Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's twenty six degrees in Jacksonville, eighteen degrees in Cantabri,
it is fourteen degrees in Dundee. This is Tiltalk, the
official Jacksonville, Jakie, is UK and Island podcast presented by Gallagher.
I'm Jay Lawrence, no relation, Key ram Surin is here
and Jason Bell is going to be breaking down the
Jags win against the forty nine Ers at looking forward

(00:22):
to the Chiefs on Monday Night football as well. Key
Ram Suran Jacks three and one.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
I am surprised that Devin Lloyd isn't hosting this podcast
because he seems to be everywhere that what what a
night that was on Sunday. Let's get into it, j
because that was that was phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
I mean I text you the text you early, didn't
I say, And we need to have some sort of
Devin Lloyd loving at some point in this podcast because
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
I didn't text back. My arms were still in the
air in celebration.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Being the forty nine ers three and one. Kansas City
Chiefs coming up next. By the way, this is the
give us your start, Jake, because this is excellent. Yeah
it is. I mean, it's excellent, but like I think,
it's like incredibly surprising at the same time, the three
and one for just the second time in the last
eighteen years for the Jacksonville Jaguars, which I know is

(01:13):
like a crazy stat because of course, you know, nobody
particularly wants to have that stat. There's be frank they don't.
They don't want it to be second time in eighteen years.
But what that does do is it just proves, Okay, okay,
we might be looking at something here, key, we might
be looking at a decent, decent year.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
It felt like that on Sunday. The energy is completely different,
do you know what I was thinking? So I like
watching the press conferences and I like watching the locker
room talk after the game and stuff. I've been watching
that for about five years now, and the energy is
completely different. When you see the press conferences after the game,

(01:50):
the energy is completely different, The locker room is completely different.
The energy, the optimism, the positivity is all completely different.
This season, it looks fantastic and it translates to what
they're doing on the field. I'm going to go back
to something that we talked about earlier in the season.
We talked about during the off season, James Gladston and

(02:10):
Tony Bisselli said the goal for the season was to
get better every single game, and so far three and
one they have done that. They have got better every
single game.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
That's actually a really good point because that's all you
want to see really with your team win or losses.
You want to see progression because there's no point in
being amazing in the first game rubbish, you know. In
unique consistency, need consistence.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
So last week we talked about complimentary football and the
fact that it didn't happen like the defense really showed
up last week against the Texans. Fantastic, right, But this
week all three phases showed up. Yes, there were some
mistakes on offense, some mistakes on special teams, but all
in all, the Jaguars performed better than they did last week.

(02:54):
And that's what they're aiming for and that's what we
need to see.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah, I mean, shout out Travis utn Ju for just
basically saying, Hi, I'm one of the best running backs
in the league. Let me show you, you know, that
burst of speed. It's something that we didn't really see
last year from him for injuries, you know, or whatever.
But it shows that like he is back and in
that touchdown run as well, that little shimmy, that little duke,
you know exactly the double t of X as well,

(03:19):
it's like he's playing mad at It was a joy
to watch because that offensive line there. Look, I'll be frank,
it wasn't the perfect you know, blocking from the offensive line,
but the way that he just managed to smoothly get
through it and then he's got a couple players to
beat and he does so in such a manner. It's
so impressive to watch Travis tn Jr. By the way,

(03:41):
saying I am the number one running back, don't you
worry about that? Nineteen carries, nineteen carries in that Gamela again,
hundred and twenty four, one hundred and twenty four rushing
yards in that game. And we'll speak about Devin Lloyd
as well.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Talk about the blocking. Sorry, yeah, go on, can we
could just quickly manage and Brenton Strange that this man's
blocking is unbelievable. So many big players are happening because
of what Brenton Stranger is doing on the field. I
love the way they're using him.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Well, not only that, I mean we spoke about it
when he was on the show just a few weeks ago.
Didn't we the fact that, yeah, it's the blocking, but
he is He also caught the most balls for the
for the Jags as well, you know, in a decent
in a decent you know, white receiver corps as well.
But Brenton Strangers just making himself known. He's making himself
sort of indispensable. You would say, actually, in this this

(04:31):
JAG's offense, should we just quickly move on to Devin
Lloyd as well? Because I feel like it would be
dumb if we didn't mention him a little bit further,
because I don't quite understand what's going on with with
with Devin Lloyd. Two interceptions in this game. Two interceptions, Yeah,
I want more. Well, I mean, you know, we speak
about indispensable players on the offense, Devin Lloyd is quietly, quietly,

(04:56):
you know, becoming you know, one of the big defensive
players in the whole of the league.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I'm going to say what, it's fantastic to see because
four years ago when we drafted Devin Lloyd, same year
we drafted Trayvon Walker, we were all so excited at
the potential of what he could do and to be honest,
we haven't really seen that potential. But in these first
four games of this season, I don't know what's changed,
but he seems to be playing completely differently. He looks different,

(05:26):
he sounds different, and he's every he's everywhere.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Yeah, three interceptions by the way so far this season. Enough,
come on, dev h come on, devon more? I mean incredible?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Are we number one in the league in takeaways?

Speaker 1 (05:44):
I mean again, this goes back to the stat that
we said last week, didn't we that they've already surpassed
how many you know, takeaways they had in the whole
of last season, and then just further on, further on
they really they really proved.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
It took us many sacks, but way more pressure, way
more pressure.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Which is an underrated step by its self. Pressure, I think,
especially if you're new to this game. You see the sex.
It's and it's a really obvious thing, isn't it when
you see the sex. But pressures are incredibly important making
sure that other quarterback is not on the front foot,
essentially having to make decisions incredibly fast. Let's just quickly
touch upon. So it wasn't all incredibly positive. I just
want to a couple of things penalties. I'm sure this

(06:19):
is going to be something that is going to be
spoken about. Yeah, it's spoken about in the locker room.
Is that penalties that it needs to be tightened up?
It needs to be Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
They'll get I'm not I'm not worried about this.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Jay.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
It's week five coming up, so I've been thinking about
this and I was looking at some stats and it's
very common that in the first five weeks you see
way more penalties. For this is for all NFL teams.
You see way more penalties than you do in the
last part of the season. And I think it's just

(06:56):
to do with rhythm, so it will be.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Okay, and injuries as well, Key sure, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So it's the Army Brown, Trayvon Trayvon Walker went off.
He was seen in a sling. Wasn't he wrist?

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yeah? Rist?

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah, So it was a risk injury seeing as.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Far as I know seeing a specialist. Definitely not season ending,
so sounding positive, not sure on when he's going to return.
The Army Brown, I think is currently just listed us out.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Okay, we'll just quickly touch upon because we've got Jason
Bell coming on in a second. We're going to speak
a bit more about the Kansas City Chiefs game on
Monday Night Football. Monday Night Football. By the way, about.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Monday Night football, I get nervous about Monday Night Football,
but in general, no JAG's playing on Monday Night football.
That Bengals get him in twenty three. Man, it was
so it was so big and it changed so much.
I get nervous about it.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs, who have
had a maybe disappointing first three games of the season,
but sort of turned it on really against the Baltimore
Ravens as well, and their offensive lineup seems to be
a lot healthier than it was. This is going to
be an interesting game. I'm going to put out there though,
and say this isn't This is a beatable Kansas City

(08:13):
Chiefs team.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
If we can play against the forty nine ers the
way we did and beat them convincingly, honestly, I think
we currently we can go up against anyone.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
And also, I do feel like the Jags have gone
slightly under the radar nationally until Sunday, maybe up until Sunday,
but win against the Kansas City Chiefs, I think that
we're looking at headlines. We're looking at real focus on
Duval County. I think, you know, in the in the NFL,

(08:44):
and rightly.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
So, I think it's already started to happen. I'm seeing
a lot more people talking about Jacksonville after Sunday's win.
And if again, if it happens on Monday night football
with more people watching, I think, yeah, absolutely, and it's.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Justified absolutely Monday night football as well. Do you think
that there's a do you think that there's a pressure
on it being a Monday night football game because there
is more eyes.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
So from what I've heard, it depends on the player.
Some players absolutely revel in it, don't they, and others
others feel the pressure a little bit more. I think
that all depends on who you're talking to. Man, I
feel the pressure more.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Yeah, you feel the pressure more as well. Okay, all right,
we'll speak a little bit more about the game against
the Kansas City Chiefs in a moment. Let's introduce Jason Bell.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
NFL pundit and Jacksonville Jagg. You was an International Fan
of the Year twenty twenty seven. Jason, Well, is it
with us? Jason, You've just got back from Dublin Steelers Vikings.
Talk to us about that. Man, how was it?

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Man? It was tantalizing. It gave us everything we needed.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
It was one of those kind of I would say,
events that you've never forgetten Why It's because the fans.
The fans said they have to rocket, they have to
make it unique, it has to be special, because you
got to force the NFL to come back, and that's
exactly what they're going to do because of this.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
So I was locked in. I loved it. It was
an amazing overall experience.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Talk about the atmosphere, man, because it just looked like
a It looked like almost like a Minnie super Bowl
in a way in the respect that like, it just
felt like the NFL took over Dublin.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
It did take over Dublin. It took over the streets,
it took over the game. It was loud, it was friendly.
That's the most thing.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
You know, when people traveling, they want to feel like
they're accepted, like they can tap in. And everywhere you
went it was welcoming.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
And that was the key.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
I mean, not only did we the NFL deliver on
the field, but it was the fan base off the
field that delivered. And I'm telling you this is what
makes this so special because there's nothing like this in
the US except the super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Nothing. You have a week long event.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
It's unique to where you are, the location, just like
whatever city you're in in the super Bowl, and it's special.
And because of that, people talk about having a super
Bowl internationally, but in reality, you have a super Bowl
for regular season games throughout the season. And that's what
the NFL wanted and that's what delivered.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Well a vibe though as well. I mean, like the
one thing I would say is and how much Guinness
do you think was drown?

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Man?

Speaker 4 (11:21):
That's all people were talking about. Man, even after the
coaches players.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
You know, Aaron Rochs was like, oh yeah, I just
went out for a few guinnesses.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
You know.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
You know, Aaron can say whatever he wants. You know,
like you gotta know your pecking order on the roster,
you know what I'm saying. You can't say that unless
you're Aaron Rodgers. It's like he can say anything he wants.
That guy's a super vet. But i'd imagine you know,
it's it's about the shared experience and the culture, especially
around Guinness is real. It's true and everybody had to

(11:50):
tap in and get that photo.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Man.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
You know, it's all about the It's all about the
Graham these days.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Ground One thing I wanted to say that Steig, I
mean you touched upon it that when you said that,
you know, making sure that the NFL has to go
back to Dublin. I mean Commissioner Roger Goodell basically did.
He confirmed for all intention and purposes of the NFL
will be back, which I think is really exciting. You know,
what do you think when do you think if you
had any hints, have you got any inside knowledge of

(12:15):
when you think that an NFL game will return to Dublin?

Speaker 3 (12:18):
No clue, But if rg if Rogers says it, it's
happening now.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
That stadium was packed, huge stadiums, so you know, the
ticket sales had to be good, and that's important. I
hope next year, man, if it's on the calendar, why
not redo the same date run it back. I think
they start playing it now. They've got to figure it out,
so why not. I hope it's announced pretty soon that
they're headed back there same time next year.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Just like the Jaguars have been a huge part of
the international expansion, and you have been as well. You've
been a huge voice in that. What's it been like
for you to see it all growing over the past
ten to fifteen years.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
Lucky?

Speaker 4 (12:55):
You know, there's nothing about what I'm doing now that
is from any of my hard work. This is pure luck,
and it is because of Jacksonville and their commitment. Right
if they weren't so committed, would I be here doing this. No,
I'm very lucky because this is where the wave was headed,

(13:16):
the momentum was swinging, and I just happened to be here,
luckily enough. If people know the story, my buddy Osie,
he retired, he comes over as the ambassador.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
I'm just here.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
We fall into this, so it's pure luck. I tell
people you never know what's going to happen. Just be
ready for the moment, because that's exactly what happened to me.
And I am loving every minute of this moment. I
couldn't imagine doing this anywhere else.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Oh that's nice, man, that is really nice to hear.
Sixteen Games, sixteen International Games, Roger Goodell says, is the aim.
I mean he's sort of flirted with that idea before,
but I don't know if he's verbatim actually said that
you know he wants every team to have an international game.
I don't know if that's you can't imagine that happening.
Maybe in the next few years, but maybe with the

(14:00):
next collective boggain agreement with the players, it will get
brought up. What's that like to hear? Because it's a
fans perspective I took from respect from me and Key
as well. It's kind of modern blood in a way.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
Yeah, So from a fans perspective, love it. We obviously
love it. When I go as a player, I'm thinking, hmmm, okay, well,
I know the NFL wants this extra game to go international,
so that's our bargainingship.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
So that has to get handled, let's be honest. And
once that's handled, they can move on. But once they
get that extra game, everything is going international, and that
is the key.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
And how likely do you think that'll happen? And when
do you think that'll happen.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
It's gonna happen one hundred percent if you ask me,
because this is the only place to go when you're
talking about the growth of the game. It's global. Players
know that, owners know that, everybody. We have to come
together get the agreement done and push forward. That is
the final frontier of my friends, and we are on it.
We got the first class seat on this plane, so

(14:55):
you're welcome. Okay, look at us, all right, we are rolling.
This is where it's headed and it will So this
is great, I mean, and it's because of the fans.
I say it all the time, and I mean it.
It's the fans.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
If the fans didn't make this game so special and
unique in each city, the NFL would and go there.
You've got to give them the credit.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
It's because of us, key, it's because of us. Yeah,
there you go.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
You better take it when you can own it.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
And I also just want to touch upon the Jags
as well, because I mean you said that they've already
been at the forefront of it, and it's completely true.
You know, Jacksonville JANKI is the only team that regularly
come over every single year to London. I don't think
it can really be underestimated as well.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Well, let's not forget Jay the presence in Dublin as well,
doing a huge amount of glass roots stuff, taking our
players over there on our tours as well. So we're
a huge part of that game. Being in Dublin as well.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Yeah, yeah, it's incredible really and you're right, you know,
without the Jags persistent support, you know, who knows where
we'd be at.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
I mean, you're talking to a guy who is a
former Houston Texans Texan and I'm rooting for the Jags.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
And there's a reason. It's because of that. It's because
of that commitment. I see it.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
Financially right, this is you got to sign the checks
dot con and you do and that means a lot
because the presence Jacksonville has had internationally has forced other
teams to step it up.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
And that's key. That's unique, that's special, and you know,
to have.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
The vision to do that is impeccable and I appreciate
it because that's why we're here.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
And you're right about the game in Dublin.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
I mean I was over in Ireland doing youth flag
football events with the Jags, so you know, Jag tags.
So absolutely that awareness has come from Jacksonville in this commitment.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
All right, Jason, let's do this talking about how we
beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football in
a moment, but first Week three against the fourteen nine,
ER's got the w how was the game won?

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Oh? Man? I love I love the game of football,
you fellas know that, and I love when you win
with takeaways.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
But you got to capitalize on them. And that's exactly
the formula that took place. I mean, this defense got
four turnovers. This is ridiculous. You can't throw over the
middle on this defense. They will clog it all of
You don't want them to be in control of your
pipes at home because you will not have any running
water because it'll all be flogged up. The way this
defense plays, and that's exactly what they do. All the

(17:31):
takeaways and then they can control the clock with the
running game etn.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
The way he's playing like this is a formula for success.
Think about it.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
You take the ball away, you score off of it,
and you control the clock. That is how they won
this game. And that is beautiful football.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
All right?

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Well, who is the MVP? Do you think? I think
there's a few different people you can choose from for this?
Who is the Jags MVP? Man? You know?

Speaker 4 (17:54):
I mean, am I gonna just tell on myself being
a defensive guy? I mean, is that how I roll?
Because Devin Lloyd, I mean, he's just a machine. Lloyd's
a machine. Eight tackles, two interceptions, tackle for loss. He
was everywhere, and that's the key. If you take away
the ball and the team is able to capitalize the
off of that, it is key. But I gotta give
some love to a playmaker that's special because he's on

(18:18):
special teams, and you know special teams is for special players.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Parker Washington, my man finds a way to get loose.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
I mean, he is a weapon.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
He is a true weapon because now you can dominate
the kicking game because of his ability. You see what's
happening in the kicks around the league. So when you
got a guy like that can break the game wide open,
there you go. So I'm gonna have to give love
to those two players this week.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Did that remind you of the game at Wembley Stadium
last year? You know that with that return, I mean
Parker Washington, it just makes you hype for the game
against the Rams in just a few weeks time. As well.

Speaker 4 (18:59):
You make one mistake against him when you're covering a kick,
it's bye bye.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
It is bye bye. He makes you pay and that's
why he's so valuable.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
I don't know if there's anything more exciting than like
a partner or a kick return, Like it's just one
of the best plays in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
Without a doubt, and it's you know, the game is
about field position. The biggest flips in field position are
in the kicking game undeniable.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
This is why it matters.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
Even when I played, I remember the coaches bringing me
in and saying, you are considered a starter. You might
play nickel and dime on defense, but what you do
in the kicking game is this important to us because
of field position. Because they used to take me out
sometime on third down and I was like, what are
you guys doing. They were like, this is a big kick.
You know, this is a big punt. We need you
rested now.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
I didn't know if they were using that as an
excuse because I couldn't cover well, but it made me
feel good. It made me feel good, and I went
down there and I covered the kick.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
But it's vastly important, and that's why each week these
games changed the outcome of winning or lose.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
What was the key moment of the turning point that
we might have missed, Well, we.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
Got to talk about the man who's the MVP of
the game. I mean at the you know, that's what
happens when you when you make the plays of the game.
You got to be the man and the turning point.
And it was David Lloyd's second pick. But what it
was was I mean Devin Lloyd's second pick. But Mason
Smith tipped the ball. And when I'm looking at defense,
right and you're looking at interceptions and key turning points,

(20:24):
it's usually a multitude of factors, whether it was pressure
or a tip ball or something that caused the turnover,
running to the ball, getting us a fumble. And that's
what you want to see. You want to see that
opportunistic style of play from your defense. And that's exactly
what that was. And that's key.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
This is their identity, this is who they are, and
this is how they will continue to win in the future.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Oh, let's move on to week five. How do the
Jags beat the Chiefs?

Speaker 3 (20:52):
All right?

Speaker 4 (20:52):
This is going to be interesting, right because the Chiefs
are starting to get healthy now. So first thing you're
gonna have to do. What's your identity. You gotta win
the turnover margin, you gotta win the turnover battle. You
have to be able to run the ball. Why those
two things. You steal a possession and you slow down
the game.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
What do I mean by that? You keep that man,
Patrick Mahomes off the field. That is the key.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
If you're able to get takeaways and run the ball,
that is clutch. And defensively, man, make them earn every chunk,
make them drive the entire field, don't give up big explosives,
and hopefully you force them into a mistake. Basic football,
This old line. These tight ends, man, the tight ends
of Jacksonville. I mean, who are these guys. They are

(21:38):
flat out balling. They are putting hands on people and
they are blessing them like they are baptizing people. They're saying,
bless you, son, bless you. And they are putting people
down underwater and bringing them back out. That's the way
they are blocking. And when you have great tight ends,
this is significant.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Hear me out.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
When you got good tight ends, you can run the
ball because you have an extra person on the line
of scrimmage, creating an extra gap. And that's exactly what
they're doing. Shout out head coach Liam Cohen calling people out.
I'm loving this team, man, all.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Right, and it's gonna be Monday night football. Of course,
talk to me about the added pressure of playing Monday
night football.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
All right, this this, this is it's serious, It's it's real.
You gotta lean on your identity. Who are you?

Speaker 4 (22:19):
Your leaders got to step up, make sure everybody's calm.
But this is where we show who and what we are.
Let's take our same formula, put it on a big stage.
Practice how you play.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
This is who you are.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
Nothing changes. So you lean on your leadership. But you
gotta go out there and it is. It is tense, man,
you got a lot of eyeballs on you, but hey,
this is who you are, this is what you are.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
It's another game. That's how you gotta think about it.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
This is a real game where it's gonna you're gonna
find out a lot about both both teams.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
I think in this game, Yeah, I have a feeling
Brian Thomas Junior is gonna have an explosive man.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
I feel like the lights are on. I just feel
like he's gonna do somethinghere. You're gonna go like, yeah,
there he is.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
That's that's what you need. And do you know what
I love? I would love a big Travis Hunter game
as well, because we've seen glimpses from him in a
great I mean you you brought it up a little
bit earlier. I think he as well, Travis Hunter with
that catch over the middle. It started on what the
Jags like four yard line or something stupid like that.
It was like a twenty five yard catch something similar.

(23:23):
You know, I'd love for both these receivers to go off.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Yeah, they can't be you know, be patient with them.
It's a new it's a new offense, just finding a
rhythm and especially patient. It's a rookie. You got a
rookie man in there. And that being said, when you
can run the ball and people have to start selling
out for that, that's when the explosives come because you
got to play man the man and that's when you

(23:48):
can win on the outside or in the inside on slot.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Well, you know what, it's a it's a good news
and the Jags running game has been pretty explosive so
far this year.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
Etn looking like he got fresh legs. Boy, I'm telling you,
he is looking nicety, nicety.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
And do you know what actually uh and I actually
genuinely think this is really important in the long scheme,
in the long term scheme of a team in terms
of h fan mentality, fan support, fin enthusiasm, and it's
this team is fun. And what a difference, What a

(24:25):
difference that genuinely makes to a fan base.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
This game is about entertainment, without a doubt. When you
when you're watching it on television or in the stands,
you want to be entertained. They're a head coaches and
play calls that call plays just for the fans. We
got to keep the fans in the game.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
It is real.

Speaker 4 (24:41):
I've heard college coaches say it before, you know, like,
this is for the fans. So that is exactly right. Uh,
Players and plays motivates you. So that's exactly why you
love and watch the explosive playmakers and hope that they
come through for your team each week.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
This team is now fun and people talking about them.
And for me, that started with Liam Cohen coming in
and doing that duval the way he did it, and
I think he's an absolute genius. I think he knew
exactly what he was doing. And then James Gladstone trading
the pick for Travis Hunter. They know exactly what they're doing.
They're getting people talking about the Jaguars, and the Jaguars

(25:18):
are a fun team now and.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
He knew what he was doing this week calling out
a coach. That's all that's on point. You got them.
You find a way to motivate, however, and you lean
into it. Especially you want your guys to rally behind you, like,
oh we're in a fight. Oh yeah, yeah, we got
your back. Oh you want to you want to call
out the coach, Yeah, we'll show it for you. That
is real. Each week, the head coach's job is to

(25:41):
find the pathway to victory. However.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
You gotta do it, and sometimes you got to motivate
in weird, strange ways. But you know your team and
you know what you gotta do. And he has shown
he is a CEO who can get his team up
for the quarterly dividend call.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
He's like, hey, you gotta get this man. Let's his time,
and he's coming through all right.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Last week we all went for a Jags wins. Well
on Tomas. Jason nearly got it spot on as well,
because you went twenty four to twenty one j Bell
and it was twenty six twenty one. I mean that's good.
We've got to give it to your bonus point for
the closest Jason.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
You're not going to be right, You're just going to
be lucky.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Jason's got five points. I've got five points.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
On what is this bonus point for being close? Because
the week before I was close, I didn't get a
bonus point.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
I'm not in charge of this. I'm not in charge
of this. Produced assignment's in charge of it. I've got
Jason's got five points, I've got five points. You've got
like minus seven points. I don't. I don't quite know.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
By the way, do you remember what my outrage and
what my hotake was. My hettake was a missed two
point conversion? And how close were they missing that two
point conversion? Literally just about breaker plane? Almost a genius.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
You've got three points this week? Cheez Monday Night football
at home, one fifteen in the morning, UK times, obviously
early hours of Tuesday morning. J Bell prediction.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
Please let me go with this. I'm going I'm going
twenty eight twenty four Jags.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Well big, that's big, that's big, key, twenty three seventeen Jags. Okay,
Brian's must junior one hundred plus game.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
I'll take that, and I'm going to go twenty. I'm
going to change Bacs. It's too close to yours now, Key,
and it feels like I'm copping, let's go with twenty
one twenty, Jacks, let's go. I mean, let's go with
twenty one twenty. I think that the Chiefs played a
decimated Baltimore Ravens defense in that last game, so we

(27:59):
can say they looked much better, and they did, but
we've got to remember that this was not a Raven's
defense that they that we assume that a Raven's defense
is usually and I think that the way that the
Jags have been playing, they're going to feel it, and
they're going to feel that step up.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Where does Patrick Mahomes like to throw the ball over
the middle of the field, Fellas exactly.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
I don't think it's going to be the pressure that
our defensive line have been bringing this season.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Unbelievable, man, I mean, it's it's unreal. Yeah, Onion, all right?

Speaker 1 (28:31):
The battle for the mini Trevor figurine, which we look
good in all of our memorabilia shells, and I can
I can see it looking good behind your shoulder.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
J Bell.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
I'm just I just got a feeling you're not gonna
get it. All right, J Bell will speak to you
next week.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Do you know what, Jay, I'm so glad that j
Bell mentioned Parker Washington because we spoke to him in
the off season in training camp, and we listened to
the way that he explains what's going through his mind
when the ball is coming towards him and when he
was When I saw that, I knew he was going
to score on that play on Sunday night, I knew

(29:10):
it was. So that's going to be a fantastic piece.
It will be going up on the Jaguars UK YouTube
later this season towards towards game week, so that's going
to be an excellent piece to look forward to. It.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Get subscribing on the YouTube now then, so then you
don't need to worry about go and have a look
at it in a couple of weeks time whatever, so
it will just pop up in your feed. All right,
Let's get onto Duval Dispatches. Regular listeners and anyone who
follows the Jaguars activities in the UK will be aware
of jag Tag, the Jaguars Flag Football initiative that promotes
the sports in the schools. We had Andy Scott, who

(29:40):
leads the program presented by AO on the podcast last
season didn't we key well former job Yeah. Former jag
tag player Jokobed Frompong was selected to play for GB
at the Senior European Championships last weekend in Paris. Key member,
key member, key of the very good of the defensive unit. Now.

(30:02):
GB started slowly, yeah, intermitted, but gained momentum and then
went all the way to the final to face the
favorite Austria and they won.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Key.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
The levels of drama in this thing were unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
J what a great story. Yeah, well exactly because GB
came back from being two scores down at halftime to
lead twenty seven to twenty seven was the final score,
but GB scored on their overtime possession got the extra point.
This is crazy. Austria's scored on their overtime possession and
went for two for the game.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
So this was the mythed two point conversion that I
was talking about.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
Yeah, whatever, whatever. The entire tournament with nineteen teams all
came down to one play, which is I mean, talk
about drama.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Yeah, you talk about that is sport at its best.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Quite genuinely, can you even think of this is the
equivalent of like a penalty kick isn't it in the
last minute to win or lose.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
This is or the famous nineteen eighty five snooker final
where it comes down.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Anyway anyway, yeah, anyway, yeah, yeah, anyway, GB made the
stop to win. So I mean, that's incredible, incredible. Jocobed
frimpunk from jag tag to European gold medalist and with
flag football in the Olympics in three years time, it's
exciting time for her and the rest of the back

(31:29):
to back euro champion GB squad.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
But not only that, Jay, she's also one of the
recipients of the grid Iroon Grants, which is a university
scholarship which is funded by the Jaguars UK and LGT
Wealth Management US. I mean, what a story.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
It's unbelievable together, so beautifully unbelievable, and I just sometimes think, like,
you know, when you have these moments, I mean we don't,
we don't have these sporting moments, but like when you
have these incredible things, I just wonder, like if you know,
if you just get to sit down after and be
like I can't believe, I can't believe this has just happened.

(32:05):
So it's incredible and congratulations congratuations, but congratulations for the
whole you know, team GB as well, because that's as
unbelievable that unbelievable stuff. Also unprecedented demand, by the way
he spoke about this over the last couple of weeks
and a week, unprecedented demand for access to open practice
for the Jags, over two and a half thousand submissions.

(32:25):
So good luck. If you vented, you will find out
at the end of this week if you're a lucky winner.
So much is going on, of course, over the next
few weeks in London, as the Jacksonville Jaguars head back
to Wembley Stadium to play the Los Angeles Rams from
October thirteenth, we're going to be taking over Greenwood Sports
Bar and Victoria in London. We're going to be turning

(32:45):
it Teal. You can say, all right, you're ready, key,
you can save the delight delight of a Jags head burger.
What is that? I'm not quite sure. I'm not quite
sure if I'm missing the pub along with some duval
dirty fry. I'm a fan. That sounds sounds good that
you can sip some cocktails, including jagger Bomb.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
No, No, I'm out, I'm done. Yeah, jaggarretas gripped in
front of me.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
It's jaggarretas no.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
One.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
I'm going to enjoy it, do you know what?

Speaker 2 (33:23):
I wasn't going to offer this, but I'm going to
have to spend all week thinking of some better options.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
I look forward to it. All designed, of course, to
bring a taste of Duval to London. Look, it sounds
like we're making fun. Are we going to enjoy it?
Are we going to Are we going to drink it?
Yes we are. We're going to have a good time.
We also have a lot of entertainment plan to make.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
The first one is embarrassing, ordering the second one is great.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
But you're so right. Do you know what though, is
that I'll be like, he can you to go to
the bar for me?

Speaker 3 (33:54):
Mate?

Speaker 1 (33:55):
Just you know it's gonna do you do? You might
just go to the bar for me. I got a
load of entertainment planned to the whole of the game week.
You know, aments really immense at the pub, including on
the Thursday from six to nine pm with the Roar
of the Jaguars and Jacksonville be making appearance and Jacksonsville
very own JP Shadwick friend of the show. I will

(34:19):
take to the mic to lead a trivia quiz to
test your knowledge of all things Jaguars past and present
and great giveaways, key great giveaways.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
I think we should enter into that, Jay.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
Uh yeah, but it'd be embarrassing if we came last.
Do you know what?

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Do you know what we should do? We should enter
into it. With Jamie Phillips on our team.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
It'll be fine International Fan of the Year, Jamie Phillips, Yeah,
we would. On the Saturday, that's the eighteenth, four to
seven pm Raw of the Jaggers who are going to
be visiting the pub, photos with fans and to have
some very very special guest alumni who'll be joining JP
Shadwick and Ryese Parkinson on stage for questions and you know,
all around Jaguars related entertainment. Also a lot of fun.

(35:00):
I'm going to mention as well. Obviously, if you are
a fan of the Jacksonville Jaggus, which I'm assuming you are,
we have a pop up retail store available on both
these days, and you'll be able to scan a QR
code on a Jaggs branded beer matt to be in
with a chance of winning a signed Jaguars jersey from
one of our top top stars and look, maybe maybe
you can just take a Jags branded being at home

(35:22):
with you and just have it on the kitchen tailor
your Jaga bombs on it. No, it's not a Jaga bomb.
It's a Jagger bomb.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
I can't say Jagar's so far from sounding like it should.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Make sure you head over to the Jags UK YouTube
as well for a conversation between our very own Reee
Parkinson and Trevon Walker heading into too the weekend.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
I'm going to say something on that Trayvon Walker interview.
One of the first questions that Reee Parkinson asks him
is about his back to back double figure SAX seasons, right,
and re says, so what you're expecting for this season?
And Trayvon goes like completely nonchalant. He just goes, well,
that's the ben them that's going to happen this season.
I was like, that's awesome, that's nice. That's nice. That's nice.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
All right, big few weeks, big few weeks, all right,
So we'll leave it there then, Key, we'll leave it there.
Amazing victory for the Jags against the forty nine ers,
and we look towards Monday Night football.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Key Yep, I cannot wait for it, a little bit nervous,
but actually I think we're looking really really good. Chiefs
aren't looking great. Yeah, I think I think there's huge
potential for this man.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
Yeah, I'm really excited. I mean, I'm gonna be honest,
I'm gonna wake up and watch it. I do that
thing where I don't I don't necessarily need to watch
it live, but I need to make sure I don't
know the score like I don't like I don't like
waking up and checking. I wake up, watch the game,
and then I and I feel the same emotions, do
you know what I mean? So I'm I'm I'm all

(36:46):
for that. I'm all for that. And if you wake up,
if you if you stay up for it, then I
think that is that is amazing, and that is immense
and I think it will be worth it as well.
Monday night.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
I have the big dog all weekend, but then I
have Monday night to myself, and I have said to
myself that I am going to try up and I'm
going to try and do it Monday night.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
But the thing is you will stay up for it, though,
because if you try like the nerves will just keep you,
the nerves and the excitement will just sort of keep
you awake for the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
I mean, it's either I'll make it all the way
to the end or I'll fall asleep within five minutes
of It's one of those two things.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
One of those two things, one of those two things.
All right, Key, we'll be back next week. We'll be
back with Jason Bell of course, will be breaking down
what went down on Monday Night football. This has been
Till Talk and association with Gallagher, a Shooting Shark production
for Jacksonville, Jaguars UK and Ireland. Go subscribe if you're
not subscribing on your podcast, and of course just search
