Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's thirty four degrees in Jacksonville, nineteen in Burnley nineteen
and Burnley and yet twenty seven degrees in Ipswich. Whoa,
that is a difference right there.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
This is Well Talk podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
This is Still Talk, the official Jacksonville Jaguars UK and
Ireland podcast, presented by Gallagher. I'm Jay Lawrence, no relation.
He's Key Ram Suran. The Jags have been on the
prow and some of the team visited the UK. We
caught up with Cam Little, we caught up with the
Lua Khan as well, coming up later on till Talk.
You had a good time, didn't you, Key.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I had a very nice time. Thanks for asking, Jay.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
I guess we'll talk about it in a minute. Because
I wasn't. I wasn't there, unfortunately that you were there
to to schmook.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Not because you were invited. JA, don't make I was invited,
sour No, I.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Was just too busy in the south of France.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
You know, stop your moment.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
That made me feel slightly sick. There's a nice little
clang at the beginning of the show. Anyway, let's let's
start with the big new So the last few days
actually as well. Travis Hunter has signed a ficially official
I mean it was really it was a full gone
conclusion to be honest with you. Let's not pretend that
this is like you know, mega news and we weren't
expecting it. But his signature is now on his JAG's

(01:13):
contract at a cool forty six point six y five million.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
What would you do, Dodger contra the first thing you'd
buy if that was thought.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
I've thought about this a lot, and it would be
and this is genuinely what I would do. By a
massive curry, A massive curry, not just like a large
curry like a large chicken tiku missala. I would buy
lots of different curries and just have a really good
curry takeaway so.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
It's a fast quantity rather than one very expensive curry.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Oh no, I mean I'd get like the best. If
the best curry is the most expensive curry nearby, then
I would get that. But I would also just get
lots of different dishes, like have a like an Indian
tap pass with just all of.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
These different name the Indian tylas.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
That would be. That would be what I would do,
Because the thing is is you don't want to make
a massive sir, we're going at this is the weather podcast,
in the weather, advice.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
The small weather and food on this podcast. Than then
that's it.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
But you don't want to make a big decision and
just like on the same day as like buy a
house or whatever, because you might get the house you
don't want, but you know that you're like Curry, so
just get a really good enjoy it anyway, That's what
I would do. Forty six point sixty five million dollar
contract and the signing bonus is thirty point five seven million. Actually,

(02:35):
that is the first non quarterback that non drafted first
overall in NFL history to receive his entire signing bonus
up front. So quite a big thing. Quite a big thing. Travis,
Go and get that Curry. Go and get that Curry.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
He's going to be full.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Yeah, it's going to be full. Again. This isn't a
particular surprise that he signed his contract, but you know
is it's good. Nonetheless of what the Jags social media
team did. Did you see this key?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:04):
So I scrolled I thought, oh that's cool. I like
that video. And I kept scrolling and another video and
I was like, oh, I've seen this. Oh no, I
haven't that's clever. They're doing the one for offense, one
for defense. Very funny.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Yeah, they're literally just saying we have signed wide receiver
Travis Hunter to his deal, and then another post straight
after we have signed defensive back Travis Hunter to his deal.
That is good.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
That is good.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
I really like that. And you know what, it's been
a good I know, in nice NFL few weeks I suppose,
what with mandatory mini camp as well. It's over and
done with now, but it was a chance to see
some of these players, see a bit of Travis Hunter,
see a bit of Trevor Lawrence back on the field,
Brian Thomas Junior and all that nice. Get to get
a little bit of taste of NFL action before it

(03:56):
really ramps up in a few weeks time.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Man, So you've mentioned of the names that I've been watching.
I mean, you know, I'm a big Brian Thomas person.
To see him go down with a bit of a
bit of a niggle but come back this week looking good.
Reports are saying that healthy and as good as ever,
so that's fantastic. Same for Trevor. I think he was
wearing was it like an arm covering at one point

(04:19):
but apparently.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Not to worry about.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
I think it was just so exactly so it's all precautioned.
So good to see Trevor looking good. And yeah, did
you see what they're calling the unicorn catch from Travis Hunter.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
I haven't seen it, but I have heard. I have heard,
so go On describe it to us.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
I mean, absolutely ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
That was it the interception.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
I couldn't tell so the video that I saw, no,
because he's he's wearing offense colors, so he's in he's
in the teal, so it must have been offense. But
it's absolutely ridiculous. He must have jumped about four foot
in the air the ball, not to criticize anyone, may
have been called slightly overthrown, but Travis somehow does this

(05:03):
massive stretch, like full stretch four feet up in the
air and then full length of his body sort of
taps the ball down into the to then bring it in. Honestly,
the athleticism is unreal. Unicorn catch. I love that.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
I think it's just, you know, any catch, it could
be the most mundane catch, to be fair, and it's
gonna get us excited about Travis Hunter on and you
know what was exciting as well. I think it was
the last day of mini camp. Is that Travis Hunter
with a crown with fans watching. I think it was
the first time he'd played on defense in front of fans,

(05:40):
so they got to, you know, experience what it might
be like in a game watching him in a little
bit on our fence, and you know, watching him on
defense as well, so it's exciting. And you mentioned Brian
Thomas Junior there as well. Going down with a little
bit of a you know, always happens this time of year,
and it will happen a few weeks times as well.
If somebody stays down longer than for like three seconds,
there's audible gasp because it's like, is he all right?

(06:04):
You know it is me.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
I feel like this time of year, because there's no
actual games for us to watch, the drama of everything
is massively heightened. Oh my god, did you see how
slowly he walked out of the locker room.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
It's true, Well, you know, I love it when on
nothing to do with the Jags, but when when there's
a contract dispute in the NFL, and then then then
that player un follows the team on Instagram and it's
like a massive thing. Did you see did you see?
Then followed unfollowed the team on Instagram. Yeah, but thankfully,

(06:41):
Just to clear up, Bryan Tomas Junior is fine.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
He is still following the Jaguars main I g account.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
We're all good exactly alright. I mean we mentioned it before,
didn't We are fresh off of Jaguars on the prow.
A few Jags players visiting the UK. Key Lucky to
catch up with him, tell us about what happened on
the day and tell us about you know what it
was like.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
It was across two days. We had a really good time,
so we spent time with the players. On Friday, we
went over to Talk Sport, then we did some sight seeing.
We did some stuff at the NFL UK office, which
is where Reese Parkinson caught up with Foyer and luacun
and then we went over to check out Fulham Pier,

(07:23):
which opened on the Friday night.

Speaker 6 (07:25):
That was really cool.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Players had a really nice time. Saturday, honestly was unbelievable.
We were at ealing trail Finders. There's one thousand plus
people there, Jags fans, kids playing jagtag and flag football.
The players are there doing an appearance and signing. Do
you know what. I don't know if this is official
or not, but from my experience, it was easily the

(07:48):
biggest event that the Jaguars have done in the UK.
It was. Yeah, it was really big, really good. The
players did like a crossbar challenge in front of the
crowd where they're trying to three different balls. So we
had a rugby ball, soccer ball and American football and
they're trying to hit the crossbar with all three balls.

(08:08):
Really good fun. I won't to all you the results
because it'll all go up on Socials on the YouTube
channel and stuff like that in the next couple of weeks,
but that was really good fun and players meeting fans,
so many fans there, dude. It was such a good day,
really nice.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
And obviously you got to catch up with Lewis reezamate
with where Luacan and Cam Little as well. The videos
that I've seen so far just on like social and now,
and obviously, as you say, there's more to come. But
Cam Little looked like he was in his element. He
looked like he was loving being in the UK.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Cam Little is essentially British, he will claim them, but
I've never at one point so I am going to
say this bit. It's a really funny video. It's on
Jaguar's UK Insta and YouTube of Cam said that he
wanted to go and do an ice cream, like a
ninety nine flake mister softy type ice cream, right, So

(09:04):
we thought, oh, that's that's really fun. So we started
filming it and I'm not going to say what happens,
but Cam turns British and he's he reacts in a
British I hardly touched it. He honestly turns British in it,
and it's one of the best things I've ever seen
in my life. Go and watch.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
It's like he's in Oliver or something. I want some
more ice cream. Yeah, it's so good. Well, we already
know that he loves a What did he say when
we spoke to him last sea He called it a chipper. Yeah,
that's it, a chipper. He loves a chipper. Now he
loves a nice you know, ninety nine flake or whatever

(09:43):
as well. Yeah, I love it. I love it. Okay,
Well I'll tell you well, let's hear from Cam little,
shall we. The Jags Kicker caught up with our very
own Rhese Parkinson cab little.

Speaker 6 (09:57):
I think like you are a British person. Point. There's
a few reasons for this. You love the shops here.
I feel like you vibed with the shops.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (10:06):
Soccer, Yeah, a big farm. I haven't converted you to
be a Fulham fan yet, but I like, yeah, each
day we're getting that day by day. I'm thinking we
start with the debate that we have had. Yesterday it
was me, you, Lewis and Foyer. You asked me a question,
Oh yeah, you went, Reese, who do you think is
the best striker in Premier League history?

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Explain Rooney, It's it's not even close.

Speaker 6 (10:28):
Fight your case.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
I mean, like we.

Speaker 7 (10:31):
Said, we were talking to Lewis said it the other
day and I thought it was a great point. Seventeen
coming from Everton, played at the top of the league,
arguably top team in Europe at the time, with me
and you, and he's scoring hat tricks like it's.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
Not But Tirian ree Is Tierry reed, no one had,
no one had Tierry swag, no one.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
How long versus Tyran I.

Speaker 6 (10:52):
Can answer that question. I can find out, but.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
I'm pretty sure Rooney played a little longer in the prem.

Speaker 6 (10:57):
Anything on his impact, Like I felt like, who.

Speaker 7 (11:03):
Okay, arguably, who's the better striker for their teas? No
he's not, you know, he's not. Like you go and
ask you United fan, who's the best striker we've.

Speaker 6 (11:11):
Got and you asked if I'm.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Yeah, it's like Tyrane.

Speaker 7 (11:15):
But there's also guys up there that you could very
well make the case for.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
Then Percy was up there for a little bit.

Speaker 6 (11:20):
No more than I'm rie. You've got a case You've
got a hate case against at this point.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
No, I don't, but I'm just it's because I was
a big root.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
I do.

Speaker 7 (11:27):
Because I was a big root. I had a fat
head of Rooney in my room. Of the overhead kick
against the City.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
Shout out to ninety for the cross. Yeah, it's a
good game.

Speaker 6 (11:38):
New head coache, new GM at the Jacks. A lot
of change. How has that been so far?

Speaker 4 (11:44):
It's been good. I think it.

Speaker 7 (11:45):
It was changed that obviously I liked because I'm younger
as well, and I mean Doug was great and all.
I have no no hard feelings against him, but obviously
Liam's younger, staff James younger as well, So I think, uh,
the way kind of American football is kind of going
in the route of the younger kind of you can

(12:05):
relate a little better with the youth, and so I
like the energy they bring in. Obviously, we've retained Heath
as well, which is great.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Love Heath.

Speaker 7 (12:13):
Love everything he does for our unit, and he keeps
us together and probably the best coach I've ever played
for positionwise.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (12:19):
Yeah, he keeps me on, keeps me on my game
on and off the field, make sure that I'm always
in the right form for whatever scenario.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
It is. So yeah, loving the new staff energy is great.

Speaker 6 (12:29):
Well, it feels like, you know, speaking of your unit,
it does feel like your unit is perfectly matched with
the new head coach nude. Yeah, yeah, because of that youthfulness. Yeah,
it feels like you have a mini family there. Even
with Logan's contracts coming in, I.

Speaker 7 (12:43):
Mean that was awesome when we figured it out, because
you know, you never know when that stuff can arise,
and it kind of just happened, and I mean we were
me and Ross were so excited for him. Even when
they got the Pro Bowl stuff, it felt like that
was like, dang, we're celebrating these guys again. But yeah,
we were super excited and I think Heath and Luke
both kind of tie that glue. Both especially needs coaches
tie that glue together with our unit. I don't think

(13:05):
I could have landed in a better spot.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
So it's great.

Speaker 6 (13:07):
So we were speaking to the kids in jack Tag
and they had a question for you, which was biggest
career highlight? Yeah, and you mentioned that field goal kick
against the Colts. Yeah. So if we go back to
that moment, I know it's quite a It's probably something
you get asked quite a lot, I would imagine, But
in moments like that, yeah, that mental have you got it?

(13:29):
I feel like, yeah, you've got your kick, Look do it.

Speaker 7 (13:31):
It's like you, I mean, you are can equate it
to like a penalty shoot hour free kick. You go
out there and you've done it a million times, be
foreign training, and so at that point it's like muscle
memory takes how you you black out. I mean it's
like if you were in a life or death situation
and someone's tried to rob your house, You're not gonna
think about, oh what am I gonna do? Your instincts
are just gonna react. And so I think if you
practice something enough, eventually that muscle memory and instinct you

(13:53):
build up in training is going to take over in
the game.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
So I kind of heavily rely on that.

Speaker 7 (13:58):
And I can't tell you what I'm thinking about five
seconds before I kicked the ball five seconds after it Like,
it's just you're there and you're literally living in the moment.
There's there's not a thought going behind my.

Speaker 6 (14:07):
Head, so you can't even kind of track back to that,
which I think is a good thing because.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
It means it's.

Speaker 7 (14:11):
Not different exactly in truth, the same scenario regardless of
what kick is.

Speaker 6 (14:15):
Wow. So you're in London and this is a good
example for the end of the year when you come back.
What's more difficult? And I actually think I know the
answer this Most people won't pick the answer, but taking
a feel god kick at Wembley, or remembering the correct
terminology when ordering fish and chips.

Speaker 7 (14:33):
Probably correct terminology ordering fish and chips. I can't remember
what I don't know what it is. And Lewis and
Tay have been giving me crap all the time for
saying stuff wrong, but that's okay. At least I know
how to kick a ball right, and that's all you need.
Anything I can't do, at least I can kick a ball, right,
I guess.

Speaker 6 (14:50):
But your review on fish and chips it's good.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (14:54):
I mean I'm not a big fish person, Like I've
just came on a sushi like a year or two ago,
so and I'm not a big like fried fish fan.
But I had it once here when we were here earlier,
and that malt vinegar, that stuff is good. And you
think like you think, you think malt vinegar and it's like, oh,
that's nasty, but it's actually it actually does make it
taste good.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
It does.

Speaker 6 (15:16):
And then you've done it once. Well you've been here
before in terms of the UK playing at Wembley, but
this time going into it for this year. Any changes
in your routine or anything you want, And.

Speaker 7 (15:28):
I don't like to I don't like to mix it
up too much, for you know, the way I do
my thing. I don't like to think about it too
much either to the fact that it's like I've got
to keep the strict routine. I try to keep it
as less superstitious as possible. I mean I have a
couple obviously, but my routine stays the same. It's like
I don't want to have to keep repeating, you know,
if I'm an hour before kickoff. I've got to be there,

(15:49):
laced up, ready to go with my home and on. Like,
I'm not that type of person. I kind of organically
just kind of let it happen. Don't like to put
don't like to make a scenario bigger than it is.

Speaker 6 (15:57):
I'm getting to play Wembley again. Oh it feels like
it's I would say, slightly more special for you. I mean,
because I know how much of a sucker find you are,
but getting to go there again, what's your fools ahead
of all the time.

Speaker 7 (16:10):
I'm excited obviously, kids asked a question earlier. You know
what you know likes a wimbley, Like what makes it
so special playing there? It's like, I mean, going back
to all the legends that are either performed a concert there,
played massive matches there, and to see all, like even
in the locker room, all the history behind the people
who've played there, the celebrities that have been there, it's sick.

(16:31):
And I mean you go out there with goosebumps and
it's two three hours before kickoff and I'm looking at
standium like this is literally the coolest game I ever
played in and it's just a mid season game.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
It's another game, so yeah, it's sick.

Speaker 7 (16:42):
It was weird though, because post game I kicked one
field goal last year and it was a short one.
It was like a chip shot, and the whole media
I've literally done nothing during the game besides one field
goal and two pats, and everyone from the media is
asking me questions about soccer, and Mitch is like, what
are they asking all you?

Speaker 4 (16:57):
What are you asking these questions to him? But he
didn't do.

Speaker 7 (16:59):
Anything this game and you're just asking totally separate because
it's you know, I like soccer.

Speaker 6 (17:04):
Yeah, yeah, okay. Well, at least people will wear and
I think they will be even more now, both boys
a pleasure, County, thank you very much, and then look
forward to seeing you are gazing thanks to Yes.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
That was Cam Little chatting to Reese Parkinson at the
Jaguars on the Prowl event presented by Experience Kissing Me
Now Jay. They are talking about who is the best
Premiership footballer of all time? Cam is going with Wayne Rooney,
Reese is going with Tierry on Ree. The correct answer
is Tierry on Ree obviously, but who are you going with?

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Well, first of all, I'm going to pull you up
and say it's not called the Premiership anymore, Key, I
think that says a lot about your football.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Doge stopped in two thousand and four, I'll own Yeah, Well,
if if it started in two thousand and four, then
presumably Tierryan Ree is the correct answer for.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
You, isn't it, Key? Look, I'll be as a I
don't think there's any debate. Tierryan Ree majestic, majestic forward
in the Premier League. And if you you're a Man
United fan and you're listening, I apologize, Well, no, I don't, Actually,
I don't apologize. Try amazing. He's always in my you know,
like you do, like her best eleven Premier League of

(18:12):
all time and all of that. Then Tierry on Re
is always is him or Alan Sheer I always think
that go Topaynroony was amazing. Don't get me wrong. Roony
was amazing, But it's Tierry. Sorry, Cam, So I apologize, Cam.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
All right.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
This is the only thing I will probably ever say
about soccer watching Tierry on Re and Dennis Burg can't
play next to each other. That was me, like, it's
never going to get better than this, And so I
stopped watching football?

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Was it?

Speaker 1 (18:36):
And now let's get back to talking about American football.
I figure you're right, though, Dennis burkhab a special player,
and look, we're gonna we're gonna hear from Foyer Lucan
as well. Shortly. I think that the interview was done.
Was it done prior to him going to see Do
a Leaper?

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yes, it was.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
So there's a lot of you know, excitement, do a
Leaper excitement. But I mean like he sounded like he
was actually really excited to go see.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
They all were. They all were.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
I'm not surprised anyway. We're going to hear from Foy
in the second at first, so let's do Duval dispatches.
So having the players in town always means that fans
really start getting excited for the game. I get excited
for the game at Wembley Stadium, you get excited, I'm sure.

you know, being there be in that tunnel.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Well, you need to be due a leaper in order
to achieve most of us can't do that.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
Most of us last I checked, no, not do a leaper.
I'm not doing a leaper. We heard from Foryer Lucan
in the last two talk actually didn't and he was
talking about his favorite his favorite players in the Premier League.
He was busting through them. He brought up Paul Skulls.
It was like a that was a good one because
you know, Paul Skulls ain't playing for it. I know

(21:39):
he's an amazing player. Don't get me wrong, Paul Skulls,
but we haven't played in a little while, so I
love that. And we heard how he was really excited
for his visit to the UK as well, so we
got Reese to caught up with him face to face.
Let's hear Reese's jack with Foyer Lucan.

Speaker 6 (21:55):
New head coach. Geah, that's a lot of change. How's
that change been so far? We're middle of the summer.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
It's been. It's been fun. They get it. They bring
in great energy. I think they know they're they're younger too.
I feel like they have a chip on their shoulder really,
so when they come in the building, it's kind of
that mindset that they come in. They have something to
prove and they want to get it done their way,
putting their footprint on this whole operation here with the Jaguars,

(22:23):
but they want wins and they want it done their way.

Speaker 6 (22:26):
And you felt that pretty quick through conversations with them, obviously,
But just is it like a vibe shift as well?

Speaker 3 (22:31):
You feel definitely the vibe shift. Everything's done with high energy.
The first meeting that we had, the message was great,
and then you go in the weight room, it's, you know,
good energy there. Everybody's pushing that way. Yeah. No, shortcuts
on anything. It's it's definitely high intensity, you know, high drive,
and that's kind of how we approach this whole off season.

Speaker 6 (22:52):
So I want to ask you this question. You went
to Yale University, right Ivyley School. Incredibly smart people tend
to go to yo but that you're thinking of some friends,
like I'm not sure about this person, Yes, met some
some smart people go to Yao University. From Yaoe to

(23:14):
the football field, are there any tangibles that you can
take from your experience there in terms of like the
high education that you receive and put it onto the
football field, because you hear a lot in like especially
during the draft period, like this player has got such
a smart in the interview he came across so well,
Like are there things you can take from that experience
and do you bring it to the football field.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
I think the most important thing I learned from Yale
is that I wasn't the smartest in the room. There
are very smart people, they're very gifted people. But doesn't
mean that there's no opportunity for me to produce a
better product than them, if that makes sense, Like if
we're in the same class, there's no way like we
have the same test, it might take them a little
bit less to get whatever grade they got, but I
can still beat them if I do it my way

(23:55):
or if I know what I can get better at.
So however you start, you can always keep getting better.
And that goes for any class. Like all these people
in the room have different talents and different ways they
go about life. But like at the end of the day,
if there's a goal that we're all trying to reach,
I mean not competing against them, but like making sure
that you're up to par with them, and then in
the end, like if you have to exceed them, doing

(24:16):
what you need to do to exceed them. I think
that's kind of what I took out of that opportunity
to be at Yale. So going into the football field,
I think that same kind of thing. I came in
learning a new position, and it was I had to
get on par with the guys at my position, and
I had to if I wanted to stick around, keep
getting better and better and year in year out. I

(24:38):
think understanding that there are people who can do X,
y Z better than me, or there's ways for me
to improve my game, Like it's never a finished product,
and I think at Yale kind of going into classes
or going in as a student, you understand that how
I came in is not how I'm going to leave
this school. So I think even going into games, like
there'll be plays or the ebbs and flows the games

(24:59):
that all right, the might have the upper hand in
this drive, but how do we come back make ourselves
better as fast as possible in order to get the
upper hand. So, like, I like seeing somebody's best because
now I know I can go beat it. If that
makes sense, I'd just be the competitor in me. But
as soon as I see something, let's say somebody beats
me on a route, I was one step off, Well, shit,
fix that step, and now let's see what happens that

(25:19):
that didn't work. I was a little bit closer. Let's
keep on getting closer better or better better, and then
all of a sudden, I'm better than you. So that's
kind of how I go about my whole football career.

Speaker 6 (25:29):
That's super interesting because I could be your answer to
this question. I want to ask you, is you know
our draft class, a lot of defensive players that we'd
picked and gone with. Do you feel like it's it's
part of your role to kind of put your arm
round one of the rooks, especially on the defensive side.
And if you could go back to when you first

(25:49):
got drafted, what would be something that you wish someone
had told you, And do you pass that on to
this next gen.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
I don't really go out of my way to put
my arm around people. Makes sense. I feel like I
do make sure I keep my standard, and I see
who's willing to try to come up to my standard,
I feel like, and those are the people I feel like,
you know, I got, I understand like they really need
a little bit of help to keep pushing forward. That
makes sense. I feel like in life people help people

(26:18):
who want to be helped, and if you're not, really
if I see that the team needs you and I
feel like you could use some help, I'll definitely That's
why I'll go out my way. But I'm really trying
to help people who I feel like have the mindset
that my help will help them. If that makes sense. Yeah,
in terms of like what I wish somebody would have

(26:39):
told me, enjoy it because like sometimes I have to
take a step out because I'm always trying to get
always trying to get better. I have to take a
step out look at the progress that I may to
really appreciate it, and I feel like sometimes me talking
about it. A lot of people brag about their stats
and stuff. I don't really do any of that because
I'm always trying to get better and better, you know
what I'm saying. I always feel like there's something I

(27:00):
could have improved on, There's something I could have done
better throughout the season. So when people like tell me
to celebrate my other successes, I don't really feel like
I was as successful as I wanted to have been.
So that kind of hurts even the way media talks
about me. It kind of hurts the way that people
see maybe my career so far, because me personally, I
want to do better. So everybody else is going to
take that and say, oh, he should have been better

(27:22):
when some people might do what I've done and they celebrated,
and now everybody's celebrating with them, you know what I'm saying,
So celebrate your ups. We'll always keep trying to get better.

Speaker 6 (27:32):
So we heard on the Till Talk podcast Jagger's ukn
Island podcasts that used to play soccer.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
I did Big Fan as well.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
If there was one teammate that you would select in
your five side team from the Jags to be in
your soccer team. Who would that be?

Speaker 3 (27:51):
See, I feel like I'm going to just going through
my thought process. What I'm thinking. So Cam can obviously kick,
but that might not be what I need, you know
what I'm saying. Sometimes just good athletes out theren can
can because in FIFA I would choose Cameroon and they
all sucked, but they were fast in athletics. Try to win,
you know what I'm saying. So I just need somebody
with good footwork who can be in position, win some tackles,

(28:14):
give the ball to the playmakers, if you know what
I'm saying. So like Cam out there, he can kick,
but I'm gonna knock him off the ball every time.

Speaker 6 (28:21):
So kim Lit is getting pushed, so he's not making team.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
I need somebody can run still, so ad Jile, but
can like still get up and down the field. They're
still coordinated enough with the feet. Travis, Oh, I haven't
seen him kick a ball hunter Okay, I actually don't
see them kicking the ball though. I need somebody who
I feel like I know Kid, I'm gonna go Devin Lloyd,

(28:47):
Devin Lloyd. He's simplar, He's coordinating enough. He can do anything, man,
and I know he's gonna win me all the tackles.
You should see him play basketball. I'm gonna go, Devin Lloyd,
Devin Lloyd. Yeah, Yeah, we're gonna run that soccer field.

Speaker 6 (28:57):
And what he like as a BOST player, He's.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
Actually way more coordinated, Like he can jump, he gets
every rebound, he can hit some open shots. He's he's decent.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
Okay, yeah, okay, Devin Lord, he's making the team.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
My soccer team. Me and him would run it. I
know it. I'm sure he would get competitive score goals.

Speaker 6 (29:12):
Yeah, we can put that to the test. Well, when
you're over for the game later this year, you and
Devin will get you on the five.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
Side pitch, all right, promise?

Speaker 6 (29:20):
Yeah yeah if the team, the team will probably not
let you play football, but we'll see. But how excited
are you for the UK game this year?

Speaker 3 (29:30):
I'm excited. I enjoyed coming every every year, and I
just love how much the game has grown. I love
the energy the fans bring. They're so excited to see
the game and everything. But I think it's from my
first year ever doing it. I was so surprised how
many people show up. And now I can feel the
real energy in the stadium, like they really know what's
going on, they know what to cheer for, They're really

(29:50):
interested in the outcome of the game. I think it's
really been a cool aspect to be able to come
over here and grow the game.

Speaker 6 (29:57):
Well, you're one of us. Now you've been here enough time.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
I really feel like it. Yeah, we just need the
accent to come through next that coming. Yeah. I had
a lot to Harry Potter them.

Speaker 6 (30:09):
Okay, favorite Harry Potter character who's there.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
She's barely in the movie. She's kind of aloof Luna.
Loved you.

Speaker 6 (30:17):
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, appreciate you, Thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
All right, Rhys Parkinson with Foyer Lucan again talking more
about you know, our side of the Atlantic football there
with some slightly dodgy, not dodgy opinions, that's not fair
dodgy logic.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Well, there was a lot of round ball talk at
the weekend, right rees asking Foyer, who's going to be
on your five side team? Foyer gives all the reasons
that Cam Little should be on the five A side team,
and then chooses Devin Lloyd. Well, if you haven't heard
my conversation with Foyer from the last Till talk, you

(30:58):
should get back onto, you know, go back on to
listen to because we did speak about a bit about football.
Then it turns out that Foye was really genuinely a
talented soccer player when he was younger, like genuinely very good,
like he played for Stay and he was in around
like the national trials and all of that. So, I
mean genuinely a good player up until I think he

(31:19):
was about twelve or thirteen something like that, and when
he stopped playing.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
So you know, first of all, not showing not showing
your soccer talent there if you're if you're not choosing
Cam Little to be on your five A side team.
But I guess it. You know, it does prove that,
you know, he's multi talented, multi talented kid.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
Do you know what? Foyer is a very impressive human
being to just go, oh, yeah, I'm this good at soccer,
but I'm not going to do that. I'm going to
do that instead and then make a success of it.
Went to Yale and got a degree is an economic
like yeah, and I said to him, I said to
him at the weekend, do you are you still them
to finance and economics and whitna it is boring.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
I was like, and it's yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Yeah, I only did that to get my degree, all right, Yeah,
because I know that's crazy, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
Yeah, boy, just went to Yale. What did you do
for Yale economics at Yale? That is crazy? That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Anyway, thank you very much to foryer Luk, and thank
you very much to Cam Little as well, and for
Lewis Jezamit as well. We'll making the trip across from
Florida to the UK to meet loads of Jags fans.
Sounds like it was an amazing event. And this is
the next few weeks, key, the probably going to be
the quietest few weeks until well twenty twenty six when

(32:31):
it comes to when it comes to Jags in the
next In the next few weeks, we've got the quiet time,
and then training camp rolls around, and then and then
preseason games roll around, and then suddenly it's the season,
all in the space of a few weeks after that.
So if you are a Jags fan, if you're an
NFL fan, maybe now is the time to just enjoy

(32:53):
the quiet because it is going to get very, very
loud afterwards.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Do you know what, Yeah, come come August. It's going
to start ramping up training camp with Miami preseason games,
and do you know what, there's going to be a
lot of talk about the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Oh, this is going to be the loudest Jacksonville Jaguars
talk nationally internationally as well in the media. You're gonna
hear so much more Jags talk than you have heard
for a long time.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Jay, I know we say it every season. I know
we do, and I know we always get super excited,
and I know we always go, oh, this is big,
But this season feels different. It feels somehow, it feels younger,
it feels more innovative, it feels fresher, and it feels
super super exciting. Enjoy the next couple of weeks because

(33:47):
it's going to get busy.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
I think we'll finish there, shall we and we'll be
back at the end of July. Then we're going to
be weekly from the end of August as the season starts.
This has been tiled to work in association with Gallagher,
a shooting shark production for Jacksonville, Jaguars UK and Ireland.
