Speaker 1 (00:04):
It's twenty seven degrees in Jacksonville, fourteen degrees in Plymouth,
thirteen in Belfast, and there is actually a reason we've
been checking the weather in Belfast as well. This is
Teal Talk, the official Jacksonville, Jaguars UK and Ireland podcast,
presented by Gallagher.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I'm Jay Lawrence, no relation.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
He's Key Ramsur and and we are joined by Jaguars
Foundation ambassador Alight and of course u K NFL.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Do you see on your screens? Jason Bower? How's it going, Jason?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
What's upfellas? Everything is all good? Glad to be on
with you.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
And you should claim some kind of relation with the
Lawrence name, and why not? You know, you never know
what you get you can get for free, so I'll
roll with it, do you know what?

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Maybe that's how I should I pin it. You know,
whenever I do meet you know, Trevor this season or whatever,
I'll be like, you know, we are actually long lost.

Speaker 5 (00:49):
So just after a free jersey, aren't you signed?

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Free jersey? All signed free jersey? Thank you?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Look, we've got a busy, busy show tonight today, guys. Actually, Jason,
really quick question for you, you know, helly or you
know when you when you were interacting with people. I
do see that A lot of people call you J Bell.
Now is that for? Is that a friends and family
exclusive thing? He's wondering.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Everybody can call me J Bell? Do it?

Speaker 4 (01:13):
I mean, when you play on a team, don't make
up your nickname. It's what they call you. And from
the jump, I've always been J Bell.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
That's who I am. That's what I am.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
So yes, did you have any nicknames Jason that you
weren't so keen on and you're playing days?

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Those I can't discuss. But no, you know what what
what is funny though? I had a defensive coordinator call
me a poodle before in a good way. He was like, man,
you're a little dude.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
You're loud, you're you know, you're.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Aggressive, but these big dogs will stomp you out, so
just chill out. So yeah, that that one I didn't
and he put in the paper too when I was
in Dallas.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
I kind of didn't like that. Tymer.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Matthew gets honey, badger, you get poodle. Yeah, yeah, honey,
it's a very good we'll go too far. We're going
too far. We need to talk about what's going on
in today's show, because it is a busy one, is
our last podcast before draft. J Bell Nice, We're going
to have to break that down with Jason and hear
all about strips that you know Northern Ireland as well

(02:09):
with the jag tag team this week, and we need
to ask you about all your experiences you know, with
the Jaguars on the field as well, any memories that
you've got playing Jacksonville in the NFL with you in
your playing days. Speaking of one of your former teams,
actually the Houston Texans, we have got to say farewell
to Andre Cisco's John Houston. We have a couple of
Texans incoming as well. We're going to wrap up free

(02:30):
agency as well, because it was a busy one of
course around the league. Of busy one for Jacksonville. We'll
have a look at the new faces in the Jags
camp and UK Jaggs fan Connor has the big question.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Now.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
We've got news out of Jack's UK HQ and we're
here a little on the Jags Girls Flags program from
GB Center and Jason's TV colleague as well, Phoebe Schechter,
the wonderful Phoebe Scheckter. So busy one today First of all,
Jason busy time over the last few weeks, tonly Biselli
got a new role as a new GM of course
in Jacksonville, a new head coach. I know, basically it

(03:01):
is your job to keep across the NFL all year
round and not being quiet and du vall thoughts on
the appointment.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Liam Cohen like it. New energy, new ideas. That's what
you need right now. It's all about your quarterback. Can
you get him to play at a high level. Can
you get an offense around him that shows his unique
ability and his skills. You got to showcase that and
that's what you're going after. That's why these offensive coordinators
get head coaching jobs, to come in to change things
and to stay.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
That's the key. So I like it right.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
You want a youth movement, you want a different kind
of approach, and that's what you should get. You saw
the success he had with Baker Mayfield and the kind
of person he was, so you know, coming in with Trevor,
Trevor's laid back, cool, but he wants to deliver.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
I think this relationship will work out well.

Speaker 5 (03:44):
Jaybud, you've spent some time with Trevor, do you do
you think bringing in Liam Cohen, do you think this
bodes well for that relationship and we're going to see
what Trevor can do.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
I think so.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
First of all, I'm a big Trevor Lawrence fan, not
only because of the time I spent with him, but
I watch him, watch who he is on the field
when he has overcome any obstacles. I like the way
he approaches it because I'm looking for my quarterback to
behave like that.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
So let's start there. But what I.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Want the new head coach, Liam Calm to do is
go dig through that tape and figure out what my
guy does well, where does he shine? And come in
and showcase that, put it up on tape and say, hey,
look at all these great plays you've made. We're gonna
build this around your strengths, and then the relationship starts there,
because that's what it's all about. If you got if
you're a play caller and you study your quarterback and

(04:35):
you know who they are, and they can look at
you and say, man, you've put in the time, you
put in the work, they will believe anything you say.
And that's the key, right You got to get this
relationship going and flowing fast. As possible so they can
get on the field and start dicing up defenses. And
this is the way it happens in the off season,
how they build this relationship.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
But I likes everything though, doesn't I mean, obviously you
know it comes September. But it affects everything now because
as you say, you need to look at Trevor Lawrence,
look at his skills set, look at what he needs
on the field as well in terms of personnel. So
it effects free agency, and of course it affects a draft.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Without a doubt.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
I mean, it all ties together because everybody's looking at
free agency to see does this make sense? Because our
Trevor goes, how this offense goes is how we win.
And a lot of guys you're either coming because you
want to win or you coming because you want to
get a check. So whatever the reason is, you are
on your way there. But when you're there, you're competitive,
you want to win. So change is good, right, that's

(05:26):
what you need. You need something and somebody to come
in and reenergize this organization and from top to bottom,
that's what they've done this all right.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Let's move on to let's move on to the draft.
The new general manager James Godstone. He's going to be
judged on what happens over the next few weeks, even
though he's gont been in a position, you know, for
what about a month something like that.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
So let's talk about what Jacksonville need to do.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
They've got ten picks in this draft, so it's the
second most in the whole of the league.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
What will new the new GM be thinking right now?
J Bell?

Speaker 4 (05:56):
First of all, this man has gotten let's be honest,
because he's had a study this entire roster. Now you're
well aware of the league and other teams, but you
got to go and look at everything. New coaching staff,
so you can't lean on them to tell you and
direct you. So you got to get in there and
say what do we.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Need, Who do we need?

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Who are we So those are some of the components
that he has to use to move forward. Now, there
are things they obviously have to fix, right. They got
to fix the defense. They got the defensive interior line, right,
you need help. You got guys on the outside that
can get there, but you need to push up the middle,
and you need another corner. Tyson Campbell, like his game
has to stay on the field.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
That is the key.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
But you're probably going to have to get another defensive
back so early in the draft. You're going to have
to get those questions answered. On the offensive line, they've
made some moves. Obviously, I think they need help at
the guard position. But the guard position is one you
can find people tackles harder. Gotta draft those and they're
gone early in the draft. But other ones, interior linemen
you can find so early in the draft, those picks.

(06:55):
If you don't trade, you're going to have to really
figure out and feel out who you can get on defense. Now,
one thing that's crazy. I've heard people talk about it,
and it would be interesting. It's all about what the
Patriots do, right, I mean, what if Travis Hunter drops
towards you? I mean, what in the world are you
kidding me? How exciting would that be? So this is

(07:16):
what the draft does. We're gonna have to see the
moves people make. But it's going to be interesting. And
unless they're gonna have to draft for the defense early
unless something falls in their lap.

Speaker 5 (07:27):
How much difference does James Gladstone being in the room
at the Rams and that experience make to potentially having
a successful draft this.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Season without a doubt.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
I mean experiences everything that matters, and especially when you
think about when come with the Rams, having to make
those picks later in the rounds, having to evaluate that talent,
not just leaning on hey we got a top pick. No,
their approach was we own we got low picks, and
we have to make sure these people fit the culture,

(07:56):
the standard. And that's another thing, right, you're plugging into
a new organization, what does that culture look like? You know,
you have to ask around the building where do we
need to improve? You know, talk to your leaders what
kind of players do you want in here? You know,
just their input could really significantly change your decision on
a guy if you're very close. It could be an
attitude thing, the way they approach the game, and that

(08:18):
could be the intel you need. So his ability to
kind of decipher levels of talent based on where his
former team had the draft is really going to be
an advantage.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I mean pukin Akua and Karen Williams is two really
good examples over the last you know, a couple of
years as well, James Guinson had such a you know,
a massive you know, saying drafting that were that were
lower draft picks. We'll go to a higher draft pick
now though, as we mentioned before, they Jacks hold the
fifth pick. Now look Travis Hunter's side, because I think
that that's exciting, you know, back.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
In Florida and all that.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
I mean, that's fun.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
It'd be really fun. I mean, it'd be really fun.
But you know they've got they've got a fifth pick.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
The players likely to be gone by that point, Abdul Carter,
the edge from Penn State, cam Ward the quarterback from Miami.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
We don't need to worry about a quarterback for obvious reasons.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
Why I'm talking quarterback, man, I'm gonna be good by
that point.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Travis Hunter as well, you know previously mentioned.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
I know you've mentioned position groups, but is there somebody
that you've got your eye on? You know, you know
that you think that the Jags might might snap up
Hunter's side.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Well, I'm thinking those two positions, and I like the
two kids out of Michigan. Graham defensive tackle and the
corner Will Johnson, Right, So I liked I watched Will
his movement skills and all that the guy can play. Uh,
that's what you need. You need another corner. So I'm
looking at those two. Now, one thing I know about
the draft, fellas, is you don't know what a team

(09:49):
is thinking. You don't know how they've evaluated a player.
I'm just going off of what I see where the
rankings have been all throughout the year. But I'm telling you,
they could see a person that just fits the role
just right, and all of a sudden they make that decision.
We see it every year. There's a surprise. I just
know those gaps need to be filled, and an interior

(10:10):
defensive lineman that's disruptive can take on blocks. You know,
if you can take on a double team, really that
frees up so much what you can do in the
back end.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Nobody talks about that.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
If I got a guy that takes two people to
block every down, then what does that do? It allows
me to play zone coverage in the back. Right, I'm
losing a person up front. So it's a key position.
It's quite important, especially when you got the defensive ends
coming off like they do on your team. So that's
why I think defensive tackle is the move they need
to make. They got to get a guy that's a

(10:40):
space eater, can stop the run. Like, don't forget all
the sacks and all that. It is important, but I
need a guy that can go upfield and stop the run.
And if you don't have two people four hands on
him every play, he's disrupting your entire offense.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Is there a must for the Jags? J Bell.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
The must is that they part their quarter and they
The must is that Trevor Lawrence wins. You know, I
know were talking about the draft and all that. But
the must is their quarterback feels confident in this offense
this year and plays well.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
That is a must. That is why this change has happened.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
But that is why ten picks, you know.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
To me, I feel kind of I feel positive about
that because it gives you the opportunity to trade up
if you need to. You're not necessarily in the first round,
but in later rounds, you know, and it also gives
the opportunity you know, you'll you'll you'll mention that protecting
the coolback do I'm not against like drafting multiple in
one position that you have, really that you really think
there's a need.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
At absolutely throw logs on the fire man, keep it burning.
That's the key, right, you got a problem and you
want to throw three or four guys on there, to
figure out. Figure it out. Think about the corner position.
I'm not saying one guy's the answer. You might drive
for one early and two more in the later rounds
and let them battle it out. I've seen it many
times with a guy in the lower round ends of

(11:53):
becoming the starter.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
This isn't new. I mean I didn't even get drafted.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
I was beating dudes out every single year, right unexpected.
You just got to put it out there where there
is competition, and that's exactly what this team needs. Competition.
So I think, you know, you go out there and
try to find a good tight end, maybe two of them,
who knows, But it's competition and these picks allow you
to have that. And the GM's philosophy on putting players

(12:19):
in those roles who will compete. That's the key. Are
you going to come in here and compete, man, Because
that's who we are. We're going to get better, and
we got to find guys that do all the dirty work.
Think about how those receivers blocked in La, the way
they approached the game. It was selflessness and that was
the key. That's why it worked. When they talk about
Pooper and Nikoua, when they talk about Cooper Cup. That's

(12:41):
who they were, So that's exactly what you're looking for.
Those are the kind of players you're trying to plug
in and think about all those young guys they had
on defense in LA that they found that came off.
Look at what Jared Versus done. So evaluating talent is
the key and throwing numbers at it man getting them
in the building, getting people to compete. And one thing
about young players is they don't know they're not supposed

(13:02):
to be good. They don't know they didn't they're getting
on the rosters. They're like, what am I not supposed
to ball?

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Like? What are we doing here?

Speaker 2 (13:09):
I'm hungry? Are you gonna be hungry at any point
in your career? That hungry? Right now?

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Actually thinking about a j Bell You know, we're going
to form in Houston, Texan on the show today. You know,
I don't know whether we should be considering ourselves judases
forgetting you want in the first place. Do you have
any memories of playing against the Jacksonville.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
First of all in the UK here I'm a part
of the family, all right, it was I mean Jacksonville's
commitment to the game internationally and what they've done here
and what I've seen here. I can only be on
Team Jacksonville because of that, right, So I'm all about that.
I put all that stuff aside back in the day,

(13:46):
because you're right. When I played for Houston, man, we
used to go at it. I don't know what it was,
but we hated each other. The games were aggressive, they
were fun, they were exciting. Every time we played. It
was a bad and I don't know how it started.
Because I was on the first team with the Houston Texans.
Tony Boselli was over there with me, also Aaron Glenn,

(14:08):
the head coach of the New York Jets. We were
in there, first people on the team first year, so
we had no history with Jacksonville. I don't know how
it occurred, but it was real. Every single game it
was blows man it man. Every time man Fred Taylor,
we would talk about what we had to do to

(14:29):
stop Freddy t and he found a way to break
through when mjd got over there.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
The whole nine it was tough and I love those games.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
Some of the best players I've ever played against, some
of the best receivers all that Jimmy Smith, Keena McCardell,
oh my goodness. Those dudes were so hard to cover,
so that's what it was. It was fun. I remember
I've played there many times, at least five six times
throughout my career, so it was fun.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
Man.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
You know you are one of the ambassadors for the
Jackers Foundation. You went to belle FoST this week as well,
was part of the jag Tag program. We'll hear about
that in a second from you. First, though, here is
your TV colleague on the Pundit so for GB Center
and play with the current IFAF European Flag Football champions
team GB Phoebe Schechter.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (15:15):
So today we are here in Belfast for a girls
event with the Jaguars.

Speaker 7 (15:19):
The Jaguars have been going into schools training.

Speaker 6 (15:22):
Up these amazing young people to be able to play,
and today is the competition.

Speaker 7 (15:27):
So that is why there's so much.

Speaker 6 (15:28):
Noise and ferocity happening in the background. But it's a
great opportunity for these girls to showcase their skills.

Speaker 7 (15:34):
They are so excited. I'm so excited.

Speaker 6 (15:36):
You've got jag extra time in the background. I mean,
it's just flag football everywhere we look. With flag football
coming up in the twenty twenty eight Olympics. There is
such a clear attainable option right because a lot of
people are so brand new to the sport. We're all
learning together. Where you look at a room like today
twenty twenty eight in la potentially twenty thirty two in Brisbane,

(15:59):
some of the girls that you have today are going
to be playing for their country in the Olympics, and
that is absolutely phenomenal. Even speaking with some of the
coaches and young leaders, they're trialing to play for Ireland
right now, a sport that they've never played before. They've
come from Gaelic football and now they've fallen in love
so much of flag football. You've got domestic level, then

(16:20):
you go into your international and then you've got the
absolute pinnacle of the sport in terms of the really
the Olympics, but also the European Championships later this year
for youth and for adults. I mean, the sky is
the limit when it comes to flag football. The Jaguars
have been so phenomenal as a team that has been
playing over here for thirteen years now and truly known

(16:42):
from the beginning they wanted to make a difference with
the youth, with the grassroots, and so you can see
that with how that's elevated, even with the scholarships that
are given. You know, it's not just here's an opportunity
to play, it's well, we can help you with the scholarship,
we can connect you with these people. It's that really
Holliss approach, which is what makes us say the Jaguars
so special, besides the fact they have gotten over one

(17:05):
hundred thousand kids into playing the sport of flag football.
It's amazing how it has been such an impactful movement
over these years and they've never relented to keep going
and making a difference in communities all across the UK
and Ireland.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Jason phoebe full of praise for the Jags on that
grossroots program.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
How was it, you know, tell us about the day.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
First of Law was amazing and I got to give
a shout out to Jags and what they've done in
this community event because it was the key man, Extra
time skills, all that Jag tag. It was fun and
the thing about it I love is that as soon
as I showed up, you just saw the kids, the
smiles on their face. Northern Ireland a place I call home,
love it, love the people. But it was all about

(17:50):
the commitment of the Jacksonville Jaguars organization that allowed it
to happen. And it's just a privilege to be around
because one thing about this game is it changed your
life because of what you can do and how much
fun you can have. You learn about yourself in competitive sports,
and that's what flag football does, you know, just going
out there and doing the extra skills, going through the drills.

(18:11):
You should see the joy on their face when they
catch the ball, the fun when they learn a new skill.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
And that's what it's all about.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
I fell in love with this game because of exposure
I had when I was young, and that's what they're delivering.
And as we know out here, it doesn't happen all
the time, but when you have somebody who's committed to it,
I mean, it takes time, it takes money, it takes dedication,
and you saw a lot of passion. Everybody working on
it had a smile on their face, and the kids

(18:38):
enjoyed every second of it.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
It got really competitive too at the end.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
You should have saw, man, all those kids, they started
off it was all cool, and at the.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
End they wanted to win.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
I mean, those girls in the tournament at the end
the championship, Oh my goodness. And then the mayor came
out there, and you know, I had to say what's
up to him, because you never know when you need
the mayor's number.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
You just don't.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
I'm out there all the time, so it's like, you
know what's going on here. So shout out to everybody
for making that happen. And he was enjoying himself. He
loved it so great event. I'm just a pleasure to
see it happening. And once again, I can't say it enough.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Man.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
I saw the people at jack Tag Extra going out there,
Gallagher with the sponsorship just Allline an effort it took,
and it's it was all for the greatness and the
good of the joy on those kids' faces.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Man, it was. It was unbelievable. I love it.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Jay Bell always trying to get the key to the city.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Amen. I got out a lot of traffic tickets back
in the day.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Yeah, Dave Bell, thanks so much for coming on to
talk mine. It's been a pleasure, all right, fellas lovely
mine that Jason, sorry, j Bell with friends with friends
like I can say that now.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
I can say that.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Now because I didn't want to assume I can just
go straight into j Bell.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
Oh no, you've got to ask.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
But you know, it's really good to hear from him,
good to get his you know, perception on the Jackson
and obviously what he's been was doing over the last
few days as well.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
Do you know what? He didn't say it, but I
was with him on quite a few of the jag
Tag extra time and Batha clinic days and he talks
and you can see him. He's happy to talk about it,
and he genuinely has passion for it. But when you
see him on those days when he's coaching the youngsters, honestly,

(20:24):
the way he comes alive, it's fantastic. Honestly, man, it's
fantastic to see. And he's a really good coach, really good.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Coach j Bell. Yeah, there we go.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Maybe maybe that's what we should call him now, all right,
coach Jay bet.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
No, it doesn't work as well, doesn't work as well.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
Let's do Duval dispatch his key just on the subject
of the draft as well. There's something special on the
grape Vine Jags related. That's all I know.

Speaker 5 (20:49):
That's all we can say.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Well, I know, you know, so I know. But apparently
there's something Special'll keep your eye on JAG's social.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
I always do, I always do, and it's always I.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Know we've spoken about the draft, but we do need
to speak about free agency because that was obviously a
massive thing. I know it seems like a few weeks
ago now, but it can't just be glussed over two
episodes exactly. The Jags have brought in nine new faces,
including a new veteran backup for Trevor. Lawrence said fel well,
of course, to some players that have been with the

(21:21):
Jags for you a.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Good few years.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
Just off the top of my head, Andre cisco Key,
Christian Kirk has been traded, Evan Ingram released, Mitch Moore
is retired as well. What your like favorite Army Ronald Darby?
Of course, well you know what your favorite memories of
some of those players?

Speaker 5 (21:40):
Do you know what? I worked with quite a few
of those names. I was very fortunate too. I will
miss Evan Ingram's side.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
I am gutted last year, he said to us, he
has got his celebration all sorted. But if he scores
a touchdown at Wembley, was he injured for the game
or did he just not score a touchdown. He just
come off an injury maybe, and so we'll never find
out what it is.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
I mean, he had he had a good game, but
I think it was Peter Crown. We all know it was.
It was Peter Crouch. It would have been Peter Crouch. Yeah,
but fortunately I've invested in some AI software and we
shall be seeing it on that. I'll miss the fact
that we won't get another Evan Ingram celebration. And Christian

(22:29):
Kirk is a lovely, lovely man wishing all the best
at the Texans, well not really.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
Evan Ingram and Christian Kirk obviously two big targets for
Trevor Lawrence. So unsurprisingly in free agency they have brought
the Jags have brought in somebody else to catch the
All two tight ends have joined, though I suspect that
both of those tight ends are going to be used
more for blocking than catching the ball.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
We'll go on, you've got a face.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
I mean they are blocking type and exactly.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Yeah, but there has been a ass catcher, Jeremy Brown
from the Washington Commanders, who had an excellent postseason. I
mean the Commander is obviously the next and post season,
but he had particularly an excellent postseason, so it'll be
amazing to see, you know, can he build on that
in the regular season with the Jags. So the wide

(23:22):
receiver unit at the moment, obviously, we've got I mate
Brian Thomas Jr.

Speaker 5 (23:28):
Highlights video on YouTube that we've got up on the
jaguarsh uk YouTube channel, all of Brian Tomins juniors highlights
from the season. Go and check it out. Sorry he said, Brian.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Is it like one hundred minutes long?

Speaker 5 (23:39):
It's just basically every game.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
Every game, every game, and Parker as well. So good
wide receiver unit. I wonder if they'll be looking at
you know, looking at the draft for that or if
they're going to focus on other particular units. But Nick
Mullins has come in as well as the backup to
Trevor Lawrence, the veteran. Of course, Nick Mullins spent some
time with the Eagles, spend some time with the Vikings,
as well as Jacksonville's own Mac.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Mac Jones is no longer with the Jacksonville Jaguars. So
what do you think about those editions?

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Kick?

Speaker 5 (24:11):
I like it, do you know what specific socide? I
actually like bringing Nick Mullins in, but specific aside. My
favorite thing about all of this is the amount of change,
because I think Jabo said it earlier. I think change
is good. I think a lot of progress needs to
be made, and I think it's already being made. And

(24:33):
I think new front of our staff are coming in
and making their mark, and I think that is as
important as the specifics as to what's happening. And I
think that's really important. And something else that James Gladston said,
which was that the young players making the older players
feel like maybe they're in the way. I really love that,
and I think there's been a few examples of players

(24:54):
that are coming in that are a sign of that.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Jordan Lewis from Dallas and nickel Back is joined Eric
Murray the safety. The offensive line actually is going to
be interesting. I think, hey, this new center has been
brought in, as I said, Mitch Morss has retired Robert
Hainesy from the Bucks, Patrick McCarry from Baltimore as well
Fred Johnson and Tumaaduga, So it looks like the offensive
line can have a little bit of a shake up.

(25:17):
And that's of course before the draft as well.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Well.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
We've talked about it quite a bit right, both sides
of the ball. The trenches have needed some attention, and
that work has already started, and I think that's a
fantastic thing. I'm sure it will continue to happen during
the draft as well.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
This is all change, It's all change. It is exciting.
I think the draft is maybe my favorite night of
the year as well, my favorite NFL night of the year.

Speaker 5 (25:47):
Oh, favorite NFL night. I was going to say, Halloween's
pretty special.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Christmas it's just great. Christmas, Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve is great. Okay,
you love the draft that much? I love it.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
I love the draft. Do you know what I actually
I don't stay up. I'll be honest with you. What
I do is I watch it back without knowing anything.
So I don't check online, so I don't know. It
depends what I'm doing the next day obviously, because sometimes,
you know, I can wake up in the morning just
turn it on with my breakfast and watch all three hours.
I think that's the best way to do it personally,

(26:18):
because it means that like you still get that same
feeling of they drafted who, or like you know, something
like that, like last year when the Falcons drafted the quarterback.
I was having a breakfast and I was like, what
is going on right now? So something like that I
think is a really good way of doing it if
you don't want to stay up, you know, which I
think is understandable. Okay, next up until talk the Big.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Question. God we've got a Crawford.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
You're an idiot, all right?

Speaker 2 (26:53):
Signed for the Big Question?

Speaker 1 (26:55):
A question set to myself and key from a big
Jacksonville Jaguars fan around the UK and Ireland this time around.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
Hello to Connor.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
Good.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
What is the big question?

Speaker 8 (27:07):
So big question for you guys when the jokes come
over to UK? What's your favorite part?

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Is it?

Speaker 8 (27:13):
Things like open practice, player signings, game day, what kind
of thing?

Speaker 9 (27:16):
What's your favorite?

Speaker 2 (27:17):
That's a really good question. Yeah, do you know what?
It's good as well?

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Because obviously it's it's about halfway between the last game
and the next game. So it's nice just to use
this moment to to like breathe it in.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
Do you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Reminisce or most key anything. You're so busy key during
that time, so you've got to have a few few
good answers.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
Yeah, I mean the last few years, it's been two
weeks pretty NonStop. Oh man, do you know what? I
love this question? Connor? I think, can we make this
this episode of the podcast three hours long so that
I can just go into detail.

Speaker 9 (27:51):
Let's keep it.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
I'm do you know what? I'm going to pick two things.
My first and foremost is seeing all the fans. Love
seeing the regular phases. I love seeing the new faces.
And I love the fact that we get so many
fans from the UK, but then fans from all over
Europe come, fans from all over the world come to

(28:15):
see the Jags play. That's my first thing is catching
up with fans. Seeing the amount of fans, the amount
of effort fans put in throughout the week I think
is fantastic. And the fact that the fans get to
interact with the players and the Jaguar's staff from the
UK like JP right. So that's my first one is

(28:36):
that it feels like it feels like a family is
hanging out for the week. That's my first one. Secondly,
there's something very very special about the Jaguars running out
onto the field at Wembley. It feels magic. It feels
magical And do you know what I've loved seeing them

(28:58):
play at Spurs over the years, but it's not the
same when the Jaguars run out onto the field at Wembley,
it is very very special and we've seen it how
many times now, like how many times at Wembley eleven?
I think it is whatever, and still every time it's
so special and I get tingles every time. So those
would be my two.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
I think mine is mine is just open practice, I
think because the games are great, don't get me wrong,
they're amazing, but there's something really special about just being
able to stand there and feel and being quite privileged
position on obviously as well. I just feel like, oh,
this is just like you don't get to see this
every day, and you know, not all NFL fans get

(29:37):
to do this, you know whatsoever, just be able to
just watch, you know, these superstars essentially just practicing. And
it's also it's also almost the start of it as well,
not the start of like you know, NFL action at all,
but you know that you've got the game coming up
as well. You know, it's not as if like it's

(29:59):
this and done. It's like, oh, I can't wait. Is
the anticipation. It's like Christmas Eve is better than Christmas Day?

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Do you know what I mean. Yeah, does that make sense?

Speaker 3 (30:08):
Connor? What about you?

Speaker 9 (30:09):
So again, love a game day, don't get me wrong.

Speaker 8 (30:12):
Like the atmosphere, the crowd, like everything behind it is great.
But for me it's o from practice because we get
to meet up with friends as well, so we've got
quite a close knit community with them. Jags all help
each other get tickets things like that as well, and
so we all get to catch up and go and
watch our team. But also for the past couple of years,
I've managed to take my kids with me as well,

(30:33):
so for them to get to watch it, meet the
players and stuff like that. My daughter's got a special
connection with Josh eines Allen to the point where last
year she made a bottle for him, so she gave
him a bottle with his name and number on that
she colored in and things like that, because I do
that as a job, so for her, great you to
give him something. So for me, it's like that special
connection of meeting the players and that personal connection, but

(30:56):
also hanging out friends there as well.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
Really it's like a big community thing. He's like, yeah,
this is an amazing atmosphere, isn't it.

Speaker 8 (31:03):
Yeah, exactly, And as I say, you get to catch
up with the guys that don't see very often because
we're from all parts of the UK. It's nice to
kind of get together and actually meet up because even
on game day he just sat in different seats and
things like that.

Speaker 5 (31:16):
Speaking of which, God to talk us through the T shirt.

Speaker 8 (31:21):
Jamie up there, so he's probably going to kill me
for it. But obviously, as you guys mentioned the other week,
he became International Friend of the Year, so we there
was ten of us that met up in Nottingham's going
watch the ice hockey the other week and we surprised
him by all wearing.

Speaker 9 (31:37):
The T shirt with his face on. So yeah, he
wasn't best pleased with it.

Speaker 8 (31:41):
He doesn't like seeing it, but we've got them, so
we've got a couple of guys in the States now
that have them as well, So yeah, for him, it's great,
but he doesn't like it, so we're going to post
it everywhere.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
So Jamie obviously is going to be going to the
NFL Draft in a few weeks time as well. Are
you saying that there is a small chance that he's
going to be wearing a T shirt with his own
face on it?

Speaker 8 (32:02):
However, the person that he has taken does have one
of these, and has prompted that he will be taking it.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
There is that.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
It brings me so much joy to think, you know,
watching the draft in your living room, you see Jamie
it's Jamie. Yeah, and you see Jamie's Jamie's face on
a T shirt right right next to as well.

Speaker 8 (32:24):
Get to all the Jags fans like in the group
when you're at the draft, every single one of them
wearing it or something like that, be really cool.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
I think everyone that attends this year's Wendy Game should
begin one of these.

Speaker 9 (32:35):
If you know the person, get me in there and
get some T shirts.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
How did you ever become a Jags fan? Connor?

Speaker 8 (32:41):
Back when I was younger, my name used to live
over in Tampa. I used to go out there and
she was a Bucks fan, So I always grown up
around NFL kind of thing. Take it on a few years.
I then decided that I wanted to pick my own team,
and I saw that Jags would coming to the UK,
so I got to go and see a game every year.

Speaker 9 (32:58):
So for me, that was broke.

Speaker 8 (33:00):
Started twenty seventeen games, my first UK game, so when
we went absolutely smashed the Ravens, which was lovely and
a game I'll never forget. But yeah, so that's where
it all began, and that's when Jags became my team.

Speaker 5 (33:12):
What a great first game to become a Jags.

Speaker 9 (33:17):
To store forty four points was incredible.

Speaker 5 (33:20):
Do you know what that was? I just started working
for the NFL then, and that was the first game
that I worked at. So I'd been to all of
the games before that, but that Jags Ravens game was
the first one that I worked up and it was
mind blow like, what an atmosphere, what a unexpected performance.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
That's what I remember the Jags. That was such a
good well.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
I remember going into the game and saying to my mate,
I'm not sure if Jags have much of a chance
to chance in this game, And then afterwards he was like,
you don't really know anything, do your No? No, I
know nothing, I know absolutely nothing.

Speaker 5 (33:55):
It's your career in the NFL game.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Draft obviously coming out. I mean we just made mention
it in with Connor. Are you gonna be staying up
all night for it? Are you gonna be watching it back?
Or what's your what do you do?

Speaker 2 (34:06):
Every every time.

Speaker 9 (34:07):
I've obviously seen the draft.

Speaker 8 (34:09):
I don't really follow college football side of things, but
I stay up. I kind of watch the first few
picks and stuff like that. Obviously, with Jamie being on
this year, it's probably going to be staying up a
bit more than that obviously, just supporting a friend things
like that as well. And he'll be messaging in the
group chat anyway, so it's going to keep us awake
with that.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Let's be real, any any like particular players or any
particular like you know, player groups that you would like
to see the Jags go with the fifth overall.

Speaker 8 (34:35):
In all honesty, the way that Cohen's going, I can
see anything happening just because there's been so much change.
I can't personally I can put a definition on where
he's going to go just because of how much change
has been.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Yeah, I don't know, really, has anyone ever told you
that you've got a Liam Cohen esque vine.

Speaker 9 (34:53):
There is a bit of a bet going on with
the guys.

Speaker 8 (34:56):
If Jags have a winning record by the time London
game's come around, then I am going to shave this
down and.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Get Yes, that is brilliant And do you know what's
so good about that?

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Connor?

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Is that we'll put it in the diary and if if,
when the Jags have a winning record by the London game,
I mean, we've got to get you back on. We've
got to get you back up as absolutely. Connor, thanks
so much, man, I appreciate it. And you know what,
I know that you've done. You've done a video, haven't

(35:28):
you to say congratulations to Jamie for being International Fan
of the Year. So I just want to say what
an amazing thing to do as a friend, So well
done to you for doing it.

Speaker 9 (35:36):
Yeah, yeah, it was just something for him.

Speaker 8 (35:38):
He helps a lot of people here over in the
UK and a lot of friends and obviously players and
stuff that recognize it as well. So it's something for
him just to give back to him. Because when you
do something for others, you don't realize how much you
do for others. So it's kind of.

Speaker 9 (35:53):
Something to give back to him.

Speaker 8 (35:55):
So again I appreciate you guys helping out doing a
video for him as well. And then that's kind of
gone together on a six and a half minute video
from players and family and friends.

Speaker 5 (36:04):
We're all doing a video for you now to say
thank you for making the video for Jamie as well,
and then so.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
Then on and keep it going. Cond of thanks so
much for coming until talk man, really appreciate it.

Speaker 9 (36:21):
Been a pleasure.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Thank you to appreciate that.

Speaker 5 (36:23):
That was a life that's excellent.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Thank you very much to Connor Crawford. And the big.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Question the fact that there's a there looks like there's
going to be a good chance that he's going to
be dressed up as Liam Cohen at Wembley Stadium, and
that he's just agreed to.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
I'm not doing it.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
I'm too scared, but Key shaving shaving the beard off
around that time.

Speaker 5 (36:47):
So I want to see him as Liam Cohen. And
two I don't want any other beards on this podcast.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
I had a nice beach in this morning. Next time,
shall I just grow it out between now and then
and just that I'm.

Speaker 5 (36:59):
Not what I'm dave together.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
Yeah, yeah, I'll just keep the beard until October and
just keep it going, just keep it going. We're going
to be back at the end of April around the Draft, which,
as I said earlier, is one of my favorite NFL
nights of the year. So it's really exciting. It's massive
for every NFL team, of course, it's going to be
massive for the Jacksonville Jaguars as well.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
Do you stay up for it?

Speaker 5 (37:25):
Key, I will stay up until nine thirty pm.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
So that's that is absolutely n I'll see it nine pm.
That was several hours out from it even starting.

Speaker 5 (37:35):
Key, No, No, dude. What will happen is I'll do
something similar to you where I will avoid everything and
then watch. There'll be a bit of fast forwarding, but yeah,
I won't watch the whole thing, but yeah, I'll watch it.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
You can't fast forward because the drama happens in the
trades and everything happens in between picks. No, all right, Well,
the good thing is is obviously the Jags pick fifth,
so if they stay with that pick.

Speaker 5 (37:58):
If someone did where it just went at number four,
at number five, name, I'd watch that.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
The boring boring.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
You need to get into the spirit of it, all right.
So we're gonna be back at the end of April.
Just the facts around the draft. This has been a
shooting sharp production for Jacksonville Jaguars in the UK and
Ireland in partnership with the Gallagher Go and subscribe on
your podcast on the YouTube everywhere and we'll see you
around draft time.
