Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the deal. You can show your twenty twenty five
edition in case you are going to be in Atlanta.
I'm gonna be there Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at
the City Winery. It is going to I think we
we have eight shows. I think all but two are
sold out. And uh so come check me off. You're
taking that.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
You hung out with my father in law?

Speaker 1 (00:19):
I sure did.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Hung up.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
It was like it always goes. He has the best stories.
He has I'm telling the best stories.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Well, we're gonna go to the other end of the
spectrum now in Atlanta. You'll get a chance to meet
my sister in law.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Oh yeah, I heard it this whole. I'm sure those
stories won't.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Be They won't.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
They won't. They'll be okay, but we'll talk about that.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Get ready, but I stay ready, baby boy. That's what
I do. Did you see the guy who went to
CBS and saw my Hogany cards and.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Lost I'm mad? Yes, I did see that.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
You so he got he got mad that we they were.
Can you pull that up from my my Instagram listen
to it?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah, I think.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, here is what I don't get. Why would I
want to give somebody a card that look like white people.
They are in my supervisor and landlord, what do what
do I what I need that for?

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Like?

Speaker 1 (01:14):
What upsets people? If I want to give somebody a
card that looks like them? Why is that upsetting to you?
You don't like mo hockey cards? Don't buy them?

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Well, here's the thing that I have to question. It
couldn't have been his first time going into a location that
had these cars, because Mahogany cards have been around for.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
At least in Calabasas. They never were there. I had
to go to I used to always to get Hallmark
cards for Christmas or holidays. I would have to go
to the Hallmark store to get these. Now they close
the store. It used to be two stores and then
they close them down. I have I have never seen
them at CBS Riting.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Well, I'm wrong, but I see them all the time.
Maybe it's because we're shopping in different zip codes, but
I see them all the time. When I used to
shop at Target a long time ago. Target carried them
a huge selection of them. I've seen them in CBS.
I've seen them in Walgraens.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
I see them all the time grocery stores.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah, I've never seen mahogany and what's the what's the
Latin ones?

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yeah, I forgot.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yeah they have those as well. I mean I've seen
I see them all the time.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Yeah, I just don't understand why, because greeting cards, the
reason greeting cards existed is fresh things, the things you can.
Why would I want to do that with my land?
Looking they do little in my landlorder on the front
and what houses his business? If you don't just keep
on walking, right, you ignore black people like you ignore discrimination.

(02:34):
Why don't you do that?

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Well?

Speaker 1 (02:36):
I remember we was growing up. Everything was the DeVault position.
Like you know, if you had the flesh colored bandit,
but you put that black person put that on that
white strip of flesh on their base. When when a
black woman buy new panty holes unless you went wasn't
wearing lotion? Remember that had that flesh colored crown. And
nobody at the black school usually except to draw the
police or a substitute teacher if you want to, if

(02:59):
you want to to draw your mind, and that you
had to mix orange and blue together to make brow.
I mean, everything for them was even the medical even
the medical baselines are based on white males.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
So you got everything everything. You set the you set
these scores for intelligence, set the score for you can't
have a card? Wow? All right, coming up this side,
we're gonna be talking to Rapper and moving Rapper, movie
Star and Entertainment Mobile, ice Q plus plus SIBL works
and give us what you need to know. It is
the d L huge fell Yo.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
What's that?

Speaker 2 (03:33):
And it is your boys Skip see them? But y'all
don't care about that right now, y'all don't care about
I got my man ice cube with the bill. What's up?

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Skip man?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
How you living? Man?

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Man? Pretty fair for a square?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
All right? I can tell you, man, because I was
talking to Tony the other day and I said, Man, Cube,
let's see, we probably go back when we first met.
It got to be close to thirty. Yeah, it's got
to be close to thirty. And you still the same well,
I mean you richer, but uh richer, same same dude,

(04:02):
same dude.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Man. Yeah, you know you are too, which is great.
You know, it's cool that we've been in the game
a long time and we didn't let the game get
in us, so to speak. And you're still the same people.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Yeah, you mogal man, but we movies, music, Big Three.
We talked about this Big three baby.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Yeah, man, proud of it.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
First of all, Man, what made you just sit down
and say, yo, I want to start a leading Like
I mean you, how many years deep are we in now?

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Just the eighth season, but we nine years deep because
we had a COVID season we didn't play. But I
really was just like looking at at the landscape. You know,
basketball finals in and you gotta wait two months for
the NFL to start like a real game, right, So

(04:51):
I'm like, man, in these two months like every year,
I've been hibernating for like fifty years because it's boring,
Like it ain't nothing to get into. So that's when
I started thinking, what if it was a league that
could fit into that schedule?

Speaker 2 (05:07):
And hey, man, you know you a baller when so
he just said it right here. It was your own
personal board. Man.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Yeah, it was nothing to do I wanna start a league?

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Well for me, he started just so.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
He could watch his own I'm not I'm not I'm
not that crazy. Like, I'm not that crazy. I knew
if I'm feeling like this, right, it's gotta be millions
of fans that feel the same. Way right, Let's give
him something to get into. So that's really where it started.
If it was just for me, trust me, I would

(05:46):
spend a lot less money to see these dudes play,
you know what I mean, just get a gym and
do a pickup game and have him played. But but
to start a league, you know, I kind of felt like, yo,
it's a lot of sports fans is gonna love that
this league is here because now they can get into
something while they wait for football.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
You got stars too, though. You got dudes that can
play in the NBA today. Yeah, and for whatever reason
they not some of them.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
I'll tell you what it is. I'll tell you what
it is, skipt. It's it's the wear and tear. It's
the eighty two games. Like you can put any of
our players in the NBA game and they'll be successful.
But if they got to play the next day or
three games and four nights, that's when it starts to
be like yo, good. The body just can't recover in time.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
It's kind of like me and a pickup game. You know,
you you still play, skip man, I might take me
six months to recover, man.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Yeah, it's the recovery. So giving dudes a week to
get it back. Yeah, they fresh every time they play,
so you're getting the best of them in a half
court setting first to fifty. So it's a sprint, right,
So we get to we get guys that's not too
far off from when they play in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Far a skill level in that format. That's great, man,
it's a Big Three coming to your town. Make it
a point to come see them. Congratulations. And before I
want to say thank you, because I gave you a
phone call my dad for a day program is where
I do. I provide experiences and opportunities for kids that
don't have fathers in their lives. So when I call

(07:28):
and call Tony, I say, hey, man, I want to
take twenty kids to the Big Three game. You know
they don't have fathers. And you was like, here's the tickets. Yeah,
I want to meet them, shake the hand before the
game and all that.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
So thank you man, Thank you for doing what you
do for the kids in the community. And this is
so cool about having something like the Big Three, like
you can invite you know, underprivileged kids or just people
from all over the city as a guest. You know,

(07:59):
some people never been inside AAC and they live right
here and down some kids. This has never been in there, So.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Three driving past the riding bike past them.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Yeah, like like I did when I was, you know,
playing at the YMCA and Inglewood after practice, I would
ride past the farm and they was in their plan
and I hadn't been inside. So uh, it's great to to,
you know, have an event where you could bring kids
and families that you know normally wouldn't get a chance

(08:33):
to go.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Ice cube man. Thanks for hanging out, Big three.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
