Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, and welcome to the tennis. For more Shenanigans here
from Pod Labor Arena, It's finals Fever at Flushing Meadows,
Deja Vu, Sablanca and Pagoula to clash in a rematch
of the twenty twenty four final, generational Battle, Carlos and
Novak to lockhorns for a spot in the men's final,
and philipped script Anisimova down Spia Tech and continues her

(00:24):
American dream. Pretty sure I said her last name wrong
that time, but no one will notice. Intros, that's me
saving me all the bark, all of that ahead and more. Now,
my fiery, redheaded companion is off doing some soul searching
in Korea, but filling in once again. It's Jamie fallis Honi.
Thanks for having me, Thrilled to have you back.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Excited to be back. It's been a while, so that's good.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
We've got something in common. You just got out of
ver sling and I'm in one.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
I gave it to you.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Yeah. Thanks, these things. I'm very experienced. Yep, No, I
was saying before I did fraction my shoulder skiing, but
at least I did doing something cool and not falling
out of bed, which is probably what the doctor thought
I was doing anyway. And across the desk the man,
the Prince of the small screen, Prince of the portrait
orientation Dirk.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
Very good, thank you, they have good to be here
taking brief spot from their social perspectives.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Very good.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
And only one on the panel that hasn't done a
major shoulder injury.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Good to be here, that might be coming and back
from Rip City, USA himself. It's our very own mathematician
Leva Hrtleston.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
Well thanks for the intro there you know your sports do.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Oh yeah, definitely didn't. Just do some quick stuff ups
before the show going. So you're from Portland. Do you
have a football team or anything?

Speaker 5 (01:36):
When you went no, no football, but we have a
soccer team, so that might you could have gotten away with.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
That is my jam. There you go, it's really not anyway.
What have you guys been up to? You happy to
be back, really happy to be back.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
You're doing over in the hotow visiting family and my
fiance actually came back with me to Australia.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
That's good. It's hard to someone when there's an ocean
between you. Yeah, very difficult. Yeah, so that's really exciting
with your fiance before you went over was before okay?

Speaker 5 (02:08):
Yeah, but we got other visa stuff and so now
she's over here, so that's really cool.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
That's amazing. So immigration it's all sorted.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
When we came back. That was that the protesters happened
in the day we go back, so it's kind of like, oh,
they're protesting us.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
It's like a get a mate to drop one of
those and you'll be fine. Reason what's happening on the internet.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Oh, plenty, plenty. That's just just really engrossed in US
Open stuff at the moment. And yeah, I've just gone
back from a European travel myself back from Wimbledon when
I was over there, so it's been good.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Gotta love it. So that makes the whole trip a
bit of a tax right off you, I hope. So
we'll see how that goes all right. Well, speaking of
US Open, let's check in with our people on the ground,
Duncan and Candy with a bit of an update from
the US Now we haven't recorded this yet, so who
knows what they're going to say, not us, but you
will now thanks David.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
Semi Finals time here at US Open twenty twenty five. Candy,
let's start off with the women, and first up, we've
got a huge semi final.

Speaker 7 (03:02):
It's a rematch of last year.

Speaker 6 (03:03):
Arena Sablenka coming up against Jesspagula.

Speaker 8 (03:06):
Can't waits. Renya Saberlenka, of course, the defending champion. I
think the overwhelming favorite for the title, even though she
hasn't won a major title in twenty twenty five. She
hits the ball so powerfully. The only thing I'm slightly
worried about is that she's had no match because Marquet
and Monrosepha was injured and we saw a little bit
how and this is a strange correlation. But on the

(03:28):
men's side, zizu Bergs from Belgium got a walk over
against Jack Draper, then played Yao Muna in the next
round and went down six to one to five to one,
and it was a weird thing that he almost.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
He needed that match.

Speaker 8 (03:41):
So I'm just worried that Sablenka might have been slightly
thrown out of rhythm because she didn't get to play
against Frontroseva.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
That might be good news for Jesse Pegula. Of course,
It's a.

Speaker 8 (03:49):
Rematch, isn't it of last year's final. Sabolenka won that one.
Perhaps it's going to be Jesse Pegoula's year.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Maybe.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
Yeah, she's been winning in straight sets so far. Second
semi final. I'm Mana Addison over coming up against Nami Osaka.
We've just watched Nami inside out the rest of that.
She looks so good, didn't she?

Speaker 8 (04:04):
She looks so good. She's working with coach Thomas Fitarowski. Thomas,
of course, was with Egash Filmtech for all but two
of her major titles. Not her first because that was Petra,
she has Patowski, not her last because of course that
was Wimbledon with them for set. But other than that
was Allbatarowski. Martina Navrattlov has said she thinks he's one
of the best coaches in the game, and to me,
he's just transformed the way that Naomirsaka plays and believes

(04:27):
in herself.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Of course, she was working with Patrick Mora Tooglu they've split.

Speaker 8 (04:31):
She immediately picked up Thomas asked him to come over
and work with her straight away, and I just think
the chemistry is there. She looks like the player that's
won four majors, including twice here. Once she beat Serena
Williams in the final once she beat Vika Azarenka in
the final.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
She's looking red hot in purple.

Speaker 6 (04:47):
Okay, yeah, absolutely one of the best outfits here at
USA for twenty twenty five.

Speaker 7 (04:51):
Who's going to be playing in the final, Candy, and
who's gonna win?

Speaker 8 (04:53):
Oh gosh, let's go with Saberlenka.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
She's going to even though she didn't play von Troster.

Speaker 8 (04:59):
I think she will be to Bagoula, and then I'm
going to go for Amanda Nissimova.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I just think she's been so good.

Speaker 8 (05:05):
She rebounded from that love and love defeat to Iago
she Fantek and the Wimbledon final to beat Eager today.
I thought she played outstanding. She was a breakdown in
each set. She seems to believe in herself. She seems
settled after that mental health break, and I love the
way she's playing. She's got the best back end in
the game.

Speaker 6 (05:21):
Right now, Canny, I'll sayle to the main now, because
we've got the next chapter of this intriguing battle between
Novak Djokovic.

Speaker 7 (05:28):
And Karlos Algarez.

Speaker 8 (05:29):
It's so exciting. They respect each other so much. Novak
has said that, of course, everyone is speaking about Janick
Sinner and karlas Aukaz meeting and yet another major final.
He's going to play disruptor. He's going to ruin it all.
Of course, he believes himself. He's trying to go for
twenty five majors, which would be unprecedented on the men's side.

(05:50):
It's just so difficult to tell because Novak is playing well.

Speaker 7 (05:54):
You've in Australia, baby, with the Olympics, and.

Speaker 8 (05:56):
He's going to be coming to the end of a
screer and he's thinking, you know I, why not one
more huge push. Alcarez has just got the most flamboyant game,
this huge smile on his face. He's been playing golf
with Sergio Garcia, he's been talking to Rory McElroy.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
He's trying to swing to the final.

Speaker 8 (06:12):
You've got to say that he's got the edge on Novak,
especially if it goes to five sets. But if Novak
comes out sort of like a bull in a china shop,
who knows it's a fifty.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
To fifty okay, second semifinal, Felix Alis sayin who beat
our own Alex Demonall.

Speaker 7 (06:26):
It's so sad coming up against Yannick Sinner.

Speaker 8 (06:30):
Well, Sinners the overwhelming favorite I think Felix Sogi Elia
seem has done brilliantly to get here. He's beaten Zeverev,
he's beaten rub Lev, he's beaten demon Or just lost
two sets. I thought the other day when he beat
rube Lev and he hit this backhand winner up the
line on match point, and he gave his coach, Freddy Frontang,
who's become quite a good friend of mine, a little
side eye just to.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Say I'm playing pretty well here. And then he did
it again. He did it again.

Speaker 8 (06:53):
So he's back in the semi finals here for the
first time in four years.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
He's exciting to have back. He's just a lovely guy. Felix.

Speaker 8 (07:00):
Sometimes he overthinks things. I think they've been working on
him playing a little bit more instinctively rather than sort
of too mechanically. I think that's what's changed in Felix's game.
Plus he's healthy, because he hasn't been healthy a lot.
But I don't see him really pushing sinner. A sinner's
just too good for everyone.

Speaker 7 (07:17):
K And who's going to be playing in the final
and who's going to be the men's champion.

Speaker 8 (07:21):
Well, he won't be surprised for me to say this,
Yanick Sinner is going to be in the final.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
He's going to be playing Ah.

Speaker 8 (07:27):
I think Colis al Karaz and Sinner's going to win it.
It could be Novak though, it just could be, but.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Sinn is still going to win it.

Speaker 7 (07:33):
So another sinnate al Choraz final here, Yes.

Speaker 8 (07:36):
Probably, And I think Sinner's going to come through just
like he should have at Roland Garross where he lost
all those championship points.

Speaker 7 (07:41):
Absolutely what a season that would be for Yanick Sinner.

Speaker 8 (07:44):
He's only lost to two men. One is Alexander Bublick,
one is Colis al Karaz. He's lost to Alcoraz three times.
He's already beaten Bublrick here at the US Open. I
just can't see anyone touching him.

Speaker 6 (07:54):
Love it.

Speaker 7 (07:54):
Come wait for the semifinals to begin. Back to you
in the studio, guys.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
All right, well, thank you very much for that Gang
Live from New York. Not of that live with that
update on the Italian Stallions fighting it out and Osaka versus. Look, yeah,
well I pretend I was like my great fad, you
catched it. It was one of those things where I
forgot but I turned it into a quick under the yeah,
exactly worked out well. So let's jump into what caught
your eye this week. Let's kick off with you, Jamie,

(08:19):
what caught you all the little Yeah, I'm going to go
with Novak.

Speaker 9 (08:21):
He defeated Fritz six three seventy five, three six sixty
four to reach his fourteenth US Open semifinal, which is
just an insane number. And I saw on Twitter yesterday
that in two thousand and eight, Novak became the youngest
player to reach the semi final of all four Slams,
and in twenty twenty five he became the oldest player

(08:41):
to reach the semi final of.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
All four Slams.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Well, what a bookend.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
It's just an incredible result.

Speaker 9 (08:47):
And I think he's just getting better and better every
time he plays, and he's definitely getting older in years,
but his performance is still there. So it's incredible. And
I know he said during his press conference he missed
his birth his door birthday, Tara, So yeah, I think
it's probably getting down to the point end in his
career of trying to realize what is more important in

(09:09):
terms of continuing to play, and then missing the milestone.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Birthdays of his kids.

Speaker 9 (09:14):
So we'll see in the next couple of months what
he decides to do next year, but an incredible result
leading his head to head eleven zero against Fritz.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Oh that's got a sting.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Yeah, Unfortunately, it's just not a great match up for Taylor.
I don't think in this match it was too one sided,
Like it was pretty pretty level the whole way through,
no factors, winning the big points as he does.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
It's got to hurt though. Losing on a double fault, yes, yeah,
that's kind of like the real full stuff to that
one always does, and.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
The headband backwards as well.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
Yeah, it just wasn't his day, was it. But couldn't
make the same result that he had last year and
made the final of the US Open. A lot of
pressure on him, but I think he still had a
great tournament. He's had a great year in the Slambs too,
Taylor Free. It's not as much as last year, but
just that Novak head to head just keeps getting worse
from unfortunately.

Speaker 9 (10:04):
And I definitely feel like anytime the crowd kind of
turns on Novak, it's when he plays his best.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yeah. Well he got a bit fiery there, told asked
the umpire, what are you going to do about it. Yeah,
nothing apparently.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
But there's nothing the umpire can do about it. The
more you provoke the crowd, the.

Speaker 9 (10:17):
More it's going to get going. And the more he
asked the question, they're just going to get that a tactic.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Though, because he does seem to thrive off that, you know, negativity,
but well negativity.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
It was annoying him in like was.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
It twenty twenty three or twenty twenty two when he
was playing Medvedev and they started cheering for him because
he was going for like the calendar Grand Slam, and
then he like collapsed inwards. So it's like, well, maybe
it is to us, but it needs an adversarial craw.
Maybe maybe that's what he wants.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Did anyone think his celebration was about the crowd before
it turned out to be the dance, because I thought
it was about the other crowd drinking too much, which
is what he was talking to the umpire about it.
What are you going to do about these fans yelling
out between nerves and between points He was taking a
long time between serves to get his composer after people

(11:04):
in the crowd. Yeah, but yeah, it turns out it
was for for his daughter, which was quite a nice time.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
They do sell a lot of honey juices over there.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Really, I've never had one.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Oh, he's a candle. This is actually a honey juice
candle open vic. One of our amazing producers finagled it
back from one of the people over there.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
It's not bad. It's just a general like candle smell.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Yeah it does. It doesn't smell like vodka, which is
what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
It's just like having a right yeah, well just at
home of vodka raspberry.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
But with candle wax. It's good for the skin. Yeah, yeah, no,
that's amazing. Yeah, so Novak, he genuinely is on track
for his twenty fifth couple of things in his way.
Most likely he's against alcra which.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Will I'm sure we'll cover the semis a bit later,
but yeah, definitely, yeah, I think that match could definitely
go either way. We might not get a sinner in
our Pros final again.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
So last question from me, what does Fritz like? I
know we're talking Nobaud, but what does Fritz have to
do to get one on the board? Do we think?

Speaker 5 (12:12):
Well, I think it's just a tough matchup for him,
Like he's a big server and he likes to rip
his forehand. Novak's an amazing returner, so it's yeah, you
can look at this SAT eleven of zero. He should
have won one of those. He's had opportunities, but I
don't think his game suits Novak that well. So I
think he's always going to be at a disadvantage. But

(12:33):
he probably needs to win more of the like medium
to long rallies and music, get into those a little
bit more.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
Or just rig the draw. Joking All right, race over
to you. What caught your eye this week?

Speaker 4 (12:44):
Well, what a redemption story we had this morning Australian time,
with Amanda anderson Ova turning the tide on her last
matchup against Egastrion Tech where she lost six love, six
love in the Wimbledon final. But one bad day aside,
she's putting together some amazing form. A man she went.
She won six four six three to reach her maiden
US Open semi final, which this is such a good

(13:06):
stat I can't believe this first American woman to reach
a Grand Slam semi on all surfaces since the Williams
sister is in O two. Wow, to be even mentioned
the same breath as long ago since they did that,
and she's just like and there's been so many great
American players, it really has. She's having a phenomenal season.
Obviously made that French semi quite a while ago, so
she's ticked off clay there and then on those quicker surfaces,

(13:28):
such a big ball striker. I think anytime Eager comes
up against a big ball striker, that's where someone has
a chance where they can actually like control the rally.
And there's not many better, especially off both wings. I
think she's got the best backhand in the world against
someone like Eager to just like those hard, flat backhands
into the corner that she's got and on big points

(13:50):
she can just rip them. Jamie, you played her in juniors, Like,
what's your experience against her from Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
It was it was a while ago.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
But did you still see that pure balls?

Speaker 9 (14:03):
Yeah, from a young age, she's always had really good
balls striking skills and just the way that it comes
off the ground and it comes fast and it comes flat.
And I think from junior's to of course now, her
movement has improved so much watching her the other day
play her ability to push wide off both wings has
been amazing. And yeah, her ability also to use her
backhand line against someone like Eager who struggles when the

(14:25):
ball comes really fast into her forehand was exceptional.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
So yeah, it was good. I actually fractured my.

Speaker 9 (14:31):
Finger a couple of weeks before playing her and then
had was in a cast for six weeks and didn't
hit a back end at all, and then a week
lad I had to come out for French Open Juniors
and play her.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
But forehand.

Speaker 9 (14:46):
Please no, At the time my coach she had a
one handed back end, and I think we did do
a couple but it's not in my repertoire.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Just just hit the ball, just a couple of slices.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Now we've actually got a clip of that a Samova
in her on court interview. Let's have a little look
at that.

Speaker 10 (15:06):
Yeah, this has been such a dream and to come
to come back from Wimbledon like that is Yeah, it's
really special to me. And yeah, I feel like I
worked so hard to try and turn around from that,
and I mean today proved everything for me, like I

(15:27):
can I can do it? So yeah, this is really special.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
She can do it. She proved that there, But can
she do the big it? Is she going to go
all the way?

Speaker 9 (15:38):
I think she can. I honestly think she can. Watching
her on court, she's so locked in. I've never seen
her this locked in. It's just incredible. And I think
she has a really good team behind her, and she's
kind of just backing herself.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
And she's a few thousand people on home.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
I think Grand Slam final at Wimbledon, being your first
Grand Slam finals, a lot of pressure on it right Wimbledon.
And you could see that visibly on her Unford in
that in that final, in the score, but her emotion
on court, like you could just tell she was like,
get me out of here a lot.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
This is a lot right now.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
But now like Arthur Rush Stadium, there's not many bigger
atmospheres than that. It did get a bit shaky in
that last game. She went on a very.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Luckily little record after a double fault. But she was
a breakdown in both sets, wasn't she Potentially I tried
to sound really smart. I don't remember our regulars. Is
no that, I don't have much in the paper. It
didn't happen.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Okay, Yeah, so she so she did well to fight
back in those sets as well. Yeah, phenomenal under the pressure.
So we'll see if that that continues, and she's got
a smile on her face. She's a great personality for
the game. I know she's close friends with our Aussie
prix Hon who had a great week as well, a
great two weeks in the US. So yeah, she's she's
great for the game. She's great for the US. Let's

(16:59):
let's see how she goes. She's baiting Seblanca recently, so.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Well, USA USA, from one patriot to another. LEVI, well
caught your on this week.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
Well, a few things I think. First off, we definitely
have to recap on the Felix Alex match and.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
I wake up to devastating newses and AlSi that was devastating. Yeah, yeah,
and it was so difficult because you.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
Know, Alex was playing so well throughout you know the draw,
and then it seemed like, really what happened was just
a falter in his first serve. So his first serve
percentage was at forty two percent, which is really really low,
but you know he was at fifty seven throughout the
tournament except for that match, so a huge drop there.

(17:45):
Seems like a big drop in pace too, so like
the speed of the serve dropped about ten kilometers per hour,
so it's like he was obviously feeling pretty tight I
think during the match, and there was a lot of
unforced errors on both sides for Felix and Alex. And
I think, you know, Felix just got the better of
hitting more winners but also hitting a lot of errors

(18:05):
but maybe capitalizing on the big moments. But I think
it's it's cool either one of them to go through
was a pretty big step. I think Felix hasn't been
in a semi since twenty twenty one because they are.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Quite similar both, you know, age history, performance, it's if
anything correct me if I'm wrong, this could have been
Alex's best chance of finally making a semi. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
Yeah, it's the lowest rated ponenty he'd ever played in
a quarter final. He's played a few quarterfinals before. But
take nothing away from Felix's run before. I don't He's
match against Zverev and then Rublev He's He's ball striking
was absolutely phenomenal. Like some of those, some of those
a little bit r Yeah, this match today probably wasn't

(18:51):
as good as higher level as those previous two. I
don't think like statistically, and Alex's first percentage showed that
it was. He was able to break into that a
lot more. But he's had a phenomenal tournament. It's a
great hard court swing for demon. But I know he
was he was pretty devastated in press and he's quite
disappointed with his performance. But onto Davi's Cup for him
next next week in Australia.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
Yeah, you know, I think the thing with Alex is
I saw this YouTube comment and it was like, I
hope that my son is like Alex when he plays tennis,
and it's like that's the nicest thing you could ever
say about him, because he's so polite and always congratulatory
and like, you know, really, I don't know. He just
seems like a solid guy.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Yeah, he can be sad about an outcome, but it
doesn't beat him. Yeah yeah, no, I mean I want
my kids to be tennis does that could be little
bricks if they wanted.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
To snowboarders, but no, Yeah, he had a great hard
court swing, Alex. He's had a great year. Like he's
a top eight seed now. Yeah, yes, the draw opened
up for him and it was his best chance to
make a semi so far. But hopefully it's not too
far away and he gets there eventually.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
All right, well from one devastating loss but a good
win for Felix. Let's have look into the future. Alkaraz
Djokovic told me that let me just grab grabst.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
I've got a story. Oh, I've got a story. Okay,
So it's really interesting.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Now that he started wrong. It's m be once upon
a time.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
Once upon a time, Zave was asking me for a story. Well,
I think you know, it's just the battle that keeps
on coming up. Novak Alcaraz, Novak leading the race, but
I think a lot of people's gut would be like
Alkara should.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Be winning these but he's not.

Speaker 5 (20:30):
So it's really like very interesting to look at that
dynamic and kind of taking a look back at the
last time they played at the AO, like what happened
because it was a very physical match, a lot of
drop shots are played. Novak sustained an injury, didn't win
as many first serves, hit fewer winners off both sides,

(20:52):
but ended up winning the match. It was kind of
interesting that it didn't add up, so I started doing
some investigation, Vira. It did feel like I was trying
to become a little detective. But so what I could
see in the stats was that Novak won sixty one
percent of Carlos's second serves, so he was dominating second This.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Be on the Finnel I feel like I'm studying it.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
Could be Carlos only won thirty nine percent, so much lower,
and I was like, well, what what is Novak doing
on these second serves? Turns out he's standing super close
and so he's taking all the returns really early, ninety
two percent inside the baseline. Really, I was thinking, well,
how could he do that?

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Like if you stand cholosca against.

Speaker 5 (21:38):
Running for the backends g my racket to someone else,
So you're like, okay, well how could he stand so close?
Turns out twenty five out of twenty eight second serves
went to Novak's backhand, so he kind of could just
read the pattern like it's going to come to my backhand,
and I can stand closer if I want.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
If you know where well, if you think you know
where it's going, you can prepare machrelia exactly.

Speaker 5 (22:00):
So he kind of new recognized that pattern and Carlos
just kept on hitting it to him.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
So here's the question, is he listening.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
Is Carlos going to change his serving patterns. Have we
seen that at the US Open? Turns out we have,
so he's actually story So he's actually shifted his serving
from away from just the back end on the second
serve into the forehand by about ten percent on both sides.
So it must have been, you know, something that he

(22:29):
noticed he was doing and he switched it. And his
actual second serve win rate has gone up fourteen percent,
which is mass huge. So I don't know, we'll see
what happens come Novak Alcaaz rematch, because I don't think
he'll be able to read that second.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
SERVI as well, Oh this is great, it's a great start.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
Amazing, I've changed my mind. I thought Jocovic was going.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Away down now, but that's so interesting. So it literally
comes down to overly consistent play and his opponent Novak
recognizing that, but by flipping the script potentially could be
his secret source.

Speaker 5 (23:05):
I think, so. Yeah, and it seems like he's noticed
that I already flipped.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
It, and that quarter final I can remember alca is
struggling to hold serve. But obviously you don't have the
analytic inside that feeling.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah, they would know on the on the iPad, Isn't that.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
The Yeah, to make those adjustments fly.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Yeah, and Alco is very frustrated in that quarter finals,
so I think that's going to be key for him
in this semi final.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Two.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
It's just to keep composed, like just because he's got
the head to head over him and he has the
mental game that Djokovic does. Alcaz has the game to
beat him. He's athletic, he hits a bigger ball. You know,
he's going to have to He's just going to have
to block that out and stick to his guns and
have come in with a good game plan, as you said.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Yeah, and Alcaz hasn't dropped a set this whole time.
Getting into the semi's phenomenal. So he's on fire. So
if he could mix it up and stay on fire,
he could have it. But I mean, no, back is
so dominant still.

Speaker 9 (24:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
Yeah, it's just going to be pretty tricky. No, it's
it's gonna be excited to watch tricky. Yeah. I can
see all the grids around here.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
Go yeah, it's anything like the quarterfnal here, it's gonna
be twenty twenty four. They played the quarterfinal. Yeah, yeah,
it's twenty five, okay.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
I mean that was lost. That was the final.

Speaker 5 (24:19):
I felt like a lot of people felt like, yeah,
it was the final because it was so good.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Crowd lucked out.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
Yeah, Jockevis, Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
I think Novak could be a little bit fresher. He's
only played about seventy nine hours of tennis this year,
and there's a forty eight hour difference in terms of
how much Carlos has been playing. So he actually has
taken a lot of tournaments off and not played as much.
And so Carlos maybe he is you know, I don't
know what that says. Maybe you would have a good

(24:50):
perspective on that, Jamie.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
In terms so literally minutes on the court, one has
played what nearly.

Speaker 5 (24:55):
Double, uh, not nearly double, but forty eight hours.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
More the whole year, it's a lot of.

Speaker 5 (25:03):
Hundred and twenty seven hours, is Carlos Alcaraz Okay, So
forty eight hours is a big third more?

Speaker 8 (25:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (25:09):
Yeah, it's a lot, especially on your body. But I
also feel like once you play and you get into
that rhythm of playing, you know what you're doing. So
it's not a stop start situation like Novak's had, But
it's just dependent on the person on the body and
for someone like Novak not playing as many hours of
tennis is good for him, whereas like maybe our Kaz
is able to sustain that a little bit better because

(25:30):
he is younger.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
But I don't know. Maybe the haircut, the aerodynamic.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
Haircut, has helped him make and it hasn't pushed this
tournament has Yeah he has, Yeah, just into a weak shop.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
But aside from that, Yeah, you'll be full here like
mine yea for those listening only, Rees has an amazing
head of curlyer. All right, well, let's have a jump
on over to the WTA side. Pagoula and Saba Lenka
give us your take. Yeah, I mean you have a
tailor story. Do I have a tale?

Speaker 5 (25:59):
I mean I did do similar investigations. I think it's
a little less juicy, but I mean there is there's
this history between them and I probably lost Yu's US final, right,
and it was a seven five seven five, and it
was tight, like if you go back and watch it,
there was opportunities for Pogula to really come through and

(26:23):
get a couple of breaks, and she did break, but
then wasn't able to hold up the break. So there's
there's a few things that you know, change but it
was a really it was really tight match, and so
I started thinking, Okay, well what could Pegoula do? And
so I thought, well, the people that have beat Sablenka,
what did they do?

Speaker 1 (26:42):
What do they look like?

Speaker 5 (26:44):
And so the first thing you notice when you look
at people who have beat Sabolenka is that they have
huge serves. So they're serving out like one hundred and
seventy eight k's and that's that's seventeen k's higher than
Pagula on average. So it's like she's not going to
hit that overnight. So I think that is probably ruled down.

(27:05):
But these people that have beat Sabolenka, what they did
was they served less to the forehand and more towards
the body of Sabolanka and causing her to move out
and not get such a great return off the.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
Bat they trying to hit her.

Speaker 5 (27:19):
I think it's a tactic, right, like you can be
really comfortable. I think in tennis it's like, Okay, out
on the wing, I can make this great return of backhand,
cross court return or forehand boom right there. But in
the body is sometimes a bit awkward because you have
to get out of the way and then hit the shot,
So a lot of players that beat her did that,

(27:39):
So I think that's something that Pegula could focus on,
not necessarily the speed, but just the location. And then
another interesting thing that these players had was that change
of direction. When Sabolenka faces a change of direction, she
has an air about twenty six percent of the time.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Which is pretty high, right, Like, well, she's like seven
face all, it's like trying to turn an aircraft character.

Speaker 5 (28:03):
I think, Yeah, I think it's because she hits so hard. Okay,
that too, that then the ball coming back to her.
If you're a counterpuncher and you're redirecting that power, it
kind of is a double edged sword. For like, I
can hit such an amazing shot, but if they push
it down the line or they hit across court and
I'm not there, that's difficult for them. So I think
if she can do that a little bit more, I
think she'll have some success there.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
Yeah, you don't want to give her time and space
on the forehand, like keep that moving to remove a
little bit of time and space like that fourhand when
it's coming at you is scary.

Speaker 9 (28:32):
Yeah, I think going back to your second stat especially
French open anytime co Co got her outside doubles lines.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
And exposed her with angles.

Speaker 9 (28:41):
She struggled, like she really struggles, And I feel like
the girls are starting to realize that and expose her
more with her movement going wide, especially more angles.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
So it's just a matter of can she do it? Yeah, yeah, exactly,
take fundamentals and actually execute. Yeah, it's going to be
It's a lot easier said than done. You're facing and
in the last five meetings they've all been on car
courts and Pagola has only won one of those. How
much is the speed and the surface going to play
into this?

Speaker 5 (29:06):
It's going to be huge. That's sable. Anca's game is
speed and power. Yeah, I mean she I think I
kind of as I was writing this, I was like, Okay,
she's kind of the queen of the first strike. Like,
if she gets that first ball and she's able to
direct it, you're going to be on the defensive the
whole time. So you have to find a way to
put her on the defensive before she can put you

(29:27):
on it.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
So I think that's got to be a tactic that
Pagoula tries.

Speaker 9 (29:31):
Is like, so serving body is huge because you don't
allow her to use her angles. Yeah, the ball's coming
through you a little bit more. And Pagola's best surface
would also be hard. So I feel like she's got
to go in to this match thinking she can win
it as well.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
I think if there's any venue in the world she'd
want to take her on, it's it's Ash. Yeah, because
the crowd, American crowd, Like we've seen sabal Anka in
the past against Americans on Ash with Coco in that
final where like and even last year in the final,
there were moments towards the end of that match where
I thought, oh, maybe like that the crowd gets her
a little bit so hard caught American crowd. If there's

(30:05):
going to be a spot for her to beat her,
this is where she'd prefer.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
I think. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (30:08):
And she's been there before, so I think maybe she
has a bit of that. Okay, come for I was
here and now I'm back. She can be such a
composed players, so yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
See how it pans out.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Another exciting one. All right, what's what's caught my eye?

Speaker 10 (30:21):
Now?

Speaker 1 (30:21):
It was pretty hard to miss this one. A lot
of people were talking about it. A lot of people
and you were talking about being detective. The internet sleuths
were out in force to track down this dastardly Polish
ceo who stole a poor child's hat that was gifted
to him. So for those that didn't see it, Camille
Mazrak was signing autographs after defeating Katchanov in the second

(30:43):
round that he was open and he was signing. There,
he shook a few hands and he gave this lovely
little kid his hat that he was playing with. But
next to him was a grown man and adult, someone
who should know better, and someone who should realize that
if you're standing in front of the person who just
won the tennis tournament, there's going to be a couple
of cameras on you. So what do you do? Then
you snatch that hat right out of the kid's hands.

(31:05):
He's there devastated. The court. MIC's even picked up the
poor little kid, going hey, stop, what are you doing?
And he shoves it in his bag and off he pops,
none the wiser that the Internet was hunting him down,
much like the Netflix documentary Don't Fuck with Cats, Don't
Fuck with Hats. So they went on the prow They
found out who he is, where he is, what company

(31:26):
he owns, what sports events he sponsors and looks after
in his home country of Poland. There was also some
questionably true statements from him that in hindsight most likely
did not come from him, basically saying first in best dressed. Yeah, exactly,
but he wasn't even first in the kid. It's like
the early bird gets the worm and he's thinking, ah,

(31:47):
but the second mouse gets the gs, so it's all
a bit nuts. He has since apologized. He has since
said I either have or will try, or something fluffy
about getting the hat back to the kid. But Mudruker
also reached out to the kid. I'm pretty sure he's
going to have a little photo, so it's going to
work out pretty well for this kid. But good job
Internet finding dastardly capped thieves. I'm sure.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
I'm sure he's struggling and can't afford sports merchandise.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
He's a struggling CEO. We'll see.

Speaker 5 (32:15):
That's the thing that you cannot buy, so stolen stuff.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
He's, I tell you what, an amazing art collection and
an equally amazing balaklava collection, and when he goes shopping
for his art, but yeah, tell you what, Well, the
kid's got a memory and that he'll never forget. So
does this CEO wanted court busted.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
Just got to know where the cameras are. If you're
fully grown out out I think you said that before
you're getting like a hat from a player, You're going
to be on camera.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
People are going to know you're doing that. So yeah,
and self awareness. It's really nuts. Like I just don't
do it anyway without the cameras. But when you're at
a sporting event covered by cameras, you've got to be careful.
Just steal in private guys like I can't tell you enough. Now,
We're going to have a quick, little a break because
my voice is getting tired and I want to hear
more about thieves in the break because I know is

(33:05):
probably flogged some stuff from the office stationary cupboard. We'll
have a break and we're back in a second with
the US Open Fantasy Draft update.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
What can I take from this room?

Speaker 5 (33:15):
Isn't there a role Eggs clock in here?

Speaker 1 (33:17):
At one point?

Speaker 9 (33:17):
The clock I've always wanted to take one of Okay, this,
I've always wanted to take one of those.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
I know what you mean.

Speaker 5 (33:28):
It was a humorous I have a confession I took
I took the batteries out of one of them that's
next to my desk.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Because it's just it's too loud. It really is, big Ben,
I know every second and I can't do this, so
I just took it out.

Speaker 5 (33:43):
Everyone that comes probably a control room role XX.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
We've lost. We've lost.

Speaker 5 (33:52):
The true time people combined, they're like rolegs that times are.

Speaker 9 (34:01):
All right.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
Welcome back. Now we're in the midst of final season
over in Flushing Meadows for the US Opens. Let's have
a quick recap of our US Open fantasy draft. So
we had Fannasi, Kock and Arkis and Stevie. He's the
King of the ball kids. It's probably got a real
better title than that. But you know something Royal and
Bree who's over in Cordier at the moment. So let's

(34:21):
see who's left. So Team Bree originally picked Sinner, Andreva,
Sablanca and Draper, so she's still got two. Funnily enough,
the top world number one.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
Yeah she cleaned up.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Yeah, I don't know how she got that past. Because
Team Cock and Arkus is slightly different mix. We've got Zeverev, Suartek,
Eager and Moboco. The twenty two seed Ye why not
and alcraz so Alcra is still in the mix there
after Eager went down earlier today and then Stevie left.
He's cooked. It was a decent picking sort of but yeah,

(34:53):
it could have turned out, yeah if there was more
food poisoning in the player village or something. So yeah,
Stevie had Demon or Fritz, Cocoa, Gough and Maddie Keys
all done and dusted. So it's Brie and Cock still
in the mix. And I think Breeze looking pretty healthy. Yeah,
I would have thought so.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Sav Mimboco had pretty early losses and the Eager is
now out too, So.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
I mean, if Alcas can pull it out of the bag,
then the Cock will win. But let's just see what happens.
But if sable Anca does take it out as well,
we could have our first draw. Ah, Okay, so that's
how it works.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
You know.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
The rules are a little fluffy two in fantasy winning, Yeah,
which is why I want the rules to be fluffy
because I can't.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Yeah, looking, whoever wins the men's.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
Yeah, whoever's initials a t K to take it out? Yeah,
so let us know at home who you think is
going to take it out? Who you would have picked
any other thoughts up to you. Okay, well that was
our US Open updates. Now New York. New York is
a land of many things. It's the Big Apple, it's
the home of the US Open, obviously, but it's all
I'm so home to a heap of TV shows, so

(36:03):
we thought we'd have a little bit of fun. One
of our producers, Anthony, had this idea at three am
while looking after his newborn child, and unlike most ideas
at that time of the morning, this was a really good,
one great idea. So what we're going to do is
we're going to pretend that all of the New York
based TV shows, all the actors are rather on strike
or they're coming back for a reboot and we need

(36:23):
to recast them. But the only twist is all with
tennis players. So who wants to go first? Kick us off?

Speaker 4 (36:30):
Though?

Speaker 1 (36:31):
Okay, so yes, a real good idea. So my go
to New York show. There are many, but I wanted
to go with Dun't dun dick Wolf Baby, It's Lauren
order Svu. So up there you've got Finn Tutuwala. He's
the Bada Brooklyn vice cop turned SVU detective. You've got
Detective Munch. He's crusty, he's old, he's got some weird opinions,

(36:52):
and he loves a conspiracy theory. Then you've got eighty
A Cabot. She's a straight shooter, she gets results, but
then she has a bit of a twist. Olivia Benson,
Queen of S for You, the only one in that
mix aside from Tutula ice qbe iced tea ice tray t. Yeah,
the only one in the mix still up there along
with Tutula. And then Elliott Stabler, the fire brand, the hero,

(37:15):
the man who wants to clean up the streets. This
is from season eleven, what I personally think is the
ultimate season of S for You. But we're up to
like twenty seven now, so there's been quite a mix.
But let's have a look who I've recast in the show.
So taking up the streets Detective Ben Shelton, he's got
his glasses on, he's looking cool. As our crusty conspiracy theorist.

(37:36):
It's John McEnroe as Munch. Caroline Wozniaki is our assist
assistant District Attorney. She's going to be taking names and
getting those bad guys locked up. And then danil Medvedev.
He's very fiery, so I thought Elliott Stabler he would
be perfect. Instead of taking it out on the racket
and on the net, he'll be taking out on the
crooks on the city streets. And then lastly Olivia Benson.

(37:58):
It is the queen of tennis at the moment, sable Anka.
So that is my Laura and order s for you recome.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
That's really good.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
I'm pretty happy with that, to be honest. I'm happy
with the graphic. Yeah, I mean it's there's some dodgy
areas there, some.

Speaker 4 (38:14):
You've done pretty good job. Spend a lot of time on.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
It, absolutely, I mean I had to had to find
images and then I realized, you know who does a
lot of like photo shoots in suits? Tennis players. They're
always getting old up for something.

Speaker 4 (38:28):
Ben Shelton, Yeah, that was real hard.

Speaker 1 (38:29):
Yeah. So yeah, I don't think the fin Tutula would
be wearing a tux. Well he's fighting crime, but cool, Yeah, exactly,
and he feels it too. So that's mine. Let me
know what you think at home. Next up, LEVI, All right,
where have you gone? Have you gone down to a
certain Rockefeller plaza I have. I'm a big fan of Carmedy,
so I chose thirty rack ver good. So let's have

(38:51):
a look at the real So who we got? Who
we got? I mean who we got?

Speaker 5 (38:54):
Well, we got Jack there on the left. You know,
he's kind of the CEO figure, just kind of controlling everything,
but he's a little bit quirky. You got Liz kind
of calculating, uh writer who's always portrayed as kind of,
you know, overthinking things.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (39:12):
Then you got Tracy kind of the showman.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
And Kenneth is just kind of the goodie two shoes, and.

Speaker 5 (39:18):
Then Jenna is kind of the airhead of the group
that's obsessed with beauty and things like that.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
Okay, so who's gonna be Jenna? It's gonna be Okay,
here we go. You've done a gender swamp. But at
least you put pants on.

Speaker 9 (39:31):
I have.

Speaker 5 (39:33):
And I put Bublick as Jenna because I thought he
was the exact opposite, and I thought he'd appreciate the.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
Joke, Okay, because I didn't want to.

Speaker 5 (39:42):
Yeah, I didn't want anyone to catch us stray there.
You know, Rune is Kenneth that he might have caught
as stray.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
There a little bit.

Speaker 5 (39:51):
But Shelton, I think he's my my leading man. I
think he really embodies that showmanship. So he's happy with
that pick. Hega, you know, the overthinker. I think she
makes a good Liz Lamon and then Raja, you know,
just that classic kind of Businessmann.

Speaker 1 (40:08):
Yes, so that's my pick. That is brilliant. Jamie's going,
I actually don't know what thirty Rock is. Sorry, you're
so young, both of you. I mean, so are you.
But at least you've got like an old soul. Yeah yeah,
I mean thirty Rock is not an old anyway. I
will keep my opinions to myself. Incredible job, Thank you
for that, LEVI. Next up, we've got Reese. What should
you pick?

Speaker 4 (40:28):
I went with How I Met Your Mother? Okay, another
great New York classic.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
I'm going to flip it on here. I'm not a
big How I Met Your Mother guy, so I'm I
know the gist. It's something about meeting your mother clusing
the title spot on.

Speaker 4 (40:41):
So your main character on the left there is Ted Moseby,
and the shows are set around how he meets these
kids mothers, this kid's mother, his own kids, kid, your
mom I'm looking back on the it's basically what the
show whose whole premise is. But he's this lovable character,
a lot of heartbreaks and different things along the way,

(41:03):
so he's he's your main character, but very lovable character.

Speaker 1 (41:06):
Robin the next.

Speaker 4 (41:07):
One, fun, chaotic, all over the place doing different things.
But yeah, also worth mentioning Canadian.

Speaker 1 (41:18):
Good where it's going.

Speaker 4 (41:19):
We've got Barney in the middle, absolute Alaric and he.

Speaker 9 (41:25):
Is show today and yeah, tough one to pick.

Speaker 4 (41:32):
No one could be as funny as him, but yeah,
we all love him in different ways as well. And
then and also very lovable couple of Lillian Marshall on
the end.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
So there are a couple in the show. Yes, okay,
so you'll see that. Okay, all right, as we go.

Speaker 4 (41:46):
Here we go, so with Grigor as Ted, so many
heartbreaks searching for the one all like looking for that
Grand Slam title, and he he's had so many ups
and downs along the way, and he's got kind of
real leading man energy.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
Yeah, yeah, like you could definitely cast.

Speaker 4 (42:07):
Him in a lead role. He's a beautiful man, do it. Yeah,
And no bigger heartbreak than wimbled and I cried so
much when he went down with another shoulder injury, very
very ASTI and he was absolutely all over yannicksing her
in that match.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
Yeah, Jeannie Bouchard.

Speaker 4 (42:22):
I went with there's a lot of Canadian tennis players
that I could have gone with Genie, because she's gone off,
done the pickleball, she's done a bit of time on screen,
those sort of things. So I went with Genie. Kids
in the middle for Barney. Enough said, and the couple,
lovable couple that we all love alenis Fidelaner and Gal

(42:43):
My face.

Speaker 1 (42:43):
That is perfect now, well done. As soon as he
sat Canadian, I started rolling through him like it's got
to be Genie. I was gonna be Felix out there,
but Felix.

Speaker 4 (42:52):
I did really want to do a gender swap Jamie
Gray X show, which I did have some thoughts on that,
you know, I left it.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
Yeah, all right, well Jamie, you've got another contemporary classic,
the original gossip Girl, I believe.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
Yeah, we've gone with gossip Girl.

Speaker 1 (43:08):
Okay.

Speaker 9 (43:08):
It was kind of the last one that was left,
so I was like, okay, I'll just taken.

Speaker 1 (43:12):
Like this was when I was at UNI, everyone was
watching this and they're all horrible I hate every character.

Speaker 4 (43:21):
I started, and I went, all, right, Blair is sinner,
Serena is Alcharaz.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
But then, like, you know, you've got these two elites
who are friends but frenemies and stuff.

Speaker 4 (43:33):
And then, but how do I like point these characters
that I all hate on tennis players that I love.
I just couldn't do it.

Speaker 1 (43:39):
So good luck.

Speaker 9 (43:42):
I didn't go down the hate part around like that,
so I kind of wanted to stick to the main characters.
But then we kind of expanded a little bit.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
Okay, fair enough. So there's so You've got Vanessa, she's
like Dan's childhood friend.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
We've got Nate.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
He's the heart throb, rich guy, but his family's actually broke.

Speaker 9 (44:04):
Yep, Okay, got Blair just a bitch, lives a luxurious life,
upper class.

Speaker 2 (44:11):
Yeah, exactly, exact exactly. We've got Chuck in the middle.

Speaker 1 (44:16):
He's trouble.

Speaker 10 (44:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:18):
Well, yep, you're understand how I picked Serena.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
Yeah, she's the girl.

Speaker 2 (44:24):
She's like the one that everyone loved, the golden girl.
We've got Dan and Jenny.

Speaker 1 (44:31):
I reckon. Dan's the worst one, Like he really total tangent,
but he's meant to be the good guy and I'm here,
but he was gossip girl. He was ruining lives and
he wrote all that shit about his sister.

Speaker 7 (44:42):
I know.

Speaker 1 (44:43):
Anyways, how.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Did you there's like twenty five seasons.

Speaker 4 (44:48):
My biggest frustration about this is there said there's like
this working class family with this amazing apartment in.

Speaker 1 (44:57):
Used to be a guitarist.

Speaker 4 (44:59):
Good for the whole show is frustrating. And I only
ever watched it as a hate watch when it was on. Yeah, yeah,
I hate watched it many times.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
So who'd you cast? Who's really in the Like.

Speaker 9 (45:09):
I have two sisters, Ellie's twenty nine and my younger
sister's twenty two, and I was like, I'll give it
to them also to give their opinions.

Speaker 2 (45:16):
Ellie is quite good being older.

Speaker 9 (45:17):
Christy goes, I don't know what show you're talking about. Oh,
so I was like, oh, they kind of hurt a
little bit, like she's never seen it.

Speaker 2 (45:23):
So with Vanessa we've gone co coo.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Okay, yeah, because she's like the not a small town girl,
but she's just nice.

Speaker 9 (45:31):
She's just nice, like different, like like still club has
a bit of a streak.

Speaker 1 (45:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
And then Nate, we've gone with.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
City Bus Okay, I feel like that's just based on look.

Speaker 9 (45:40):
So okay, I used Chat to kind of help me,
and I wonder I want to read out what Chat
gave me.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
So for.

Speaker 9 (45:50):
Nate and Cizypuss, he's gone Nates the Golden Boys.

Speaker 1 (45:52):
Say Chat, you mean like an ai chat Jim, Yeah, okay, Yeah.

Speaker 9 (45:55):
So we've gone Nates the golden boy with a poetic soul,
often pulled in different directions, directions and trying to find himself.
Cipos has the looks, the Instagram philosopher energy, and the
wondering genius vibes occasionally lost but undeniably magnetic.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
Makes so much. I mean, that's pretty bang on the
robots attacking our jobs, because that was really good. That
was good. It looks like a poet out there.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
Yeah, and like with the hair and like in the
early season.

Speaker 4 (46:23):
He can wear that jacket and his Twitter account.

Speaker 1 (46:25):
Yeah yeah, well it's like poetry. And then it's like
are you okay? Who's next?

Speaker 9 (46:30):
So then we've gone with Emma Redicanu as black and
I'm not going like the hate version.

Speaker 2 (46:36):
I've gone for the upper class atract.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
It's just like she's classy.

Speaker 9 (46:41):
Yeah, like the class here, like ther sponsor, the Tiffany
the Porsche, like the upper class type situation.

Speaker 1 (46:48):
She's got dark hair, so yeah, get her yea.

Speaker 2 (46:51):
And then I've gone agacin.

Speaker 1 (46:54):
Chuck recognized that that was Agacy. That's amazing.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
Yeah, I didn't pick the photo, but no, along, I'm trying.

Speaker 9 (47:03):
No, So gone with Agacy as Chuck bad boy type vibes.

Speaker 1 (47:07):
Well, he's kind of the original tennis bad boy.

Speaker 5 (47:09):
Yeah yeah jeans, yeah, cut off jeans, like you need
to bring that back with his fake mullem.

Speaker 9 (47:16):
Then we've gone an A Kornakova as Serena, the eat girl.
Back in the day, everyone loved her. She was the
center of attention type person. So and then I've gone
Dan as Janick sinner so ye.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
Or struggling boy who lived on a beautiful Italian alp
come from a small town, look at my town, like skiing.

Speaker 9 (47:43):
Kind of like the quiet guy. I feel like he
would get a lot of the gossip Tennis.

Speaker 4 (47:47):
We're going to find out that he's actually in her accounts.

Speaker 1 (47:51):
He's Rothenburg, not real, it's act.

Speaker 9 (47:58):
So he's kind of just like the outside in a way,
but ends up knowing everything. So that's kind of where
I've gone Maarah Andreva as Jenny, just like the girl
that's around fiery, wants to not fit in with the
core popular kids, but it's starting to become one of those.

Speaker 2 (48:15):
So yeah, that's my take.

Speaker 1 (48:17):
You know that, will you unchat? Don't to give you.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
All and my sisters and one sister the.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
Effort that's huge, no caste. Now, there are lots of
New York based shows, and Bree has actually sent us
one of her picks and one of her favorite shows.

Speaker 4 (48:32):
She had too much fomo with this one.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
Yeah, exactly. So she's obviously real busy on her business trips.
I'm just going to mess around with the cast of
Sex and the City. So this is four crazy ladies
or living it up in New York City. You've got now,
I know this quite well. My wife watches it every
night to put it to sleep. Sure, let's go with that,
shall we. The second movie was Bullshit, So we've got Miranda.

(48:54):
She's the hard, hard and fast lawyer type. You've got Charlotte.
She's similar actually to Blair in that, you know, she's
the very well to do, very well spoken, but she
also is a little bit a little simple. But that's
a right I'm probably gonna get slammed in the YouTube
comments for this, but let's keep diving head first. Then
you've got, of course, Samantha. She's the sexy firebrand who

(49:17):
is all about the pleasures of life, getting what she
wants and no one else can get in her way.
And then cock cocka Carrie with a cock curly hair.
That's a reference to one of the episodes. I can't believe.
I know that she's a writer for a crappy little
newspaper and much like Dan from Gossip Girl, can live
in an amazing apartment in the middle of Manhattan soon
as we all, Yeah, exactly, all you got to do

(49:39):
is write, you know, two hundred words every month for
some rag. You know it's called New York Star doesn't
even exist anyway.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
So but you don't watch the show.

Speaker 1 (49:47):
I've never seen it. So let's have a look who
she's picked, and you guys can help me out with
why you think? Okay, very good, very okay. So Carrie,
this might just be the curly hair thing, or is
it because she's secretly writing for a rag? Is osaka
thoughts any connection there? Do we think she is a
global star?

Speaker 4 (50:04):
Like I feel like the the energy that she brings
is very similar, like she is the girl's her nice one.

Speaker 1 (50:11):
And then for Charlotte, we've gone eager by we I mean.

Speaker 4 (50:15):
Brie, I wish we had her explanations, but she just likes,
here's here's some tennis players.

Speaker 1 (50:24):
Yeah, because they're all in black dresses. And then we've
got over there for Samantha, got Sabalanca. I mean, she
seems to enjoy the pleasures of life. She's the best
tennis player on the women's side. So yeah, yep, cool,
all right, Brie, really need you to give us we
see that.

Speaker 4 (50:40):
And then yeah, Eleana Rostapenko, Yeahspenko.

Speaker 1 (50:43):
She looks very glamorous there. Well she has she's not
a lawyer. I don't know, she's got long ship.

Speaker 5 (50:50):
She can be argumentative.

Speaker 4 (50:51):
Hey there you go. Could be maybe there is method
to breeze madness. Well there would be, we just haven't
heard it.

Speaker 1 (50:57):
When she's back next week, first thing, we're asking her
the hell are you thinking? And then one more because
it was his idea and actually put together his pick
of Seinfeld. So let's have a look there. So we've
got our normal cars. There, you've got Jerry Kramer, Laine
and George. They're got their foibles. Jerry's the comedian, Kramer
is the crazy neighbor, Elaine is the former love term

(51:18):
platonic friend, and George is just the Downley's luck ball guy.
So who did he pick? Let's find out. Ah, that
is right, So we've gone the old school fitting with it.
So we've got Pete Sampras as Jerry Seinfeld. Yeah, it's
all right. Kramer, who is that pretty good?

Speaker 4 (51:39):
Yeah, i'd say, because you could be on a lot
of players with Kramer, I think. But Marat's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (51:44):
Yeah, Like mon Fees could have had a bit of
a Kramer vibe about him because he's always of sladen around.
And then Elaine. You got Monica sellis cool. They've both
got hair. So fun fact, did you know that Julie
with Dreyfus who plays a lane, she's actually the richest
perse actor in the world, not because of Seinfeld, but

(52:06):
because her dad Dreyfus forgot his first name, owns a
shipping conglomerate. She's actually a billionaire.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Or should have gone with.

Speaker 1 (52:16):
Get what a neo baby? Is that what you're saying?
Fathers are both it's just very that's right. Well, that
Monicat famously was born in Serbia, naturalized into America and
the nineties. Yeah, very very good. And then another hair
related one or lack there of Andre Agassi as George Costanza,

(52:38):
would you go mad for Death.

Speaker 4 (52:42):
Modern?

Speaker 1 (52:43):
You can definitely change memberdev You could put in as
like George's dad, like in a Festivus, You're gonna get
home for the Festivus? That was do you bet me?
Very good? Okay, so they were out recast of the show,
So please let us know what you're thinking home or

(53:03):
Betty yet put in the comments your favorite New York
show and who you would cast in it, we'd like
to say, and maybe we'll.

Speaker 4 (53:09):
Be other ones.

Speaker 1 (53:10):
Whichever guru put those images together, maybe we'll bust out
a few more and drop them in the comments as well.
Ace of the Week. Now we're running out of time.
Jamie's got to get off to the dentist or pick
up some flowers, or you've got something important you should
go with it. Yeah, two for one deal. I'm going
to be back on those slopes in time for next winter. Beautiful.

(53:30):
All right, Well, let's have a little look around the
table at this week's Ace of the Week. Something doesn't
have to be Tenesis related. Personally prefer if it's not
to be something's made you happy, leave, I kick us off.
What's made you happy this week?

Speaker 5 (53:40):
Well, I mentioned earlier that my fiance and I, well
she moved over here to Australia. So twenty three seconds. Wow,
that's quick.

Speaker 1 (53:50):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (53:51):
So we put everything in a storage unit already had one,
and we got all her stuff to fit in there
and it was just like a couple of inches from
the door and it just went down and it was like, oh.

Speaker 1 (54:00):
Perfect, meant to be. Yeah, that would feel real good.
I felt really good. It's like Tetris, but nothing disappear exactly. Yeah. Yeah,
that's good. Well, welcome to the country, missus Suddleston soon
to be. Yeah, now that is very exciting. Congratulations. Thanks
all right, Serve clock reset Reese.

Speaker 4 (54:18):
I'm going Ossie rules related, which I think we probably
do a little bit, but Finals footy this week, and
I'm going tomorrow night to Brisbane versus Geelong. I'm a
Richmond supporter, but family is all Brisbane. Granddad was captain
of Fitzroy back in the sixties and he's coming with us.
He hasn't been to a match. I don't think since
the three Granny or something like that. He can barely walk,
but he's really keen to go. So I'm really excited

(54:39):
for that tomorrow night. A good memory with him, but
it must be rough.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
Being like, you know, Brisbane and a Richmond supporter.

Speaker 4 (54:44):
Yeah, dad's Richmond. Mum's Brisbane, his mum's dad. It's been
great for us, but now now it's just handed over
to them. We won three flags and now they're looking
like they might go back to back.

Speaker 1 (54:55):
Oh well, very good, that sounds great. All right, Jamie,
what's your ace of the week.

Speaker 9 (54:58):
Okay, someone's a bit tenched for so sorry, but it's
about read the rules.

Speaker 2 (55:03):
It's not about me.

Speaker 9 (55:04):
So my two sisters, my sister's boyfriend and one of
our good friends. They play Thursday Night Camp so it's
mixed comp so rolls of reverse a little bit. So
I'm going to support them to Oh that's cool for
them to play. And I'm on food duty because it's
their home game, like you have to provide the food.

Speaker 1 (55:19):
Looks last orangins or no.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
I'm going to pizza.

Speaker 9 (55:21):
Wow, I'm going pizza and some Hidulight packets from Sodi.
Just in case they cramp after. So it's just a mix.

Speaker 1 (55:28):
Of time penalty. Jamie fallis. I'm done, okay, lucky lucky, Yeah,
that sounds great. All right, well, let us know how
the pizza night goes. Sorry, turn us night with pizza.
Now my turn. I'm going to mix things up. It's
not about my family, it's not about something work related.
On the weekend, my wife and I went to see
the fiftieth anniversary of Jaws, the film, Steven Spielberg live

(55:48):
with an actual orchestra playing all the music down at
Hamer Hall at the Art Center. Who It was nomenal awesome.
The conductor was really into it. She was like funny
but also incredible at her job. It was a full
like sick to your seventy piece orchestra, like you know.
And and then as soon as they did, they darn
the whole place lost it. It was so much fun,
great movie. Time pedaled to myself. That's my ast of

(56:09):
the week. So yeah, beautiful, Well, team, that is the
end of a show. We've just ticked over an hour
on our recording. But hopefully in the edit that gets
shot and down. Jamie, you've got to get out of here.
Let's go get our shoulders fixed.

Speaker 2 (56:21):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (56:21):
Did you have fun?

Speaker 2 (56:22):
It was great, It was so much fun.

Speaker 1 (56:23):
Thanks so much, Raese, thank you so much for coming in.
You are incredible at this and sorry but we're probably
gonna ask you back many many times.
