback, you have to play
keep away.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
That is the key. When we played against Peyton Manning,
that was.

Speaker 7 (25:45):
Always our agenda. Make him have less possessions, and when
they do possess the ball, you got to force a
turnover if you can get the ball back for your
offense like they did this week. When you understand you
only have so many possessions, people that win the turnover
margin usually win, So try to do that. Don't try
to force the turnovers. Let them come to you because

(26:06):
you're playing discipline defense.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
With the Bengals as well. They beat the Browns seventeen
sixteen Week one, just Browns could easily have won that game. Historically,
over the last few years, they have stuttered at the
beginning of the season. I don't know how much you
need to take that into consideration. I'm not quite sure,
to be honest with you, but there is an opportunity
here to get the Bengals before before they're in their

(26:29):
flow like they usually get into.

Speaker 7 (26:31):
Yeah, without a doubt, and they're talking about that these
are these are things that coaches are discussing, right, we
know who they are when they start, so let's take
advantage of them. Now, one thing you can look at
on tape is against this matchup, you got to disrupt
these wide receivers. Cleveland has good defensive backs. They're known
for that. That's what they do. If you can take
their top two guys, Higgins and Chase out of there,

(26:53):
that makes sense. So disrupt those receivers and go about
your business. That pass rush needs to eat.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Though, last week, by the way that we all predicted
a Jags win, point to us all well done, as
well done as two points to me. Yeah, two points
to me because I almost got it right because Key
was ridiculous. Because we're not We're not going to waste
time on Key's prediction. I'm still predicting the Jags win though,
So gets.

Speaker 5 (27:19):
J BO.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
You got you predicted twenty one seventeen, which is good. However,
twenty five eighteen was my prediction closest, so I get
a couple of points there. Now, what are we saying
this week? Key, We'll get We'll get your ridiculous one
over and done with.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
It's not going to be ridiculous, It's going to be
twenty seventeen to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and I think it's
going to be down to winning field goal from Cam Little.
It always involves Cam Little somehow. That's what's going to
happen this week.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
It always does. Jay Bell, You're up.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
I'm up.

Speaker 7 (27:53):
I don't want this to ruin our relationship because I
feel so strong about this this pack, like I feel
like we'd do well at a sports bar together like that.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
That That's where I'm coming from.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
It depends on what you're about to say.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
It depends, it depends.

Speaker 7 (28:07):
I'm not even going to do a score because I
don't I don't want to be reprimanded by my friends
on the higher levels.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
I'm scared of Joe Burrow. I cannot lie.

Speaker 7 (28:15):
If that defensive line can eat, we got a chance,
but I'm quite scared and I can't go against Joe
Burrow on this.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
It's really it's difficult to do. It's tough.

Speaker 7 (28:24):
Sorry, this is just I mean, this is just I
just gotta be real because this is the relationship we have.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
I'm rolling.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
I need the Jags to make this happen. They get
this win, man, we talking next week after that? Are
you kidding?

Speaker 6 (28:36):
Me.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
I need this defense to eat. I'm just trying to
motivate them by going the other way.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
To you, Higgins, Jamal Chase, different bass man.

Speaker 7 (28:43):
This is a challenge, but they can answer the Bell,
and I want them to do that. I'm just scared
because Joe Burrow always scares me.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
And I'll say Jags win because you know, some of
us have to be homers here, J Bell, he says,
having predicted them to lose. A few guys Glad Villain,
I was, I'll say, I'll say a do you know what,
Let's let's say it. Let's say it all comes down
to a missed extra point for the Bengals. It's a
twenty one twenty victory for the Jacksonville Jaguars, six pm

(29:14):
UK time on the road in Cincinnati on Sunday. It's
a big one. Actually, J Bell, before you leave us,
you're a great hype man. Let's just end with J Bell,
given us or given the Trevor Lawrence the Jacksonville Jaguars
a couple of sentences, a nice like moment of hype
before the game.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
Trevor to beat the glasses off.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
By the way, Sorry I'm interrupting, but he took the
glasses up.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
He listen, listen, listen, Trevor.

Speaker 7 (29:38):
To be the best, you gotta beat the best, and
opportunities when they come like this, you gotta shine. It's
not about that guy on the other side taking the
snaps what it is and every time he's on the field,
you need to outdo him.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
You need to show your sideline. You're the man that
they're going to rally behind.

Speaker 7 (29:56):
This is a big win, a big opportunity, a big
step in mind.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Man, you are ready to do it.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
I've got the music from Gladiator playing underneath that. That's unbelievable.
I would go to war for you.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Jay Bell, that's my guy.

Speaker 7 (30:09):
I mean, you know, let me, let me, let me
tast some, let me tast something. I'm the best follower
you ever met. So I'm I'm I'm following y'all into
the trenches.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Let's do this.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
J Bell, thank you so much for catch up with
you next week.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
Til next time. Fellas.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
Imagine what Jason would be like if he wasn't utterly
ravaged by being on several planes over the last like
three days. Jet lag man, you know, if that's him,
If that's jet lag hype man, Jason Key, I don't
know if I want to see somebody that when he's
had a good amount of sleep.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
That was like the difference between the British hype man
and American hype man today. Today j Bell was truly British,
truly British and yet still incredibly good at hyping.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Hyping you up, do you know what I mean? Excellent
prediction from as all accept Jason as well. One thing
I just want to mention as well before I forget
Key too with predictions, is I've been really enjoying my prize,
my Trevor Lawrence bobblehead. It's been really great to have
it sent over from you. You know, I think I've

(31:17):
got that, didn't I did? You haven't sent it. You
haven't sent it yet, key, not.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
It's not still in my bedroom at home.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Yeah. So what you're saying is it's going to get
sent this week, key Jay.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
It is packaged up and ready to go, and you
will be getting it a sap. But bearing in mind
that the post in my area is notoriously slow.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
All right, Bengals Jags Sunday, big game. It's always a
big game. Week two of the season. I think it's
fair to say hard opponent. Let's hope Jags get the win.
We'll be here next time next week.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
It feels like when a young boxer is going into
their first and they're given an easy opponent to make
themselves feel good. There's a little bit of an element
of that. The Jags playing the Panthers in their opening
game and then you're going into But do you know what,
like we said earlier, if the Jags keep doing what
James Gladstone wants them to do and getting a little

(32:15):
bit better every single game. The Bengals didn't look great
on Sunday, they did just enough to beat the Browns.
They're still a chance, man, and I think if the
Jags get better and the Bengals don't, why not.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Yeah, we'll see when We will be here next week.
Jason will be back as well. This has been Teel
Talk in association with Gallagher Shooting Sharp production for Jacksonville,
Jaguar's UK and Ireland and do not forget. Just search

Speaker 6 (32:44):
We'll be back next week. Up
