It's Group Therapy Thursday!
Dear Ted and Amy,
My son is getting married and the RSVPs are starting to come in. The guest list ended up being larger than we expected (as they always seem to be) but we definitely pared down the list and we had to eliminate some of our potential list because of the cost. We put a lot of thought into who to include and feel bad we couldn’t invite everyone. Because of this, we didn’t include plus ones for single guests that were not in long term relationships with people we had met. Also, nobody was invited that wouldn’t know other people there. As people are responding, we are getting a surprising number of people asking if they can bring a plus one. I know we can say no, but it seems a bit rude for them to ask and creates an awkward situation to have to say no. Is this a common occurrence now?
Signed,
Starting to Stress in Solvay
