(01:53):
past the hour today, our friend and intrepid reporter Selena
Zito coming by to discuss a story of heroism and
bravery out of a West Virginia coal mining community. You
don't want to miss that. At thirty three minutes today,
Penny Nance from Concerned Women for America will come on
and we're going to kick around the news of the day.
(02:15):
Let us start though with breaking news on the economy.
Economic growth projections were obliterated today and to discuss the
new numbers is Deputy White House Press Secretary Cush Deci.
Cush tell us, thank you for joining the show. By
the way, tell us, where did GDP land today? What
(02:37):
is the health of our economy?
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Thanks for adding me on Scott. Look, I think today's
GDP report, as you mentioned, blue out expectations economists. We're
expecting the our economy growth by about three percent three
point three percent in the third quarter of this year,
and instead it grew by four point three percent, and
it's almost a third higher than econdists were expecting. And
I think it's just the latest that vindication over the
(03:01):
President's economic agenda that continues to pay dividends for the
American people.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
What are cush the reactions in the White House today
from the President down through his economic advisors. I assume
they range somewhere between elated and I told you so.
How is the mood in the building?
Speaker 3 (03:22):
I think, you know, I think it's it's a lot
closer to I told you so. I mean when you look,
when you pars through the details of this, of this
top line number, you know, you see one vindication for
the President after another. We've heard for so long about
how you know tarwerfs are going to cause inflation, And
last week we saw our CPI report that was also
well below expectations, and looked at the GDP report, consumer
(03:44):
spending is very strong. The American consumer continues to spend money,
continues to go out and go shopping. And furthermore more importantly,
when you look at the export and import part of GDP, exports,
American exports are surging thanks to this president's trade agenda.
When you look at all of the free, the excise
me the trade deals that this president has signed, the
fair trade deals that have paved the way for American exports.
(04:06):
Now we're seeing a surgeon exports that are driving growth.
We're also seeing you know, even in the imports, we
saw modest surgeon imports. But even then those imports were
for capital goods, the machinery and equipment we need to
manufacture in the United States. Again, so it's not just
good news now, but we're seeing so many little nugtive
of good news that that are are sort of leading
indicators for future good news to come for our economic revival.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Couse, we've heard the President and Secretary Best and Kevin
Hassett and other people in the administration predict a booming
economy in twenty twenty six. Is today's GDP number the
beginning of that boom.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Absolutely. Like I said, you know, when you look at
the growth and investments and in capital spending capital expenditures
by American companies. When you look at the trillions of
dollars in investments that are pouring in from companies ranging
from Apple to the TMC to TA some seats in
Navidia to GM, you are seeing a revival of American
manufacturing and American innovation at the likes of which haven't
(05:06):
been seen in decades. And I think as we go
into the new year, as our policies continue to take
a fact, when you look at the deregulation, you know
we're cutting hundreds of regulations. For each new regulation that
we are implementing, some are slashing regulations. When you see
these tax cuts from the one big beef of a
bill to take a fact at americancy, a nice tax
we fund early next year, when you see these companies
(05:27):
invest more because of the full equipment expensing, I think
you're going to see the totality of our economic policies
compute to payoffs and commute to accelerate growth and put
a downward pressure on inflation, which is we've been seeing
already for the past year.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Cush Desai is Deputy White House Press Secretary for President Trump. Cush,
let's talk about a couple of issues that will be
on the agenda when Congress returns in January. First, healthcare.
Is the President having conversations with Congressional leaders over this
Christmas holiday about where to head next with the healthcare debate.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Look, absolutely, the administration is in regular touch with the
republicas on the Hill and what we can do to
you know, finally fix the American healthcare system. I mean,
the Unaffordable Care Act really is done a number on
American healthcare. You know, insurance companies have done really well
from Obamacare, but everyday Americans really haven't. And so you know,
the solution that Democrats that wanted to push on the
(06:25):
American people on us is to just throw more money
at the problem, throw more money at insurance companies, and
hope the problem goes away. But you know, when you
throw more money at a problem, it doesn't make the
problem go away. It just makes a problem bigger. And
I think when you look at what this administration has
already done, for instance, on these MFN drunk deals, where
we have created structural change in the global pharmaceutical landscape,
(06:48):
global pharmaceutical industry, where Americans are paying the same drug
prices as people in other countries. I think it shows
that this administration is serious address and the rude causes
of our America's broken healthcare system cush.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Are we to expect the President back out on the
domestic travel trail come January? We saw him the other
night in Pennsylvania at a rally. We've seen him in
North Carolina, we saw him address the nation. Are we
going to see an active travel schedule out of the
White House for President Trump after Christmas?
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Absolutely? Look, I think that being on the campaign trail,
being on the road is President being really in his element.
And I think we'll see more and more the President
criss cross across the country to again where mind Americans are,
the great progress we've made, turned the page on the
Biden economic disaster, and all the work we're going to
continue to do to again restore the historic economy Americans
(07:41):
experience in the first term. So yes, I think you'll
see a President Trump traveling on the road a lot more.
And I think that's good for him. I think it's
good for the patriots across the millions of patriots across
our country who are always happy to see and hear
from our president.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
First ten, all right, that's Cush Desigh, Deputy White House
Press Secretary. One more quest question before you go. It
happened after we went off the area yesterday. Can you
give us thirty seconds on the President's announcement regarding battleships.
We are woefully behind in ship building. The President is
accelerating this. What did we do yesterday and when will
(08:15):
we see the first ships in the new Trump class battleship.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Devolve. The President unveiled the new class at the Trump
Class at battleships that used the best of modern technology
to really rebuild our navy and rebuild our military. So
Americas can rest assured that you know we're are. The
American fighting force is at its best. So I think
the coming months here, coming years here, I think you'll
start seeing America pump out these battleships.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
All right, Very good, Cush Deside from the White House,
thanks for joining us here on the Scott Jennings Show.
The headline is economic growth, obliterating projections. The US economy
growing at a robust four point three percent annual pace
in the third quarter. That is the strongest growth in
two years, according to new data released by the government
(09:02):
on Tuesday. This is Scott Jennings on the Salem Radio Network.
A quick word from our friends at pure Talk. Pure
Talk Wireless, my wireless company. They had a big year
last year thanks to you. Because you're a consumer, you
decide who am I going to spend money with Pure
Talk or am I going to go with one of
the big guys. And at pure Talk in twenty twenty five,
(09:23):
they had a record breaking year because consumers made the decision,
I'm dumping the big guys. I'm getting rid of the
junk that I don't need. I'm going with an American
company with a US based customer service team that offers
me a low price and good customer service. That's Pure Talk.
Because of their record year, they were able to ramp
(09:43):
up their philanthropy their charitable donations over a half a
million dollars to America's Warrior Partnership. They take care of
preventing veteran suicide. Pure Talk is a good company. It's
my wireless provider, and increasingly it is becoming a wireless
provider for all of you. So for everyone in the
pure Talk family, thank you for a robust twenty twenty five.
(10:06):
Thank you for your trust and God bless America when
we come back a heartwarming story. The unsung hero of
Rolling Thundermine, Selena Zito has it. It's Scott here on
the Salem Radio.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Narror Angeltree Christmas campaign with our friends at the nonprofit
Prison Fellowship. You know, there are literally thousands of children
all over America who have a mom or a dad
in prison. That means they won't see their parent on Christmas.
That's why angel Tree is so important. You can put
smiles on the faces of children who, through no fault
(10:39):
of their own, are often struggling at a time of
year that's supposed to be full of joy. There is
an Angeltree banner up at Scott jenningshow dot com.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
You can make a donation right there.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
It only takes thirty dollars to bless a child who
will receive a special present, a gospel message, and a
personal note from their incarcerated parent. Again, the cost to
help bless one child with Angeltree is only thirty dollars,
less than a pizza and a Diet Coke somewhere, Or
if you're feeling generous, one hundred and fifty dollars will
bless five children of prisoners with an extra special Christmas.
Just go to Scott Jennings Show dot com, make your
(11:11):
generous gift online or phone our special donation number eight
eight eight two O six two eight five y five.
That's eight eight eight two o six two eight five
five and show the love of Christ through your donation
to Angel Tree.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
I want to thank the storm Bromp No thanks to
the street that's making glue news comment and the stories
in facts the mainstream media refuses to discuss.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
It's the Scott Jennings Show.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
It's Tuesday, December the twenty third Scott Jennings with you
on the line with me is our friend. Selina Zito,
one of the best reporters in America. National political journalist
and author of Butler, the story of President Trump's near
assassination in Pennsylvania. She is best known for her on
the ground reporting from America's heartland. Selena, I know you
(12:06):
are up to your elbows in cooking Christmas dinner for
forty people in the Zeito family, So thank you for
taking a moment to talk with us here on the
Scott Jenning Show. Oh.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I would not miss it for the world. It's my
dad's eighty nine first day and we celebrate the feast
the seventh fish.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
That's amazing. Happy birthday to your dad. That is that
is so good. And your family's all gathered well, that's
that is wonderful. You before you got into your cooking
and your celebrations. Published a story in recent days called
The Hunts The Unsung Hero of Rolling Thundermine. A tragedy
took place at the Rolling Thundermine in West Virginia back
(12:49):
in November. Out of that tragedy, a hero was born. Selena.
What is the story of the Rolling Thundermine flood and
the events that took place back in November?
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Oh, you know, it's it's such a sad story and
and it happened. I've been to that mine and it
happened about on the two weeks after I was twelve
hundred feet under the ground in a different mind there.
The mapping in a coal mine is really very precise.
(13:20):
You know what is above you, you know what is
below you. And the only thing that can sort two
things that can sort of disrupt the whole, uh, the system.
And it rarely happened. And that's either uh, some sort
of toxic gas that's created from nature or water, and
(13:47):
that's what happened to these miners. There were seventeen of
them trapped, and the hero of the day got all
it's got sixteen of them, got seventeen of them out,
I should say they were eighteen trapped. And he served
in the military. He was recognized for his bravery over
(14:12):
in Iraq and Afghanistan and saved people there. Came home,
wanted to live near his hometown. One, you know, married
a local girl, had a couple kids, and you know,
found that the mining company found that he had great
leadership skills, so he soon he quickly rose up and
(14:34):
became a supervisor. He made sure every single one of
his men were out, and he did not get out.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Yeah, the man's name in West Virginia who is the
hero of Rolling Thunder is named Steve Linz Lipscomb. And
as you said, Selena, there were seventeen on his crew.
And so back in November, the rising water was filling
up the chaff there very rapidly, and somehow Steve Lipscomb
(15:06):
got everybody out, but at the last moment he was
not able to save himself. It's it's a tragedy. I mean,
he's a hero, but it's an absolute tragedy. And as
you mentioned, he's also a military hero. He had a
purple heart from his military service.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
YEP.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
I talked to his widow and she said, I just
don't want anyone to forget his name. And people just
turned out for his service. I talked to the Department
of War. They sent down a cold guard, they sent
(15:44):
down several people to honor him at the funeral. The
funeral was held at his high school. And from all accounts,
Steve was was the kind of guy that you wanted
as your friend, your brother, your neighbor, and the guy
you worked with and and he understood purpose and he
understood sacrifice, and he displayed both of those that day,
(16:07):
just as he did over in the Middle East. And
there are seventeen families that had Thanksgiving because of him,
and they had a Christmas because of him.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
That voice you're hearing on the show today Selena Zito,
one of the best reporters in America. You often read
her dispatches from America's heartland. This heartbreaking dispatch you can
find in the Washington Examiner. The headline is the unsung
hero of Rolling thunder Mind. So as you pray this
(16:39):
Christmas and you're with your family. Say a prayer for
the Lipscomb family. Steve Lipscomb the unsung hero of Rolling Thunder.
He saved seventeen men and a terrible flood in that
mine back in November, and we are remembering him and
his service to his community and to our nation on
(16:59):
this Selena Zito, thank you for joining us. We're going
to take a break when we come back. Penny Nance
from Concerned Women for America is here. It's common Sense
for the American people. Scott Jennings on the Salem Radio Network.
(17:24):
It is Tuesday, December the twenty third, Common Sense for
the American people. Scott Jennings with you today. A tough
note to read to you all today. Some of you
probably remember former Nebraska Senator Ben Sass was in the
Senate for a while and then he became the president
of the University of Florida. He left that post sometime back.
(17:46):
He has issued a statement today announcing that he has
been diagnosed with metastasized stage four pancreatic cancer. It is
a death sentence, but he has issued a statement on
his social media at Ben Sass b nsassee that is
worth reading. And I just wanted to make mention that
(18:09):
Ben Sas is a great American and a great patriot.
If you haven't read his book The Vanishing American Adult,
Our Coming of Age Crisis and How to Rebuild a
Culture of Self Reliance, I highly recommend it. So our
prayers today are with Ben Sass and his family. Coming up,
Penny Nance is our special guest conversation. First, a word
(18:31):
from our friends at the Prison Fellowship on behalf of
their Angel Tree campaign. We are so blessed by your generosity.
So many thousands of Salem listeners have participated in this campaign.
Thousands of deserving boys and girls, little kids are going
to experience the joy of an angel Tree Christmas thanks
(18:53):
to your generous gifts to the Prison Fellowship. They get
a gift, they get a note from their parent in prison,
and they get the good news of Jesus Christ in
the form of a Bible. Now Christmas is just two
days away. If you still feel led to do so,
you've been thinking about it, but you haven't done it yet,
I would can ask you to consider going on Scott
(19:15):
jenningshow dot com, clicking on the Angeltree banner and finally
getting in your gift Angeltree will put it to use.
I promise you it's a good charity. The money goes
to the kids. Let's hear from George Carter from the
Prison Fellowship.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
It's so important that the community gets involved in something
like this because these kids, you know, they're the innocent ones.
They're not the ones that committed crimes. It was their parents,
and so they already feel just pain, you know, the
loss of a parent that's not there, and to be
connected with someone who represents their parent really means a lot.
(19:53):
I mean, it means the world to these kids.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Again. To get involved, go to Scott jenningshow dot com,
click on the Angel Tree banner at the top of
the screen. Thirty dollars change a Christmas for a kid
who's got a mom or a dad in prison, and
it's well worth it. I've done it. We've had several
people come on the show who've heard us talk about it,
who did it right on the show, including coach Bruce Pearl,
the legendary basketball coach. I'd love for you to join in.
(20:19):
Christmas is around the corner. Do something good, help the
kids in the Angel Tree campaign. It's Scott Jennings on
the Salem Radio Network joining us now. Penny Nance the
president and CEO of Concerned Women for America, one of
the nation's largest conservative public policy organizations for women. Penny
(20:39):
is a leading voice on family policy, culture issues, and
religious liberty. Penny, good to chat with you, Merry Christmas.
Welcome to the Scotch.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Show, Christmas. Great to be on with you, Scott.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Yeah, thanks you for coming by.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Thank you on this platform.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Yeah. The last time we saw each other, I guess
we were battling it out on one night. Yeah, And
I thought, I thought, not only are we connected here,
we have some mutual Kentucky connections as well, don't we.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
We do. Absolutely. My dad was a pastor in Kentucky
for he pastor in Tennessee and Kentucky for fifty one years.
He's passed on now about five years ago. But I
grew up in Paintsville, Kentucky, which is eastern Kentucky. It
was a great place to grow up. It's still a
great city. I love going back every now and then.
But I went to Liberty University in Virginia and then
(21:30):
moved on up north and went to Washington, d C.
To the Big Bad City and went to work on
Capitol Hill as a young woman and just never.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Left Paintsville, Kentucky, home of the John Pelfrey, the pride
of Johnson County. Out there, Kentucky Wildcat.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Yes, and we have to see those great Oh yeah,
Phil Tigers coach Runyon, who became I went back to
visit on too long ago. I was speaking to one
of the local Republican clubs. It's like I was still
like Ruppel steel Skin, like I woke up and you know,
it is a whole nother world. I feel like I've
just you know, been there, been asleep, and our coach
(22:05):
was the mayor, and one of the thugs in high
school was on the city council, and everybody was. It
was really fun to be there.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Absolutely, you gotta love small town America. Let me get
into the news with you, Penny. I want to get
your reaction to what we saw at Amfest this weekend,
the Turning Point USA rally out in Arizona. On the
one hand, we saw thousands of excited and elated Turning
Point fans who were in the auditorium. On the other hand,
(22:37):
we saw a little back and forth up on the
stage as you absorbed what you were seeing at Amfest.
What was going through your mind and what's the state
of the conservative movement at least as it relates to
the issues being discussed out in Arizona this weekend, And.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
That is a great question. I love what you said.
Scott and I a couple a few weeks ago wrote
a piece at on our website right now, and I
talked about a cancer that I see growing on the
conservative movement and I discussed that, you know, back in
nineteen fifty five. Oh what's his name? He started? I'm
(23:15):
having a senior moment here, But anyway, there was like
a real effort made to keep out, you know, people
who were associated with the KKK and conspiracy theorist in
the movement, and you know, we there was some decisions
that were made, and they were I'm sure hard at
the time, but they were important and it allowed the
movement to flourish and to grow and to be healthy.
(23:39):
And I think, you know, certainly no one's against you know,
the free market of ideas in the First Amendment. But
there's a big difference between recognizing and discussing issues and
understanding that there are other people who have different opinions
and giving them a platform to spout hatred and very vile, evil,
(24:05):
honestly opinions that are hurtful and are disgraceful and not
something that as Christians that we should be in favor of.
I mean we you know, I'm talking about Nick Fuintes
for instance, the fact that he is I in my piece,
I have links if anyone who cares to see him,
brace yourself. But the things that he says that women
(24:26):
want to be raped, and you know, the words that
he you know, admires Hitler and Stalin and all the
racist rhetoric like that can't be part of our movement
and we need to call it out where we see it.
It's a time for moral clarity, I believe in our nation.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Yeah, I agree with you. And some people that have
quite large followings have really gone off the deep end.
One of them is Candace Owens. Yeah, in my opinion,
I mean, she's been doing nothing short of terrorizing Erica Kirk,
a grieving widow since Charlie was murdered, with these conspiracy
theories and connecting it to Israel and all this nonsense,
(25:02):
and made Erica Kirk go to Nashville and meet with
her all four. I guess the purpose of monetizing her
podcast and self aggrandizement. I've been shocked at this terrorism
that's going on against Erica Kirk. And you know, I
think political debates and foreign policy debates and okay, these
are reasonable things. Terrorizing a grieving widow totally beyond the pale,
(25:25):
completely unreasonable.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, it's absolutely disgraceful. I mean, I don't understand what
happened to her or where things change, or maybe they didn't.
Maybe there was just a fair amount of narcissism there
all along and we didn't know it. That what's happening
now can't be tolerated, and we shouldn't turn a blind
eye to it because it hurts our movement. It harms
our movement. The Vikromaswami wrote a great piece in The
(25:50):
New York Times about what it means to be an American,
and I thought really sort of recalibrated for young people
the fact that being an American that isn't based on
your skin color or how long you've been here. You know,
your family came over the Mayflower, or you're you know,
a Scotch Irish nobody like my family or you know whatever,
(26:14):
or even your religion it's about, you know, being a
part of a nation and the ideas around being American,
And of course there's a legal component. Part of it
is actually the respecting the rule of laws and being
willing to live within the boundaries of the United States,
and being open to religious freedom, even if it's not
your religion. And so I see what's happening in Great
(26:38):
Britain right now, and I was recently over there and
had a very enlightening conversation with a driver, a cab
driver over there who was Pakistani Muslim and their views,
and you know, they're headed for a They're headed for trouble.
And we have to be very clear about in our country,
we do believe in assimilation and we need to be tolerant,
(27:00):
but we also need to call out whether it's Sharia
law or whether it's white supremacy in our own movement.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Penny, let me shift focus to international matters. I want
to talk about Nigeria. Islamist groups are massacring Christians in Nigeria.
In your opinion, is the international community doing enough to
confront this? Are you happy with the Trump administration's focus
on this. What's your view on what's happening to the
Christians in Nigeria.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
For the first time, we have the US State Department
actually focusing on what's going going on right now, to
the point that President Trump is working with the US
Commission on Religious Freedom and has moved Nigeria over into
the standard where there can be repercussions for what's happening.
(27:51):
Because the President of Nigeria has ignored what's happening. People
within authority, within government perhaps are even part of the situation,
but they're certainly not stopping it. And President Trump has
taken this on and I'm so grateful for him because
suddenly there is a discussion happening about it, and he
(28:12):
has learned Nigeria that they cannot go on turning a
blind eye where Christians are being slaughtered to the suit
of fifty thousand just in the last few years. But
almost every Christmas there's another incident, and there is now
you know, because they love the thing is you know
what's coming, because they love to tell you about it.
(28:33):
These terrorists love to take credit for the evil that
they do to God's children. And they're already saying that
they're going to kill people on Christians, kill Christians on Christmas.
So I would just ask your audience to pray. Like
the US government can't stop this from happening immediately. They
may get involved and may do more, but regardless, God
(28:56):
in Heaven has his hand on these people, these young
girls that were just kidnapped from Saint Mary's Catholic School
a few weeks ago. Only one hundred of them have
been returned. Out of three hundred, two hundred young girls,
even little children, little toddlers are being held by terrorists
(29:16):
and perhaps sold into sexual slavery. In fact, probably are
being sold into sexual slavery.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Penny, where do we find Concern Women for America on
the Internet.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Go to Concernedwomen dot org and the piece that I
just talked to you about on talking about the cancer
on our movement is on there with all the video proof,
all the receipts, and then also a piece on what
we just spoke about about the Nigerian Christians.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Penny, nance Concernwomen dot org. Thanks for joining us on
this Scott Jennings show, and Merry.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Christmas, Mary Christmas, Scott, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Penny. All Right, we're going to take a break. First,
a word from our friends at Pure Talk, my wireless company.
I've been using puer talk now for a few months.
Great service never fails, five G super fast. Everything you
need coming from pure Talk. My mom even bought peer talk.
She told me the other day she called up pure Talk.
(30:11):
She said, I'm Scott Jennings mom. They gave her some
Pure Talk. She's very happy with it too. Pure Talk
was attracting customers like crazy. Last year they had a
record year and because of that they were able to
donate more money to charity. They do a lot for
veterans charities, including America's Warrior Partnership. They are on the
front lines of preventing veterans suicide. So as a consumer,
(30:33):
you got a lot of power. My advice pick companies
that support American jobs, support American heroes. Pure Talk's one
of them. Everybody in the pure Talk family is grateful
from all of us to you. Thank you for your
trust and God bless America. Well wrap up the show
when we come back. I got a few thoughts on
jd Vance here on the Salem Radio Network.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Horse Horse.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
It is Tuesday, December twenty third, Christmas right around the corner.
I hope your shopping is done. Sounds like based on
the economic reports today a lot of Americans have gotten
their shopping done. That's the big news of the day.
Gross domestic product shattering all expectations when the numbers came
(31:24):
out today, four point three percent growth in the third quarter.
The expectations were three point three percent. And mind you,
this is all happening while we have tariffs, which the
experts said we're going to destroy the economy and send
it in to a recession. And it's also happening while we
have net negative immigration. We have more people going out
(31:48):
than coming in. The experts also said that was going
to destroy the economy, the recession that never comes. That's
what's happening right now in America. With GDP also, I
mentioned this earlier, but a sad note on our friend
Ben Sass, former Nebraska senator, announcing he has late stage
(32:09):
pancreatic cancer and he has said flatly he is going
to die, not sure when, but not long. So our
best wishes and prayers out to the SaaS family. I
wanted to wrap up the show today by talking a
little bit about Vice President jd Vance. I've been part
of a few panel discussions on CNN the last couple
of days where there are playing clips of vants and
(32:33):
playing clips of people other people trying to say things
that you know you may or may not agree with,
and ascribing these things to Vance and blaming Vance for
some sort of coddling of anti Semitism in the Republican Party.
I'm going to read you a quote. Anti Semitism and
(32:55):
all forms of ethnic hatred have no place in the
can Conservative movement. Whether you're attacking somebody because they're white,
or because they're black, or because they're Jewish. I think
it's disgusting. That's JD. Vance in his own words. I've
(33:16):
heard people try to ascribe the views and the support
of Nick Flintes, one of these miscreants who's come along
to JD. Vance. Let me read you another quote. Let
me be clear. Anyone who attacks my wife, which by
the way, Flintdays did, whether their name is Jensaki who
(33:40):
works at MSNBC or Nick Flintes, can eat you know what.
I can't say it here on the terrestrial radio. That's
my official policy as Vice president of the United States.
There's two quotes from JD. Vance denouncing anti semitism and
ethnic hatred, denouncing Nick Fuenttes quite clearly. Now, if you
(34:08):
look at the discourse about what happened to Turning Point, USA,
and you look at how cable news is covering this,
you might get a different story that somehow Vice President
Vance missed a moment or didn't do what he was
supposed to do. The Vice President is quite clearly on
the record on these matters. I thought he gave a
(34:32):
very good speech at Turning Point. So did the people
in the crowd. They took a straw poll. Eighty four
percent of the thousands upon thousands of attendees said that
Vance should be the next Republican nominee. The next guy
in second place was Marco Rubio. He got four percent,
(34:52):
and he's already said he's going to support Vance if
he runs. So I think you have people out there
that are wanting jd. Vance to referee fights between podcasters
or something. He's not going to do that, folks. He's
the Vice president of the United States. He's not going
to referee squabbles among personalities. He has things to do.
(35:20):
So I think, just to set the record straight, Vance
is clear there's no room for anti semitism in the
Republican Party. He's also been clear that he thinks debate
over issues is fine. But there's a difference between say,
debating our foreign policy or this decision or that, versus
(35:42):
platforming absolute vile hatred like what comes out of the
mouth of Fwintas or lately Candae Owens, who's been, as
I said earlier, terrorizing the widow of Charlie kirk Erica.
From everything I can see, Vice President Vance is well
positioned right now. He gave a great speech, he won
the straw poll, he looks good in the issue polling
(36:04):
right now, and he's doing a good job for President Trump,
who obviously believes that he is the future of the party.
We'll be back tomorrow with the Christmas Draft. Thanks for
joining us today and suffering through my laryngitis. It's Scott
Jennings common sense for the American people here on the
Salem Radio Network, fighting for free speech and Western civilization.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
This is the Scott Jenny Show.
