Speaker 1 (00:08):
It's eighteen degrees in Jacksonville, nine degrees in Inverness, a
fourteen in Hastings. This is Teal Talk, the official Jacksonville
Jaguars UK and Ireland podcast, presented by Gallagher. I'm Jay Lawrence,
no relation. He's Key Ram Suran at Jason Bell and
the thoughts of head coach Liam Cohen on the podcast.
But look, let's get into it.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Can't avoid it.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
I have to talk about it, Key, we.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Have to contractually, still in shock.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
It does feel like we should sort of pass over
the game a little bit though, and just preview preview
of the charges this Sunday.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
I don't think any Jags fan wants to dwell on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
No, but we do have to talk about it. Yeah,
all right, A.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
I don't even know where to start. Shall I use
the word disappointing. I feel disappointing might be underregging it
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
But let's not overregg it. Let's I'd rather underregg.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Disappointing loss against the Houston Texans on Sunday. Key instant
reaction after the game, Jay.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
You're not going to believe this Sunday night, all right.
So I had a long journey from Brighton to Margate
with the big one.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Big dog, right, the big dog, the daughter. Just to
be clear, yeah, literal, And I.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Was tired on Sunday night. So at the end of
the third quarter, I went to bed feeling safe and sound.
I woke up Monday morning and watched the fourth quarter.
The word disappointment. Unbelievable. Jay honestly went to bed feeling like,
(01:47):
there's no way, there's no way.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
I didn't even consider a loss. That's nearly as.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Bad as a mate of mine that I was watching
the Falcon's Patriots Super Bowl. You know what happened in there.
You went to bed at halftime dreadful. It's as bad
as that.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Sometimes you wait and you cannot believe the turnaround that
has happened. We went from an incredible record last week
with Cam Little doing what he did, and this week
I'm going to say it was the biggest.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Collapse in Jags history.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Wow, it's definitely a huge definitely a huge loss.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Maybe yeah, I mean, look, let's just be clear.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
They lost thirty six, said thirty six, twenty nine lost
against the Houston Texans twenty nine to ten up after
the third quarter, and that's twenty six points the Texans
scored in the fourth quarter. He's a good stat actually
that I am entering twenty twenty five. This isn't just
the Jags, but teams had lost one hundred and thirty
five consecutive games when trailing by fifteen plus points when
(02:48):
entering the fourth quarter, including playoffs. Okay, in twenty twenty
five so far there has been one, two, three, four
and with the Jags five times. Five times that's happened
just this season. I mean, if you're in neutral, that's unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
It is.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
But if you're not as a fan, are we gonna go?
I mean, we'll talk to Jason about what happened. But what, dude,
the difference between the Jags team that played the Texans
this Sunday compared to the first game against the Texans
earlier this season.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Well, there wasn't.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
There wasn't a ton of offense in this whole game,
and I think it was slightly misleading when you're twenty nine,
you know, twenty nine to ten up after the third quarter.
Not a ton of offense. It was great special teams plays.
Parker Washington had another good game. Michael Washington had another.
It was good defensive plays as well, and then it
comes down to early on you're right, and Davis Mills
(03:49):
in the fourth quarter just deciding that he wanted it happen.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
No is Davis Mills running a fourteen yard How is
that happening?
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Again? How is how?
Speaker 1 (03:58):
There's loads of things that we can say that when
in the fourth quarter. And what I just want to
point out as well is it is such a shame
because we could be talking about got away with one
there because right at the death, right at the death,
Trevor Lawrence, who didn't have a great fourth quarter whatsoever,
he turns it on twenty yard dash for a first down.
(04:21):
He then manages to get the ball to Parker Washington
again on the sideline to put Cam Little and there
or thereabouts field goal range. And we know that he's
got a massive leg of course, as we saw you
know last week, and then a penalty, a penalty brings
it back, which means there's seven seconds left, you know,
on the board, and it is you know, at that point,
(04:45):
it would have been a miracle for the Jags to
get back into it with no timeouts as well. So yeah,
very disappointing. Let's look at the positive still a winning
record five and four. Yeah, we're still in the right
absolutely definitely not And I think that the obvious disappointing
aspect of this is that you were seconds away, essentially
(05:05):
from being six and three, which would have been a
really good record, especially considering the disappointing season last year,
especially considering Liam Cohen's first year as head coachings Gladstone's
you know, first year as GM, as well as with.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
No divisional matchups can make such a big difference when
it comes and it's.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Going to be so difficult and you know you'd only
you've been you know, they're thereabouts. With Indianapolis Colts, it
looks slightly more difficult, albeit there's still two games to
play against them in the rest of the season.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
So jay I was looking ahead in the schedule to
who we've got and who the Colts have got, and
if you frame it a certain way, that we're like,
we're still very much in that race because the Colts
have actually got quite a difficult few weeks coming up.
They've got the Chiefs, they've got the Seahawks, so they've
got and then we've got teams like the Jets and
(05:55):
the Cardinals, so there's a chance to pull something back.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Yes, forty nine Ers, Seahawks, Chiefs divisional games of course
as well for the Colts as well.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
So it's not done. I want to be clear. I'll
be extremely clear. This season is far from done.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
I'm excited to speak to Jason as well in a
few minutes time, because as much as I would love
to say that I have insight of what it's like
to be an NFL player in a locker room after
a loss like this, I don't.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
I know breaking downs.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
I've been in a locker room after a loss like that,
in an NFL locker room, but I wasn't an NFL player.
In fact, I will just say I felt inferior.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
So I'm excited to speak to him because he'll be
able to give us a little bit more insight and
another and you know, I want to be clear as
well because c J. Stroud didn't play in this game
against the Texans. As you know, we mentioned that Davis
Mills turned it on in the fourth quarter, but that's
the second time this year that the Jacks have been
beaten by backup quarterback Jake Browning with the Bengals on
this year as well.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
But there were lots of positives to take from it.
Like you say, Parker Washington, absolutely fantastic. I feel like
we're back to relying on cam littor knowing that if
we can drive a certain way down the field, we've
got that to rely on. That's fantastic. And I think
you you can only I mean, we'll talk to Jason
and we'll see what coach Cohen said later, but you
(07:21):
can only ask questions and provide answers now. So it
can only be and I think I mean Chargers is
a touch Aamer.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Well, we'll talk more about the charges with Jason and
we can get into that a little bit further. We
are still in the if the season with at end today,
still in the playoffs, just saying still in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Got that wild card spot, got that world card spot.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
The Chiefs on the same record as well, five and four,
Texans at four and five behind that, so look still
in there.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Just this team can play well. They can play well,
but it's not happening consistently enough.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
It needs to, is what we said before.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
To take absolutely that's what we said before, and we'll
put a ball on It's what we've said before and
this is a cliche. All three phases need to fire
to be a good NFL team, and they need to
do it regularly.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Okay, do you feel better? Just do you know, feel
a bit more? Was that cathartic?
Speaker 5 (08:24):
No?
Speaker 3 (08:24):
I need Jason.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
You need Jason to put a positive spin on it,
or to give us his hype man speech. All right, perfect,
all right, j Bell, enter the podcast.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
J Bell, you're good, good man, we got football. Everything's good.
Speaker 6 (08:39):
It's a difficult week to week, but this is the
ride we put ourselves on. Right, It's the roller coaster
we signed up for this. Emotion, ups, the downs, all
of it. It's it's a part of the process. It's
why we are all fans and we love the game.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
We'll speaking of emotion, let's play a little bit of
coach Cohen, who had this to say out that loss
to the Houston Texans.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
You know, this game can't beat us again.
Speaker 7 (09:06):
It can't beat us on Sunday at one pm because
we're kicking off against the Chargers. I have a very
quality opponent coming into town. We're back at you know,
we're at home.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Nothing.
Speaker 7 (09:17):
You know, nobody cares. Nobody cares. It's just the next
opportunity that we have try to get a w I mean,
that's the reality is that we gave up a nineteen
point lead in the fourth quarter essentially.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
And didn't get it done.
Speaker 7 (09:29):
Their back was against the wall and they played like it.
You know, they played like it and we didn't. And
so you know, it's hard. It's hard to move forward.
But come Wednesday, we're preparing for another opponent when the
players get it back in the building. We got to
get this tape fixed and corrected and moved on. But
you know, I'm not worried about losing the team by
(09:52):
any means. There's maybe a few guys that can you know,
get some more opportunities at different peace, you know, a
positions that you know, rotating guys in keeping rushers fresh
and utilize some of the personnel that we do have
to be able to create.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
What is your personality more challenge these guys go at
them more aggressively this week after something like that, or
is it more you know, hey, move on kind of thing.
What's the way that you would like to have an
approach to you as a player.
Speaker 7 (10:26):
Kind of went at it both ways in the team
meeting today in terms of guys like nobody cares. At
the end of the day, guys were kicking off on
Sunday against the Chargers, not playing the Texans again, and
we can't relive the moment. We can't change anything about
the outcome of yesterday. It sucks, it's brutal. But this
(10:47):
is the league. This is the NFL, the real adversity,
the real response to gut wrenching, tough losses like this.
Everything is in front of us, Like, we have every
opportunity to go win this week, Like that's all that matters.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
We got to win this week. Look, you live around
the league. I mean, look at all.
Speaker 7 (11:07):
These games, right, I mean teams are winning then they
end up losing at the end, and teams are losing
they end up winning in the end.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
It's just it's who.
Speaker 7 (11:13):
Makes a play. We won three quarters of the game, Like,
let's be honest, right, we won three quarters, we didn't
win the fourth and they did and they ended up
winning the game.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Okay, coach, coming that, Jabow, what's your take on that?
Speaker 6 (11:30):
So coaching is an art not only in play calling,
but handling personalities, emotion, the environment of your team.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
Right, Sometimes it's raining, sometimes it's snowing. Sometimes it's sunny outside.
You have to manage that. And great coaches understand you
can't let a loss roller coaster, like we were saying
into more, how do you do that?
Speaker 6 (11:55):
How do you speak to your team? What are the
words you say? The first thing and the first opportunity
you have to speak to your team is in the media.
What you say to the media, players know and if
you are you have an optimistic point of view, well
(12:16):
they'll understand how you feel about them. And then you
come in the meeting and you say, fellas, this is
who we are, and you show them the positives. You say, hey,
you know this game comes down to the margins. Where
are those at? How do we lose those margins? These
are correctable things. Do not give up hope on yourself
(12:38):
or us or what we're doing, the process, the procedures,
how we go about our business, because look at how
close we are. You have to understand that flips say
you win that game, and say you make all those mistakes.
Then you come in and you like, look how close
we could have lost, and you coach them harder because
(13:00):
that you you on a you on that nice edge
and you want to say, hey, we could have been
on the other side of this, but you have to
understand the climate, and that is the art of coaching.
So he knows. He's got to say we are on
this path together. We are right there. We just need
to fine tune some things. But I believe in you.
(13:21):
Please believe in us. And that's an important message to
give them the energy to go about their business this week. Reset,
start the engines.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
And go so JBO.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
As a player, did you ever have that experience where
a fourth quarter you've got a comfortable lead and then
the team start coming back your your opposition start coming
back at you.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
What's that like?
Speaker 6 (13:43):
Not at that level? I mean that was that was
that was That was tough. But yes, I've seen it
happen a lot. I've been in games where we barely
pulled it out at the end and you come back
in and you start to see where you relaxed like anything.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
You know.
Speaker 6 (14:00):
The reason we like fight sports is it doesn't matter right.
We like the heavyweights because a guy can be getting
beat or a girl regardless of what you're watching.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
And and that last round you could get knocked out.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
You can get knocked out. They go in the corner
like swing for the fences.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
This is it.
Speaker 6 (14:17):
You know, you can't let off the gas, whether it's
defense or offense. Now you have to take responsibility as
a player. But also the play calling comes into that.
You see a lot of times coaches get conservative, they
change what they've been doing because the league of the circumstances,
and now they're doing something that lets the team back
(14:38):
in the game, and then they want to speed it
up and okay, let's go back to what we were doing
and we're all out of sorts.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
So it's understanding that it's.
Speaker 6 (14:45):
Why you don't you know, people talk about pulling starters
and let's put other players in, and that's why people
play the whole game. So there's a reason for that.
So yeah, I've seen it happen, and it's it's a
team game. So you see a lot different phases. Coaches, players,
all of that are responsible for those leagues going to nothing.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
I'm just wondering how much pressure the players. I suppose
you could just say in general, but when it's games like.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
This, how much pressure the players feel, and then how
much they feel, like, you know, after the game. I
think a good example is, obviously, I've never played in
the NFL, Jason.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
You understand the game, you can speak on it.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
A good example, I was thinking it wasn't relevant necessarily
in this game, but it looked like it could possibly be.
Is you know when you see the kickers warm up
on the side of the field, because it looks like
there's going to be like a game winning I mean.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
We saw it, you know, sort of the week before,
I suppose.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
But you know, the game winning field goal or you know,
right at the end of the half or something like that,
you see the kickers warm up.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
It's like, I feel sick for them, do you know
what I mean?
Speaker 6 (15:54):
I love as you say this, because this is why
we watch sports collectively together for that emotion. It's because
we all feel that wherever we are, whether we're in
the stands, on the sideline in the game, at home
watching it, we all feel that live together. It's real.
This is what makes sports fascinating unique. That being said,
(16:19):
when we look at the game and we evaluate those moments,
we know how we feel.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
I feel the same way.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
This is when the greats come out. This is why
we wear their jerseys. This is why we celebrate them
because the way they manage those emotions. We look at
them and we say we're in awe. We're like, how
did you take that and do that? You didn't even flinch?
(16:46):
It was like it was nothing, but I felt it
sitting on this couch with a drink.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
In my hand, like what are we talking about here?
Speaker 6 (16:53):
How are you able to manage all that and then
go perform at a high level? These are the greats,
and these are the ones we celebrate, and everybody's chasing that.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
It's hard to do.
Speaker 6 (17:06):
In my career, I can remember the moments where I
was like that and it's not a lot, It was
more that weren't And because of that, the ones we
talk about the Hall of Famers in those moments, my goodness,
the colme, the clarity, the focus, the intent. It's why
(17:26):
we celebrate them and it's why we criticize too.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
It's hard to do that. That's not easy.
Speaker 6 (17:32):
Like, let's be real, we're gonna always talk about it
after the game, but when you do fall out in
those moments, we'll sing your praise.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Jabell, just just quickly, if you had to put a
percentage on mental against physical in our sports, what would
you what would you say? The percentage divide bearers.
Speaker 6 (17:54):
So that's really, I will say during the game. I
mean it's it's sixty forty mental, you know. But that's
because to get there, you're so athletically gifted, like you
know what I mean, like everybody on the.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Field, so.
Speaker 6 (18:11):
So you know, and the guys that are really I mean,
it's crazy. When you see somebody do something extraordinary, you
think they're doing it against the best athletes on the planet.
You're like, oh my god, there made somebody that's amazing. Look,
you know, amateur crazy, right, But on the field it
is mental because even though you have the athletic prowess,
(18:34):
it's the conversations you have in your head. What are
you saying to yourself? How are you taking this information right?
Because before the snap, you might be a better athlete
than me.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
But if I.
Speaker 6 (18:46):
Understand and I've studied the way where I'm eliminating threats,
well there's two things you can do, and I'm playing
these two things. I've seen it before, Like guys operate
like a computer processor. The best players I've been around
the way they see the game and can break it
down and articulate it.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
In live action. Coming from the sideline is crazy.
Speaker 6 (19:06):
They don't come out till the coach, Hey, this guy
did this, this that this is moved here.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Boom boom boom.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
They're doing this and it's like the coaches know who
they talk they can talk to, because some guys come
off and they can't even get it out. You know,
they might be able to see it, but they can't
articulate it. So it is mental and especially as the
game progresses, because what are the counters, what have you
done different? What does it look like? What is today?
What have you not done? Where is my weakness? You know,
(19:33):
where's the plays weakness? All that in twenty seconds.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
So there you go.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
It's only forty percent physical. You've definitely got a chance.
Speaker 6 (19:43):
You can't. I told you, I told you what it
takes to get in there. You know what I'm saying.
Your credit isn't high enough. You can't even participate. That's
the big table. You come in at the big table
to gamble, They're like, nah, you're living too low.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
You got to go.
Speaker 6 (19:55):
So no, yeah, yeah, don't don't start getting false hope. Man,
I don't want to do your life that bro.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
I just want to be clear, Jason. I never had
false hope.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
But the fact that you just you just told me
that I shouldn't have false hope just makes me feel worse.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
That's what I'm going to say.
Speaker 4 (20:09):
You are good at what you're good at. You you know,
you got a good lane and you dominate. Okay, keep that,
Keep that, my brother. It's hard to be good at something,
all right.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
All that, I feel like this is weirdly turned into
a like a you know when somebody like makes it
sound like they're complimenting you, but they're actually just putting
you down.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
That's what that felt like. That's what that felt like.
Speaker 6 (20:33):
And I'm just so up depressed about this game that
I just want to keep talking in service.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Okay, all right, Jason, let's do this.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Then we'll talk about how we beat the Chargers and
get back on track in a moment of course as well,
you know what happened in the fourth quarter on Sunday.
But first, which jagged player are you giving the game
ball from that game?
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Man?
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Does?
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Does Parker Washington just keep delivering?
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Amen?
Speaker 8 (20:56):
I mean straight, My Man's is a highlight film. He's
a I mean, he's gonna be one of those guys
that every fan remembers for the rest of their life.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
He's just got plays Man, he's just just makes it happen. Man.
Speaker 6 (21:12):
You know, obviously I love anything that happens on special teams,
but the splash plays are real.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
He comes through.
Speaker 6 (21:19):
He's gonna be an integral part of this team for
the future because of what he does.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Man. I do like.
Speaker 6 (21:26):
Travesse etm. I do like a couple of the runs
he had. Man, But it's Parker.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Where was the game lost?
Speaker 4 (21:35):
Man? You know it's lost in the fourth quarter, Man.
Speaker 6 (21:38):
And the thing about the fourth quarters, that's where we're
evaluated because these games are always close. It usually comes
down to the last two minutes, right, That's why you
practice them.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
It's all about execution.
Speaker 6 (21:48):
And when you look at it, it was everybody participated.
That's the thing about it. Everybody participated. On offense, I
didn't like the rhythm. I didn't like to play calling,
and you know that's on everybody. Defensively, you know, when
you're supposed to have you've invested in your pass.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
Rushers and I don't know if it's a fatigue thing
or whatever.
Speaker 6 (22:11):
You're not closing out, you're not getting the pressure when
you need to, and then there's a lot of penalties, right,
and when you think about the penalties, that's on the coach.
That's a coaching thing. So they got to get that right.
So it's a discipline. You didn't have the pressure. I
didn't like to play calling. You know, those those will
always lose you the game.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
What was the key moment or turning point that we
might have missed?
Speaker 6 (22:35):
You talked about Cam Little not getting you know, not
getting a shot, but you know, I think I believe
it was he was a second or third in lawn
and Davis mills Man made a big throw and he
kind of kept the drive going. It was that thirteen
fourteen yard play drive and you just those are the moments,
(22:57):
you know, when you can't get off the field. I
always look at that when I'm looking at the game.
It's not the obvious enough. I'm thinking, that's your moment,
get off the field. That's when you got to do it,
and it didn't happen.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
What needs to improve discipline?
Speaker 6 (23:11):
Composure, you know, especially in those hawk tough moments.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
That's a thing. You condition your body.
Speaker 6 (23:16):
You gotta condition your mind, U head coach, quarterback, everybody's
got to look like they are composed and in control.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
The past.
Speaker 6 (23:26):
Rush has to upgrade, whether you know I heard in
the interview, whether it's bringing more guys in in a rotation,
whatever it takes, you definitely need to be fresher at
the end of the game when it's time to close out,
situational awareness, especially with the penalties. These are all things
you can fix, right Uh, these are things you can
(23:47):
emphasize during the week that that's that's that's what I
like about it. And you know once again that that
offensive rhythm has to get back.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
In the flow.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
And how do the Jags beat the charges?
Speaker 6 (23:59):
Well, oh well, we're gonna definitely gonna have to finish
and drives, especially in the red zone. That's gonna be
the key. I mean, when you talk about it, you
really did. They got a great defense. So offensively, you
want to be able to control the tempo. You want
to get longer drives, keep justin Herbert off the field.
So go back to the running game, quick passing game,
(24:20):
things like that. You just want to get rhythm. That's
the key to this game. Getting a flow, make it early.
Those scripted plays they have to just flow and read
like a good book.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
And you got to close out.
Speaker 6 (24:34):
But in all honesty, there are some weeks where I'm like,
you have to make this about yourself. You really have
to make it about yourself. It has to be about you,
your identity all that because these pass rushes, I'm telling you,
against this offensive line, they got to get after justin
Herbert Man, he's down to like these tackles he's got
out there. Man, that's their weakness. You gotta attack this
(24:57):
offensive line. You gotta close out. It has to be
a big.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Game for them.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Oh, let's talk a little bit more about the charge
is actually who We've had a good season, They're a
good team. At one pm Sunday in Florida. How much
of a vital game for the Jags to win?
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Is this huge game for them?
Speaker 6 (25:17):
For the Jags and went, first of all, you you
cannot you can't lose too in a row man after
the way you you know, you crumbled in the fourth
quarter and you you you you could lose the locker
room in a sense, I mean, you know you don't,
you can you could lose hope, especially against this team.
You gotta go out and have a big time performance.
That's why it's so critical how they go about their
(25:38):
business this week and the head man being positive in
his approach really emphasizing that we have what it takes
in this organization to get it done.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
You see, we're so close.
Speaker 6 (25:49):
Let's just go execute, and in those moments, reminding themselves
in the game. Here we are, we talked about it,
this is the third down. Great teams have been on.
Those moments are discussed before. Hey, this is this is
what we talked about. Let's go, let's do it. And
I think that that needs to be the focus this
week once again, it needs to be about them.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
How much of a difference does it make traveling across
the country because the charges are coming all the way
across the country, that's it. That's a huge journey. Does
that affect how they go into Sunday's game?
Speaker 6 (26:23):
I think the data says that right for the West
Coast teams coming out there. So yes, Another thing is
just the weather, you know, humidity, whatever like that. It's
always different, especially when you talk about a team that
practices in southern California, right, different environment, very chill. So
you want a little humidity, you want a little you
need a little something on your side. So yeah, I
(26:45):
mean you're gonna always see how fast they start. But
nowadays teams are just so well aware of that. Man,
they're so focused on it, but truly it does impact them.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
I just want to focus on I know you mentioned
the locker room there and saying how you know it
can't be another loss and all of that, but I
want to just maybe focus on the positive for a second.
Tell me, maybe from your experience as well, tell me
what a difference this would make, not actually just for
the players, but for the fans as well in mentality
if the Jags get that win against the Charges this weekend,
(27:18):
because I think that suddenly mentality flips from what we're saying.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
You know, it's going on this week.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
I mean, that's that is not even unique. Everything is
so weak the week in this league. Yeah, we come
on here, we have these conversations. Are it changes every week?
How we discuss players, how we discuss coaches.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
Vibes, all of it.
Speaker 6 (27:38):
That's why to your point earlier about how you feel
as a fan, it's the same thing. Yeah, it'll change
everything for the fans hope again, right, Yes, Hey we
bounce back, of course, that's why we'll be all locked.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
In for the game. That's what makes it significant.
Speaker 6 (27:53):
So many storylines, so many players that have to improve, coaches.
We're watching it all and we're going to evaluating. We're
gonna say, oh, this was something they needed to improve on.
That's fixed. Obviously a lot of pressures always on Trevor.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
He takes the snap.
Speaker 6 (28:10):
He's the quarterback, so a lot of it is going
to be on his play and how he manages himself
and that offense in the fourth quarter, whatever the situation
is in those moments. We are going to continue to
evaluate what Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence are doing because
that is where our focus is.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
All right.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
Predictions Mini chev Lawrence figurine up for grabs. No one
predicted what happened at the weekend, which is perhaps unsurprising.
It is still Jason seven, J six. Can you seem
to have lost points since last week? You're minus nine
at the moment. This week you're at four points somewhere
(28:51):
this week. The Chargers prediction key.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Thirty five thirty Jags.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Someone's going big scoring over here. J Bell. Hey, go on, wait,
you say.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
The offense has the potential to dude, if you can
score and I know some of it was down to
special teams, but if you can score twenty nine points
against that Texans defense. This team can this team can
score points.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Man.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
I'm going I'm going high, thirty five, thirty J Bell, that's.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
A nice one. I'm going I'm going twenty eight, twenty one.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Okay, okay, I'm going for twenty one twenty nice one
point game, yeah, nice one point game.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Are they twenty one? Zip up?
Speaker 3 (29:39):
Going into the fourth?
Speaker 4 (29:40):
Oh my god?
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Now twenty nothing down?
Speaker 4 (29:45):
Better?
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Better? Jay? All right?
Speaker 1 (29:49):
J Bell, thank you so much, Thank you so much.
I'll see you see in a few days time.
Speaker 6 (29:53):
Let's we're going to come back and we're going to
all celebrate our man. Trevor Lawrence just responding to the criticism,
looking confident, making it happen out there, and just delivering
a win, because that's what winners do.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
The way you talk.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
About Trevor Lawrence, I feel like at some point you're
going to get matching tattoos.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Just feeling like, you know, so the friendship is real.
I like him.
Speaker 6 (30:15):
I root for him, you know, just I just wanted
to all work out and you know, he's got the makeup,
he's got the talent, just you know, put it all together.
It's tough, man, it is tough. It is not easy,
but hey, it's a wonderful job.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
That's why there's only thirty two of them in.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
The whole world, straight up, straight up.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
But there's still time for me, Jay Belchers. We'll see
it here in a few days time.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
They got video games.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
You can do whatever you like.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
You got it. You got all the freedom in the world.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
All right, Oh, I go now, got thanks man, appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
That was good.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
I was going to ask j Bell there if whose
favorite Lawrence was, but I didn't want to get my
feelings hurt.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
Decided just not to ask.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
We all know, we all know exactly. I just don't
scoop by that. Scoop by that.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
All right, let's move on, j Do of our dispatches.
We were hoping to announce a potential watch party in December.
Plans still ongoing, so we are going to update you
on that as soon as we know more.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
So you know, hopefully next week the worst.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Comes to the worst, I've got a big TV and
Margot everyone come around. International Fan of the Year is
still open for Jaguars fans to either apply themselves or
nominate a fan that they feel deserves not only the
title of International Fan of the year, but also a
fantastic trip to the twenty twenty six NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Fans can now.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Nominate themselves to represent their team as a twenty twenty
five NFL International Fan of the Year at NFL dot
com Slash Fan of the Year, and this is your
last chance to enter, because this is unbelievable prize, unbelievable prize,
unbelievable thing to say that you're an international Fan of
the Year as well. But the deadline is November the seventeenth,
(32:01):
so yeah, you literally have a few days to enter,
So get on at NFL dot com Slash Fan of
the Year.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
I want to mention this.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Other thing as well, key because it's been reported. There's
nothing confirmed here and there's stipulations that would need to
happen and blah blah, blah blah would need a league approval,
but it's nice rumor and seventy five percent of owners
need to agree to this as well. But an Orlando
City Council member quoted on Jacksonville TV says that the
(32:28):
team has given the city confirmation it will play home
games there in twenty twenty seven. Of course, this is
when the stadium is going to be developed in Jacksonville,
so they can't play in the city that year. And
it's also the same year that the Jags are able
to play up to two games internationally as well. Key.
(32:52):
So looks like there's a possibility. And I know that
you know the thing blah blah blah blah blah. You know,
it's not confirmed and all of that, but it looks
like there is a possibility, think possibility that Jacksonville might
be playing in Orlando in twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
I mean, it makes a certain amount of sense, doesn't it.
I mean, you know, it's not that far away, similar weather,
et cetera, et cetera, not too far for the fans
to go. I've heard that actually, if that doesn't work out,
I've heard that Margate is very nice.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Yeah, apparently apparently it's either it's either Orlando or Margate.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
There we go.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
That'd be amazing, it would be they both have similar
We have a stadium that has that has one terrace.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
Margate Market.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
So you've got I think in Orlando you've got Disneyland,
but in Margate you've got dream Land.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
To say, there you go, go, Here we go, Here
we go.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
All right, this has been Tiel Talk and association with Gallagher,

You don't enjoy it usually, is that what you're employing?
Speaker 1 (33:56):
Then?
Speaker 3 (33:58):
Did sound like that, didn't it? That's no, that's not
and I'm saying I always love.

Speaker 2 (34:25):

Speaker 3 (34:29):
I'm going to say, attempting to teach Reese? Okay, He's like,
do you know what, Parker Washington has a fantastic career
ahead of him as a player and then definitely has
a career as a coach as well.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
All Right, that's on the Januars.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
Right now, as.
