Like Nate's been around for a long time. Why are

thing because I don't know what team shows up this weekend.

Bryce is gonna hold onto the football to begin the
game like that. Those are the things that we just
can't count on with Carolina. Will they show up on
time for the game and will they dig themselves in
early hole?

And let me throw another one at you. We know
they can run the ball with Rico Dono, will he
run the ball? Will he come out and want to
want to make this a passing best, right, we don't
know how how it is Kanal is gonna call this game.
There's so many inconsistencies about this team. That's why you
just you just don't know. You just show up and
just like wonder what we're gonna see today.

Yes, yes, it's just like one hundred percent that Panthero says,
take the over. That's the lock smoke if you checked
the over recently, because the forty nine and a half
is the over, I would actually tend to agree with
him on that forty nine and a half. I'm taking
the overall day in this game.

I actually think Carolina's defense could have a good day
on Sunday. I mean, the Bears held this offense to
fourteen points a couple of weeks ago. I know they
dropped forty on Green Bay, so I know what they're
capable of. But they're still banged up up front, and
I think the way Derek Brown's playing right now in
concert with Ashawn Robinson, who's also playing well. I think
those guys that could have a real impact on this game.
No CD Lamb, you know, I think largely the secondary

is covered pretty well. Shaw Smith Wade looks like he's
actually going to play this weekend. So George Pickens is
a problem, There's no doubt about it. But I wouldn't
be shocked if the secondary has a good day.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Jake Fergus is a pretty good title. He's a good
and what can this team not do good times?

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Well, Darren Waller got off to a great start, but
then he disappeared in the second half.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
At times, they can't cover the tight end. So I'm like,
just hold on and they got a pretty good running
a game. They got a pretty good running attack too.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Although I do wonder, you know, after what we saw
last week. They just switched the responsibilities of the linebackers
and both of them look instantly better as a result
of it. Trevin Wallace, the second year kid, is now
calling the play. He's calling the defense with the green
dot on his helmet, and he felt more comfortable and
looked better. And then Christian Roseboom, they take the responsibility
off his plate and he leads the team in tackles

and he looks like a starting linebacker for a week.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
So hey, look it worked. Whatever they did, it worked.
Just keep rolling with it. I don't even have a
good explanation for that night. Keep it rolling, keep doing it,
keep doing what you're doing right there, because what you know,
the way they played in the second half, man, it
was out That defense was outstanding in the second half.
It was just against Miami that was fantastic. So yeah,
just keep it going, keep going, and I'm gonna throw

for Dallas looks like he's not gonna play with with.

You know, special teams has been kind of a question
mark this year for the Carolina Panthers. But that's good
news if he doesn't play, and he's a dynamic weapon,
so you take that away. You know, some things are
starting to stack towards Carolina favors.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
So yeah, can they finish That's my big question for
this offense. Can you finish drives? You can't kick field
goals and win this game on not against this team.
You can't kick field goals. Mike and Morriswell just said
he's taking the Cowboys. He's teasing them up to minus six, says,
Cowboys scoring touchdowns while the Panthers kickfield goals twenty one
to nine first half thirty three sixteen the final score.

That's my big fear is that I do think that
Carolina moves the football between the twenties.

Do they finish in the red zone.

I think the one thing I'd take away from this
this last game against Miami, the rookies in the game
winning drive, making all those plays, Evans, Jimmy Horn on
the fourth and five, you know, Rico cramps up, Etn
comes in, runs it down to the four yard line.
I love the way the rookie stepped up in the
game when the game was on the line. Who made

the most plays the rookie. Yeah, that's a very good sign.
It's a very good day for Dan Morgan too, by
the way, absolutely absolutely so. You know you're seeing some
of the signs, but it all comes back to consistency.
We noticed this team has it in them. They just
got to consistently do it. And that's what we're all
kind of waiting on, is when is this team consistently
going to do it and.

Hopefully this is this week. They had a good step
last week.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Let's hope they don't stumble up and kick the blocks
and it's like, oh well, back in square one. Maybe
they can do to get this consistency going and put
on a good show on Sunday and win the game.

And here's another thing too, Does it rain Sunday? And
if so, who does that favor? Does it favor Carolina?

It depends on how how much rain it is. But
if it's just like some passing showers here and there,
it doesn't effact.

But if it's wet enough that the football stays wet
throughout the course of the game, it.

Just becomes a ground and pound game. Yeah, you know,
that would once again stack and probably favor of the
Carolina Panthers, because we know Rico is gonna go on
and go ahead and prove a point. He's gonna run
as violently as he did this past Sunday against Miami
to show the Cowboys what they're missing, you know. But
just like I said, Cowboys can run the ball too.
With Williams in the backfield, and I wonder if Miles

Yeah, Actually, Steven Jones just revealed on one to five

latest I saw. He's done for the year. That's according

Joe person Court tweeted John Macatta's tweet that apparently he
said Miles Sanders knee ankle out.

For the season. Wow, that's a tough break that could be.

I mean, that could be a career there, considering how
the last few years have gone for Miles Sanders.

Yeah, it could, it could. But I mean, just back
to that rain part real quick. I actually like the
Panthers defensive front in that situation better than than than
Dallas's defensive front in that situation.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Absolutely. I mean, so you know, look, if they I
wouldn't be I wouldn't be surprised that they win. What
would surprise me is if they get blown out. I
just think that, you know that, I think this team
should be past that point. They should be able to
put on a good a good game this Sunday. There's
no excuse to get blown it exactly none. I mean
you've done that, We've done that. Don't go back to

that chapter in the book. Move on from that and
play a good a good game, a good competitive game,
and if you lose it, you just lose.

to care about this, but like I know, I've said
it multiple times, he's got bigger hands that he's got
the same size or slightly bigger hands than Patrick Mahomes.
I don't know why he doesn't have the Gerber hands.
I don't know what that thing's all about, but like
that's it's not really a thing. I don't I don't
think it's just he does need to go out and play.

Coy Schmidt. He's in the movie.

Real He helped with the actual setting up and blocking
out some of the scenes and stuff because the director
and I heard him talk about this last night on
your side of Tonight's show, He wanted the scene as
really as possible. So Coy was in the movie and
actually would sit there with the guy and say, hey,
we wouldn't set up a shot like this as a
news as a reporter and a photographer, and then he's like,

well how would you do it? So you know, that's
a it's a pretty nice touch. To that movie to
where he wanted it to look like real, the way
that was set up back in the day, and with
the way BTV and everybody else set up to cover
this this story.

But man, it's pretty neat.

It's neat that the Charlotte has this kind of story
and it's featured on the big screen.

There's nothing I'm not going to ask you what you've
seen nobody cares about. I can't tell you how little
I care about NBA preseason basketball. They chucked up one
hundred threes and that game Sunday in North Charleston Coliseum, Folks,
I do not care. I'm glad it's back, but I
don't miss me with any analysis of a preseason game
because those dudes are just out there stretching their legs,
getting some cardio in, saying hi, jacking up shots.

But Brandon Miller did get voted on the annual NBA
GM survey is second to be have a breakout season
in twenty twenty five.

What do you think of that?

I like it, and I think it could possibly be
that way. You know, he's a talent. He's a talent
and took a step back last year and a little
bit of that maybe had to do with, you know,
a new coach and a new way that he wanted
him to play, and you know he missed the last
part of last year. Maybe he just sat back and
just kind of observed and looked at some things. And

he's back and he's ready to go. Yeah, Brandon Miller's
gonna be a player for this team if this team
is really I don't want to sound I think he's
more important than LaMelo Ball is to me. His performance
could really elevate this team to another level. And I
think with everything that they they've done this offseason, I

think if LaMelo Ball gets hurt, as long as Brandon
Miller stays healthy, I think this team is going to
be okay. I think Colin Sixton can come in and
plug that hole. No, he's not LaMelo Ball, but he
can still. He's an NBA veteran that can affect the
game in many ways. It wouldn't crush them if Lamela
Ball gets hurt, and as long as Brandon Miller's out
there and everybody else stays healthy.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Between LaMelo, Brandon, Sexton, Trey Man like, you have guard depth.
You have real guard depth on this team.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Absolutely, So that's why I'm like they protected themselves from
a potential, you know, one guy catastrophically going down and
being out for the rest of the season. I think
they can still hold water in this East that's pretty
wide open, it's pretty up in it, pretty much up
in the air. So that's why I feel good about
this team. I'm not all the way in, but sure,
because the East is so hurt up, it's just so hurt.

Why not why not the Charlotte Horns this year. Yeah,
Pacers are down, you know, you know, you know, Halliburton,
Boston is down. You know, Jason Tatum, why not the
Charlotte Horns this year? So you know, why not any
of them? Like, you know, you're hear Steven Nay that
the Knicks are going to the NBA Finals?

Why not in this East? You know, I can't look
at him and like, are you crazy?

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Like no, The only reason I can think why not
is the center position.

the center position. And I'd love to be wrong about that,
and I hope the center position has some good things
coming now real quick, High school football tonight. Obviously we're
getting late into this season week by week. Let's just
start with the game of the week. What's the So,
what's the biggest game in the area tonight for you?

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Our game of the week is King's mount and Ashbrook
and is kind of starting that round robin between the Ashbrook,
Kings Mountain Crest. Those are the three undefeated teams in
league plays. So that round robin starts tonight with Ashbrook
and Kings Mountain. The kind of the interesting thing about
this one a couple of players from King's Mountain transferred
to Ashbrook, so they're going to get to take on
their old team tonight.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
So that's gonna be a really, really good game tonight.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
And look, we're at a point now where teams are
going to separate themselves at the top of the of
the standings and the Greater Metro Conference Olympic West Cobaris,
the winner of that game takes over sole possession of
first place in the Southern Peat. Shelby Lincolnton, the winner
of that game takes over sole possession of first place.
We're at that time of the year right now where
teams can really separate themselves and put themselves in a

great position to win the conference title. The only you know,
you win the conference cider, but that doesn't guarantee you
a spot in the playoffs.

So a lot of games tonight or you know, yeah,
we got some for first place, but a lot of
teams right now are jopping jock in for positions to
get their their RPI up to either get in or
to better themselves as far as a playoff seating. So
you know, the first place is not on the line
in a lot of these games, but it's a very
important game because you got to get that RPI up

if you hope to make the playoffs.

Oh yeah, there's some big ones out there tonight. I
mean you mentioned Chambers Independence. I believe there are a

both three and three teams still in the hunt, right.

the season. They were put in turf so I talked
to coach Hills earlier this week. This is their first
