And I know that probably sounds, you know, a little
bit captain obvious, but this is a massive game. It's

the biggest game of the season. It is a to me,
it's the definition of a must win game for Carolina.
The playoffs have arrived early because of the way this
division is played out, and so this is like a
playoff game on Sunday, and I am hoping that the
atmosphere will reflect that in Bank of America Stadium. We
got Christmas Week coming up. I know people are going
to be traveling. The roads were insane today all over

the city. I'm sure we got people bouncing out early
to get to the Christmas holiday. So I am hoping though,
that on Sunday the Bank is full, it is loud,
that there's a true home field advantage inside that building.
And I've got I think Sunday could be potentially one
of those all time special moments that we talk about now,
like the job's not done. One win will not get

them to the playoffs, but they have to win this game,
like I have to win this game because the following
the Panthers will get the now number one seed in
the NFC Seattle Seahawks after last night's thrilling win. Although
no one told Al Michael's thrilling win in overtime last night,
the Seattle Seahawks are now the number one overall seed
in the NFC, so Carolina will have the opportunity to

knock off the number one seed in the NFC at
home twice after beating the Rams a couple of weeks ago.
But this is one Carolina absolutely has to have on Sunday,
and so it got me thinking smoked, like if I believe,
if we believe Sunday could be one of the more
special times and games and moments that we have together
in Bank of America Stadium. I would call out to

the longtime Charlotte sports fans especially, but really for anybody
to you, this is the question I'm gonna ask today,
on an addition to Monday headlines today, what is your
most memorable sporting event or moment in the history of
Charlotte or Carolina Sports. I'll extend it to the Carolinas,

going to be battling through some serious pain on Sunday,
and like everybody else, I am anxious to see how
that affects him, what he looks like when he's out there,

a good thing the Bucks pass rush stinks that they
don't have a pass rush either. Well, that's true. You know,
it's a good thing you're not facing you know, Micah

But that guarantees nothing, as we know, and so Ikey's
injury the knee injury concerning a whole lot of people.
But the good news is he is out there and

practicing today, so we'll see how it goes. I mean,
you've got yosh Nima to step in there if you
need to. Respectfully, that doesn't make a ton of people
feel better because there is a drop off there, obviously,
but otherwise it's smoke. It seems like this team is
going to be mostly healthy going into this game Sunday
against the Bucks.

Mostly well, uh, knock on wood, just so we make
sure everyone got three walk through safely this time around.

dollars does he lose in this situation?

I got to give him a lot of credit. Not
having Trevin Wallace not great, you know, I know the
linebackers have been to roast throughout the whole entire year
for the most part. Yeah, but you want to be
as bad as healthy as you can be a linebacker,
and now that you're not again, it gets a little worrisome.

Cherlist did pretty well in the second half, specifically in
that game against the Falcons, yep, but he also had
a couple of big coverage busts in the first half.

He's not a starting caliber linebacker, but he's a replacement
level linebacker.

He's a replacement level linebacker that you would like to
just keep on specialty.

He could have some good Sundays. Yeah, he's also probably
gonna be a liability, a smoke just said, you know,
in the passing game from time to time. I like
and I've said this many times, I like Claude and cherylists.
I like his physicality. I think by all accounts, he's
a good teammate. He understands the defense. So you could
have worse options out there that I believe. But it
is a concern going into this game, without question. But

it's been a concern to some extent for most of
the season because this linebacker situation is one that we
all identified pretty early on as probably being the key
area of the defense that was still lacking or lagging
behind a little bit. So when you get away from
the starters Trevin Wallace and Christian Roseboom, you're not gonna
feel great about that, but you could feel worse because

claud and Cherliss has some experience in Claude and Cherliss
has filled in capably at times for this team. A
lot of Monday headlines today, by the way, coming in

that we're all rooting hard for the Miami Dolphins the
next week is implausible as a win, there might be
because you know, if that the following week Panthers lose,

one game for the whole shebang.

Yeah, and you know, this is where it kind of
gets very interesting, is because you haven't played this team
at all this year, so you don't know really what
to expect. Look, I think this game kind of gives
me vibes to two games in Panthers history. For a bucks,
it gives me the Carolina Panthers vibes in twenty eighteen
when they took on the Saints.

Let's go get them, you know, because if we don't
win this game here, we're really in a tough situation
and we're basically scrapping and calong just to get the

You know, put Cam Newton down for the rest of
the year. Let's just limp to the finish line. That's
what that was like. And for Carolina, it gives me
the vibes with this fan base and just how this
team has been performing. Of the Saints game in twenty thirteen,
Week sixteen, the Monsoon, Greg Hardy Sack and Drew Brees

multiple times. Luke Keickley with twenty six plus tackles, and
then you know, Cam Newton gets that game winning drive
with Dominic Kickson and the place that was apparently one
of the only times the place is shook and it
was visible for it to be shaking. Yeah, that's what
it kind of feels like because just like in twenty thirteen,
not saying that the teams are exactly the same, because

they're not, but that was the team that was gonna
get Carolina to the playoffs for the first time since
two thousand and eight, which was a five year drought,
which was a long time at that point. This is
even longer drought. This is the longest drout in franchise history.
So I think given this opportunity, I don't think we're
gonna see no takeover. We'll see a couple of Bucks fans,
but I don't think that many are coming up here. Yeah,

because they live in beautiful Tampa, Florida, where it's like
seventy degrees all the time.

I viewed this as a game where Carolina has a
chance to do it. And I think Carolina, if they
get off to a hot start, Tampa will still respawn,
like you said earlier. But I just I don't know

why I'm this confident, Kyle, but I just I feel
confident Carolina's gonna win both these games.

I obviously I hope you're right. I don't know. After
the Rams game a couple of weeks ago, and I
told you this, I just it was one of the
coolest times I've ever had in Bank of America Stadium
that day, cold, rainy Rams fans are non existent, as
we found out and we know already, and so the
Panthers fans had the place all of themselves. There was

no takeover. It was all Panthers fans, and it was
only sixty or seventy percent full, but the place was rocking,
and Carolina was in it. And with every big play,
every chunk play touchdown, every big stop. The place was
getting louder and louder and a bit more aus and
so I just think the I know the opportunity exists
for that on Sunday. Smoke's right, we'll probably get you know,
a decent smattering of Bucks fans in here. But man,

if you're considering getting out to the stadium, if you're
on the fence, if you're a season ticket holder, and
you're just not sure, maybe your add's Christmas week and
get to the stadium. Please, Like selfishly, I'm asking you
because I want to see it. I want to be
a part of it. But we're going to finish that
game under the lights on Sunday night, right, I mean
very possibly, So like I mean, yeah, I guess that's
pushing it a little bit. The sun's going to be

going down, but the lights will be the lights will
be on, I guess, is what I'm thinking. But it's
got a chance to be an amazing atmosphere in there

the referees right my end zone. That is the best
time I've ever had.

get to go that night. So if I could hop
in a time machine doing what I do now, that

They set an NBA franchise record for most threes and

twice in a season, having done that against San Antonio

earlier in the year. They went off offensively. LaMelo Ball
returning from injury, I think, I want to believe, but
I think he's getting healthier. He'd certainly looked a part
last night. He was absolutely magnificent in every way you
hope LaMelo can be magnificent when he takes the floor.
He hit seven of those eighteen first half three pointers

in his return from a right ankle injury, and on
the game seven of nine from three point range in
the first half, finished eight of eleven from deep. Had
twenty eight points and thirteen assists in just over twenty
nine minutes. I mean, they were He was just tremendous,
and they, by the way, spoiled Trey Young's return from
injury last night from a knee injury. He only had

eight points and ten assists in twenty minutes. Not a
terrible stat line, but you know, eight points, ten assists
certainly not what you expect from Trey Young. But LaMelo
was incredible. Conka Nipple's mid range game, I told Smoke,
I mean, we know about the three point shooting, but
like that kid's his mid range deserves its own chapter
in the Bible. It's so incredible. I know that's probably,
you know, blasphemous to some people, but I mean it's

he is so much fun to watch. This team, when
fully constructed, is a blast to watch, man, Like, I
enjoyed that so much last night, Smoke, I know you
did too, And I hope it's not a tease. I
hope it's not just that, you know, flash of what
we thought and hoped they could be and then we
go right back to hard times as Hornets fans. But man,

LaMelo after a couple of really strong, impressive and timely
drives to the bucket with a step back three from
Iredell County and as it's going up, you got Eric

puts the Hornets up by six, and boy, I tell

you what, man it And that was just a blast.
That was so much fun to watch. And it was
great to see not just Con continue to be con
but to see LaMelo being peak LaMelo. That's that's just
what we all want, just for the kid to stay healthy,
to run the offense with the flash, with the tempo.
You know, he's not always going to shoot it like

he did last night, but he can shoot the hell
out of the basketball. And last night was just for
Hornets fans, even if it was only one night, and
let's hope it's the start of something else.

What a magnificent night of basketball. Yeah, Brandon Miller did
a great job as well. He's now stacked two good
games together. But here's one of the things that kind
of really took me for a loop. T Johnson line.
You starting to notice him, Kyle a little bit. Yeah,
he looks like he's starting to, you know, not look
completely lost most of the time. And this is not
compared to last year. This is compared to win before

If he develops and pops, that's a game changer for
this organization. And we have seen steady improvement here in
year two. You can't argue that that kid, I thought
took a whole bunch of unnecessary heat from people last year,

top ten moments, but his combination of size and athleticism

and the shooting ability, we always knew that if it
ever just came together for him with that complete package,
it could really just change the complexion of who they
want to be. And you're right off the bench last
night sixteen minutes, ten points, four rebounds and assist, had
himself a good night off the bench, but overall twenty
eight from LaMelo, twenty eight from con Kak Nipple for

who was six from twelve from Deep, twenty six for
Brandon Miller, who was great, had the highlight reel dunk,

I didn't watch Sports Center, but there's no way it

one big man away, good coach, Charles Lee, good new owners,
respected front office. All of a sudden, I just liked
the spot they're in and I love watching them. That
was Bill Simmons on the Hornets last night on his

he put that there, one big man away. I do

like what they have at that spot between Musa and Kalk,
But could they use, you know, know, another elite center. Well, yeah,
nobody's turning that down. If one comes along, They're not
easy to come by, but if this team can find one, yeah,
it'd be amazing. And hopefully Ryan Kalkbrenner continues to get
better and Musa continues to improve. But I think last
night was again proof that you're, you know, per the reports,
even the reports of you know, con K Nipple becoming

the face of the franchise and LaMelo Ball being misgruntled
from all those weeks ago that he of course shot down.
The core messaging within all of that was still Yeah.
But they'd still like to see LaMelo, Brandon, Miles, and
con together on the floor for an extended period of
time because they think they can play postseason basketball with
that group, and you know, you look up and we
knew this yesterday that they were still just on the

outside of the play in looking in, And here we
are this morning. They're two and a half games out
of the play in with fifty five games left to go.
So we got a minute here, But can you please
win five straight? Can you go out and win four
or five straight games? That would make me start to
believe that this team might actually be able to do something.
But it can't be one spot impressive win, two decent

wins sandwich by three or four losses with a bad
win in the mix. You've got to win four in
a row, five of seven, like they've got to go
on some sort of run here over the next week
or two.

Yeah, And I definitely think that there is a chance
for them to potentially do something like that in the

them to the playoffs, but they have to win this game,
like I have to win this game because the following
the Panthers will get the now number one seed in
the NFC Seattle Seahawks after last night's thrilling win. Although
no one told Al Michael's thrilling win in overtime last night,

in the NFC, so Carolina will have the opportunity to

home twice after beating the Rams a couple of weeks ago.
But this is one Carolina absolutely has to have on Sunday,

see our team punch their tickets to the Super Bowl,

and we molly walked the Cardinals. I mean it was awesome.
Went to the game with my mom. You could fill

Watched that one with a great deal of envy because
I was living in South Carolina, vent and I didn't
get to go that night. So if I could hop
in a time machine doing what I do now, that
is the moment, one of the key moments that I
would go back to.

Absolutely. And one quick thing too. You know, I hope
the team is as tough as you and smoke where

They set an NBA franchise record for most threes and

twice in a season, having done that against San Antonio

earlier in the year. They went off offensively. LaMelo Ball
returning from injury, I think, I want to believe, but
I think he's getting healthier. He'd certainly looked a part
last night. He was absolutely magnificent in every way you
hope LaMelo can be magnificent when he takes the floor.
He hit seven of those eighteen first half three pointers

in his return from a right ankle injury, and on
the game seven of nine from three point range in
the first half, finished eight of eleven from deep. Had
twenty eight points and thirteen assists in just over twenty
nine minutes. I mean, they were He was just tremendous,
and they, by the way, spoiled Trey Young's return from
injury last night from a knee injury. He only had

eight points and ten assists in twenty minutes. Not a
terrible stat line, but you know, eight points, ten assists
certainly not what you expect from Trey Young. But LaMelo
was incredible. Conka Nipple's mid range game, I told Smoke,
I mean, we know about the three point shooting, but
like that kid's his mid range deserves its own chapter
in the Bible. It's so incredible. I know that's probably,
you know, blasphemous to some people, but I mean it's

he is so much fun to watch. This team, when
fully constructed, is a blast to watch, man, Like, I
enjoyed that so much last night, Smoke, I know you
did too, And I hope it's not a tease. I
hope it's not just that, you know, flash of what
we thought and hoped they could be and then we
go right back to hard times as Hornets fans. But man,

how much fun did you have watching that last night?
It was like, oh, we're doing this. Oh oh my gosh.
They almost flew to lead. It's like, oh, here we go.

The way that people kind of grilled them for giving

was incredible. Nikhil Alexander Walker had himself a night twenty
eight points, but the Hornets overcame all of it and

how about LaMelo. They're up one twenty six, one twenty
three with I think just under thirty seconds left, and
LaMelo after a couple of really strong, impressive and timely
drives to the bucket with a step back three from
Iredell County and as it's going up, you got Eric
Kalla jelling the kill shot and it goes in. It
puts the Hornets up by six, and boy, I tell

you what, man it And that was just a blast.
That was so much fun to watch. And it was
great to see not just Con continue to be con
but to see LaMelo being peak LaMelo. That's that's just
what we all want, just for the kid to stay healthy,
to run the offense with the flash, with the tempo.
You know, he's not always going to shoot it like

he did last night, but he can shoot the hell
out of the basketball. And last night was just for
Hornets fans, even if it was only one night, and
let's hope it's the start of something else.

What a magnificent night of basketball. Yeah, Brandon Miller did
a great job as well. He's now stacked two good
games together. But here's one of the things that kind
of really took me for a loop. T Johnson line.
You starting to notice him, Kyle a little bit. Yeah,
he looks like he's starting to, you know, not look
completely lost most of the time. And this is not
compared to last year. This is compared to win before

he got sent that back down to Greensboro.

If he develops and pops, that's a game changer for
this organization. And we have seen steady improvement here in
year two. You can't argue that that kid, I thought
took a whole bunch of unnecessary heat from people last year,
certainly toward the end of the season when he had
a couple of let's just call him sports center, not
top ten moments, but his combination of size and athleticism

and the shooting ability, we always knew that if it
ever just came together for him with that complete package,
it could really just change the complexion of who they
want to be. And you're right off the bench last
night sixteen minutes, ten points, four rebounds and assist, had
himself a good night off the bench, but overall twenty
eight from LaMelo, twenty eight from con Kak Nipple for

who was six from twelve from Deep, twenty six for
Brandon Miller, who was great, had the highlight reel dunk,
which I'm pretty sure made the top ten this morning.
I didn't watch Sports Center, but there's no way it
couldn't have. Miles had sixteen last night on a pretty

Jon Musa gave him five points, six rebounds, two assists

I had somebody ask me a minute ago, KB, did

live stream, I forget which, but he said, hey, they
put up sixty six points in seventeen minutes against Atlanta

held on for a late win. Really fun style. They're
one big man away, good coach, Charles Lee, good new owners,
respected front office. All of a sudden, I just liked
the spot they're in and I love watching them. That
was Bill Simmons on the Hornets last night on his
live stream, and you know, it's interesting the way that
he put that there, one big man away. I do

like what they have at that spot between Musa and Kalk,
But could they use, you know, know, another elite center. Well, yeah,
nobody's turning that down. If one comes along, They're not
easy to come by, but if this team can find one, yeah,
it'd be amazing. And hopefully Ryan Kalkbrenner continues to get
better and Musa continues to improve. But I think last
night was again proof that you're, you know, per the reports,
even the reports of you know, con K Nipple becoming

the face of the franchise and LaMelo Ball being misgruntled
from all those weeks ago that he of course shot down.
The core messaging within all of that was still Yeah.
But they'd still like to see LaMelo, Brandon, Miles, and
con together on the floor for an extended period of
time because they think they can play postseason basketball with
that group, and you know, you look up and we
knew this yesterday that they were still just on the

outside of the play in looking in, And here we
are this morning. They're two and a half games out
of the play in with fifty five games left to go.
So we got a minute here, But can you please
win five straight? Can you go out and win four
or five straight games? That would make me start to
believe that this team might actually be able to do something.
But it can't be one spot impressive win, two decent

wins sandwich by three or four losses with a bad
win in the mix. You've got to win four in
a row, five of seven, like they've got to go
on some sort of run here over the next week
or two.

Yeah, And I definitely think that there is a chance
for them to potentially do something like that in the
next week or two. I will say, I don't know
if you've noticed, Kyle, but you know what the record
is in the last ten five and five. Yeah, Okay,
that's about a two game improvement for what they were getting.

That's a good point. So I think that is a
good sign.

Just got to hopefully think that they can get more
healthy now because I don't know how long Colin Sexton's

want to have someone like Colin Sexton come back as
soon as possible. The real question is now, when are
you going to get some of those guys back, and hopefully,
like what's been happening the last three years, you don't
