Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, and welcome to the tennis singer ads sizzling. Is
this the duo that would define a generation?
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Hot Cocoa. That's a good one. GoF adds a massive
title and a tiny cup.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
To her cabinet. Has the Djokovic farewell tour begun?
Speaker 2 (00:18):
That's all I had with me, brief Stewart, and beside
me is my everyday pain in the side. Save you out, Mullabar, it.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Says co host, pain in the side is what you said.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
And across the desk, we're spoiled to have both halves
of our favorite tennis power couple.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Power couple. Indeed, who is it? It's saddle squared.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Thanks for having.
Speaker 5 (00:43):
Us, Thank you for the intro, very good.
Speaker 6 (00:47):
What else you got you were all talking before.
Speaker 5 (00:50):
They're all nervous, not a bit nervous, nothing to.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
Lie and nervous.
Speaker 6 (00:54):
That's a first.
Speaker 5 (00:58):
Luke was gonna save me with my with my comments like, yeah,
I did get a bit nervous.
Speaker 6 (01:04):
Okay, it's good.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, but we won't talk too much about the fantasy
draft yet and how much Luke kind of didn't win. Yeah,
but we will ask Dasha. We weren't expecting to have
you here. And back home.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
How are things going, what's been happening.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
Yeah, I decided to get on a plane and come home.
It's on the it's on their short flight, so but yeah,
this is the first time for me coming back after
Roland Garros, and I'm really happy. I love home and
I've been enjoying it, even though the weather hasn't been
(01:42):
as nice as it is in Europe.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
But we're not exactly having a French summer here, having
very much in Melbourne.
Speaker 6 (01:48):
Winter's been very wet.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
The first few days that I got here was it
was still really sunning, and I was like, Luke, why
is everyone complaining? Also we're in I'm like, okay, yeah,
I can. Can I start complaining now? But yeah, it's
been good. I feel like, yeah, I was missing home
and I made the right decision to just come back home.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
And super happy.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
He was. He was really happy. He still is, although
he gives us doing a little.
Speaker 6 (02:22):
Hand movement he does, Yeah, doesn't do that for you,
does he?
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Look he cries around me.
Speaker 6 (02:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
He was like, damn, I'm stuck with the second favorite
human in the top two.
Speaker 6 (02:35):
That's good.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
That's take it two people.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
But we'll keep on moving because we'll talk more to you.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
We do.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
It's actually very full. We did have a Grand Slam.
But what we'll do is we'll move straight Intoward's caught
your eye, We're going to kick off with you, Luke,
I caught your eyes.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
What caught my eye is that the sign or at
the front of a barber that said first blind barber
in Melbourne.
Speaker 6 (03:01):
Hey, look what caught What's.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Caught my eye is Zave's a very mean.
Speaker 6 (03:04):
Person, just commenting on haircuts.
Speaker 7 (03:07):
But the second one is that men's final at the
French Open, the Sinkeraz rivalry. Interestingly enough, the first time
they faced off in a Grand Slam final. So it's
actually five in a row to our Kraz now the
last five obviously the French Final, the Rome Final, the
China Opened Beijing final end of last year. It was
(03:28):
the longest final history there in Beijing, which our Craze
won seven to six, and the third before that was
the Indian Wells semi final, and then the French semis
last year in five. So I love a long match,
love along match. Just an amazing rivalry starting to happen
between those between those two guys, and what an amazing
(03:52):
display of tennis that final was and what caught my
eyes well was John McEnroe's comments when he said he'd
have them both favored to beat Prime Raffa on clay.
And I sent that article around to a lot of
my mates just get a bit of get a bit
of a feel before I came on here. And I
think that's that's a huge, huge statement from Mark.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
So what was the consensus from your tennis mates, and
assuming their tennis mates, yes, mates that are.
Speaker 7 (04:21):
Exactly that's a little mane. They think it's a big,
a big call. I mean, I think it's interesting when
you're comparing eras as well. Obviously they're pretty close to
each other as well. But I think, in my opinion,
Sinner would match up a little better. I think he's
a little taller, has a bit better two handed back in.
(04:42):
I think maybe a little Jocovic Jess when he can
sort of step in and not let the forehand of
Raffa sort of pull him around the court. So I
think our Craze may struggle a little more. But I'm
taking Rafa, I mean to say, is Prime Rafa fourteen Slam?
Speaker 4 (04:57):
He didn't win fourteen fourteen French Open.
Speaker 6 (04:59):
Did he yeah, exactly that that skill and skill.
Speaker 7 (05:02):
It's so level of tennis is super high right now.
But I'm taking Raffa there, So that was.
Speaker 6 (05:07):
Question for you.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
What what era when we say prime Raffer, give me
a year, like take us back to what he is
prime Raffer.
Speaker 7 (05:14):
Yeah, I think he's probably a couple of primes. But
but I look back at like, is it nine where
he was basically not losing games in the final of
the French I think he beat Federer three love and
one in one final, So not a great matchup as
we know those two on clay. But I just find
it hard to see those two beating Raffa maybe over three,
(05:37):
but over five is just something that almost no one
could do.
Speaker 6 (05:41):
Brent, Yeah, big call, Johnny mack Pip.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
I've got people talking, so he's purely achieved what you
need to do.
Speaker 6 (05:48):
Yeah, he does love people to talk. Yeah, and they're talking.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yeah, let's move to Dasher and what caught your eye?
Speaker 5 (05:57):
It was all over my TikTok yeah and my Instagram
that Arena's comments after the match, and yeah there were
there was a lot about it on social media and
a lot of opinions.
Speaker 8 (06:15):
I think today I didn't really handle myself quite well mentally,
I would say, so basically, that's that's it. I was
just making on service like I don't know, I have
to check the statistics. I think she won the match,
not because she played incredible, just because I made all
of those mistakes from like if you look from the
(06:36):
outside kind of like from an easy balls.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Do you want to hear my opinion if one wants
to hear talk about Saca's reaction.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Just lost to do a post match media conference.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
It was on she did sit in and then post match.
Speaker 6 (06:54):
The time to think, so dash hot take.
Speaker 5 (06:57):
I think she was really hurt. I think she didn't
have that much time to process. I think she I've
done that before when I'm like still really mad and
I'm like, okay, I'm just going to do the press
conference now. I've never had a press conference after losing
a Grand Slam final. I don't know yet.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
Wow, what do you mean.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
Oh, will take? Will take? Will take exactly? I think
she did. She was emotional on court, she was emotional
post post match, and she just spoke with how like
actually how she was feeling like I didn't think she
(07:49):
looked through like someone else's LANs and she was just
talking from her own perspective and she was really hurt.
And I don't know if if her watching the match
back would change her mind.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Oh that's interesting because she experienced it and then in
her mind, I see him thought it was her fault.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
Yeah, but maybe watching it back, and.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
The conditions must have been pretty bad, right, because you
can't really see on TV the wind or what they're
dealing with and all that kind of stuff. But it
seemed like the conditions were bad.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
Yeah, like you could tell by you know, their dresses
going up and you could even see the wind like
going up.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
And we watched the highlights and.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
Highlights, very extended highlights.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
You just watched the full match again.
Speaker 7 (08:42):
We thought it was a pretty high level, didn't we
And good match, Yeah it was.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
It was very windy.
Speaker 7 (08:47):
Sablanca was obviously trying to play pretty aggressive like she
normally does, and Coco's probably the best mover in the game,
and she was just you know, making a lot of balls,
hustling and making sub Blanca play the extra ball and
maybe she was overplaying.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
That is Coco's strength, like she never bits herself. I've
actually never played against Coco, but just from watching and yeah,
like people she makes people make those unforced errors.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
From watching her US Open final against Sablanca and then
also this one at rolland Garros, it seems like too,
just from the untrained eye, when Sablanca starts to lose
it mentally, Coco rises.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Yeah, that's what it kind of looked like again.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
And I remember watching the US Open and watching Sablanca
just you could tell she was falling apart mentally, and
Coco you could tell on her face she's like, Okay, cool,
I've gotten in here.
Speaker 5 (09:48):
It was almost like she was charging from this and like, yeah,
there's bad energy.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
From and she's turning around a positive kind.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Of thing, and it speaks to around just the surface,
like really helped Coco's game to be able to have
those extra micro seconds to get to the ball, to
get one more back to sable Anka, who's normally just
uses brute force and finesse to just power through. Like
that's I think the difference between a US Open for
those two players.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
It was great to watch that, and CoCom did mention
as well that their head to head is very close,
like six five yep.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
So yeah, but like she did so sable Anca I
think like she's sort of not walked it back, but
she softened her rhetoric in hindsight.
Speaker 6 (10:32):
She did.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
She came out with a statement on Instagram kind of explaining,
but I think that's a good point, Dasha, like, and
I hadn't thought of it like that. You come off,
you've lost, you've been working, You've got to blame yourself.
Speaker 6 (10:44):
Yeah, you're you want to go back to your team
and go.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
About what you're going to say.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
I do that too, Like I will blame myself and
Luke and sometime luc mostly and yeah sometimes, and then
the coaches will actually say, hey, like, it wasn't all
that bad, and you need to take a step back
and let's go and rewatch this match and you'll see
(11:12):
for yourself that, yeah, on paper, they're unforced heiress and
maybe some bad decisions. But she like she made you
feel that way.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yeah, so it is actually you were outplayed, Yeah not you,
but yeah blank yeah yeah. But I think last my
last thought on this is it's a real catch twenty
two because on the one hand, we want real answers
from players. We want players to tell us what real
rather than just give us a cookie cutter media trained responsive. Yeah,
(11:46):
it was a good game. I didn't do my best.
She outplayed me. Thanks for coming.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
But they need to write stories and headlines exactly we need.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
I really like that about Arena, Like she's very, very
honest and yeah, she just said exactly how she feeling.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
And that's what I mean, Like we want plays to
give us a real answer, and then when someone does,
people pile on. It's like, yeah, I mean, she was
a pretty forthcoming with her thoughts. But that's what we
you know, as tennis fans, is what.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
We want and as humans we all do that. When
you're emotional, you say things and they don't come, you.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Might regret, like right way, Yeah, Luckily I don't have
cameras in my face all the time with some.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Of the crap that I This episode will be edited
as well. We have room for ever.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
You're all in. It's just going to be me cut out.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
It'll looks like three people sit around a table and
occasionally yellow.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Yellow and they're like playing a Grand Slam final. I've
definitely lost my.
Speaker 6 (12:47):
Cool, don't you.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
I've lost my cool. I court seventeen, playing first round matches,
so yeah, and I've said some things before in the
break where then I would read it and I'm like,
oh my god, no way I said that.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Yeah, because in the heat of the moment, you probably
don't even remember what you said after you've just played
a match sometimes, but honestly.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
Yeah, I think last year after US Open, I said like,
I don't know if it's worth it anymore, Like I
just lost and I was injured, and people were like
asking me if I was retiring.
Speaker 6 (13:25):
Dash Reveals retirement and Open.
Speaker 8 (13:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
I played a few Challenges and Gold Coast last year
and people were like, oh, hey, are you retiring. I'm like,
well no, And also I won't be retiring.
Speaker 6 (13:42):
Here a challenger event. You're like, are you retiring?
Speaker 3 (13:45):
While holding a racket, You're like, no, no, no, very
much here to play.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Okay, I'm going to move on to what caught my eye?
Speaker 6 (13:53):
Caught your eyebry?
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Thank you, because it's always awkward, Like you.
Speaker 6 (13:57):
Know, enough about you guys. I want to talk about
my eye catching moment.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
One thing I wanted to talk about is firstly, how
well Djokovic did it Roland Garross. I think that was
a little bit of a surprise for some people, because
you know, it's been touch and go with his uh,
you know, his matches in the past few months, and
then I did watch that match that he played against Sinner,
was a great match, and when he walked off, he
(14:22):
kissed the ground and kind of had this really great moment, which.
Speaker 6 (14:26):
Is hard with Clay because then you picking an out
of your team.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Did it with his hand, you know, the commitment I
h And he said in his press conference afterwards the
fans were so behind him, which is amazing and they
always will be. I think he's, you know, a big
name in the world, and he wanted to thank the fans,
but he did kind of say maybe it was his
last rolling garrals, Well, we've got.
Speaker 6 (14:50):
To listen there.
Speaker 9 (14:52):
I mean, this could have been the last match ever
I played here, so I don't know. That's that's why
it was a bit even a bit more emotional in
the end. But if this was the farewell match of
the Roland Garros for me in my career, it was
a wonderful one in terms of the atmosphere and what
I got from the crowd.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
Which I think actually leads into what Dash was just saying,
like he said that nepressor and now where about it
is he retiring? Yeah, it's like he's just the end Novak.
He's done, he's got his hundred, he's finished.
Speaker 7 (15:23):
That's an interesting one. I feel like he's recently seen
his rivals retiring and he's almost looking for a bit
of love from the crowd and the spectators. So I
think he's almost feeling like Roland Garross is maybe that
that opportunity, likes that crowd, and that's that's That's how
I sort of read a little bit. And I think
(15:46):
he'll be there next year. Yeah, I think he'll keep playing.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
I kind of feel, yeah, that he'll be there. I
don't think that's how he would want to.
Speaker 6 (15:53):
Know, gotcha go out? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (15:55):
I feel like he kind of said stuff like this,
but last year then he want to go at the Olympics.
It's what you said, you were going to retire, And
I don't know where, Like I think he doesn't know
where his body at.
Speaker 5 (16:07):
He's just unsure, and but I don't think he's there.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
Yeah, And like he's broken pretty much every title, it.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
Would be hard, like to know, how how the hell
do you even retire? I mean, I love my favorite
retirement was ash.
Speaker 6 (16:24):
When she just just like picked up a golf club
and Nick.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Yeah, I love that. It's critical love that retirement was
pretty nice.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
You what, it's nice.
Speaker 6 (16:42):
Normal.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
I give her, you know, oh my god, But if
you guys, was my favorite retirement. Sorry, she just won
you as open and then literally announced that she's retiring
and it's her last year. Wow, she did play four
She did play like a few more tournaments because she
(17:06):
wanted to play the Masters.
Speaker 6 (17:08):
So finals, very good. More good retirement stories.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Well, so if you guys were Novak, how much longer
would you keep playing?
Speaker 5 (17:21):
Five years ago?
Speaker 7 (17:23):
I was done, not thirty one. But I mean, as
we said, he's broken every single record there is. You
know he's I see here is he's just won one
hundred titles Connors with a record on one oh nine.
So maybe he's going to look for that one. You
might just go and play a bunch of two fifties retire,
(17:44):
but he's just twenty four slams. You know, he's got
that record sewn up. He's won every event there is,
all the Masters, the most Master Series weeks at number one.
So I sort of felt like watching him against Sinner,
it was the first time I felt like he sort
of didn't have that belief in my op. I could
(18:04):
be wrong, but just watching him, it was like I
felt like there was a realization from him that he
can't compete at this level those top two anymore. And
you know, I know he beat our craz at Roland
Garros in the Olympic final match, but I think he
feels like his level is still pretty good to get
to your semis and quarters and maybe a final of
(18:24):
a Grand Slam, but to beat probably he has to
beat two of those guys to win a Grand Slam
going forward.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
And I think he's.
Speaker 7 (18:32):
Gonna be a real shot at Wimbledon because on the
Grassy he's definitely proved himself there. But it just felt
like he's maybe lost a little bit that belief, believe
with the top two, maybe three.
Speaker 5 (18:43):
And even the comments that like the klipse that the
fans kind of posed where they translated and like he's
really mean to himself, like and he hasn't been doing
that for a long long time.
Speaker 6 (18:57):
That's interesting.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
So I think he's he's stewing about a lot of
things right now.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
Do you reckon he's looking for one more high before
going out like us or maybe even Australia to know
back what used to to Rafa right, just like with
his most successful it is, but they're they're detracted.
Speaker 5 (19:17):
It's pretty hard, like going to every press and people
asking him the same question like how many how much longer?
How many more? That was like that's what people did
to Serena And yeah, and the funny thing as a player,
I don't think you know yourself.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
It will happen when it happens, but until then, you're
not really sure. You wouldn't pick a date?
Speaker 5 (19:38):
No, yeah you did?
Speaker 6 (19:43):
Vic agree.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
I think you are as good, if not better than
know that Djokovic tennis?
Speaker 6 (19:51):
Does that make up for the crap say before?
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Oh god, okay, let's move over to you.
Speaker 6 (19:56):
So you cut me off by giving the opportunity to
talk bold.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Move break Well, I'd love to just cut your whole
section out, But then I really like your what court?
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Your aye? So what caught my eye was tiny tiny trophies? No,
well kind of so.
Speaker 6 (20:11):
Here's Coco does look like it was? So most of the.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Slams they when you win the Grand Slam you are
given a replica of the trophy.
Speaker 6 (20:26):
We do here in the Australian Open.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
We give so that the Daphne ac curse and the
Norman Brooks trophies, you get a real life, you know,
exact replica, so they particulously.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
Recreated them, Sissy.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Yeah, they're really quite indistinguishable from the quote unquote real thing.
It looks like however, the Roland Garrison, as Coco pointed out.
You know, she was ducking home on her private jet,
got a cute little one. It kind of looks like
an ash tray outside of her country pub. And she
obviously loves that trophy. But she did a little size comparison,
and yeah, it is somewhat smaller.
Speaker 5 (21:01):
Yeah, surprise, mine is real like that.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Imagine if it was like, oh jokes, it's half.
Speaker 6 (21:09):
But I love.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
At the end of this TikTok, she like shows the
photo of her with the.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Trophy and then this little one.
Speaker 6 (21:17):
It's actually double, if not.
Speaker 5 (21:19):
The size, but I don't there is like the F
F T the logo of I don't know why it's
not Roland Garras.
Speaker 6 (21:30):
That's because on the real one it has the G.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
No.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
I think it's also F.
Speaker 7 (21:37):
Tennis Australia's symbol on the control our logo, our little
swoopy bounce, aerno god.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
The trajectory of a ball.
Speaker 5 (21:48):
I've been to Sam Stos's house and I think US
Open is also a replica, but a small one. I
think so, I think, oh.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Let's just say it is and we're the best because
we going to just gives you a gift.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
The Boots runners up, Doubles runners up, Assie Open. It's
doubles doubles doubles smaller anyway.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Isn't it you have to give if you win that
or even coming up, you have to give one of
your old trophies to the Australian Open.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Is mean today?
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Now I have a is it easier? Would you prefer
the real size replica like two sizes or is it
easier to go home with something that is shrunk.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
As long as they get my prize money.
Speaker 7 (22:43):
I'm actually pretty surprised that winning a slam you don't
get the same size. Winning a slam, you're definitely going
home private, well, I am for sure, and you can
easily fit a trophy.
Speaker 5 (22:56):
You'd be flying private.
Speaker 6 (22:59):
From and to counterbalance the cost.
Speaker 5 (23:03):
Definitely twenty six hours back, definite by first class Emera
private Jetmey.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
I like it. I like it, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (23:13):
But like even winning normal I'm going regular tournaments, it
is a bit of a struggle to bring trophies home,
especially spending months away. And if you win a tournament
week one and you've got to lug it around, it's tough.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
But she's, like you said, winning straight home.
Speaker 7 (23:30):
I think, yeah, so of course Australian Open has done
it again the best Lamb.
Speaker 6 (23:35):
But you're headed here for ct good job.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
But like you know, if you win too many of those,
you pretty much have to like go full raffer and
build a museum for all your trophies to put in.
Speaker 6 (23:45):
It's not about putting on he done.
Speaker 5 (23:48):
Surely he's getting an the original one.
Speaker 6 (23:50):
Well, he's probably has custom built.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
No.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
I went to the Rafa Museum at Roland Garros and
they had in there all the replica mini ones that
he's won over the years.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
So he got mini one.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
He he's got a museum, so he doesn't have a
trophy at all.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Well, in Majorca, at his academy, they've got a Raffie
museum with all of these A trophies. And I think
all the rgs unless there's replicas of replicas, do they
get smaller each side?
Speaker 6 (24:17):
Like those Rushian keep pulling out a replicas.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
His retirement at Roland Garth.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
They did the museum, and I believe they got him
to bring them there just for the period, or maybe
the replicas of the replicas.
Speaker 5 (24:31):
But I would like sewry as a that's not bad
as a Yeah, like a trophy open.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
And stuff. Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 6 (24:45):
I mean that r G one so small you could
put it on a chain.
Speaker 5 (24:50):
I really like the Hopman Cup tennis racket that was
one of them. Yeah, the necklace.
Speaker 6 (24:59):
United cr there you go.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
Yeah. Anyway, we're going to take a quick break.
Speaker 6 (25:03):
Should we doing a podcast?
Speaker 2 (25:06):
And after the break we will come back and ask
Dasher some of our prying questions from our fans.
Speaker 6 (25:11):
And Xavier tell you what, there's some curly ones.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Welcome back.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
We actually went out to our social audience it is
and asked them if they had any questions for Dasher
because we don't generally get to have it.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
And I was I was panicking and I was writing there.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Some of them were obviously written by Luke as well.
So it was good on you guys for sharing the notes.
We got heaps, didn't.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
We Yeah, And I thought it was a great time
to do it, given you just got into maindraw it
rolling Garros I was there, as you know, and it
was my favorite moment of the whole tournament.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
So we wanted to get into some questions from our fans.
Speaker 6 (25:51):
Al bag.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
We finally have a mag I didn't know what you
said Saturday, so I'm going to get that.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
Yeah, I know what. Hey hey from the new show
that I'm watching on.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Oh hey, hey Sirens.
Speaker 5 (26:06):
Yeah, hey hey, Julian Moore.
Speaker 6 (26:11):
Yeah, yeah, it's so relevant.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
Okay, so our first question comes from Chloe. I think
we're gonna put up how do you learn to be
focused and not distracted.
Speaker 5 (26:25):
I'm still in the process of learning. I wish I
could stay focused the whole match, but I don't, and
I think it's normal. I think what I'm actually doing
now is I let myself like switch off and then
I get back to work, and that's what works for me,
(26:48):
Like in the yeah, between points, I'm like, okay, now
relax and then okay, let's go extract, like let's go
for it.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
And it's the journaling part of that focus that you
looking at as well.
Speaker 5 (27:01):
Yeah, sometimes I read my journal during matches, and I
definitely write a few points before matches, and it kind
of gives me clarity, not so much about trying to
stay focused.
Speaker 6 (27:14):
Yeah. Cool, And I thought with Pepper, be's with some
save questions?
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Okay, great, do you have a save question question?
Speaker 3 (27:21):
So loved all your content when you're in rolling Garrols,
especially behind the scenes stuff, and you were showing us
things like they're gifting the sal on, the dining and
on site tattoo parla.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
Yeah did you get one? And if not? Why not?
And then what would you have gotten?
Speaker 5 (27:36):
If you could don't have any tat don't want? Then
what you did?
Speaker 2 (27:41):
I told you did? I was like, no, no, she
was just showing other people getting them.
Speaker 6 (27:44):
I thought, giant angel wings on.
Speaker 5 (27:46):
Your shoulder or a butterfly.
Speaker 6 (27:50):
Yes on your heart, like a tiny little I love Luke,
and then a giant total.
Speaker 5 (27:55):
If I was gonna get anything, it's something to do
with yeah, but hold dog. But then now I don't
have any talents, and I'm like, I feel cool about.
Speaker 6 (28:09):
It, Okay, Like she's a clean skin, Like.
Speaker 5 (28:13):
I feel better than everyone.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
So you're amazing tennis player and you still need something
else to feel superior to those around you.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Good to know, Well, we won't tell you what saves too.
Speaker 6 (28:23):
I remember getting it.
Speaker 5 (28:24):
It was oh my god, sus where.
Speaker 6 (28:34):
I never as.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
It is pretty bad. There's more the story, but you
know what, I'm literally it's a sham shamra right.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
I saw that on your clover.
Speaker 6 (28:48):
Yeah, we're connected, I guess.
Speaker 5 (28:51):
So I am into collecting them, but they've probably never
even seen wine.
Speaker 6 (28:56):
Get me a shop.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
You're gonna have this one because I'd.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
Be getting that removed.
Speaker 5 (29:01):
Maybe I should like set up to removal play, get.
Speaker 6 (29:06):
Rid of all the crappy French open mine.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
I'm going to go to a question from one of
our fans again. So Jack has asked, what are your
goals for the rest.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
Of the season.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
I'm I really want to get back to double digits. Ye,
So I don't care how I do it. I just
need to do it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Good, do we need to kill about.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
If you players just bringing in the big guns and
get on the road.
Speaker 6 (29:43):
Oh yes, that was going to be my question next
you're mixing.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
No, it's a good thing, Like you know, thanks Luke,
thanks for really bringing that into that.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
So dash you are so can I go on to it?
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Yeah, totally because I think it connects.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Your coaching setup. How is that working now? With you
know you've got Michael Legazo and now Luke Saville.
Speaker 6 (30:05):
Through the workings.
Speaker 5 (30:06):
Well, Luke really wanted to do the grass season. So
I do feel a lot of pressure because do you
want to hear stat Yeah, go go what's.
Speaker 6 (30:18):
Your stat Go for it?
Speaker 4 (30:19):
Seniors. I am fourteen and zero at Roehampton.
Speaker 5 (30:24):
Wow, so you need a statue there?
Speaker 7 (30:29):
Qualified three out of three times and then I won
a future there two years ago, which is five matches,
so that's huge. I'm just okay telling dash it every
now and then that I would I need it to
stay perfect. So seventeen and zero I'm looking for We're looking.
Speaker 6 (30:48):
For any any savile up there in lights. This is
gonna be great. What other little.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Things are you going to tweak with your new and
developing coaching team.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
I'm going to be diving for those volleys like Luke does.
So we've been practicing.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
That was off the couch, No on court.
Speaker 5 (31:07):
He brings them mattresses. You're like believing it, you fully.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
I feels like I'm in an alternate universe.
Speaker 6 (31:18):
This week because it's the shirt and the seat.
Speaker 7 (31:22):
I wheeled in our mattress to the NTC yesterday and
no one knew what I was doing and took it
out to the hard courts and we went to work.
Speaker 6 (31:31):
Hang on diving.
Speaker 5 (31:34):
Yes, so I will be coming coming in a lot.
But girls are very good with passing shots now, so
I gotta gotta do what you gotta.
Speaker 6 (31:44):
Do that speedy grass, did.
Speaker 5 (31:46):
You actually you need to add the clip of Ellen diving?
It was unbelievable. Please Ellen, Perez and doubles. It was
Unbelievable's wife.
Speaker 6 (31:59):
She me, that was crazy, but let's throw the come on, guys,
what you have.
Speaker 5 (32:05):
We did do some work with her in Abu Dhabi,
so it's finally paying off.
Speaker 6 (32:10):
Back to your fans. Back to more recon.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
I might go with Tara. Tara has asked, is that
all right? Wizards? Do you have a pre match or
pre tournament routine?
Speaker 5 (32:25):
Yes? So pre match I always write some notes in
my journal depending on it's honestly the same. Every every
tennis player have very similar routines. It's funny how many
times we like warm up. It's actually pretty crazy. I
(32:46):
don't think any other sport does that, but you'll I'll
definitely have a thirty minute warm up before a tennis
warm up and then get some food and then another
freaking warm up before before the match. So yeah, but
and before a tournament, it's just a really it's a
(33:08):
build up, it's yeah, but a lot of warm up.
Speaker 6 (33:11):
Yeah, I don't like that.
Speaker 7 (33:14):
You sort of train quite a bit, maybe three or
four days out and then you taper probably closer to
the tournament at the first round and to try and
freshen up. So the day before everyone's different, but can
vary between thirty minutes to an hour hitting, and but
you feel like you get all the work in an
ideal world, you know, I guess four or five days
(33:34):
out and get that court.
Speaker 5 (33:36):
Time, and I'm probably lying. It's not like it's not
thirty minutes before the tennis hit. It's about an hour.
You do a lot of mobility and then actual like footwork,
and then whatever you feel like you need to do,
like a some players actually hit the gym and do
(33:56):
some exercises there.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
But you play a bit of a part of that too,
Luke kind of like going, why don't we do X
Y Z an now before Yeah.
Speaker 7 (34:06):
Yeah, so where you see the same trainer, so it
can help with that. I guess more physical side of
the warm up, the mobility and the stretching and whatnot.
And I think that's definitely a positive for me getting
on the road, not just the tennis side, but the
physical side as well. And we can stay on top
of that with Dash's sort of history with the injuries,
(34:26):
but she's she's all good now. So and then I
guess different players hit for shorter longer. Some warm up
for fifteen minutes, some even forty five to an hour.
So it's all just personal preference. Yeah, I just just
I guess, depending on how many how many balls you
want to hit before going out and play.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
A match, and how long will you be on the
road together for nine weeks, Luke has has calculated them.
Speaker 6 (34:53):
The max amount of time that you can stand to
be that close to each.
Speaker 5 (34:55):
Other, or I think so, I think that's where he
was going with.
Speaker 6 (35:00):
So I just book a two bedroom, sweet wherever you're going.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
But I think we need to ask one more question,
and it's got to do with Dasher. But Dash's friend.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
Dasher Dash Kazakina. Ye yes, a new addition to the
shores here in Australia. Yea.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
Now, Dash, your your mates with other Dasher? Yeah, yeah,
that's really good. It's not good.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
We saw you guys hanging out together at Rolling Garras
on Other Dasher's vlog.
Speaker 6 (35:26):
This is her channel and there's you. What are you
guys talking about pre Han.
Speaker 5 (35:31):
We're telling her to make a wish because it's like
a tradition if you well, not a tradition. What's it called,
like for good luck?
Speaker 6 (35:42):
Superstition?
Speaker 5 (35:42):
Superstition? Yeah that if you make a wish.
Speaker 6 (35:46):
If you dash heaps stuff from the shop, if.
Speaker 5 (35:48):
You make a wish between the same names, it will
come true. Oh, telling her that I love that, But
last names don't count, so you can't.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
Just oh right, okay, I'll marry you and then we
can have some good Yeah. Now she just got engaged.
She did so exciting.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
But she's moving to Melbourne. Are you orchestrating her to
live close?
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Surely you're like, this is a good house in a
good street right next door to mine.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
How about this empty room in myself?
Speaker 5 (36:19):
I did send her some houses to look at, But
at the same time, I think she wants an apartment. Cool,
she doesn't really get it like that. The whole thing
here is like to buy a house.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
I suppose most of the time she comes to Melbourne
it's for an event. She's probably in a hotel and
she's like, it's okay, I'm right in the city. Yeah,
take her out to Brighton, some Kilda. There's some great
spots out there.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
But we might move on to the fantasy draft free cap.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Oh, yes, to lead this because I wasn't here when
you did it, because we were all in rolling Garrols
and you were back here.
Speaker 6 (36:55):
So Luke and I were here. So for those who
were listening at the time or have been, Oh, your hair.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
Does look good? Yeah, no, it looks better now that mule. Yeah,
no good, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (37:07):
You look younger. Now, that's the thing. It's just actually
comparing the pair.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
So we did a fantasy draft.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
I was commissioner.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
We had viv Christie and Simon Ray and of course
Luke Saville and each were picking two men and two
women to go as far as they could into the event.
And as you'll see, Luke, you did a really good job. However,
two things. One you lost Alex to Simon.
Speaker 6 (37:30):
Yeah Demon.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Second, yeah, you lost is another guy putting it? Have
you given Demon a bit of grief? Like, come on, mate,
did you know that the most thing about this.
Speaker 7 (37:39):
Just looking at that, I wanted to give him at
least a week before I slid into his DMS.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
But now's the time.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Now it's time. It really gets.
Speaker 7 (37:48):
Stuck in because I don't want to put the blame
on him, but he's completely cost me.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
Absolutely, Like if he had just done a couple offer
things differently.
Speaker 7 (37:58):
If he made the quarters, which I was hoping at least, yep,
I take home the title. Yeah, so Demon, if you're listening,
I know you are listening, come on.
Speaker 5 (38:11):
I think Mirror would be disappointed as well. She would
feel like she'll let you, yeah, let you down.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
Actually, and Eager as well.
Speaker 7 (38:21):
Yep, Semi's yeah, pretty good, Andreava.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
I was happy with that.
Speaker 7 (38:27):
I was happy with that turn at five six quarters, Semis,
I was hoping maybe, yeah, Eager could have pushed into
the final there.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
But if it helps Simon rays like he's a start
a scientist, so he's computed.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
We would hope that he would win.
Speaker 6 (38:42):
Yeah, kind of gives him.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
Some the real loser probably he was probably sending them
all the notes on players, that's all he does.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
I mean, it was pretty risky at the time because
you were playing the qualities at the time when we
were doing this, and it was like, come on, look,
why aren't you putting dash in there. Anything could work
out quite well here. So maybe it's his fault about
your results thoughts comments.
Speaker 4 (39:04):
They didn't have you on the graphics, the producers.
Speaker 6 (39:12):
But I think you should have a little quiet word
with viv nineteenth.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
Pretty yeah, I know, shame thinking about storylines. Anyway, if
sabal anchor one, she would have been.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
Yeah, this would have happened.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
Yeah yeah, Sablanca one.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Yeah. Okay, Well, congratulations Simon Ray.
Speaker 6 (39:34):
Yeah, the draft wind was a bit of fun, a
bit wacky.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Right, Let's move on to something really exciting. Top five.
So while I'm always watching a slam, I have a
particular in the fashion. So today we're going to look
at my top five fashion moments.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Yeah your nay?
Speaker 6 (39:51):
So are these fashion faux pas or fashion win Well.
Speaker 5 (39:54):
That's what we're going to talk about, is really honest
sable Anca, honest.
Speaker 6 (39:59):
Oh this is good.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
Come into that.
Speaker 6 (40:00):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
So we're gonna go with number five, five, and number
five we have Sinner. He's in a Nike green and
blue combination, which I am saying nay to.
Speaker 6 (40:11):
Yeah, it's the little white collar.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
The white collar is no, he looks like a little.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
A little boy, a little lad who's going going to
the country club with money?
Speaker 5 (40:20):
I just I feel no opinion. I don't feel anything.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
It's worse.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
Yeah, because if you hate something, at least you could
and be like, I want it to be different.
Speaker 5 (40:30):
It's just okay.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
If you walked in Luke and they were like, cool,
we're going to pop you in this, what would you say?
Speaker 2 (40:36):
Yeah, your name?
Speaker 6 (40:37):
He'd be like is it free? Great? I'd be like,
paying me, I'll go out naked.
Speaker 5 (40:42):
Wow, Okay, we might let's drilled in.
Speaker 6 (40:46):
What's your price point?
Speaker 7 (40:48):
We've talked about it.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
Okay, we might move.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
To four on that note before we have on Dreva.
Now there's two comments I have here. I really quite
liked this outfit on court. On court, so she's in
a a burgundy Nike outfit when she's on court, it
was kind of like a halter feeling look with a
(41:15):
nice side plate. But then she walked out on court
where Nike had this longer skirt that you could wear.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
It wasn't good.
Speaker 5 (41:24):
But I think Queenie was saying that she was a
bit too shy to wear. Did you see that? Yeah?
So she was well and she mir mirror looks sad
wearing it.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
No Queenie did the interview before Andreva wore it. So
from what I understand, they all got it with their
kit and it was suggested that they walk out on
court with it.
Speaker 5 (41:48):
And then if you're on court seven, like how stupid?
Do you know how hard it is to get through
to court? I don't know, is there like it's hard
to get through the courts, like with the crowd, and
then you're wearing this like stupid scur.
Speaker 6 (42:11):
Yeah it does. It's giving her talents, giving the.
Speaker 5 (42:17):
Outfit the actual match outfit is good.
Speaker 2 (42:19):
I don't really.
Speaker 5 (42:20):
I don't like the shoes though. That there.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
I didn't like her shoes.
Speaker 5 (42:23):
There is the blues, the accent, the accent, but I
don't know, like it just doesn't.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
I didn't like her shoes because sabs warts seem like outfits,
but Sabs had better shoes.
Speaker 6 (42:32):
It looks like she's I didn't.
Speaker 5 (42:33):
Like that blue.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
I didn't like that blue on blue.
Speaker 5 (42:36):
I didn't like the blue.
Speaker 6 (42:38):
I just thought, yes, yeah, yes, so we all agree, yeah,
clap out the middle photo are the two great.
Speaker 1 (42:46):
Next three, we're going with a soaker who was Pink
Fear and she had her cute buns in and the
pink visor.
Speaker 5 (42:55):
Do you know what we were talking about in the
locker room with I was it was Paulini Jazzy. There
were a few girls anyway, We were like, how early
do you think she got to the courts to do this?
To do her hair? Like you know how I talked
about my routines, like she would have had to be here,
(43:18):
she would have. Yeah, I really like it.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
It's a big yay from me.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
It is.
Speaker 2 (43:26):
Very Hawaii. Yeah, very anime.
Speaker 5 (43:29):
Soakura.
Speaker 2 (43:30):
Yeah that's the.
Speaker 5 (43:34):
Now, the Japanese Sakura, the tree y Yeah, yeah, yeah,
you're right, Yeah, it is secura.
Speaker 6 (43:44):
I was feeling good about myself now for like an idiots.
Speaker 2 (43:47):
Okay, we're gonna move on to number two.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
Bring it home with Asi Hamburgers.
Speaker 6 (43:54):
It's the Hamburger.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
I loved it personally, Yeah, because you love him.
Speaker 5 (43:59):
I don't like the stripe.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
Yeah, it's very I liked it.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
It was a jailbird.
Speaker 6 (44:08):
Bad boy, bad.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
Boy, bad boy boy.
Speaker 5 (44:10):
But you know they never have like, no one only
I choose my outs, you know. Excuse you need to
look at players that are not sponsors and see what
they choose, and then you can be like, wow, what
is she wearing like she chose that, like they don't
have enoughtion?
Speaker 3 (44:29):
Can we when that next time? I want to dash
the top five.
Speaker 5 (44:34):
Because you need to look at unsponsored players and qualities
and be.
Speaker 6 (44:37):
Like, wow, choice, I love it.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
Okay, we're going to bring it home with number one.
It's she looks because I loved her socks.
Speaker 5 (44:50):
The socks are jacket everything that called her fashions on
and off the court.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
I love make her fast please people, new balance one
piece with quite a great pleated skirt. She also walked
on court in a leather jacket.
Speaker 6 (45:08):
Yes she did, James, and.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
She's got a frilled so co on.
Speaker 5 (45:13):
See like big fan of Cocon love the shoes, grow up.
I want to be like Coco.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
I even loved how her hair looked. It was just
so good watching how I was like, man, you are
so bloody cool. And like her nails. I'm sure Luke
so the nails.
Speaker 6 (45:30):
Yeah, she had fingernails, can confirm the detail for me.
But the socks are cool and she can put them
just like in her little rolling Garols trophy to keep
them safe.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
