Speaker 1 (00:02):
All right, welcome to Teal Talk. I'm Jay Lawrence. A
bit of a different podcast this week.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
I spoke to.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Jason Bell about the game and Wembley, looking forward to
bye week as well. But first let's head over to
Wembley Stadium with two very friendly faces and myself breaking
down that game against the La Rams. Teal Talk presented
by Gallagher from Wembley Stadium. An empty Wembley Stadium, just
(00:31):
after the Jacksonville Jaguars face the La Rams. I'm Jay Lawrence,
still no relation, joined by Voice of the Jaguars JP Shadrick,
and we have got the face of the Jaguars over
here in the UK as well, Rhyese Parkinson. Guys, this
is this is a maybe a leading question.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
How are you well?
Speaker 3 (00:54):
I was I was told when I walked in today
on Olympic Way because I voiced it listening to myself
say there's no street drinking aloud outside of Olympic Way.
That's unfortunate because I could use one right about now
after a performance like this thirty five to seven. Nothing worked,
So I'm okay. This team's not okay right now though, rees.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Yeah, really well, obviously I feel the same and you
probably do as well.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Jay.
Speaker 5 (01:22):
I just feel I think the feelings gutted. I was
so excited.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
This is one of my best days of the year
coming here, especially when we have two. I know this
year is one, but just gutted. So I feel just down.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
I wouldn't say I.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
Feel worried or anything yet, but yeah, just a really
like disheartening feeling of this is meant to be the
game that the UK fans come together and go, you know,
Jags a here at least make it tight. And it
just felt like after the first quarter, You're like, oh,
are we done?
Speaker 6 (01:54):
Yeah, I mean there was a lot today.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
They talked all week about responding and getting out of
their own way and not making these big mistakes and
no penalties and you let's clean it up. You know,
our biggest issue is us. You know, we're the team
that's beating us right now. Well, it was even worse
today than before. Thirteen penalties, a season high one hundred
and nineteen yards, misfireus from the quarterback. It's more of
(02:19):
the same and it cost them in a big way
against a veteran team that knows how to win games
and put teams away with the Hall of fame quarterback
and a Hall of Fame receiver, and they threw it
to ten different guys without their best receiver on the field. Today,
they find a way. So this was when they ran
into a bus saw today. Because the Rams are going
to be there and they're Super Bowl contender, there's no
doubt in my mind.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Well, I think that was part of the anticipation as
the game though. I think, especially coming from you know,
a UK fan, is that it was the Jags versus
the Rams.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Knew that the Rams were a good team.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
You know, some of the games in London over the
past few weeks have not necessarily been that exciting, and
it felt like, Okay, this can be this could be
a game. Not only is it going to feel like
Christmas anyway because the Jags are in town, but this
could actually be a game. And it and again it
felt like it was the Jags just couldn't get out
of first gear. And that's because they kept stalling, you know.
(03:13):
And it wasn't even necessarily you know, it wasn't the
Rose follow. It was on the other driver's fault. It
was their own fault. It was the car's fault. And
let's just start from the beginning there, because it didn't
start well for the Jags whatsoever, going down fourteen ZHO.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
But then it did look at.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Some point like there could it could get back into
life reach, didn't it? Because we saw last year. You
remember watching Parker Washington with that return with that touchdown
in the win against the Patriots here at Wembley Stadium,
and it looked like we might have that again.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Yeah, it did, and that moment was just so magic
and it's like, ah, happened twice. And then you see
the flag and then you're like, ah, please tell me
it's the defensive flag, and then it's us and it
was just just kick the window of us. And then
you know what's really hard to kind of talk about
is and I was hoping he'd have that opportunity, which
(04:10):
he did fairly early, but cam Little just being able
to put that one away on the field goal, and
I don't know what that feelings like. JP probably been
around field goal kickers obviously way longer than I have,
but it just it kind of feels that when you're
in your own head, you're in your head all these
makeable and when you kind of miss that, then it's
like WHOA now it's still zero, Like, we haven't even
(04:33):
got points up at that point.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
So yeah, yeah, I mean, and now it's his fourth
miss of the season, which is tied for the second
most of the NFL with the Rams kicker by the way,
so that that is now officially an issue for the
Jaguars of what's going on with Cam Little. It would
have made it fourteen to three. Okay, then you're down
eleven and you're kind of playing remember against the Chiefs
Monday night football.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
It might be too late for you guys over here.
It was a little earlier in the morning.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
I'm only going off the highlight.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
So the Chiefs fourteen nothing in that game, and the
Jaguars had the immediate drive after that where they went
down the field Trevor Lawrence decided to use his legs
a little bit and kept the drive alive and they
went on a thirteen play touchdown drive to score and
made it a point. Okay, we're not gonna let the
Chiefs get that far ahead of us. They just didn't
(05:21):
have that juice today at all. I mean they had
they had no They moved the ball on a ten
play drive but had to punt missed the field goal.
Ten play drive, turnover on downs twice actually three times
in a row. They turned it over and down. So
they just didn't have that spark today when they really
needed it, and the Rams got away from him with
three touchdowns in their first four possessions.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Do you both think there's an effect from the Chiefs game,
which is you kind of make one of those historic knives.
Maybe I'm over say historic knights. You beat the Chiefs,
and then the adrenaline you're on such a high that
you come crush down. I know you kind of get
that sometimes the game after. But am I giving them
(06:05):
an excuse here that that carries on for two games
after they're still on that high, or.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
You're giving them a reason.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
But I don't think it's an excuse, you know, And
in fact, I I wouldn't even necessarily count it as
a reason at the end of the day. Like a
good victory against the Kansas City City Chiefs, there's no
doubt about this, But it is the NFL. These are
things that you should really these aren't. These aren't They
shouldn't be surprised wins. These should just be if you're
a good team, these should just be wins.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
And against the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Last week, it's okay, all right, you know, lose by
eight points and you can make a couple of excuses
lots of penalties there as well. Then you're going into
this game, it's slightly different. Let's just go on to
penalties actually because I mean you touched upon it a
little bit earlier. But you know, coach Cohen said last
week after the loss against the Seahawks, he was in
the locker room and he said, you know, we're defeating
ourselves before we even get the chance to even you know,
(06:51):
go out there and play. Last week it was ten penalties.
That's that's a lot of penalties. This week thirteen penalties.
There were times here where it looked like the Jags
could get back into the game, or at least get
back into the conversation, but penalties just killed it entirely.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
JP And I mean what McCarey had four the right
guard and one of them was declined. I mean that
that is a tough day at the office for any
offensive linement, especially a veteran like hem who's been in
the league for seven or eight years. I mean that
a false start late after a couple already, and then
I mean that just kind of tells you the way
it was going today. And then two on one play
(07:33):
on Jordan Lewis the PI and the face mask and
they had to enforce both penalties, so they went from
ten to twelve on one play. That kind of sums
up the day in the penalty world. And yeah, now
I get the aggressive penalties at times, like the PI
that happens you're playing.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Going for the ball.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Things happened like that, but the false starts, the pre
snap things.
Speaker 6 (07:53):
They had a couple on third down on offense.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Where they're backing up, so you're gonna make it even
harder on yourself against so really good pass rushing team
already they don't need more help on third down, and
now it's like, okay, third and nine, whatever, goes to
third and fourteen and here come You're at Verse in
company with a pass rush and they got to him
seven times today.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
It can I also I'll add that it does.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
I don't state the obvious, but it feels like Trevor
is missing passing to.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
Strange and oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
There's like, yeah, there's something like he kind of after
BTJ and a lot of the drops kind of felt
like Strange was his safety blanket for a point there,
it has that feeling where it's like there's just not
the threats on offense for Trevor. I'm not giving Trevor
kind of a pass, but it just feels like he's
(08:44):
missing that guy. And maybe Stranger is a bit Yeah,
maybe he's a bit more of a bigger loss than
he knew he was a loss. But maybe he's a
bigger loss than we initially fall And yeah, my opinion.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
And this is a guy of course as well, who
is not only a pass catching tight end, but he's
somebody that plays on the offensive line and maybe that's
you know, that's something that we've seen over the last
couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
They were on the ball without him in here so
really efficiently. I mean today it was a bunch of
garbage numbers late, but like that, that was a big
piece of his game, right, you.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Know what, just just just looking big picture here.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
It is you know, it's it's an amazing spectacle every
single time the NFL comes to London. It's amazing when
the Jags come to London. But you really want to
have a competitive game. You want the Jangs to show
up for the Jags fans who don't get to see
them week in, you know, week out in Jacksonville, and
last year we definitely saw that. I guess that is
the beauty to an extent of the fact that the
(09:41):
Jacks come here so regularly, is that this isn't the
only time that you might have the opportunity to come
and see see the Jags. But there'll be a lot
of Jags fans leaving today being like which we saw,
which we saw something else where where did the team
go from here?
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Then? JP?
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Obviously it's the the buy next week. Is there anything
that they are going to be focusing on apart from
you know, trying to get rid of as many pre
snap penalties as possible.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
I mean, I think they're going to go back home
and they're going to go in the meeting room the
next day or two and try to figure out anything
else they can do to overcome some of these issues.
And I'm sure he's going to probably run back the
same meeting that he had at the Grove this week about.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
You know, we're our own game wreckers.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Something's got to be added to it because they just
did it even worse this time around. And then offensively,
I mean let's check the status of Brian Thomas Junior.
Remember he walked off the field he wasn't holding his
right arm. Tim Patrick was hurt and didn't come back
in the game. Ride receiver Diami Brown's been battling all
season with some health issues. I mean, they've got some
real concerns now, and you know where are they going
(10:51):
to actually turn offensively? If maybe Travis Hunter is that guy,
because he did put together some things in this game,
went over one hundred for the first time in his career,
found the end zone. That's a bright spot and maybe
that's something you can build around offensively. But they they
want to be a physical running team and they aren't
able to do that right now because every team in
(11:11):
the league that they face is going to put this
blueprint up of you know what, stuff to run and
make sixteen throw it to beat us, and he has
not proven that he's consistent enough down the field to
throw it and beat other teams no matter who the
receiver is.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
Yeah, I do.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
I'm thinking I was just looking the four and three
now deep more traits.
Speaker 6 (11:34):
Well maybe because they're a winning team. Four and three.
It's the bye week.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
There's a lot of football left sound like the Colts
are going to run away with a division.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
They're playing well, but it's early. We'll see.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
I wouldn't be surprised, especially if some of these injuries
start mounting up, like if Trayvon Walkers still doesn't have
the club off after the buye. You know, if that's
going longer than they thought, maybe they try to get
some pass rush. They couldn't get to Stafford today, I
mean consistently, so that's something they could improve. And let's
check on the receivers too, so you know what's coming out.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
Of that with all these injuries. Yeah, I wouldn't.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
James Gladstone's not scared to pull the trigger. They have
a bunch of picks next year to deal if they
really need to deal something, so stand by.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
I guess yeah, Because I'm looking at I go next game, Raiders,
I think winnable, sure road game, road game, Texans winnable
road game. Then Chargers, okay, then good.
Speaker 6 (12:33):
Team though Chargers in Jacksonville, but it's a good team.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
And then you've got the Cardinals winnable, Titans winnable. So
if you're if you are James, you look at that
and go like, we've got all these winnable games coming up,
and we know that after seeing it today in last week,
he's probably analyzing some of the weak spots here. I
wouldn't be surprised to wake up tomorrow morning and see
(12:56):
some whoa Because that Tyson Campbell went through me. I
was like, I mean, maybe you didn't have the best
start to the year, I think, and the Chiefs game
looked a little wobbly, but I wouldn't be surprised to
see some bold moves because I think, like you said, JP,
James pulls the trigger.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
You know, who's that scared to No, he's not scared
or you've seen it already. It's not as if he's
been a general manager for very long, is it, JP?
And we've seen what he's done already. You know, there's
a man called Travis Hunter that's on the field at
the very least, you know, and that is actually it's
a good point. And if you're going to see it,
you'll see it within the next week or so, won't you.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
Yeah, you know that's what I think. I think, like
he's on the plane home tonight. I don't know. I
do make up things.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
I absolutely nothing, obviously, But I'm just you know, just
scanning today, I look at the four and three, the
game is coming up, and you go, if we're going
to push for it now, we need to make some
bold moves now because we got it.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
Like a lot of the names are just called out there.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
They're winnable, even I know the Chargers, maybe that's separate.
They they look really good, but you know who did
the well, maybe not the Chiefs and not looking great
this year, but still after you look at it and go,
we can make a push, we can get into the playoffs.
First year for James and Tony Passelli in the playoffs,
you'd look back and go, good for a successful year.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
And I you know, this is around the time, like
week seven and then the trade deadline I think is
November fourth, so it's like three weeks.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Out or something.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
So after this round of games this weekend, that's when
you really start seeing who's going to be a contender
and who's kind of out of it, and then maybe
you see who's really available. So I could see more
deals getting done in the next two weeks, because it
just you have a better idea around the league if
you're really going to push or not, or are we
(14:41):
long term looking to the future as a team like
not the Jags, but another team that's out of it. Hey,
let's you know what, let's just fold it in now
and get some some picks for the future so that
it's all in play.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
I think of the next week or two.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Yeah, because at the end of the day, if in
four weeks time or full fixtures time, at the very least,
as you say, let's say three of them are distinctly
winnable and three wins there, you're looking at a good charge.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
To the end of the season, aren't you.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
All right, I just want to touch on something we've
already spoken about, but the significance of it before we
wrap up the podcast, and that is, Yes, it was
Travis Hunter's first touchdown for the Jacksonville Jagers today. That's great,
A lot of eyes on Travis Hunter forever. The first
touchdown the Travis Hunter will be at Wembley Stadium.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
It was not in Florida.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
The Floridian who got drafted by a Floridan team got
his first touchdown at Wembley Stadium. And then you've got
to remember as well that Trevor Lawrence got his first
win ever in the UK too, So I mean this
is really, this is really.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
Dolphins A weird slider player in the field goal.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Yeah, yeah, that's right.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
And you know, this is really proving to be a
place that not only has good memory for the team,
but hopefully it's going to have good memories for these
individual players as well. Because Travis Hunter, let's hope he
has a really successful career, but we'll always look back
at Wembley Stadium as his first ever touchdown. That be
(16:14):
that will always be the thing that gets brought up. Hey,
when was your first touchdown? Travis?
Speaker 4 (16:18):
Good trivia that. Yeah, I feel like he's is a
really special moment. What was really interesting as well is
the reception that he got. I thought was interesting. You know,
when all the players, especially the offensive players came out,
people were going crazy for him, and it was really interesting.
Like I understandably he's a star in the US, but
that seems to have also translated over here so quickly.
(16:42):
So yeah, I mean, JP will know I've kind of
hounded us to get Travis way earlier than we even
knew our pig. So I mean, on a personal note,
like awesome to see and I think it's weird because
I see a lot of the discourse online of you know,
people maybe expected more from him, you know, second pick
(17:03):
what he did in college, those kind of alien esque
plays that he pulled off. But I do think where
you know, the Chiefs catch was unreal. It seems to
be like building him into the team rather than like, uh,
you're getting every single reception everything's going to be aimed
at you to start off with. I feel like we're
building him and I feel like it was a good
(17:24):
kind of another platform for him to leap off today
after the first touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Keep it going. You got to keep feeding the ball
for him to score touchdowns. I mean they sometimes they
just hadn't been thrown it to him.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
If his injuries jp, it seems like they might not
all right, anything else to end on guys any more
thoughts about the game or maybe the week ahead.
Speaker 6 (17:45):
I think he's a lot of the same.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
And the defense actually, for a short time in this game,
they got a bunch of punts in a row and
gave this team at least, hey, the offense get the
ball back. They scored a couple of those, so then
we got a ball game again, but they just kind
of ran out of gas.
Speaker 6 (17:58):
I think today that's the bottom.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
Line, agreed.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
I think, yeah, Petrol sorry in the UK, not the best.
I think we all wanted to see it a win
at Wembley. But you know, season is far from over.
We still got a winning record. Let's build on this,
probably see some changes potentially in the next few weeks
and see where we take it. But I'm still confident
for this season. I feel like we you know, yes, early,
(18:24):
but we have most definitely a shot of the playoffs
and see if we can just build the momentum. Look,
we're dropping everything in the moment, no one can catch anything.
It's these things are like I feel, just momentum things.
We'll just get on that run hopefully, and yeah, have
a good kind of into the second half.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Amen.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
And before we end, I want to just say thank
you so much if you said hello during today, it
was really nice to just to be out and about
and for people to come up and say that they
listen to the podcast and that they.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
They they love the podcast.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
But I don't know if they said they love they
said they listened.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
My mum and uncle were here. Was it just those.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Two, yeah, it was it was No.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
What was really nice is that people came up and
they said that they listened to it, and you know what,
I didn't. I didn't catch these two guys' names. I apologize,
but I remember these two Jags fans came up and
it was quite obviously like a father son duo. I
don't know how all the son was, maybe like twelve
thirteen something like that, and just nice.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
You know, it's like the whole family listen to till talk.
Absolutely love it.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
So thank you so much if you popped by and
you know, said hello and thank you for listening. As always,
especially when it comes to the Wembley week Reese, thank
you very much.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
JP, thank you very much.
Speaker 6 (19:37):
Thanks for having me.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Yeah yeah, joining us now as he does every single week,
is Hypeman himself. Jason Bell, the UK favorite NFL pundit.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
How's it going man?
Speaker 7 (19:50):
What's up?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Bro?
Speaker 7 (19:51):
All is good? We've had a world win. Man, it's
been busy over here. Love it. Appreciate all the fans.
It's been fun. Wish we could finish with a win,
but hey, you know what the spectacle of the NFL
and what the Jacksonville Jaguars did for this game, I mean,
it was it was entertaining, it was fun, loved it.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Have you recovered now, because I guess it's Dublin three
games three London games as well. Does that mean you
get a weekend a weekend rest come out?
Speaker 7 (20:19):
No? No, rest, man, It's the NFL season. There's no
bye weeks for the media. That's just for the players, man,
and the coaches. We gotta keep going. So no. You
know what happens now is I try to catch up
on the world. I mean on the league as a whole,
because I'm so focused in on the games and who's
playing here that sometimes I forget what's happening with other teams.
(20:39):
But now I'm just catching up with everything.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
All right, Well, we're gonna forget about other teams for
a second. We're only focusing on one team, of course,
is the Jacksonville Jackuers. Five questions. Let's go. Were you
shocked that the Jacks didn't have more to show in London?
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (20:55):
Yes, totally shocked. First of all, I thought they were
going to start fast, the event of being here, them
leaning into that, saying that because the Rams were coming
in later, this is our advantage. Let's start fast, let's
be sharp, and when you lose because of discipline in
the trenches. Those are two advantages I thought you might
(21:16):
be able to have, especially early in the game. So
that definitely shocked me.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
What was the game lost? Do you think that's where
the game was lost?
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Ye?
Speaker 7 (21:24):
Yeah, yeah, yeah it was. You know, I'm somebody who
looks at the basics of football blocking and tackling, and
if you cannot be successful at one of those, I'm
leaning into it on what your problem is. And right now,
when you can't block up front, the pressure that's happening,
(21:44):
that's really hurting you, and you're beating yourself with penalties
and things of that nature, you just can't win. It's
so hard, man, especially against a good team. You have
to minimize mistakes, and when you hurt yourself, it's hard
to overcome that. And I always say, man, teams got
to go for bad to good before they go from
bad to great, and that happens with discipline and focus.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Who can come away with the headed held high?
Speaker 7 (22:09):
You know. I like the way Travis Hunter played. You
heard the noise. They wanted to get him the ball
and they did and he showed he can give a
little spark, and I think that's what you want to see,
right You want him to be at that pick. You
want to show progress, and he did. And that's the key,
right get him the ball. He's getting more familiar with
(22:30):
the offense. I love the fact that this guy can
catch the ball short. He's got great short, airy quickness.
But he also competes for the ball in the air,
so he attacks it. So he's a great playmaker down
the field. He doesn't have to be open for you
to throw them the ball because he's going to go
up there and get it. I think Trevor Lawrence needs
that somebody can really trust because we see that we've
(22:50):
had a lot of drop passes. So somebody he can
just throw the rock to and can go up and
get it. So I like what we're seeing out of him.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
And Travis Hunts first ever NFL touch down Weber Stadium.
Speaker 7 (23:01):
Hey man, first of many. You know this is the
place to do it. Man, this is the place to
do it, because he's gonna come back every year and think, Man,
you know this is where our first scored. Let me
go out there and do it again. It's a cool story.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
Good or bad time for a bye week.
Speaker 7 (23:16):
Great time for a bye week. Because I call this
self scout not only as a player, Okay, what do
I need to work on? You get to go and
film and evaluate things you need to fix from a
technique standpoint. Maybe it's a conditioning standpoint. I don't know.
Whatever you got to fix, you can do that, and
coaches can do the same thing. You start to look
(23:37):
at the patterns you have. What are the tails we
have on tape that teams are using against us? We
can fix that encounter. It gives you time to do that.
And also coming back from this trip, just sit down
and say, hey, fellas, we all these things we can fix.
Let's rest our mind, rest our body, get a little
more healthier and go out there and execute. So it's
a good time.
Speaker 5 (23:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Tell me what a bye week is like for an
NFL player.
Speaker 7 (24:00):
Well, it's all different. I mean, some players stay in
town and just chill out, get to the facility, especially
if you got an injury. Some leave town. I've had
years where I stayed in town or I went back
to LA and just rested. So in reality, it's good
to just get off your feet, rest, get in the
film room if you have to do that. So everybody
(24:23):
needs to stay locked in. You know what I'm saying.
This isn't vacation time, but it's all about taking this
time to get your body together and get your mind
right and get ready for the rest of the season.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
What do you want to see from the Jags after
the bye week facing the Raiders.
Speaker 7 (24:39):
Well, I need this offense to recalibrate, man, I needed
to get together. I needed to fix its problems, especially
with the protection of the discipline. We got to chill
out with these penalties. I mean, if I'm the coach,
I got a whole clip of all these penalties, and
I'm saying, look at it, look at this, fix this right.
And then the main thing, Man, let's get back to
this running game. This explosive running game was what we
(25:00):
were celebrating earlier in the season. I think we we
calibrate the offense, get back to the running game, cut
down on the disciplines, and you know, come back with
that energy because you're going to be rested. And if
any game is good for that, it's against the Raiders. Man.
But remember good. You know, I don't want to say
they got a good coaching staff because they fired my buddy,
(25:21):
but you got to coach over there with experience, so
you need to you cannot second guess and you got
to come out flying, but run the ball, get back
on track against this Raiders team who struggling.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Do you think there's such a thing as a get
right game?
Speaker 7 (25:34):
Then yeah, oh yeah, when it's over.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Before, you can't think about it that way before.
Speaker 7 (25:41):
Before, when it's over and you won and things got right,
you go, hey, man, that was a get right game.
You know what we got right?
Speaker 2 (25:48):
Man?
Speaker 7 (25:48):
We got back to this and we got back to that.
That's when coaches say it, and it is true, but
you can't say that before the game.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Why.
Speaker 7 (25:55):
You never want any player or your team to think
that they can just walk out there and you roll
the ball on the field and they win. It is
scary when that happens. Man, people don't play as well.
You got to go out there on a razor's edge
with your mentality, the way you've approached it during the
week and the way you attack it during the game,
(26:16):
because it's too hard to win in the NFL at
the end, when things look right, that's when a coach
comes in. That's when leaders say, hey, we fix the
things we emphasize this week. We did it. Now let's
move that on and take this and let this propel
us through the rest of the season, you know.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
And just finally, you know, we mentioned penalties drops. I'm
just wondering, how how in your head can you be
as a player. Do you think that that's something that
comes into two things like this and makes things worse.
Speaker 7 (26:48):
As far as thinking about those penalties and.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Drops, thinking about well, anathing, I suppose, But when as
things that you would deem as preventable and on you
or on an individual, you know.
Speaker 7 (27:00):
I think that makes it easier. I think that's why
you focus on that. When you feel like you have
control of it and you can fix it, you go
out there and do it. Think about the things that
make us as humans go crazy. Things we cannot control.
There's nothing we can do. They just happen to us
and we can't fix it, and we're like, oh my gosh,
you're just wasting all this time trying to do things
(27:20):
and control things that you cannot. So when there are
things that you can fix, whether it's the way you practice,
whether it's the way you prepare, you go out there
and do it because you know that will directly influence
the outcome of your performance in the game. So absolutely
you want to continue to talk about and emphasize these
(27:42):
things because as individuals and as a collective, these are
things we can go fix. And that's what good coaches do,
that's the message that they give to the whole entire organization.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Jay Bell, thank you so much. Should we escape by
the predictions? I don't even know if we need to
really talk about it, the predictions.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
To be honest, all we got to do, you know what,
like a good coach man, Hey, fellas, let's just get away.
Let's focus on our technique, Let's get healthy. Let's not
worry about predicting things and pretending like we know the future.
Let's focus on what we can do, and what you
and I can do is not predicting anything this week.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (28:21):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
J thank you so much. Thank you very much to
Jason Bell, Thank you to JP Shadrack, Thank you Torhese
Parkinson for talking all about that game against Ala Rams
at Wembley Stadium. Looking forward to the bye week as well.
In fact, do you know what, We're going to have
(28:43):
a bit of a break through in the bye week,
so we'll see you in a couple of weeks. Time
breaking down the game against the Las Vegas Raiders, So
we'll see you then, enjoy the bye week, have a
little bit of a relax, you know, chill out a
little bit, do you know what I mean? This has
been a shooting Shark production for Jacksonville Jaguars, who has
been till Talk presented by Gallagher. We will see you
(29:07):
in a couple days.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
