Speaker 1 (00:00):
Thank you everyone for joining the Florida Keys Weekly Podcast.
I'm your host, Brett Myers again. Uh Happy to have
you back and we have a great show lined up
today with some performers heading here to Key West at
the Key West Theater. Before we get started. I want
to do some house cleaning here and just, uh, thank
you for listening. I wanna thank our listeners in Radioland
at 103.3 FM for you folks that get up early
(00:23):
out there. Also for the uh podcast listeners on Apple, Spotify, Amazon,
you can find us there. Of course, this show and
more and all the archives on our podcast and shows
at Keys weekly.com. Uh You can find us there as well. I'm, uh,
I'm pretty pumped today. I've got two incredible performers. I
was just watching some of their videos. They're here on
(00:43):
the phone with me now,
uh in our studio here in Key West. And this
is unlike some performers and some uh guests that I've
seen before I go to the Key West Theater and
our amphitheater regularly to see some big names and acts.
And I am as pumped up to see these gentlemen,
as I have been to see a show in quite
some time. Just the talent, the energy, the comedy, it
(01:04):
is hard to explain, but I'm gonna let them explain it.
I've got on the phone with me today. I've got
Martin Dube and Steve Diamond
and they make up the Dube and, uh, Dube and
Diamond dueling impersonators. Yep. I said that right. The dueling impersonators.
And they're gonna be, yeah. Yes, sir. They're gonna be
on September 22nd at the Key West Theater. You can
(01:24):
see tickets and we'll talk about that some more at
the Key West theater.com. But let's learn more about these guys. Uh,
Martin Steve, are you there with us?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yes, we are. How are you?
Speaker 1 (01:35):
We are doing great down here in Key West. We're
excited to get you guys down here. Uh Let me
ask you first. Thank you
Speaker 2 (01:40):
for having us. Thank you for having us. We're very
excited and uh uh Key West is a beautiful city.
So I, yeah, we're very excited about it.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Absolutely. Now, um, you gentlemen, I have to ask you first.
Uh It sounds like the answer is yes. Have you
guys performed down here before? And I apologize for not
knowing that or is this, is this, how many have
you just visited Key West before? Uh What's your Key
West background?
Speaker 2 (02:03):
I've been to Key West many times. I performed once
in the corporate business, but on the East side is
gonna be the, his first time. So, uh I'm very
happy to uh make him discover Key West, especially, you know,
when you never been there, you have no idea how
beautiful it is. Um So people are nice, uh, nice bar, the,
(02:25):
I saw the theater. It's completely an amazing place.
Uh We're gonna have fun that for sure. Uh So, yes,
I know. I know Florida pretty well. I've been uh
staying in Boca Raton for uh maybe uh 10 years. So,
uh I, I know Florida pretty well, especially, you know, we,
we're doing a lot of, a lot of shows in
gated communities in Florida. So, uh normally uh winter time,
(02:49):
it's a high season for us. So now uh that
we're coming in September, it's a new experience and uh
we're very happy about it.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Well, y you guys, have you say you that? But
you've performed in incredible places. I was reading your bio
on some information and, you know, over 20 countries from
the Academy Awards in Beverly Hills to Casablanca, Caesar's Palace
in Vegas. Uh Milan, the Moulin Rouge, uh an amazing
resume and you guys do and people might hear
me discuss this with you and they say, OK, we've
(03:19):
got dueling impersonators, lots of covers. You have live band
members up there. I'd like to ask you about that
as well. But y'all cover everything from Axel Rose, Bee, Gees, Eagles, Motown, doo-wop.
I mean, I, I was listening to the opera that
you cover and I got chill bumps. I was blown
away at the level of talent of you. Two gentlemen.
So I, I just wanna start out, I mean, I
(03:39):
guess you get this question all the time,
you know, and even Larry King, I mean, I, I
was looking at some stuff he said about you. He
says a must see and I said, ok, Larry King,
let me see. And he's right. Um How did you do,
how did this come about? And for people to really
understand they need to download before they buy the tickets
and this is gonna sell out. As soon as people
see you guys, it's gonna sell out. But how did
(03:59):
you two
incredibly talented people who could obviously do individual shows and,
and take your career path individually meet up, um decide
you're gonna go this route and then start uh performing
together and putting this act together.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Yeah, that's the thing, you know, uh uh we were
uh performing since a long time solo uh solo shows
and uh at the pandemic after the pandemic, I decided
to give him a call to see if we would
be willing to uh build a new show. Uh You know,
on its style is we, we're too impressionist, but we
(04:33):
have two totally different styles. So that's, you know, what
makes the show very unique.
Um And uh on my side, uh on the Dube side,
I do a lot of women. So on this side,
he's doing so many voices. Steve has been performing all
over Europe for many, many years. Actually. Do you want
(04:54):
to talk about that? Go ahead and explain them what
you did. You sorry, I, I was born with me
one second. Hey, Ozzie, can you, can you say hello
to our folks?
He went, where, where, where the fuck is, came with?
Where he, hey, one second. Are you? Good. You wanna,
or of course, uh uh Sharon and I, we'll convert
(05:15):
with and we'll convert to two of you guys. You know,
it's gonna be fucking funny, man. Yeah, you're right. Buzzy.
We gotta have a good time. That's for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Well, that's the thing I see you guys do this,
there's so much chemistry, there's this baffling talent. I mean,
there's just no doubt you guys don't need me to
tell you you're incredibly talented, the octaves the voice. Uh
Speaker 2 (05:38):
You know the funny part about this, that this show,
there's something for everybody. We're going back to life, you know,
your favorite, male and female for this personality with a
touch of humor. I mean, it's a very special show.
I think it's unique. There's nothing like that on the market.
So that's why I'm not trying to say if you're
coming to see the show and you don't like it,
I'm gonna give you back your money, give you back
(06:02):
your money back. You'll have your money back,
Speaker 1 (06:04):
don't you? The Key West crowd will not take it back.
There'll be too many drinks involved. They, they will not, uh,
they won't. So
now between Steve, between, I mean, Martin, between you and Steve,
how do you choose? There's so many different acts that
you do and you do them so well and you
get into character, there's humor, but there's also a lot
of passion behind it. I know. I mean, you guys
(06:25):
make it look so easy if I close my eyes
and I mean, I mean, this uh sincerely, if I
close my eyes and I listen to your covers and
your impersonations,
you, you're literally, it sounds just like the performers all
the way to the opera level that you, that you do.
But when I watch you, there's you, you get into character.
I mean, you're really up there doing it. How do
you choose uh the songs that you guys choose and
(06:48):
the performers that you guys impersonate and then does getting
into character make a difference? Do you feel like, do
you really, do you guys kinda close your eyes? Do
you envision that person or how tell me about the experience,
the transition.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Of course, when you, you know, when we brainstorm to
build a new number, uh it's a lot of work.
It's a lot of rear soul that's for sure. A
lot of listening because when you do impression the first
thing to do well, is listen, otherwise you can't, you know,
perform a, a good impression. Uh So, yeah,
I mean, uh it go, it goes with your background
(07:21):
too because uh when I, when I was maybe younger I,
I was always listening to uh Aerosmith Ozzy Osbourne but
I did like to listen the voice of Luciano P already.
So when I, when I started to take a voice,
(07:42):
uh voice lessons, I said to myself, why, why don't
you do both? Yeah. Rock and roll and opera, you know,
that's why I do Budget and Steve Tter.
Yeah. So that's why, you know, there's so many styles
in the show. There's some, there's something for everybody. This,
this is the good part about this show, you know,
and uh uh we're not the same generation on, on,
(08:04):
you know, Steve is a little bit older. So, and it,
and it shows and it shows
K Rogers. He's my little Kenny Rogers.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Well, I can, I can just hear between the two
of you, I can hear the banter. I can hear
there's a great chemistry between the two of you. Um
You know, so how often do you guys, go ahead,
go ahead.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
We know each other for a long, long time. We
were at the same agency back then. But on my side,
I was performing on the US side and Steve was
on the Europe side plus Quebec,
you know, so we've been traveling a lot. So after
the pandemic. Uh, the pandemic has been so tough. Uh,
we decided just, you know, to, to, to build this
(08:51):
new show do, do doling impersonators. Dupe Diamond. And the
first time we met, even if you knew, yeah, we
knew each other for a long time but, you know,
just like, uh, in a room high, high and, you know,
not really, uh, calling everybody, uh,
uh, every week. Uh, no, it was not that we
were not friend. We were just, you know, uh we
(09:12):
knew each other. We were at the same agency, but
no more than that. So when we started to work together,
to be honest, uh the first time was like, if
we've been working together forever. So the chemistry, like you said,
is there, of course, II, I consider him like my,
my brother, not him but me.
(09:33):
Well, no,
Speaker 1 (09:34):
I can tell I can feel it. I can really,
I mean, I know we're cutting up but I can
feel it. I mean, you guys are, you're enjoying each other.
You perform together. Um And we're on the Florida Keys
Weekly podcast and show with, with, um, with Steve and
Martin here who make up Dube and Diamond and dueling impersonators.
But you keep talking about when you met in the studio.
(09:54):
Where did you gentlemen first meet? Do you, do you recall,
do you know where you first met or when you
first met?
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Um I think it was my first show in Montreal. Yeah,
he was doing his premiere at the bar in Montreal
and I've been invited to go to the show and
it's the first time we met over there, I didn't
invite him. The, the Booker did.
Yeah. He was scared to have another impressionist in the room,
(10:22):
you know.
But yeah, we a and back then when he started,
he was doing already, Andrea Bocelli. And, uh, if you
saw the clip, I mean, he looks like him. He
sings like him. It's totally amazing. So that's why, you know, it,
with this show is fun because we do a lot
of duets. And so there's something, you know, going on
(10:46):
from the beginning of the show to the end
and not because it's our show. But for Canadians, we're
not that, that bad. You
Speaker 1 (10:55):
guys look great. My, my son is half French Canadian
and he's got the French Canadian side. He, he looks
good like you guys, he has great hair and he
looks great. So, but,
Speaker 2 (11:07):
uh, you guys go ahead.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Well, I was just gonna ask, I don't want to
cut you guys off. I want to hear you talk,
but I'm gonna ask you. I mean, uh, for the listeners,
you're not just doing the easy stuff
doing an actual rose you're doing. I mean, you're doing
people that are hard to impersonate. I mean, like voices that,
you know, no one would even dare touch on a
low level like karaoke you guys are up there doing
it and doing it in person, doing it in character
(11:33):
and doing it with voices that's, that match up to
any and all. Um And
Speaker 2 (11:37):
it's not only an audio show, it's a, it's a
visual show because we have a screen behind us. And
so you're part of the movie, there's something for every cues,
every song,
I mean, it's, it's quite unique. So, um yeah, I just,
just buy tickets and come see us. You're gonna have
a great time, that's for sure. And like I said,
(11:58):
you know, Steve, when he started, he was singing Oprah
like Crazy Andrea Bocelli. So now we have Maria Callas
who can do a duet with uh Edit Tia with
Josh Groban.
Uh There's uh uh Sweet Carolina, who his name? What
is his name? My dad, Neil Diamond. Neil Diamond
(12:19):
doesn't know he's my dad.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
We're talking Quebec. Can anybody do? Uh Does anybody ever
out that far?
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Actually, I, I'm doing Celine but not in our show.
Um because we're, we're building a new number for that. So,
but you'll see, we, we can talk about it right
now because we, we're still in the process but not
good enough to do in our show
Speaker 1 (12:44):
that after hearing you too,
who, who is the between the two of you? Who is,
who's your favorite that you've done to cover, impersonate? And
who is the most difficult or is it the same?
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Uh No, it's not the same. Of course. Uh, um, well,
go ahead on your side. One. Do you like to do?
Andrea Andrea Bocelli and Steven Tyler? Yeah. Steven Tyler. You
got it like you, you have no idea. You think
it's Steven Tyler on stage is so amazing. So, I
grew up too. I grew up to, uh, around my list.
So that's why I like to do him. Yeah. Yeah,
(13:20):
you're good.
So, uh, uh yeah, so, uh uh Steve Wonder is
part of the show. We have a disco Midle, everybody
are standing up and they're dancing with us. I mean,
it's a big party. We're going to New York at
two youth 54. So we bring them back memories, you know,
in the seventies and NZVBV, there's Elvis Frank Sinatra.
(13:43):
I mean, there's something for everybody from the eighties.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
You put,
you put a lot into this and you name all
those names. Do you have people from the crowd? How
often does somebody say, hey, you know, do this person?
Do you have those people in the crowd sometimes that
just think it's, you know, that you can just do
anything and is there or does everyone kinda get that
this is the real show is, is performance or do
you have that person
somewhere out there yelling out to you? Does that, does
Speaker 2 (14:07):
that
Speaker 1 (14:07):
happen
Speaker 2 (14:07):
if
it's the case, if it's the case and somebody asking
for a special request? I mean, you know, it's not
possible because the show is so tight. Uh But maybe
if they're asking something, maybe we can pitch something like,
you know, live just like that saying. Uh
Yeah,
(14:29):
just something like this, you know. OK, you wanna hear
a female voice? That's it. I'm gonna do one. Hey, Steve,
go ahead. Andrea. Make just a little note for her
for that.
(14:53):
Yes.
Oh
Speaker 1 (14:56):
My, my producer over here Ma Mason Sellers has got
tears in her eyes. Uh That's exactly how I sound
to myself in the shower. That's exactly how I sound
to myself. But um the uh that is just awesome. Do,
do any of these people you impersonate? Has anyone ever
reached out to you uh for good or bad and said, hey,
don't do it or hey, thank you or that was awesome.
Have you ever encountered one of the people that you
(15:19):
guys impersonate
Speaker 2 (15:21):
uh on the French side? Of course, uh You know,
there's a few artists, uh they came to see the
show on the Os market. It's something different. Um uh
n actually I on my side, I did the, the
opening act for the Pter Sisters uh many years ago
in uh in, in uh Jacksonville, in Florida in front
of 75,000 people.
(15:42):
And uh they were there. So I did a song
of them on stage and they were pretty amazed, they
came to see me after the show and they were
so nice to be honest, even if, uh, you know,
they're so big, uh, it's, uh, it's, you know, it's,
it's well known, uh, know everybody knows them. So I
was very, um, lucky to have the chance to meet,
(16:04):
uh, the pointer sisters and it's been a, a unique experience,
that's for
Speaker 1 (16:08):
sure. That's, now, were you, I know you do this
for a living and you're professionals. But did it add
an element of you being nervous knowing they were there
and Impersonating them or was it just, just business as usual?
Speaker 2 (16:21):
No, it's always, you know, even if we know that,
you know, no artists are, are in the room. Uh
It's always, you know, stressing a little bit, you wanna
be perfect. So even it's a good, it's a good,
uh it's a good feeling though, you know, we're stressed
but it's a good stress. Uh We're not going on
stage and scared to, to go perform, you know, after
(16:41):
more than 3000 shows uh together. I mean, uh it's not,
it's not about scariness, it's, it's more about
a good stress and you're ready to show what you
can do. And because, you know, night after night it's a,
it's a different challenge. It's a new challenge, especially right now,
you know, we're starting to do uh things around the
(17:01):
US and theaters. So it's a, it's a different style.
It's not like when you're performing on corporate business, you
need to adjust a few things.
Uh but yeah, uh I think we did a good
job with that. We have an amazing team, uh who
we are, we are working with, working with. So, uh, yeah, we're, uh,
we're on the right track now. The show is, uh,
(17:23):
I can't say 90 99% ready. You know, there's always
things to change, uh, and, you know, just to adding
a little, little song here or just an intro or something.
But, uh we're almost done. So on September 22nd in
Key West, you're gonna have uh quite a performance that's
(17:44):
for sure.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
I'm telling you. If, if anyone's listening, just, just Google it.
I mean, go to, you know, uh Dube and Diamond
Dueling impersonators. We have Martin Dube Steve Diamond here on
the Florida Keys Weekly Podcast. Um Now it's not just,
I mean, you guys are the act but it's not
like there's some DJ up there recording music. You guys
have a, an acclaimed group of musicians. I know there's
a guitarist. I mean, you've got some great band members
(18:06):
that come with you. Do they go to every show
with you and, and, and will they be in Key West?
And can you tell us a little bit about the band?
Speaker 2 (18:12):
No, not for, uh for the Key West uh show.
There's no band. So it's on track. Actually, we have
a band but we can't, we can't explain what's going
on right now with the surprise. So, I'm sorry. To
tell you that there's no musician live, but you're gonna
see something
unique and very different.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
All right, I like it. I like it. So
Speaker 2 (18:34):
the,
the, the, the view, the view, the visual, the sound.
This is all about our show. I mean, you know,
you're coming to air something because sometimes even if you're,
you know, you're in the audience and you're closing your
eyes just to see, oh my God. OK. This is very,
very good. It's very close. It's almost perfect. And then
(18:55):
when you open your eyes and you see the images,
you know, applying for the songs, it's totally crazy
Speaker 1 (19:00):
and it's not just, it's not just for adults, right?
I mean, is all ages can come to this and
enjoy it or do you guys encourage it just to
be adults or can, can the family come? What kind
of show?
Speaker 2 (19:09):
No, of course, it's a, it's a family show. I mean, there,
there's someone for everybody and uh you know, especially, you know, with,
you know, even the the kids are listening.
The old song like Pink Floyd is still number one selling.
I mean, Cooper and Lee Ali Cooper. Uh Lady Gaga
Cher is part of our show and there's there, there's
(19:31):
so many, it's, it, it's over 68 songs and uh
an hour, 40 minutes show. So there's a lot of songs,
a lot of songs and a lot of concept like
uh we have a battle of generation. This is fun.
He is taking care of the seventies and eighties and
I'm taking care of the nineties and the two thousands
and we're doing like a contest. Uh It's a, it's
(19:52):
a battle of generations. The Rock Bottle is, is something. Yeah,
because you do. What's the song again? Which one? Uh
The Rock Bottle, uh uh Party Party. Party Rock in
fro from his generation. But mine is a DC back
in black. So you see, it's, it's not the same
type of, of music because, you know, it's totally different
(20:15):
but uh it works very, very well. I mean, uh
people uh are asking for more all the time. So we're,
we're glad about our numbers. It's tribute at the same time.
You know, we're, we're uh I'll be on that fucking
train too. He was on the train
coming. What if I was traveling by train? Ozzie? Uh Yeah,
(20:36):
that's fucking crazy train. So the crazy thing that, yeah,
so um yeah, that's it. I mean, uh you know, with,
with uh with everything we've done in our career I
think was the perfect timing, you know, to put a
show together.
Uh especially, you know, with, with ages, you know, you change,
(20:57):
you learn things, sorry, I, he still there, you know,
I'm a granddad now. People, people keep asking me what,
what kind of advice would you give to your grandson?
What kind, what kind of advice I said, I don't
know don't take drugs. Are you sure you wanna say that? Yeah,
at least don't take mine.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
No, I, I'm gonna be this guy because if I
don't ask you this now, after this impersonation, people are
gonna say, why didn't you get him to do a
little Aussie line? Why didn't you give him a little,
a little Aussie taste? If uh can, can you give
us one little taste of Ozzie on a performance or
is that, am I, am I pushing my
Speaker 2 (21:38):
OK, he's gonna sing one.
Gazed into the window at the world. I died wondering,
will mother survive
the lights in the window? It's a crack in the sky.
(22:01):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
I love it. Now, you guys are having too much fun. You're,
you're great together. There's a lot of, you know, I
can just feel it. Do you guys, do you guys
uh when you do stuff like this, do you see
too much of each other? And you're like, hey, uh
you know, listen here, Steve and listen here Martin. Uh
I've had enough of you. I'm gonna go do my
own thing in Key West or will you guys go
out together and, and have some fun together or do
(22:22):
you guys go out and do your own thing or
how does that work
Speaker 2 (22:25):
together? That's the thing we've been performing solo for so
many years.
This is the new project we've been touring already all
over since the last two years. Uh, right now, uh
we are in, well, 33 rivers in, uh, in Quebec.
We're performing uh, two days, uh Friday, Saturday. Uh, we
(22:47):
start that last week and, uh, we're there until, uh,
until the end of August. And then we, uh, we
aim for uh USA in September. So we start that in, um,
we start that in uh New Jersey, then New York,
New York. We stopped in uh Atlantic City, then Newton
(23:07):
in Pennsylvania,
uh Georgie, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and then Key West and on,
on our way back, we go to uh Chicago and
uh you can, uh before coming back to Canada.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
That's incredible. That's incredible. Now, how, how well do you
know each other? Like Steve if I asked you, what
is Martin's favorite uh dessert? Would you know Martin's favorite dessert?
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Uh Yeah. Um uh chocolate cake, chocolate cake where he
goes with chocolate cake. That was your question, right? No, no,
you can't. No, you can't. Actually, it's on a diet.
So,
Speaker 1 (23:51):
so Martin Martin, what is Steve's uh favorite, uh, favorite movie?
Do you know his favorite movie?
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Her favorite meal?
Speaker 1 (23:59):
No, movie, like movie, cinema,
Speaker 2 (24:02):
favorite movies. Uh To be honest, I don't know, we
don't have time to watch movies.
I just
Speaker 1 (24:10):
thought I'd put you on the spot, put you on
the spot. Listen, uh but
Speaker 2 (24:14):
it's good. It's ok. It's fine. But to be honest,
we don't have time to watch to watch movie. It's uh, on,
on tour. Normally when, uh, you know, there's a, a good, uh,
game of sports going on. We prefer to watch that. Uh,
he's a baseball fan and I'm a hockey fan. So,
you know, there's always something to, to look at but normally,
(24:36):
you know, when you're traveling like that and you're performing
four or 55 days a week, I mean, you're always
on the road, you know. Uh, right now it's different. We,
we are a resident in the Three Rivers. So this
is fun because we're settled for the month.
But on the other side it's fun. You know, when,
when we're traveling too because it's, uh, you're going to people,
(24:58):
you know, meet people and people are so nice, they're happy.
It's always fun. People are always nice and especially nowadays, uh,
you know, with everything going on around the world, I mean,
it's important to, uh, to go see people and chat
with them and,
you know, just, uh, make, uh, you know, uh a better,
a better, a better way to feel. Oh, I'm sorry,
(25:21):
I have uh II, I have a Bob Dylan with me.
Go ahead, Bob I, and Oh, yeah, thank you, Bob.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Got the, got the movie coming out too. We'll plug
that later for uh semi, um, you know,
Speaker 2 (25:35):
you know, you know, it, that Tia, right. You know it,
that Tia, you know her, that's for sure. Right. Correct.
Hey, listen to that.
No,
Speaker 1 (25:56):
that's so awesome. That's so awesome. Uh Listen, we're in
the Florida Keys Weekly podcast. We've got the incredible duo
Dube and Diamond here with us Martin Dube, Steve Diamond.
They're coming to Key West, September 22nd. You can get
tickets while they last at the Key West theater.com doors
are gonna open at seven pm that night and then
an incredible show takes place at 8 p.m.
(26:17):
Um I can't wait to see you guys here in
Key West. I will be there. Uh Just, you will
Speaker 2 (26:22):
be there.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Oh, yeah, I will be there.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
You'll
come to see the show. So have you seen Sharon Sharon?
He's in the parking, he's looking for Sharon. Ok. Go
to me.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
You're gonna be so much fun. You're gonna bring this
right here to the theater and if you, if you
want to check them out,
Speaker 2 (26:41):
but the
question is we're having fun for real. You can visit
our diamond.com if you want, we have a nice uh
website to uh if you wanna go uh check it
out
and uh also on Facebook. Uh we have our page,
Dube Diamond. So if you want to write to us
and say you're coming to see the show, we are
very uh fast to respond. So feel free to write
(27:04):
us and we'll write you back. Let me
Speaker 1 (27:06):
make sure everybody understands, you know exactly how to type
in and, and so it's Dube in diamond.com. Is that correct?
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Exactly. Yeah.
Correct. Accent on Dube because Dube is French but uh it,
in English there's even on the website, there's no accent. So, yeah,
it's Dube Dube diamond.com. You have
Speaker 1 (27:26):
to dumb it down for us for us. Yanks, that's
for sure. Um But uh with that in mind, I'll
ask you the toughest question. Uh, just for you guys,
when is Quebec City going to get that hockey team back? When,
when's it gonna happen?
Speaker 2 (27:38):
To be honest, this is a mystery. Uh It's, it's
so crazy. I mean, Gary Bettman is quite, uh he's
quite a number, you know, and uh I, I don't know,
to be honest that the, the, the arena is built
already so everything is settled. Uh Quebec has the money
losing everything. We love the Quebec Nordic, we love the
(28:00):
Montreal exposed and I don't know if they, uh they're
gonna come back
Speaker 1 (28:04):
the Nordic. I tell you, I feel like you guys
be the ambassadors touring in the US on your tour,
get hockey back to Quebec City. And when they, that
first game, you guys open up the game. How's that sound?
I feel like that's,
Speaker 2 (28:14):
that sounds
good. Yeah, we like that. No, no, no, no. I
just wanna go back with fucking Black Sabbath and forget
about it,
Speaker 1 (28:25):
gentlemen. It has been an absolute pleasure. A lot of
fun talking to you guys and I cannot wait to
see you both uh here on September
Speaker 2 (28:32):
22nd.
Yeah, go ahead. We're very happy to hear that you're
coming to see the show. So we'll, uh, we'll be
able to chat in person after or before the show
as you want. You, you're free to come see us
and it's gonna be an honor to meet you
in
Speaker 1 (28:45):
person. I'm worried about that Aussie guy, but I, I'll,
I'll give it a shot. So, uh, but no, we
Speaker 2 (28:49):
don't worry,
you'll get drunk in the corner. No leaves in the
dressing room drunk already in the corner and I'm waking
up only when he's singing. I'm fucking so, so yeah,
you right now. So I can, I
Speaker 1 (29:04):
can tell, I can tell you two don't have any
fun at all and you will not bring that to
the stage at all. I can't wait. It's gonna be awesome.
The energy just on this call with you, this interview.
I can feel it and um I appreciate you guys
taking the time for the interview and we look forward
to seeing you here, Key West September 22nd, gentlemen. Absolute
pleasure to have you on the Florida Keys Weekly podcast,
uh Martin and Steve, uh Dube and Diamond doling impersonators,
(29:27):
Dube and Diamond uh dot com and get tickets at
the Key West theater.com, the Key West theater.com, September 22nd, gentlemen.
Absolute pleasure. Thank you again for being on the show.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Thank you very much for having us and uh can't

person.
