Tune in here to this Wednesday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show!

Brett kicks off the program by talking about a breaking and unsettling situation in Washington, D.C., where two National Guard troops were shot near the Farragut area, roughly a mile from the White House. He emphasizes how little confirmed information is available, noting that the incident occurred within the last hour and that the condition of the troops remains unknown.

As reports rapidly shift, Brett stresses the importance of verifying details—such as claims that a suspect is already in custody—before drawing conclusions. He highlights the broader climate of hostility toward the National Guard and other military personnel, expressing concern that the troops may have been targeted. Brett also points out that President Biden, though not in Washington, has been briefed on the situation. Throughout the segment, he calls on listeners to pray for the wounded service members and reflects on the troubling violence affecting cities across the country.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
News Talk eleven ten and ninety nine three WBT. All right,
so we're still monitoring what's going on coming out of Washington,
d C. The latest is two of these two of
these folks were shot. Apparently, the reporting is that the

(00:34):
attacker was also shot. We don't know the condition of
any of the people, and we are going to continue
to monitor this between now and six o'clock tonight. Everything
is fair game because you know, we're talking about all
the stuff that's happening in real time, but we're also
looking at another line of stories as well. Seven oh

(00:56):
four five, seven zero, eleven ten, if you if you'd
like to weigh in and check in on this. We
are going to keep an eye on on the on
the developments here. The guardsmen were engaged in gunfire with
the suspect before being shot, that is per CNN. So
obviously this is somebody who decided he was going to

(01:18):
shoot at the guardsmen and they were engaged in gunfire
with the suspect before being shot. So now this this
sort of picture is starting to clarify a little bit,
and we will continue to keep an eye here. John
Millers is over on CNN and he's he's breaking down

(01:39):
some of this information and we will do our best
to to to see this. By the way, FYI, let's
let's just take a look at that the Vice President
Vance is going to make remarks on the shooting in DC.
We'll keep an eye on that and effort that to
you as well. We certainly, as I said earlier, we

(02:00):
want people to pray for these for these folks who
had been wounded in this gun battle. I guess is
what it sounds like. But unfortunately, you've got people who
do not respect, who do not respect the people who
do the hard work to protect the United States of America.

(02:20):
And this is cut number thirty four. This is a
very disturbing story that comes out of Brownsville in Texas.
Get a load of this cut number thirty four. Please First, at.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Five, a federal employee charged with terrorism. She is accused
of sharing the name of a federal agent with someone
who made a threat against them.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Thank you for joining us.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
At five, I'm Christinel von Hovey is off today. We
learned of Karen de Viann's arrest just within the last
twenty minutes.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
The Cameron County.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
DA's office says she revealed the agent's name on a
social media live stream. The stream was part of a
federal law enforcement operation. In June, another man reportedly made
a death threat toward one of the agents in the
live stream that is who she allegedly gave the agent's
name too. The DA's office says de Lyon is an

(03:13):
employee at the United States Attorney's Office in Brownsville. She
is charged with terrorism and tempering with evidence.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
So when you think about what you just heard, it's
pretty shocking. But it's the same sort of storyline time
and time again. We have got damaged units in this
country who want to go after law enforcement, who want
to go after people who are keeping us safe. And

(03:45):
it's a shame. It's a shame that we have to
put up with the criminality as it is. This is unacceptable,
absolutely unacceptable, and you know, watch the narrative is going
to change. They will not focus on the guy who

(04:07):
is shot, who is apparently the perpetrator of this, because
they will they will figure out a reason to not
tell you everything about this person, and they will turn
this on the the guardsmen uh as as being you know,
they maybe they shouldn't have firearms with them. Why shouldn't

(04:30):
they have firearms. You know, these these progressives, these people,
they these they always want to try to they want
to try to flip the script. President Trump says. Both
guardsmen are critically wounded and the suspect is also severely wounded.

(04:53):
So what we have here, potentially it may be, you know,
maybe maybe sudden terrorism and drome where somebody decided that
they wanted to do something against the United States military.
Maybe that's what the motivation is going to be. Maybe
they're getting hyped up because of all of the ugly

(05:14):
sort of comments that are coming out of out of
the progressive caucuses and things like that. I mean, to me,
I don't understand why a person would want to stand
up in the middle of Washington, DC, where you're not
supposed to have a firearm, and they want to shoot

(05:37):
it out with guardsmen. Okay, that's kind of weird, isn't it.
We were told that you're not supposed to have firearms
in Washington, d C. News Talk eleven ten nine nine
three WBT are continuing coverage of what has taken place

(06:00):
down in Washington, d C. A two National guardsmen shot
near the White House. Police say there's a suspect in custody.
I saw an image of a person that was being
put onto an ambulance and it did not look like
this guy was a was a member of the National Guard.

(06:23):
It looked like this may be the person who was
responsible for this. Unfortunately, there's been a lot of ugliness
over the last number of months. And let's be honest
about this. There are people who are grousing about the troops.
There are people like the like the the Crazy six

(06:46):
who has been, you know, calling out these troops to
to not follow certain orders. I mean, this is this
is a really dangerous thing. And on top of that,
what do you see. You see people here in Charlotte,
you see people in chicag Go, you see people in Memphis,
you see people in all these different communities, and you
see them disrespecting law enforcement, disrespecting troops, all that sort

(07:13):
of stuff. It's despicable, it's disgusting. But the crazy DEAs
came out early last week and decided that they were
going to try to separate the good order that is
necessary for people. And this is a real problem. And
so now as a consequence, what do we have. We

(07:34):
have two Washington d C heroes who unfortunately got shot
today because they're trying to protect the homeland. And so,
you know, you think about what Kelly has said, and
you think about you know, slot Nick has said, and

(07:54):
all these people they wanted to gin this up. Well
they did it. They did it. And I'm telling you
right now, I fear for what may come next because
of what these people have done. I'm not trying to
be you know, insane about this, but the fact is,
this is a problem. So let's give it context. And

(08:15):
it's not necessarily directly connected to what's going on in Washington,
d C. But there is a lot of disrespect for
law enforcement, and there is a big high kind of
desire to see law enforcement not succeed, especially on the streets,
especially in the cities, especially when it comes to you know,

(08:38):
deportations and stuff like that. Frank Luntz, I think he
sums this up very very well. This is cut number twenty.
This is on c SPAN, and he is getting, you know,
harangued by the anchor on the idea of what the
military is supposed to do. Cut number twenty go.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
I want to ask you about the recent video by
Democratic lawmakers urging troops to not obey illegal orders. First,
what was your reaction to that, And if you saw
any reaction among the cadets at West Point that you
work with.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Well, that's politics, and West Point does not do politics,
does not do partisanship. Partisanship, My first reaction was, why
the hell did you put this video out? I know
you're trying to pulk at him. Of course, you don't
obey an illegal order. Of course, there are standards and
processes that our military has followed, not just for decades,

(09:40):
but for centuries. That's a given. You're doing this just
to create a political issue, and shame on you, because
there are men and women who are serving in Japan
and Korea, all over the globe, in the Middle East,
in other Asian countries, and this is Thanksgiving and they're
not home, and they're sacrificing for this country and you're

(10:03):
playing politics. At this point, we're going.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
To talk about Thanksgiving. But the reaction from the Pentagon
was to investigate Senator Mark Kelly, a twenty five year
veteran of the Navy, by bringing him back, reactivating him
so that he could be court martialed pending the investigation.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Of course, why are we doing this?

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Just stop.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
There's a word that I've used now and I've been
studying is to try to figure out what that language is.
And it's very simple. One word, enough, all caps, exclamation points, enough,
enough of the commentary, enough of the divisiveness. The military
is not a political organization. It's not a mouthpiece and

(10:48):
should not be dragged into politics. Stop doing this, and
it's happening on both sides. You got to cut it
out because that you asked me at the beginning of this,
what is a breaking point? That's a breaking point? Thank god.
The generals and the admirals and the people who serve
us don't play politics. Thank god, they keep quiet. That's

(11:09):
what's different between this.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Many of those admirals and generals have been purged by
this administration, by this pentagon. Are you concerned about that?
And that the new people coming in. We had a
caller say, look, the new people are not loyal to
the Constitution, They're loyal to President Trump.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
That caller doesn't know. And one of the things I've
learned is humility to acknowledge what I don't know. We
have to assume that they're being chosen because of their capability.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
This is what.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
Concerns me from my lifetime and it's been a long one. Now,
there's never been any hint. Generalists will talk after their service,
but there's never been any politicization and no one and
that is a capital N capital O. No one should

(12:07):
bring politics into the military because that is our last
best line of defense.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
And unfortunately we're seeing troops targeted. Think about the rhetoric
that's been coming from the left if you're just joining us.
Multiple National Guard troops have been shot near the White
House in Washington, DC. The White House went into lockdown

(12:37):
as emergency crews and Secret Service responded. DC police now
confirm the scene is secure and the suspect is in custody.
The conditions of the injured guardsmen are not yet known.
This is a problem. The Color Revolution is happening. Democrats

(12:58):
declared the lawful deployment of the National Guard in DC
as an illegal order. Remember that's what we have been
hearing about for almost a week. Moments later, a shooter
opens fire on the troops near the White House. I mean,
this is something, this is something that is beyond the pale,

(13:20):
and Frank Luntz is exactly right. But I mean, I
can give you chapter in verse. How many times have
you seen these people being assaulted, who are trying to
arrest people who shouldn't be in the United States. Cut
number thirty four, if you would cut number thirty four,

(13:41):
This is a very important thing to kind of digest

(14:02):
News Talk eleven ten and ninet nine to three WBT.
All right, so we're still monitoring what's going on coming

First, at five, a federal employee charged with terrorism. She

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Thank you for joining us at five. I'm Christine al von.

(19:33):
isn't it. We were told that you're not supposed to
have firearms in Washington, d C News Talk eleven ten,
not nine to three WBT. It is the Brettwitterer Bull Show.
It is good to be with you. And you know,

(19:54):
some of the things that are sort of falling into
place are It's interesting because you see the narrati of
starts to take root, and you know, you sit back
and you say to yourself, Okay, what is the purpose
for going and shooting at a person who is serving
in the in the National Guard? Like why why would

(20:16):
somebody do it? I had somebody who just gave me
a supposition of saying, well, maybe this was a domestic
violence attack. Just see, it just doesn't stand up to this, Okay.
For the last eight months, nine months, ten months, people

(20:38):
have been getting ginned up and deciding that they want
to go and try to play games and do you know,
reprehensible things, and you've got the some people are calling
them the seditious six. I don't want to call them that,
but these folks, these folks, they forecasted, they forecasted a

(21:02):
lot of this sort of stuff. And and and when
you think about what's happening here, I mean, my gosh,
it's only a matter of time. You keep you keep
talking about you know, Tom Holman's a Nazi fascist, Steve
Miller's a Nazi fascist. All of these people are Nazis

(21:23):
and fascists and all this sort of stuff. This is despicable,
This is terrible. We don't want to see people shooting
in the nation's capital. And by the way, it was
a they were safe there for a period of time,
and unfortunately you have a group of people that want
to go in there and suddenly be be what they are,

(21:46):
which is horrible, okay, which which is absolutely terrible. So
somebody was asking me who who was involved in this?
There's three males, is what it looks at is what
it looks like. It looks like it's three males that
are involved, two National Guard troops and a shooter who

(22:08):
shot at them first. By the way, at the subway station.
Do you know how many people could have gotten shot,
could have gotten killed in that regard? That's terrible, that
is dangerous. That is not anything that we need to
be uh doing. And yet and yet there will be

(22:33):
the amen. There will be the amen chorus coming in
at some point in the in the development here, they'll
say well, you know that they shouldn't have been there.
Then no, no, no, no, no, no, we're not going
to We're not going to entertain that particular take because
this is this is something that is that is that

(22:54):
is very much on brand. Benny Johnson posted posted this,
and I think it's very interesting. Recently CNN compared the
National Guard troops to Nazis creating military units to watch
the people. Reminds me of Germany in the nineteen thirties.

(23:17):
That's Major General Randy Manner talking to CNN. Sure that's
not that, there's no harm, no foul with that, right.
Two troops were just shot near the White House. This
is the direct result of a lot of this rhetoric
that's coming around here. Folks. You're comparing this guy's a

(23:39):
major general, comparing the National Guard the Nazis. You see,
words mean things, words absolutely mean things, and we've got
to take this rhetoric down. Unfortunately, there is nobody who
wants to be a part of that. They do not

(24:00):
want this to be something that they can't exploit, and
unfortunately this is what's happened. This is Thanksgiving, It's the
eve of Thanksgiving where we're supposed to be grateful for
the greatest country that has ever existed, and suddenly a

(24:24):
maniac decides he wants to go and shoot National Guard
troops in the nation's capital. Now, I'm willing to, I'm
willing to, I'm willing to take it from all all
all of you guys. You want to you want to
call in, and you want to opine and and you
want to look at this sort of stuff. There is
absolutely no justification for shooting the National Guard. None, zero.

(24:47):
There there is no scenario in which I want to see.
And and there's an image that is uh that is
being uh circulated on on on X where you see
two folks tending to one man who's down on the

(25:07):
ground and he's a National Guard person. This is horrific.
This is horrific. And you know you've been warned. Fox
is reporting now that both of the guards are dead.

(25:34):
What are you people going to do? What are we
going to do? So now we have families destroyed on
the eve of Thanksgiving. But the troops are the problem.
Remember that when you see General you know, mister Kelly

(25:55):
running around, when you see Elisa Slotkin running around, just
remember remember the troops are the problem. The troops are
the problem. The troops are the problem. You know what's
gonna happen. This perpetrator will probably get the best possible healthcare,

(26:15):
the best possible treatment, and he'll go on trial and
some whack job will say, listen, listen, he he doesn't
deserve to be put away forever.

Speaker 5 (26:31):
What is this?

Speaker 1 (26:35):
These people who were part of the National Guard volunteered
for the job. They decided they wanted to be part
of making the country safer. And what do they get
for that? The families get a broken heart. And you're
gonna see, watch, watch how ugly this gets among the

(26:58):
cable channels, all this sort of stuff. This is a
big problem. These are citizens of the republic, and these
are people who were doing the best that they could
to protect the community in Washington, d C. And unfortunately,

(27:21):
we had two wonderful young people killed today in Washington,
d C. It is terrible. The West Virginia governor says
that the two guardsmen have died after shooting in Washington,
d C. The suspect is alive and in custody. Where's

(27:44):
the justice? Where is the justice? Where is the decency?
All we can do at this stage now is to
pray for the repose of these two heroes and hope
that we never have to see this again. But unfortunately,

(28:09):
the way the Congress and the Senate, it's all ginned up.
It's a horrible situation. Nobody should have been killed today
and now families have been destroyed. News Talk eleven ten

(28:35):
nine three, WBT seven four five seven zero eleven ten.
A lot of people opining about what just has taken
place in the last hour and a half. Unfortunately, we
have a we have two people who lost their lives
in trying to protect the city of Washington, d C.

(28:57):
West Virginia Guardsmen have been confirmed dead at for horrific
DC shooting. It's hard for me to not well, it's
hard for me to ignore the rhetoric that has come down.
And all you have to do is go on X
and look at the stuff that's been said about the

(29:18):
about the folks who are trying to protect the communities
in all of these cities. And this is something that
you hate to see any time, but on the eve
of Thanksgiving where these two National guardsmen were shot dead

(29:41):
in Washington, d C. Just blocks from the White House.
And I got to be honest with you, I'm getting
I'm getting some very nasty commentary coming about all of this,
and to me, I just sit back and I say, okay,

(30:03):
so we lost two National guardsmen. These are people typically
who are on the younger side, who are out there
doing their their their best, and it's it's a real
shame to see how this has come to pass. Washington,
DC was thrust into the chaos today before Thanksgiving when

(30:25):
two National Guard members were shot and critically wounded, and
they've now passed away. The governor of West Virginia, Governor
Patrick Morrissey said, it is with great sorrow that we
can confirm both members of the West Virginia National Guard
who were shot early today in Washington, d C. Have

(30:46):
passed away from their injuries. These brave West Virginians lost
their lives in the service of the country. We are
in ongoing contact with the law enforcement folks. The federal
investigation continues. We are going to take the feed once

(31:09):
there's a briefing that starts. Our entire state grieves with
their families. This is continuing, Patrick Morrissey. Their loved ones
and the Guard community West Virginia will never forget their
service or their sacrifice, and we will demand full accountability
for this horrific act. I want to play one clip

(31:34):
that I think is illustrative of the rhetoric that's been
going on. And this is something that was said last week,
not this week, but last week towards the end of
the week. And this is Alyssa Slotkin, who by all
account seems to be a reasonable person until she gets

(31:56):
on CNN and says this, these videos.

Speaker 7 (32:02):
Coming out of places like Chicago, it makes me incredibly
nervous that we're about to see people in law enforcement,
people in uniform military, get nervous, get stressed, shoot at
American civilians. It is very a very very stressful situation
for these law enforcement and for the communities on the ground.
So it was basically a warning to say, like, if

(32:24):
you're asked to do something, particularly against American.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
Citizens, wow, that's interesting. What happens when the troops are shot.
We've seen this, We've seen this. We remember what happened
at Fort Hood, we remember what happened at a variety

(32:47):
of locations in the bad old days of the Obama
Biden administration. I mean, we remember all of these attacks
that were happening. And remember it was the Biden administration.
With Barack Obama, who famously said that that was workplace
violence at Fort Hood. The enemy is here. They want

(33:11):
to do damage to this republic, and one has to
wonder these two young people who lost their life today,
what's next, Yankee Joe, Welcome to the show. What's on
your mind? Yankee Joe Brett.

Speaker 5 (33:31):
You know, I don't want to be the very bad news.
But the thing is, I thought I was gonna be
talking about Captain Kelly, and the thing is, it's very difficult.
Thank you Brett, by the way, Yes, it's very difficult
to bring men on deployments and have them follow orders.
Everybody has situations. And the thing is is that Captain

(33:51):
Kelly should know better, and there's certain things that senior
officers should be treated as and having friends on the inside, so,
you know, just because Trump's in the office, just don't
think that all these guys are just because you know,
Biden's off the wall or Obama's off the wall. They
don't stay on the losers. So but the point is
is that he knows better as a senior officer, and
yet he does it. You know how difficult it is

(34:12):
to get men to go on deployment. Yeah, the orders.
But you your kids got loose, got problems, You got problems,
I got problems, Mike going to you got all types
of things going on besides the point before you leave,
and you made it that as a senior officer, he
made it that much more difficult to divide America that
much more difficult. And as a senior officer, Yeah, he

(34:34):
should put his backside in uniforms. His uniform form should
be on right now. And you know what, I'm talking
back to the San Diego does what should be done
to him, because there's no excuse for that. I still
fall in the u CMJ because I'm retired and the
things that he just made it and with this shooting here,
what are they gonna say, now, I don't know you
are anti American actor. I copped this and he wore

(34:54):
the uniform And I don't want to talk about what
he did is fit reps and things like that, because
I'm pretty sure he was outstanding need to do what
he was told. And just then there's got to be
somebody pulling and it's unexcusable for what he's doing, what
he's done out of all those people, he knows better. Yeah,
you know, if you're not wearing oak leafs anymore. You're

(35:14):
wearing You're wearing capulate Captain Nepulus.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 5 (35:19):
It's just great. It's just these people don't speak this
and I'm not trying to get pissed off with these people.
We're trying to use logic where people don't speak the
same language. They don't follow our Thanksgiving as a Christian holiday,
by the way point. And the thing is, the thing
is that they don't like it, and they keep calling us.
So what I mean, where the Democrats saying, hey, man,

(35:41):
you know we need to bring it down.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Look, it's unfortunate for these people's this is unfortunate, okay,
and this is terrible, and it's a tragedy. And it's
two guys who were doing their best and this this
person who came up on them and shot at them.
You know, this is this is unbelievable. JD. Vance in

(36:06):
the last few minutes said I want everybody to say
a prayer for those two National guardsmen. It is a
reminder that our soldiers are the sword and shield of
the USA. This was just moments before, uh, what we
saw happen with these with these troops passing away being murdered.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
Really, it's they were murdered. And the thing is, though
we have a powder keg right now, these people who
keep not even in the military. Hey, you know what,
and I'll bet you this, I mean, and I'm not
blaming any I'm not blaming I know, I know, but
we managed this is some soldier. There's a soldier, sailor
Marina Aramans, and I don't want to be going out there.
I mean, you know, you're putting doubt and that's what

(36:51):
I'm not blaming. Putting all the weight on Kelly because
he was told to do it, as they usually are.
But the things that he has lack. You know, we
talk on a courage of commitment, he lax it.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Well it has to wait. Look, the reality is the
blame goes on the perpetrator. Okay, and and we can
we can suss everything else out on the other side
of that. But the person who decided to go and
shoot these guys, but decided that he made a decision
to do it.

Speaker 5 (37:20):
I agree one hundred yeah, Brett, But you know it's
it's I hate but you keep instigating. There's gonna be
the one person's gonna have to do it, and then
you know a way almost there's people out there that's
just not right.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
Well, let's help, Let's let's see what happens. Let's hear
let's hear this briefing. Let's see what happens. Yankee, Joe
God bush Man, I appreciated.

Speaker 5 (37:38):
Bless God, bless you. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all
the listeners.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
Thanks man, I appreciate that call. News Talk eleven ten

(38:01):
out of nine. Three WBT, it's the Brett Water Bull Show.
We are monitoring and continuously looking at this developing story.
Two National Guard troops shot killed in custody. The perpetrator
is in custody there in Washington, d C. We are
expecting at some point where we will be able to

(38:23):
get more information. Cash Patel and and the folks over
there are are going to be doing a briefing at
some stage of the game. I expect we will probably
hear from the President at some point. He did put
out a couple of comments on this, but it's it's
not it's it's not audio stuff. It's the stuff that

(38:44):
that he's putting out, and he's very very upset, obviously
about what has happened in Washington, d C. It's A,
it's a it's it's it's just a horrific situation that
we're looking at. I mean, all of this is just
so ugly, it is so sad, and unfortunately we have
people who are being more and more radicalized and that's

(39:06):
a that's a very dangerous thing to do. It is
it is frightening. Uh one one post that's up over
in uh in X devastating loss in Washington, d C.
It is with great sorrow that we confirm that both
members of the West Virginia Virginian A National Guard who
were shot have passed away from their injuries. And I mean,

(39:28):
it's just such a terrible thing, especially coming on a
day that represents peace tomorrow and and holidays, and these
are people that that should not have had their lives
stolen from them. Jim san Diego, welcome to the show.

Speaker 6 (39:50):
Yes, thank you for having me on you. Yesterday you
were alluding to the video tape, but you know the
seditious six had made. But first I wanted to say,
you know, people here on the news to hear, oh,
the National Guard soldiers were shot and they're dead. But
anybody who's been under arms knows that these are the

(40:11):
guys that were wrestling on the bed in the in
the in your cant the night before and knocked over
the bottle of other comfort you bought it the p
X or these are the guys that ate the cookies
from the care package that your mom said sent you
and you had a beef with and you you know,
so these are not just just not you know, objective

(40:34):
of things. These are you know, these are people that
you know that are friends. And that's the number one
thing I want to impress upon people is that this
this is why we always want to pray. You want
to pray for these people that make your life. They've
impress you, they make the impression on your life. If

(40:55):
you've ever been under arms, you you anybody who knows
has been there knows what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
But well, let me let me ask you. Let me
ask you a question about that. Okay, unfortunately I'm gonna
be I'm due for a break here in a second.
But let me ask this question to you. Do you
think that this means that we have to turn Washington,
d c. Into a fortress? Basically because of all the way,
all the way the things that are happening here. I
mean what's your what's your assessment on that?

Speaker 6 (41:25):
Uh, that's that's kind of like what they want. They
want to have everything, the lockdown, a closed society, a
close it doesn't matter who does it.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (41:38):
If they can get you to close down your open
society and do it voluntarily, then that's almost even better
than when they they take control of the government and
declare martial law themselves.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
Yeah, Jim, I appreciate that. I appreciate that so much.
Thanks so much for being here on the show. And
and thank God for these people who stopped. Obviously I
think would have been even a worse attack. And the
fact of the matter is we should be grateful for
their sacrifice and we should pray unceasingly. I hope you
have a very blessed thanksgiving. Jim, good to talk to you.

(42:24):
News Talk eleven ten not nine three WBT Brett Waterble Show.
I want to kind of enlarge this conversation, and certainly
if you all want to share your thoughts, we are
happy to take your calls. We're in this portion of
this program where we're waiting for a briefing that's going

(42:45):
to come. It's going to be with DC Police, the
FBI Director cash ptel to get updates on this investigation
as what we know right now. So if you want to,
did you, and you're more than welcome to do it.
But I feel like we've gone off the right path

(43:11):
right The coarsening of our culture is a problem. People
are not willing to have a basic conversation. Everything is
like a talking point. Everything is this or that. I
had somebody earlier today who said, you talk about calling

(43:36):
balls and strikes, why don't you do that? I do,
but I'm sorry. When people murder two National guardsmen, there
is no both sides sort of dynamic. Murdering these people

(43:58):
is inherently wrong. So calling balls and strikes that has
what is the other side of the argument with a
murdered law enforcement officer? Two of them? We have fragmentation,

(44:19):
which is a huge problem. So once upon a time,
civic virtue and common purpose bound us together. That's a fact.
Today Identity politics, tribalism, and radical ideologies have fractured any

(44:39):
notion of unity. And I hate to even hazard this,
but I have to say this. If God forbid we
had another nine to eleven, I don't know that people
would be unified in the country. And that is a
terrible place to be. The course in income when we

(45:00):
stop seeing each other as a fellow citizen and start
seeing each other as enemies. I don't think there's anybody
out there that I want to have as an enemy.
I don't want to be one of those people that
is dealing with enemies. I want to have a conversation.

(45:21):
I want to have the ability to look at things
from different perspectives. But the issue is who are we
as a country. The issue isn't immigration itself, but America
has always thrived on newcomers. The challenge is when assimilation

(45:44):
breaks down, when people arrive without being encouraged to invest
in the American project. Prosperity requires shared stakeholding. I know,
it's one of those fancy words, learning the language, embrace
civic duty and contributing to the nation's greatness. Without that,

(46:05):
you're going to get resentment that's going to grow. I
say this because obviously we're going to have operations that
are going to be taking place here with Charlotte's Web
and all that sort of stuff. But there is a
driver here that is splitting us apart, and it's the
radicalism in the higher education system. Period. Full stop universities

(46:28):
once trained leaders in liberty and responsibility, but too often
now they train activists in grievance and division. When freedom
is framed as an oppression and socialism as salvation, students
graduate and see America itself as the enemy. Why would

(46:50):
you want to go to a school and get in culture,
you know, culturated there, and then suddenly decide you hate
the country. Why are you spending seventy five thousand dollars
a year to hate your country? You could do it
for free. Prosperity requires shared stakeholding, learning the language. Right,

(47:13):
I just said that. But the ideological war corrodes our culture.
When freedom is framed as oppression and socialism as salvation,
students graduate seeing America as the enemy, and they see
it only as where do I get mine? It's not

(47:36):
about being attached to the rest of the culture, to
the country. Social media rewards anger, no doubt about it.
It's not about wisdom, It's about anger. Outrage becomes the currency,
the civility becomes the weakness, and when you have your
head filled with mush from radical professor, you're not able

(48:01):
to think clearly about this. The coarsening of the culture
is accelerated when the algorithms feed us the division instead
of the dialogue. How do we recapture America's spirit? Recenter
on gratitude for freedom, for opportunity, and community. Recommit, recommit

(48:28):
to the assimilation. For newcomers who are coming into the country,
you have to embrace American values. We don't need any
more maniacs running around shooting people. Reinvest in education that
actually teaches civic virtue, not ideological warfare. Rebuild the communities

(48:50):
where neighbors matter more than the hashtags. See, the spirit
of America isn't gone. It's not even hiding. It's waiting
to be reclaimed. It's in the entrepreneurs starting a business,
the teacher shaping young minds, the soldier defending liberty, the

(49:14):
family gathered around a Thanksgiving table. The coarsening of the
culture is reversible if we choose opportunity over dependency, unity
over division, and gratitude over grievance. America's greatness is not automatic.

(49:35):
It's a choice. It's a choice we must make in
every one of the generations. Who's with me? Because I
got a pretty good notion, who's against us? We can

(49:56):
turn the tide, all right, ladies and gentlemen, we're gonna
go to the brief incoming out of Washington, d C.

Speaker 8 (50:01):
Here it is that this case will have her office's
complete attention.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
Mayor is there any other suspect? Chief?

Speaker 9 (50:10):
Sure so?

Speaker 10 (50:11):
Now at this time there was no indication that there
was any other suspect. The one suspect that was involved
in this incident, they were shot during the interaction and
they were transports to the hospital for treatment.

Speaker 6 (50:21):
Is validated potentially forward her agency.

Speaker 8 (50:25):
What we know, Andrea, is that this is a target
at shooting. One individual who appeared to target these guardsmen.
That individual has been taken into custody.

Speaker 11 (50:35):
Mak all more details on the condition of the two
National Guards, whether or not anyone else is ancient and
a quick question for the FBI directin.

Speaker 10 (50:46):
You said that we'll make sure we find the perpetrators
for this act.

Speaker 11 (50:50):
So just to clounifind the person believed to be responsible
is in custody and there are no other suspects.

Speaker 10 (50:57):
Sure so, I think I can start out again the
Chief Carol from MPD. So, both the individuals, the guard members,
they are in critical in the condition at local hospital
at this time, being treated. At this point We have
no other suspects. We have reviewed video from the area.
It appears, like I said, to be a lone gunmen
that raised the firearm and ambushed these members of the
National Guard, and he was quickly taken into custody by
other National Guard members and law enforcement members any sense

(51:18):
members of a loan.

Speaker 1 (51:20):
At this time.

Speaker 10 (51:20):
Obviously, we're very in the plenary stages of investigation there.
You know, there's a lot of things, a lot of
agents that are here from various federal agencies, law enforcement agencies.
We have the full power of the FBI and or
federal partners here in the task force. So we're looking
at all those different aspects. But we don't have any motive.
The National guardsmen that were shot, I'm told they were
armed at this time. That's part of the Pulmary investigation.

Speaker 1 (51:42):
Can you explain how the affection was at.

Speaker 10 (51:46):
Che sure, so, how the suspect was apprehended. As I said,
the individual, the suspect came around the corner. He immediately
started firing a firearm at the two National Guard members.
So at that time, there were other National Guard members
that were in the area. They heard the gunfire. They actually, uh,
we're able to intervene and to kind of hold down
the suspect after he had been shot on the ground
to a law enforcement got there within moments he was shot.

(52:09):
At this point, we're still investigating exactly who shot the individual.
It's not clear at this time. The area, we don't
know kind of weapon. There was DC police. It happened
right in front of the Metro, although there is no
indication that the perpetrator was on the Metro, So there's
Metro Transit police in the area and obviously being on
Seventeenth Street by the White House Uniformed Division, Secret Service
or in the immediate area as well.

Speaker 5 (52:30):
We do not know at this time.

Speaker 10 (52:33):
It's still investigation.

Speaker 8 (52:35):
We're going to be able to take a couple more
be able to question the suspect.

Speaker 10 (52:38):
Worst conditioned so severe that you have been at the
sure and so, as I said, we're very preliminary in
the investigation, so we're looking to all aspects of who
the individual is, his connections. At this time, he's still
in the hospital receiving treatment.

Speaker 1 (52:50):
And I would just like to hang on.

Speaker 12 (52:51):
I would just like to add the reason that this
suspect is in the reason that this suspect is in
custody is because of the bravery of the men and
women of the National Guard who responded due to their
extensive training to secure American lives. Today there was not
any further injury and any further shootings. We should highlight
the fact that the men and women of law enforcement,

(53:11):
the Inner Agency, the Department of War, and the National
Guard executed their training with great precision today and prevented
an even greater tragedy from befalling us. These National guardsmen
are heroes and we must pray for their safety and
their speedy recovery. And as a chief said, we are
in the preliminary stages of this investigation. We will run
down every single lead, every piece of evidence. This is

(53:34):
the power of the US government at its best at
the state, local, and federal level. That is why this
interagency group is standing behind us to assure America in
the world that we will continue to keep DC safe.
And thankfully we have Metropolitan Police Department, the National guardsmen
and federal agents, and the Department of Justice and an
Attorney General willing to prosecute the mission to keep Americans safe.

(53:55):
And President Trump has rightly stated that this heinous act
will be investigated and he is thanks the National guardsmen
and women and the men and women of law enforcement.

Speaker 1 (54:06):
All right, they're wrapping that up. But the big takeaway
for this is that the two guardsmen are still in
critical condition. That I don't know where this came from
except for the governor of UH of West Virginia coming
out and saying that they had passed, that they had
they had lost their lives. Uh and that's the governor

(54:29):
of West Virginia. He went out with that. But apparently
they are still alive as as of as of this moment.
Let's take this call from Robert. Robert, Welcome to the program.

Speaker 9 (54:44):
Good afternoon, sir. Believe it or not, I'm going through
a U turn right now. So uh, I just I
just wanted to comment a little bit about these these
tragic deaths of the guardsmen.

Speaker 1 (55:00):
Well, no, they're still alive. They're still alive at this
stage of the game.

Speaker 9 (55:03):
Oh oh well, well, well that is great news. Obviously
I didn't know that anyway, it kind of it kind
of melds into so what you mentioned today about that
Frank Luntz interview on c SPAN and when he when
he emphasized the word enough to me even even beyond that,

(55:23):
I think I think it should have been enough hate.
I think I think hate is permeating probably both sides.
But I think you should have said enough fate. I
saw a bumper sticker just now that said it said,
my dog hates Trump too. So hate leads us to

(55:45):
do terrible things.

Speaker 1 (55:46):
It's true, very true, Robert. I appreciate that call. Then,
I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving tomorrow. Look, this
is now the time to pray for these for these
two who were injured severely. But perhaps ladies and gentlemen,
perhaps we will get a miracle, and wouldn't that be

(56:09):
something for all of us to be happy about, regardless
of party affiliation. News Talk eleven ten nine three WBT.
It's the Brettwaterbow Show. It is great to be with

(56:31):
you as we are charting this course that we didn't
expect earlier. Today, let me reset everything that we know
as of this stage of the game. About two fifteen
this afternoon, there was a shooting that took place in Washington,
DC and two members of the National Guard were shot

(56:53):
by an assailant. This was about a mile from the
White House itself, and as a consequence of this you
had two National guardsmen who were wounded and ultimately were
unfortunately named as being deceased by Patrick Morrissey, the governor

(57:17):
of West Virginia. Will lo and behold. These two National
Guard heroes are still alive. They're in critical condition, but
they are still alive. And we just had a briefing
take place in the last fifteen to twenty minutes cash
Ptel talking about the importance of this mission that is

(57:41):
carrying on in Washington, d C. We don't know anything
about the attacker. We have no idea, what their name is,
what their motive was. We have absolutely no idea. And
so I think, taking a lesson from the mistake that

(58:04):
Patrick Morrissey made in West Virginia, it behooves us not
to necessarily speculate as to what the cause of this was.
But we do know two officers or two people who
were serving in the National Guard were shot by an assailant.

(58:26):
We've we've heard from a number of different people who
are attached to all of this. We are looking at
a number of different sort of storylines in this regard.
But the only thing we really can do, as I
said earlier today, is to pray for the for the
National Guard troops who were wounded, and let's hope that

(58:48):
they come through this. There was a there was a briefing.
It's a preliminary briefing. It's a it happened here at
this particular time, where not we don't have any specific
information about whether they were targeted or not targeted, or
any of that sort of stuff. So it would be
it would be a mistake to try to just figure

(59:09):
that out and say it's this, this and that. Now
the investigation begins. President the United States, I mean he
is hot as fish grease. I mean he is, he is.
He is very very angry about this, these these two
National guardsmen being being shot. He issued a statement. Uh,

(59:35):
just in the last few minutes. President Donald Trump condemned
the shooter suspected of critically wounding two National guardsmen in Washington,
d C. On Wednesday, calling the individual and animal and
vowing that they will pay a very steep price. Quote
the animal that shot the two guardsmen, with both being

(59:56):
critically wounded, uh and now on two separate hospitals, is
severely wounded, but regardless, will pay a very steep price.
Trump posted to his truth social account earlier this afternoon.
President Trump emphasized the support for the US military and
law enforcement community, calling them truly great people. And President

(01:00:21):
Trump said, God bless our great National Guard and all
of our military and law enforcement. The President said, these
are truly great people. I, as the President of the
United States, and everyone associated with the Office of the Presidency,
am with you. We also heard from the Vice President

(01:00:41):
of the United States coming out and saying that he
was praying for these folks and that the support needs
to come quickly. Pete Hexseth has also commented in the
last few minutes. Pete Hexth says dcan targeted National Guardsmen.

(01:01:02):
More troops are going to be on the way. Secretary
of War Pete Hexseth said that the suspected gunmen in
the Washington d C shooting on Wednesday targeted the National Guardsmen.
West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrissey confirmed two of the guardsmen
were wounded in the attack, which happens just blocks from

(01:01:23):
the White House. Myself and my team were notified that
the two guardsmen had been shot and Washington d C
critically wounded, Hexseth told the media during a news conference
Wednesday afternoon. The shooter in a cowardly, dastardly act targeting
the best of America. Heroes willing to serve in Washington,

(01:01:47):
d C. Serve the people, and they do not know
that they'd ever met, but because of their love for
the country and the community. In the wake of the attack,
Hexseth said that the administration will never back down, adding
that the President of the United States is directing him

(01:02:07):
to deploy five hundred more additional National Guard troops in
the nation's capital. Someone decided to turn that into targeting
National guardsmen. Hexith continued that will only stiffen our resolve.
We will never back down. We will secure our capital,
we will secure our cities. In fact, this happened just

(01:02:31):
steps away from the White House. It will not stand.
This will only stiffen our resolve to ensure that we
will make Washington, DC safe and beautiful. Commenting from the
Vice President of the United States, he said, I want
everybody who's a person of faith to say a prayer

(01:02:52):
for these two National guardsmen that they are going to
be able to spend Thanksgiving with their families instead of
using their lives, because I understand they're still in pretty
rough condition. That's according to Jdvans News Talk eleven ten,

(01:03:22):
not a nine to three WBT. It's the Brett Winer
Bull Show. It is great to be with you. Seven
oh four five seven zero eleven ten seven O four
five seven zero eleven ten. Look, I had I had
a cub completely and totally different program that I was
going to do during during this this hour, in these hours.
But look the reality what we're seeing here, folks, very

(01:03:44):
serious stuff, and unfortunately, I don't know how how you
get a fix on this sort of thing. I mean,
it's just it's it's really it's it's really terrible. Can
you give me cut number twenty eight because I want
to kind of widen out some of the stuff that
we're talking about. At this stage of the game, the

(01:04:05):
investigation is going to be moving. We'll see what ends
up happening, and over the course of the next hours
and then into tomorrow, we'll probably get more information. But
I want to play this clip. This is cut number
twenty eight, and this is an issue with the Charlotte's
Web coming into Charlotte again obviously, and it's twenty eight go.

Speaker 13 (01:04:29):
Two ice raids that took place in Charlotte, North Carolina
have went viral. The first one is of a fifteen
year old boy working at a grocery store. That is
what the media told you. But what the media is
forgetting to tell you is that actually this kid was
not fifteen years old. He's twenty years old and illegal immigrant.
ICE agents went up to him in the grocery store.

(01:04:49):
But the twenty year old put up a fight, ran
out of the grocery store, and ICE agents caught him
in the parking lot of the grocery store and zip
tied his hands and took him away. But the media
is making it out by it's his fifteen year old
this is nice boy working at the grocery store. But
he's actually twenty years old and he's an illegal immigrant.
So yeah, ICE did get him. Another one that went
viral is a picture of a man working at a restaurant.

(01:05:11):
It shows two ICE agents holding this man down. What
the media is forgetting to tell you is that the
man that they're holding down actually has a knife in
his hand. Also, the same individual has been charged with
serious crimes that he committed against a child. He's already
committed a serious crime here in America. ICE agents go
to get him at this restaurant. He has a knife

(01:05:33):
in his hand and he's putting up a fight. But
the media, once again is making it out the ICE
agents are just arresting this nice guy is he's working
at the restaurant. The media is forgetting to tell you
the truth behind these ICE rates. ICE agents actually do
do their job and they're going after the worst of
the worst.

Speaker 1 (01:05:50):
I actually I disagree with what she's saying. And the
reason why I do this is because they're they're not
forgetting or they're noting that. They are just trying to
turn this thing into something that it's not right. ICE
officers have a job to do. CBP officers have a

(01:06:14):
job to do. Secret Service officers have a job to do.
These are people who are all tasked by the federal
government and gosh, I mean you go back in time
and you say, wow, why do we have ice? Why
do we have ice? We have ice because they are
the people that go out and bring in the worst
of the worst. This is a very difficult thing. What

(01:06:37):
people do not understand. And I've said this till I'm
blue in the face, and people don't necessarily track with
what I'm saying. But here's what it is. When you
get somebody in custody who is going to be deported
from the United States, do you know what the very

(01:06:59):
first thing is that you have to do when somebody
gets get ready to be deported, you have to reach
out to the country of origin. So, like, let's say
you have somebody who is in the country illegally and
needs to be repatriated to Ireland, Okay, because they've committed

(01:07:22):
a crime, they've overstayed, whatever it is. So what you
have to do then is you have to go and
call Ireland and you have to say, hey, we've got
Patty O'Brien and he needs to go back home because
he overstayed, and we want we're gonna put him on
a flight and you guys have to take him back.

(01:07:43):
Now here's the craziest thing of all, the craziest thing
of all. Ireland can say no. Ireland can say no.
If you have somebody who wants to go get needs
to be repatriated to Brazil, or somebody who needs to
get repatriated to Taiwan or any of these places. If
the government says no, what do you think happens next?

(01:08:07):
Guess what happens next? You might be able to find
another country that'll take them. But if you don't, they
get released. They get released into the population. So you
might have these countries where you have somebody who's in

(01:08:28):
the country illegally, and like, let's say it's like a
really tough kind of country, like North Korea, right, North Korea. Well,
do you think Kim Jong un is going to want
to have a criminal come back to North Korea? Probably not,
So you know what ends up happening. He ends up
getting released into the population. There's this job that exists

(01:08:51):
when it comes to illegal immigration, and the job is
called the deporter. There are people who are deporters the job.
They're the people who accompany those folks to go to
their home country and they say, Okay, here you go
get you know, see you later. Don't don't come back
to the United States. You're gonna go to jail again.

(01:09:14):
They have to do the hard work of convincing countries
to take their worst of the worst back. And do
you think the countries like, wow, sir, any of these
other places are going to be playing ball? They don't
play ball, and these people get released into the general population.

(01:09:37):
There's a great book you can read it. It's called
The deporter, It's fascinating. Came out about fifteen years ago,
and it is it is. It is an eye opening excursion.

(01:09:58):
News Talk eleven ten not and I'm three WBT. It's
the Brettwitterbule Show. It's good to be with you. You know.
I'm looking at some of these takes that are happening
are around us, and I'm thinking back to this terrible
attack that took place earlier today in Washington, DC. So
there's a reporter called Ken Delanian. Ken Delanian is a

(01:10:24):
reliable reporter for MSNBC, so I would say he's a
reliable reporter for MSNBC, but not so much for regular
people who who understand what the stakes are. But this
is something that is particularly galling that he had to say.
This is just about an hour ago. Ken Delanian justifies

(01:10:50):
the shooting of two National guardsmen in DC. Now, when
I saw that, I said, no way, that's not possible.
He wouldn't do that. Well, Lannion said, there's a lot
of controversy right now with ice who are also wearing
uniforms and masks. Some Americans might object to that, and

(01:11:12):
apparently this shooting has happened. What a weird disjointed sort
of thing. But he's not alone from libs of TikTok.
Democrat leaders and activists are claiming that the National Guard

(01:11:36):
is rounding up black people in DC and putting them
in detainment camps. And now suddenly you have two National
guardsmen who got shot again. When you see this again,
when you hear this sort of stuff, this is straight

(01:11:58):
up nuts. And let me tell you, I mean, we
can go back, we can play, we can play the
clip again from from Frank Lunz. Frank Lunz, I mean
he said it, and he's right. I mean, this is
this is something. If you didn't hear this, you've got
to hear. This is cut number twenty Frank Lunz on

(01:12:22):
the crazy stuff that people are saying with this idea
of hey, the military is going to the military is
going to create a whole problem and all this sort
of stuff, as you just saw with the with the
what they call the seditious six. I don't think that's
an appropriate word. I'm calling them the silly six. But
this is cut number twenty, Frank Lunz.

Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
Go, I want to ask you about the recent video
by Democratic lawmakers urging troops to to not obey illegal orders. First,
what was your reaction to that? And if you saw
any reaction among the cadet's at West Point that you.

Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
Work with, Well, that's politics, and West Point does not
do politics, does not do partisanship. Partisanship, My first reaction was,
why the hell did you put this video out? I
know you're trying to pulk at him. Of course, you
don't obey in a legal order. Of course, there are
standards and processes that our military has followed, not just

(01:13:23):
for decades, but for centuries. That's a given. You're doing
this just to create a political issue, and shame on
you because there are men and women who are serving
in Japan and Korea, all over the globe, in the
Middle East, in other Asian countries DC, and this is
Thanksgiving and they're not home and they're sacrificing for this

(01:13:46):
country and you're playing politics.

Speaker 3 (01:13:48):
At this point, we're going to talk about Thanksgiving. But
the reaction from the Pentagon was to investigate Senator Mark Kelly,
a twenty five year veteran of the Navy, by bringing
him back, reactating him so that he could be court
martialed pending the investigation.

Speaker 1 (01:14:03):
Of course, why are we doing this. Just stop.

Speaker 4 (01:14:08):
There's a word that I've used now and I've been
studying is to try to figure out what that language is.
And it's very simple. One word. Enough, all caps, exclamation points, enough,
enough of the commentary, enough of the divisiveness. The military
is not a political organization. It's not a mouthpiece and

(01:14:31):
should not be dragged into politics. Stop doing this, and
it's happening on both sides. You got to cut it
out because that you asked me at the beginning of this,
what is a breaking point? That's a breaking point.

Speaker 1 (01:14:45):
Thank god.

Speaker 4 (01:14:46):
The generals and the admirals and the people who serve
us don't play politics. Thank god, they keep quiet. That's
what's different between this.

Speaker 3 (01:14:54):
Many of those admirals and generals have been purged by
this administration, by this Pentagon. Are you concerned about that?
And that the new people coming in. We had a
caller say, look, the new people are not loyal to
the Constitution, They're loyal to President Trump.

Speaker 4 (01:15:11):
That caller doesn't know. And one of the things I've
learned is humility to acknowledge what I don't know. We
have to assume that they're being chosen because of their capability.
This is what concerns me for my lifetime, and it's

(01:15:33):
been a long one. Now, there's never been any hint.
Generalists will talk after their service, but there's never been
any politicization. And no one and that is a capital
N capital oh, no one to bring politics into the
military because that is our last best line of defense.

Speaker 1 (01:16:00):
And unfortunately there was no line of defense for these
two who were shot today by an assailant in the
nation's capital. Words mean things, words have impact. News Talk

(01:16:36):
eleven ten, not a nine three WBT. It's the brettwater
Bows Show. It is great to be with you as
we get ready for the Thanksgiving setup. Everybody's getting ready
for that. Obviously, the topic of conversation will probably be
something political at the table. But you know, one of
the things that I always like to kind of hang

(01:16:58):
on to is fun, having fun. You can laugh. We're
not in prison. You know, one of the things that
I hope never happens. And I understand why, you know,
people have to sometimes walk on eggshells. A lot of

(01:17:18):
this is a byproduct of people who did not ever
believe that the elections were really going to be the
thing that was going to happen. And if you want
to look at it from the perspective of say a
progressive or a liberal person. They never thought that Donald

(01:17:39):
Trump would get elected in twenty sixteen. In fact, they
never thought that Donald Trump would get elected in twenty
twenty four. But that is the case. That is what
we are dealing with here, and there's no way to
erase that, just like there's no way to erase Bill

(01:18:03):
Clinton with Monica Lewinsky or Joe Biden and Hunter Biden.
Human beings are flawed by nature, and if you get
to par you're pretty lucky. But the fact of what

(01:18:27):
we're seeing and what we deal with, our reaction is
the only thing that we can control. We can control
an action and a reaction. I learned a long time
ago talking to somebody who's very smart, that you can't

(01:18:49):
persuade the unpersuadable, And so if you want to persuade
the unpersuadable, you have to understand that they're just going
to move the goalposts this way or that way. I
think there are a number of people in this audience

(01:19:09):
who have a situation where maybe they're dreading to go
to a place for the Thanksgiving holiday because either you're
a liberal or you're a conservative, or you're a maga,
or you're one of those things. The best advice I
can give you with this sort of stuff that goes

(01:19:30):
on is to easily just kind of look at the
person and just ask questions Like I would just ask questions.
I would just say, so when you were growing up,
what was your favorite television show? You can take this
to a very surface place, and that's one of the
things that people don't really understand. I never really understood

(01:19:54):
the strategy that you can use in that regard until
I was working with Rush, and he was a master
of being able to take a person who was calling,
who was irate, who was angry, who is all that
sort of stuff, and he could turn it into a positive.

(01:20:17):
The two people that I that I've ever seen that
could do that are remarkable. It's almost like doing a
like a martial art to get them to go from
being super angry to a place where you're actually having

(01:20:39):
a conversation. And if you do that, because you're going
to get poked. You know you're going to get poked.
If you're a progressive, you're going to get poked, if
you're if you're a maga, you're going to get poked.
But you know who the two people were that I've
seen or been around or heard that could do that,

(01:21:00):
Harvey and rush Limbaugh, because they understood the craft of conversation.
So much of what you see when you go out
on X or any of these other places. So many
of these people who are talk show hosts and things
like that, they have to get the last word in.

(01:21:21):
They have to be the person that's right, They have
to destroy you, they have to do all that sort
of stuff. One of the great things you can do
is you can just sit there and talk to people
and ask them questions and eventually you kind of send
them down a road and the anger is gone, or
if they try to come back and do the same

(01:21:42):
sort of thing. I mean, this is the sort of
stuff that you can do. You can do communication jiu jitsu,
where you take their energy and spin it back on them,
but in a pleasant way. Some people just want to
get in fights. Some people are just too immature to

(01:22:05):
go around and understand that a conversation is I talk,
you talk, I talk, you talk, you talk, I talk,
and we have a conversation. One can only worry about
what it's got to be like when people have to
work with people who are not able to even do

(01:22:27):
the bare minimum of trying to build a little bit
of a difference. Matt, Welcome to the show. What's on
your mind?

Speaker 5 (01:22:38):
Matt?

Speaker 14 (01:22:39):
Hey, Brett, Happy Thanksgiving?

Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
Thank you sir, and you too.

Speaker 14 (01:22:43):
Yeah, my thoughts and prayers are with those National guardsmen
and their family. Maybe that's just I didn't know anything
about it. I just got off work and I came home,
turned your show on, and you said that, and I
was like, you got to be kidding me. You know,
this is insane, sure is anyway, I just want you
to know that I forgive you and breaking Brett Jensen

(01:23:05):
for what you did to me on the air the
other week.

Speaker 5 (01:23:07):
What was that?

Speaker 1 (01:23:08):
What was that?

Speaker 9 (01:23:09):
What did we do?

Speaker 14 (01:23:10):
We you burned into my brain and image about you
guys fencing with fly swatters and the costumes and everything,
and and I've developed a twitch. My eye starts my
one eye starts blinking, and my head starts jerking, and
I'm probably gonna have to go to the therapy over that.
But anyway, you guys are great, a great show. You know,

(01:23:34):
the holidays are here, so yes, sir, But it's just
such a shame that there's families that have to go
through horribor what happened up there horror. Yeah, it's just
just insane. But you have a great, great Thanksgiving, and
keep up the good work.

Speaker 1 (01:23:48):
Brother Matt, you are the best man. I appreciate it,
and enjoy the holidays. And enjoy the holidays, and we'll
get back together again next.

Speaker 14 (01:23:56):
Week, how about that, Yes, sir, I'll be listening.

Speaker 1 (01:23:59):
Good stuff. Listen. I didn't mean to be to burn
that into your brain, by the way, that just sort
of kind of happened. And that's what happens. There's a
long relationship between me and breaking Brett Jensen, and it's
just one of these things. Somehow, some way we spin
it up. We spin it up. Thanks to everybody who

(01:24:23):
participates in today. We have Keith, we have Pam, we
have Nick, we have Travers. We've got all of them
here tonight. Enjoy the holiday, enjoy the blessings of liberty,
and we'll get together again very soon. My name is
