Tune in here to this Friday edition of the Brett Winterble Show!

Brett kicks off the program by talking to Pete Kaliner on the latest edition of The Friday Hangover.

Brett and Pete start off by addressing the planned “No Kings” protest amid the government shutdown in the nation’s capital. Brett believes that the organization of these protests is the result of a failure of the U.S. educational system. Pete highlights that the oddity of this situation is that the people participating are “advocating for something they don’t want to see happen that has not happened.”

The conversation then shifts to the ongoing government shutdown. Pete mentions that reports have been circulating that Democrats cannot reopen the government until after the “No Kings” protests have concluded. The Democrats’ theory behind this is that if they vote to open the government before the protests, people would storm the Capitol and try to attack Democrats.

Finally, the two talk about the mayoral debate that took place in New York City between Andrew Cuomo, Zohran Mamdani and Curtis Sliwa. They react to a shocking clip in which Mamdani states that he supports legalizing prostitution. Additionally, they respond to another clip in which Mamdani explains how he would raise taxes to fund free bus service.

do gatorade. You should definitely hydrate.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I hydrate every day at least once because I you
know what, I don't want to smell bad when I
come to work.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
No, I appreciate that, although I leave so I really
wouldn't even notice.

I love Anison. Are you sure you want to leave Annison?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Jennifer?

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Oh no, she's gonna like apparently. The rumor is, what
is this if Barack Obama leaves Michelle Obama?

Speaker 1 (01:20):
No, way. Yeah, apparently she's way out of his league.
She's way out of his league.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Yeah, but she's she's in love with him, is she?
That's Look, this is just what the tabloids say. Are
you saying they're not right?

I'm thinking that the tabloids are wrong.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Have you heard the way that Michelle Obama talks about
him on the podcast?

Speaker 1 (01:43):
You know what, I think that is all Listen. I
think that is all for stick. I think that is all.
I think that is all for sick. I think that
is jamake it.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
She says some pretty nanty.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Tension works. Tension works like take your see.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
People can't see what he's doing right now. He's making
a hand gesture at me. Yes, okay, he's putting his
two pointer fingers.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Now look at the same time. Then you see the
middle finger right there, right so that one that's right
in the middle. Okay, here we go. The King's thing,
the King's thing that's going to be happening all over
the country, no king, no kings, the no kings thing.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
You know this? Come on, what are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Washington, d C. The whole reason why the shutdown is
shut down is because what they have to do is
they have to go into d C and then around
all the area around us to go and be part
of the No King's movement, remember the no Kings. When
we need a No King's movement, we don't. Don't they
need it. They need to try to. We don't have

(02:41):
kings exactly, that's the point.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
So they've already won.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
No they have not one. They have not one. I
believe the people who are thinking about doing the no
Kings thing do not understand that we don't have kings.
I think this is a failing of the educational system
in the United States of America because if I said
to you, who's the king of America, I.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Would say there is no King of America.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
And I would agree with you on that. But you
have these leftists who are all about the no Kings.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
They're advocating for something that they don't want to see happen,
that has not happened.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
And is happening at the same time. That is what
is so strange about this entire affair.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Okay, I have to put my cards on the table.
I am aware of the no Kings.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
That was just you did that.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
You bitted me, You did me so, right, And to
your point you made there about the shutdown, Yes, I
did see the reports.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
The rumors.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
I don't know how has this been verified. I know
that some Republicans have said this and that they have
been told or maybe some are are just rumor mongering
or just creating a narrative. I don't know, right, but
this idea that the Democrats cannot reopen the government until
after this protest.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
It has to be done before, yes.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Right, because if they were to vote to open the government, correct,
then all of their base would probably storm the capitol
and try to attack the Democrats, right, So like this
is them fighting, so they have to be seen as fighting.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
And then after all the no kings ers leave.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
But there's no fighting. Nobody's fighting for anything. They're just
walking around in birkenstocks.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
And they don't want to fight. Who doesn't want to
fight the protesters? The rage in Granny is the well
people that are there for the demonstration, correct, during the.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Day, during the now, what goes down when the sun
goes down? You know what goes down when the sun
goes you know, anti.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Fu fu exactly, that's when the shock troops. A uh
huh and right, So like that's and that's it's we
saw this and this is the same pattern over and over.
Absolutely this allows them to make the argument you know,
in the media, which the media then regurgitates because that's
what they do. They say, Oh, well, you know, mostly
peaceful and they were infiltrated by these bad actors. Oh

(05:17):
they came from someplace else. It was a disruptors. Disruptor
and beware of the maga. They're gonna dress like anti
funds and there they are. Yeah, yeah, oh false, flat
right right.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
No doubt about it. Good. I'm glad. I'm glad we
got to do this because Isaac I need cut number.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Eighty six twelve. No, this is this is big. No, No,
this is big.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
No. Stop you're you're you're making it painful. Okay. This
is a clip from the debate last night, The debate
last night that took place with Zorhan as Curtis Lee
refers to them, orhon the magnificent, the man if it.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Okay, So, actually, do you know.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
He calls himself a bolshevik or a yeah BMW bolshevik.
I really he did in a post. Does he have
a car BMW. I don't know if it was his.
It could have been he is a NEPO baby.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
This guy, yeah, this guy is off the charts.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Yeah. Yeah, So he posted up super I want to say.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Maybe it was like a year or so ago maybe
and it was one of his one of his commie homies,
and they were like, yeah, here we are and they
were posing in front of a BMW and they and
they had like a hashtag BMW bull or yeah, BMW
bosh bolsh.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
You know you know he you know he lives in
rent controlled apartment. Well, yeah, thirteen dollars a month.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Right, he's got well he has no money, he's.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Worth millions of dollars. Well, the mom and the dad
and the whole maybe on paper. Okay, good, so this
is perfect. So we we are, we are we are
dissecting and bisecting Zorhan. Okay, so here we go. Cut
number fifteen. This was something that was shocking last night.
This was shocking whether or not he believes in legalized PROSTITUTIONE.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Wait, wait, can I guess first? Can I guess what
his answer will be?

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Go ahead, what's the answer? Yes, fifteen, Go.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
And to follow the advice of district attorneys that we
have here in New York City, the current Manhattan DA,
the former Manhattan DA, the current Brooklyn DA, the former
Manhattan DA. Having said that prosecuting women for prostitution is
something that actually leads to less safety, what we need
to do is provide.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Just a quick clarification, So no legalization.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
How about the criminalization.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
I do not think that we should be prosecuting women
who are struggling, who are currently being thrown in jail
and then being offered job opportunities. I think we should
be actually providing those kinds of opportunities at the first
point of interactions.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Okay, so so many So we're gonna go, oh my god,
don't do it, Joe, dude, we don't know I can
the first point of interaction.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Yes, that's what they said.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
By the way, it is really that surprising coming from
a Jiehattist adjacent dude, Like, seriously, no, no, no, women
should totally be able to pimp, sell or to prostitute
themselves out.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Well, because this is all happening in Jackson Heights, right,
It's over in Jackson Heights and Queens. And who represents
that district, not just Mandami? Who is the person that
represents that.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
District at a congressional level.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Aosac AOC is, somebody needs to ask AOC because she
built Mundami in the closet at her house. She built him. Yeah,
he's a robot.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
The lightning strike did a lot of work.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Too, big time. So I want to know is she
cool with prostitution? I think that in the streets.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Is that part of the DSA.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
I think it is platform. I think it is right.
I do believe that that's the thing.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Thing.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Seriously though, like, honestly, why do you want to I mean,
can't we just go back to the good old days
of having Times Square filled with all of the hookers?

Speaker 1 (09:05):
That's what Curtis said last. Curtis said, listen, this has
been terrible. We have to get this. This has got
to stop because people, little kids are walking around and
these people are all showing off their goods. Right.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Well, I mean, look, are you trying, like, are you
trying or are you not trying to destroy Western civilization here? Okay,
so if you like, if you're not on board with
the mission here to tear down all of the foundations
of our society except prostitution.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
We don't want any prostitution on the streets.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
No, no, no, like that's part of this.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Destruction of the society. Correct, get everybody high, get everybody
sexually right, you know, innuendo and beyond.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
What did you think decolonization meant.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
That's what it means, right, it means.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Tearing down the society.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
It's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean it's totally believable.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
I mean, I totally know it really is, which is
probably not the best phrase I should have used on
a prostitution topic.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Get Can I just give you one more clip?

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Absolutely?

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Right?

Speaker 1 (10:04):
This is it? Because I know we're late, and I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Damn.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Okay. This is his answer on raising taxes for free
buses cut sixteen please go. The question is how you'll
make them free.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
We will fund the revenue that would have otherwise been
brought in from fares. And that's something that we would
do in partnership with Albany. And I've put forward two proposals.
The first is to raise taxes on the top one
percent of New Yorkers by two percent. That would raise
four billion dollars. The second is to raise the states
top corporate tax rate to match that of New Jersey,
which would raise five billion dollars.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
How much do you think it costs to ride a
bus in New York City?

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Right now?

Speaker 1 (10:39):
You will not believe this.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
I was doun to ride a bus.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
To ride the bus, if I'm going to guess, I'm
gonna say fifteen bucks.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
No, there's three dollars each way.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Oh my gosh, that's that's like cheaper than our light rail. True, now,
are light reels free.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
But nobody nobody pays for Wait wait are you saying
are you saying that in New York City it's free, free,
free ride the train, free free ride the train. Yeah, okay, yeah,
you're you're dismissed, my friend, I appreciate you
