Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, welcome to the tennis for another week of clay play.
It's had us all talking and here are the headlines.
Djokovic disaster in Monte Carlo was demon and Pop roll
into the round of sixteen. Alex Yala gains direct entry
into her first Grand Slam mainraw at Roland Garross and
the Aussie women take on Kazakhstan and Colombia for a
spot in the b JK Cup finals. I'ms a muleback
your host for this little tennis tour through the tournament's alliteration. No,
(00:28):
no points for that brain now great? Joining me is
always his Brie Stuart with Bunny is why have we
got these on?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
That's right? Do you like that? I just sort of
put them on without any knowledge of.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Why, but you did have knowledge?
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Oh okay, well, removing that fourth wall.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
So joining us once again, father of Tofu, husband of Dasher.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
It's Luke Savil. Welcome back, mate, Thanks guys, great to
be back.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Oh good and for the very first time, Queen of
Tennis Australia p R and Australian Open Lot.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah really the ruler.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
Of the roosting me up there?
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah, your boss pre is about to jump in the
door and go Actually I'm in charge. But that's fine.
She doesn't listen. It's fine. Welcome Colorado, Riccio, thank you
excited to be here. Why did you agree to be
on the show.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
I didn't know there was a choice. If I did,
maybe I would have, you know, acted differently. No, I'm
pumped to be.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
A fan of the show.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Great being tennis head, big tennis head here because.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
You have knowledge, yes, which you know, which we needed. Yes,
but that's a lesson for our fans out there. If
you listen enough, you might end up on it. So
that's yea the bars. Yeah, good, Well we'll jump right in.
We've done our intros. Let's get what's caught your eye?
Luke kick us off. You've been man about the world
back into Australia as of earlier this week.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
What's caught your eye this week?
Speaker 6 (01:39):
In LANDA TWNA mine is the Houston two point fifty
just gone and the two titles from Jensen Brooksby and
John Patrick Smith the Aussie and Jensen Brooksby, Well, he's
spent two years away from the sport with two injuries,
the right and left wrist, so we had surgeries on
those and a ten month ban as well. So three
(01:59):
miss tests drug tests. I think it's probably good to
tell all the viewers about whereabouts. So a lot of
the top players in the world, you have to put
in an app one hour every day of where you'll
be just in case of random drug tests, and he
missed three of those.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Really, so it happened.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
It's a good question. I don't know. And he's been
very open about his autism as well, and that's a
topic very close to my heart as well. So he
was nonverbal till four so pretty amazing story.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Really.
Speaker 6 (02:34):
He was had a career high of thirty three in
twenty twenty two at the age of twenty one. It's
an amazing player. Then two years away from the sport,
came back won his first title in Houston from being
a qualify a wild card ander qualifying, so amazing story there.
And then the Aussie John Patrick Smith story of persistence.
And he's down to the rank of sixty one. Career
(02:55):
high of fifty two in twenty seventeen, so not too
far from that career high. He was an alternate into
Indian Wells, made the semi finals and then one Houston,
so you know, probably it was around maybe ninety before
Indian Wells and now sitting at sixty one, got a
new partner in Fernando Romboli, a Brazilian guy, and looking
(03:16):
to really push on this year. So yeah, two great
stories of persistence.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
So I think, I mean, maybe it's just me, but
this app thing, I had no idea that was. So
it's literally just a nap that ever goes. Oh yeah,
I'm in turkmenis down right now.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
Yeah, so you know, Daris, my wife's on it, and
I was on it for a few years as well.
And we have all sorts of random tests at our
house and a lot of the players. I think the
earliest you can put in is six am because you
know you'll be home. So yeah, we have all sorts
of six am drug tests come to the door, and
Tofu's not happy. Yeah, he wakes up about eight, so
(03:51):
he's barking and really keeping a keep.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Always came to give a year example actually on the side, he's.
Speaker 6 (03:56):
Not sure and yeah, so he follows Dashery in all that.
But yeah, so it's cute. Look, I think it's just
one of those ones where we see the top players
in the world. We see all the perks and whatnot,
but you know it's not all so glamorous. So yeah,
he had three miss tests there, Jensen brooks By, but
he's back now, wild card into qualifying, qualifies, wins the tournament.
(04:20):
Amazing story and a fantastic player has wins over Fritz
Ruod and Berrettini, all Slam finalists, So very impressive.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah, it's gonna be a big year.
Speaker 7 (04:29):
Yep, not just a qualifier, but a wild card qualifier.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Yeah, just such a good story. Yeah, brand follow all
the way through.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
So a few weeks ago I was talking about Madison Keys,
current Australian Open champion. Love her game, love her as
a person, but at the moment women's American tennis is
just dominating. Five that of the eight quarter finalists in
Charleston were from the US Anisamova, Navarro, Cannan, Pagoula, Collins,
and we could have had two all American semi finals
if it went for a bit of an unluck of
(04:58):
the draw. But women's tennis in America it is a
renaissance that we think.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Well three of the top five, like that's incredible.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yeah, that's massive.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
And Jesspa Gooul has just taken Coco spot as number three.
Coco still in the five, but still it's huge for her.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yeah, definitely, because Coco is one of those enduring names.
She's on all the Nike billboards.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
But yeah, to be kind of put down by one
of your countrymen quite the story.
Speaker 7 (05:20):
Yeah, it's big. It's really good for American women's tennis.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yeah, and we see it every year in the summer
of tennis down here in Australia where the Americans coming down.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
They really are fun to watch. The fans love them.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
They've got really great personalities attitudes, from the happiness of
Coco to the naughtiness.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yeah, let's go with sas naughtiness.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
They seem to be really friendly, like they seem to
be friends.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Off the court.
Speaker 5 (05:45):
They always seem to be in each other's videos and
posts on social media. Like whether that camaraderie and like
friendly competitiveness between them is assisting, I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Well, speaking of social something caught your eye. It's related
to Luke in a way talk me through it yet.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
Funnily enough, it is a video posted on TikTok by
Oussie player Darius Savile, wife of Luke Savill, friend of
the pod I did not know Luke would be on
the pod tonag, but it actually makes it all the
more interesting. So Dasha posted a video in the last
week openly questioning why brands seem to prioritize working with
tennis wags quote unquote over the actual athletes.
Speaker 8 (06:23):
Let's talk brand deals for a second.
Speaker 9 (06:25):
Tennis aesthetics are in right now, right till over the place,
but female tennis blairs are not getting those brand deals.
Speaker 8 (06:33):
It's actually tennis wags that fit into the esthetics rather
than us sweaty tennis blairs. Spoken to a few influencer
wags and they're surprised that we don't get the same opportunities.
Is it that athletes are not as relatable as wags
to the audience?
Speaker 9 (06:52):
The funny thing, I didn't get ready with me to
watch my husband play a tennis match during Australian Open,
and it did so much better.
Speaker 8 (07:01):
And I got old, old up and it did so
much better.
Speaker 9 (07:04):
Than all of my other videos where I'm like, oh,
here's a day in the life of a professional tennis player.
Speaker 8 (07:10):
I don't know, is that our personalities that.
Speaker 9 (07:12):
All we do is just think about tennis. But I've
got a personality and it's salty right now. Of course
the top tennis players that have their big sponsorships. Do
marketing teams think tennis players are too niche compared to
a wag? Is it the whole glamorous life compared to
sweat life? Is it more aspirational to be a wag
(07:34):
than a female athlete? And honestly mind boggling to me
that brands are picking influencers for their campaigns during Grand
Slams And I'm definitely not the only female tennis player
that feels that way the marketing girls, why is that?
Speaker 8 (07:50):
Sorry, if I came across salty af I'm done here.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
Having a look at comments. I mean I try to
steer away from comments on.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
There were a lot of comments rating the yes both.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
Ways, and I mean I took notice straight away because
for me, it like perfectly perfectly encapsulates.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
The challenge in my role. And Bree, you probably can
speak to this as well.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
Where As a PR person for Tennis Australia, obviously we're
trying to promote the athletes and promote the sport in turn,
but also I work with lots of brands and partners
that you know, at the end of the day, it's
a numbers game. They need a return on investment, they
need figures, and in this day and age, often they're
getting that from influences. I find it really relatable. I
am so glad that Dasha brought it up because she
(08:32):
really stuck her head out doing that, because I'm sure
they probably will be a little bit of backlash. I
think it's an important conversation to have in terms of
brands wanting to work with wags quote unquote. I know
that's not always the most we have.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
A what are you hag? Yeah, hag. I think he's
a coach.
Speaker 7 (08:50):
Yeah, but I stopped diminishing who Luke is.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
It's more than dasha'st.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
I'm not trying to diminish him. I'm just elevating women
in tennis. Sorry, Karla ordering.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
I just think, yeah, good on Dasher for bringing it up.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
I think from the perspective of a brand, I think
tapping into that wag, that influence of that content creator audience,
I think it's brought a whole new audience to tennis
and to the sport.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
I think that's a positive.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
I think people that previously would never have turned up
to a Grand Slam or tuned in to watch it
on TV and now engaging with the sport and what
you hope is in turn that generates more opportunities for everyone,
including the athletes, more earning opportunities all round. I think also,
I know from the space that I work in, one
of the biggest challenges for brands working with athletes is access,
(09:35):
especially tennis players. They are on tour most of the year.
It's not their fault, but they can't be in an event,
they can't record something when it's needed, and I think
especially during the Slams and the big tournaments, when interest
in the sport is highest, that is when they're the
most locked in and the least available understandably, so perhaps
working with the wags and the influences is a clever
workaround where you've still got access to the sport, you know,
(09:58):
without being able to work with the athlete directly.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
You've still got someone who can go to the met gal.
Speaker 7 (10:02):
Yeah, but I think from my perspective, right to put
a spin on it, I know people who follow tennis
players like tennis. But if so, if I want to
get a new audience for social for this train, open
getting a wag who might have people who are more
aligned with lifestyle fashion rather than pure tennis. Means that
(10:26):
I'm getting a new audience, so I utilize them to
get a new audience, where for example, Dasher's audience I
think we'd probably already have ideally because it's pure tennis.
So that's kind of the flip side from my world.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
But what's great is players like Dasher who are doing
both content like that, not not so much this one
in particular, but get ready with me as a non
tennis content, I would imagine correct if I'm wrong, breed
kind of taps into those others.
Speaker 7 (10:54):
Yeah, yeah, but I think that might be why sometimes
the wags are getting out over the tennis players.
Speaker 6 (10:59):
I'm not on tiktop and I was facetiming my mum
a couple of weeks ago and maybe a week and
she goes, what's this video that Dash has just put up? Okay, no,
I don't know what is it? And then my mum
goes into depth and I'm just like, well, look, mom,
I just respectfully, I'll stay out of it and not
on TikTok. But yeah, I've seen the video and there's
a few people talking about it, and I.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Like that conversation.
Speaker 6 (11:22):
I like her from Dasha. She's always not afraid to
speak her mind. Be a bit controversial, but it comes
from a good place. She's got a good heart, and
you know, she's a bit of.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
As I have a personality, she has a personality, we know.
Speaker 7 (11:36):
And I liked the end of it too because she
was like, I'm not sure if I'm going to post this.
I'm going to send it to my friends first, to
a tennis players as well, and see what they think.
It was a good video, it's a good conversation.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
And play the creative first.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
She's fantastic.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
She's just good. Yeah, sorry, Mum've got to go walk
to her for and then you ran off.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Yeah, fair enough, all right, Well moving on with caught
your eye, Brie, Yes, what caught your eye in tennis?
Speaker 7 (12:02):
So what caught my eye was alex Yala after her
amazing run in Miami, has seen some great ranking jumps
over the past few days.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Week.
Speaker 7 (12:15):
So last week she was ranked to number seventy five,
and now without having played all week, she's hit number
seventy three.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Bang, that was easy, I'm obviously joking.
Speaker 7 (12:26):
Yeah, So she's got a big kind of what do
you call it? Schedule of Clay coming up. She's got
areas in Portugal Open, Madrid Open, the Catalunya Open, Italian Open,
Palma Ladies Open, and then rolling into Roland.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Garros, rolling to Rollin.
Speaker 7 (12:43):
Where she will be in the main draw for the
first time. So because of those ranking jumps, she's made
it through to main draw. She lost last year in
the last round of qualies, and that will make her
the first female Filipino Slam.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Huge, big shout out to our Filipino fans of the show.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
I haven't seen much of her, but I think for
me and I can speak more on the men's side,
it's great to see just someone pushing into that top
hundred because she's been on I guess, the challenger circuit
for so many years, and especially on the men's side,
that gap is just not that much from challenges into
the touraments. Of course the guys are better, but it's
not as big as what people might think. So great
(13:25):
to see that she made I guess took full advantage
of that wild card into Miami and had some huge
wins and now she's ranked seventy three in the world
nineteen years old, and she could be definitely one to
watch for years to come.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
I'm sure what caught all of our eyes and everyone's eyes.
Novak Djokovic this week had let's say, a bit of
a nightmare run, a bit of an early exits.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Words, yeah, his words.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
I'm not taking any out of context, but lost in
his first match against Allejandro Tabiilo six three sixty four.
Speaker 10 (13:58):
Look, I was hoping this is not going to happen,
but there was quite a high probability I'm going to
play this way. I don't know. It's just horrible, horrible
feeling to play this way, and just sorry for all
the people that had to witness this.
Speaker 7 (14:13):
Someone asked, so, what's your goal on Clay and he
just went rolling Garras and that was kind of the
end of the of the press conference. I do feel
for him though that that would you know, when we
have a bad day at work, you go home feel
constantly the pits. You would every day is a bad
time for you. But like I just it must be
a hard feeling. What do you think it was? Do
(14:33):
you think he's just body's not in condition, tired after Miami?
Speaker 3 (14:38):
What do you think it might be?
Speaker 6 (14:39):
I think, as I mentioned, the eyes probably bothering him
a little bit as well, like quite a sizeable sort
of you know, infection there. Yeah, I just feel like
with Djokovic, he's achieved everything. That's why I was just
questioning why he goes to Monte Carlo. Obviously an amazing place,
Master Theory is one of the best settings in tennis,
but just to go there and to fron up week
(15:00):
in week out, I was reasonably surprised even fronted up
for Monte Carlo, and obviously in the twilight of his
career now literally achieving everything. He's definitely picking a I guess,
a lighter schedule and just prioritizing the really big events,
and obviously Roland Garross is his big priority in the
Grand Slams, and so I was surprised he sort of
(15:21):
went there, especially after the final in Miami and having
that eye infection as well, and so he turned up
and just watching a little bit of his match last
night against Tabiloh, and he just didn't look right into
the match. And for me, Djokovic, when he's just got
that focus and concentration is almost unbeatable, and he just
sort of didn't have that in that match. And to
(15:42):
Bilo is one of three players to have played Djokovic
more than once and beaten him all times, so it
was too and zero on Djokovic. So a little bit
of a random stat that one, but obviously isn't shared. Yeah,
and Tabilo's been struggling bit this year, so a huge
win for Tabilo nonetheless, great confidence boost for him. But yeah,
(16:05):
for Djokovic, it's I'm sure he'll probably take a couple
of weeks off and I definitely wouldn't ride him off
for the Roland Garross just yet.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
So think Luke, I'm just throwing this out there, but
we know he is very big into his records and
you know the history of his career. He's chasing that
elusive hundred ATP title. Could that it's a nice round number,
no one's ever done it before. I don't know whether
that's maybe a small motivator that final slam he's chasing
as well.
Speaker 6 (16:31):
Yeah, Ondred, I think that's a great point by you,
but sort of feel like with Djokovic, he's probably just
going to believe that he will get it eventually, doesn't
need to rush a week after Miami to hunt that.
So interesting scheduling for me, because you know, last week
I was with Alex Stemna, for example, and he was
sort of checking the list leading up to Monte Carlo
(16:52):
and he was sort of seeing if someone was going
to withdraw because he was going to go into the
eighth seed and get a buyer. So he was sort
of also thinking that Jokovic was going to be the
one to pull out. In the end, it was Fritz
who pulled out and Alex got the buyer. But yes,
scheduling interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes probably
Madrid off and just maybe plays one or two le
(17:13):
into the French Open and just really freshens up.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Yeah, is he going to be back in Melbourne and
jam Is there any fears there or is it just like, yeah,
of course he will.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
You kin't have a discount Novack.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
I mean, was it last year when he you know,
that injury that took him out of the I'm going
to get this wrong, Luke, correct me, But you know
went out with an injury that you should have been
months head surgery. And then he makes the semis at
Wimbledon like he's sort of he'll be back, not human
in the best way possible.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
There is no doubt he'll be at the A But
he does love the stats you've got.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
You've got your team constantly updating that atp.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
We've had that hundred visual and ready for it.
Speaker 7 (17:52):
Can we just finish on Monte Carlo a little bit
more because overnight.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
I'll keep us on track.
Speaker 7 (18:00):
Back we see Alan for the buttons overcame mccatch, which
I think, did I say that right?
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Hatch? Hatch?
Speaker 6 (18:08):
You didn't. It's my hatch, but I have been saying
it wrong.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Great, that's how he knows.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
You know, I'm bad with this stuff.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
And then reading please continue fanetics.
Speaker 7 (18:21):
And then Poppy Poprin took out Francis Tiafo, which is
really exciting. So great run for both of them.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
Big for Alexi, like that's he's he hasn't taken down
the big foe. Well, he's had a tough start to
twenty twenty five, and that's a first tournament this year
where he's won two matches consecutively, and he's got a
new coach.
Speaker 6 (18:41):
Yeah, Wayne Ferrera's come in and Alexi spoke about him
coming in and just changing the grip on his back
end right away. So not afraid to come in and
sort of make a change and make a bit of
a statement I guess, and I watched that match against
Ugo Humbert first round popperin and Humbert actually had a
broken right hand, so he was unable to hit two
(19:03):
handed backhands properly. I was watching and he.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Was stop go home.
Speaker 6 (19:09):
Yeah there's there's photos around he could maybe get those,
will check him in the show. And yeah, all strapped up.
And I was because I watched Ugo play Alex in
the uts about a week ago and he wasn't hitting
his back end the same in that match, but he
was serving great, finding four hands and and yeah, playing
very well. And Alexi was down a set, won this
(19:29):
second set in a tie break, so it was a
close one. But as Carla said that, it's been a
tough start to the year for Popper and the changing coach,
and yeah, tough sort of Aussie summer as well. So
but he's a great player. Couldn't have two better guys
at the top of the game in Ossie men's tennis
than those two boys. Great role models for all our juniors,
(19:52):
and just really hope Alexi can keep pushing on and
sort of get seated at Grand Slams and keep progressing
because he's a great play.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Yeah, so Poppy's secret weapon. You heard it here first
an opponent with a broken arm, who knew that was
going to be an advantage?
Speaker 7 (20:08):
Well, Lexi faces Kaspar Root next and Alex has Medvedev,
so be looking forward to seeing what happens with that.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Absolutely well.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Sticking with the Aussies for a little bit, bjk Cupp
there's a big tie happening up there in Brisbane right now.
Ossies are on home soil, meeting Kazakhs down to Columbia
in a round robin to qualify for the final. And
we sent friend of the show Vic Rudnikov up there
and she caught up with Isla tom Lanovich.
Speaker 11 (20:34):
Yeah, and you and Charleston last week. Obviously very different
conditions playing on the green clay. How do you adjust
and come here to Brisbane?
Speaker 5 (20:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (20:42):
Luckily Brisbane is such a familiar place for me. I
have so many memories here, and look, tennis is Tennis
is just a bit of a different surface, but nothing
that you know, takes just a little bit of time
to adjust, and we have that, so no excuses, and
I think we're all excited to be playing.
Speaker 11 (20:56):
Brisy And for someone who hasn't you know, been to
an event like before, what can they expect?
Speaker 12 (21:02):
You can expect really good energy, a lot of fight
from our team and just a winning spirit and good food.
Speaker 11 (21:10):
And what sets a team Australia apart from the rest.
What's so unique about you guys that you bring to
the court.
Speaker 12 (21:16):
I think the fact that our camaraderie is really strong.
You know, other teams, I feel like you got to
really make them stick together. And I think the culture
in our team is that once someone joins, you can
really feel it. At least that's how it was for me.
It comes really naturally to just get along with everyone.
There's no outcasts. We lift each other up. But also
(21:37):
we're kind of honest with each other as well, and
I think that makes a relationship really genuine.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Now Columbia's obviously had a bit of a change to
their team, but Kazakhstans super strong. How the Oussie girl
is going to go in this tie and lead up
to the potential final, It's.
Speaker 6 (21:53):
Going to be a tough one. Today. I think Sam's
come out and really labeled them as the underdogs, and
I'm I think you can agree with that. World number
ten and twenty two for Kazakhstan playing singles, so very
tough one starting off for our Aussie women. Kim Birell
has been playing great. Her past record in I guess
(22:13):
playing for Ustrike hasn't been great. I think she's zero
and four when she's played singles and obviously maya amazing
starts of the year, but debuting as well, so relatively
inexperienced there. But I guess the positives are they can
go out there, have a swing, nothing to lose, sort
of attitude and sort of take it up to the
Kazakhstan team.
Speaker 9 (22:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:33):

Please continue your brain?
Speaker 7 (24:24):
So is everyone ready? There's going to be points. I'm
going to decide the points, and I'm going to decide
the winner. You've already started it on minus five?
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Yes, that is making sense to me.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Okay, do you have a number one or something? Okay?

Speaker 7 (25:33):
The next question, what is Craig Tiley's favorite type of
Easter egg?
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Will you see the African so South African specialty?
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Yeah? Which is the credit pronunciation of a kudo.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
You don't know what that is.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
It's a large deer like creature, native.
Speaker 6 (25:51):
Specific if I say Cadbury, more specific than that, Yeah,
Cadbury crunchy, cabriy cream egg.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
God. Okay.
Speaker 7 (26:40):
How many mini chocolate eggs fit in the Norman Brooks Trophy.
The approximate volume of the trophy is seventeen points seventeen
point seven liters, and a mini chocolate egg is three
centimeters in height and has a one seven radius.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Love maths on a tennis.
Speaker 6 (27:00):
Six thousand, two thousand, two hundred.
Speaker 7 (27:03):
Okay, you're the closest eighteen hundred. Yeah, okay, Luke's at
one hundred.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
You're on minus fifty.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
You're on zero at least changing getting lower two two?
Speaker 5 (27:19):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Do I get a point for that?
Speaker 5 (27:20):

our audience.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Says that, now that was good.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Did you enjoy it?
Speaker 2 (28:20):
That was fun?
Speaker 1 (28:21):
And I enjoy I think I got back to zero. Yeah, yeah,
I'm taking that as a win.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Yeah, it's tougher than Yeah, it was.
Speaker 6 (28:27):
A great quiz.
Speaker 7 (28:28):
Thank you more quizzes, I think, yeah, yeah, it's more fun.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Okay, good, good, good.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
Well, Now, as we do every week, we'd like to
sum things up with our Ace of the week. The
best thing that's happened to you this week. Doesn't have
to be tennis, for I prefer if it's not Luke
hit us off. What's your ace of the week spot?
I'm going to go every week on the show.
Speaker 6 (28:49):
Okay, when suit suit fitting last night you probably saw
on my instagram Dahari's Instagram. We're going to a wedding
in the Philippines this weekend. So traveling for a wedding,
but no, we've got very good friends there on an
island there Sharga so beautiful. It looks like an amazing setting,
(29:09):
going to be warm. So I got a real light,
real light, yep, went in there. I'm a big sweater
mid thirties. What have you got?
Speaker 2 (29:17):
When they fitted me out and he's the lightest material.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
We're feeling all too well.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
As a fellow sweater.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
As a sweater, yes, get it.
Speaker 6 (29:24):
Looking forward to that and yeah, a bit of a
change of pace.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
Absolutely to the Philippines before.
Speaker 6 (29:30):
I have for a junior tournaments in Manila. Yeah, just
remember having to cross one of the main streets of
no stop lights and you just had to walk and
put your hand out otherwise you wouldn't get over, and
you just had to commit this suit will be a
traffic stop, and they did, and they did move for
you the cars.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
So okay, well, that's good.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Cool. I've not been to the Philippines, but I've heard
it's beauty.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Yeah, that's good. Well, keep an eye on those two
social channels.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
We'll see I always do. Yeah, you're always on top
of what they're up to.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
We know it's been not carlor. What's your race of
the week?
Speaker 4 (29:59):
Mine is the White Lotus finale, not because on a beach,
but because it's over.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
I was a little bit slow.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
On the uptake. Do I want to watch it? Don't I?
Speaker 5 (30:10):
It was all over my social media. The chat in
the office was NonStop. I felt pressured to watch it.
So underwhelming. So glad it's done, So glad we can
move on.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
We'll bring on season four.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Yeah, okay, you know what I felt the same.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
I haven't seen it and I have no really interesting.
Speaker 7 (30:26):
Now I'm kind of starting because I've podcast buff and
I listened to podcasts constantly, and I've listened to so
many podcasts dissecting that final episode and why it led
to that, and how the whole the whole season was
about edging you to this kind of final climax of
it and.
Speaker 5 (30:48):
It.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Okay, Carla literally just said that she's glad it's over,
so please continue your fifteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
I felt the same, but now I don't. I'm like, oh,
maybe it was really clever.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
Well we are if you need like six podcasts to
explain why it was good?
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Is it good? Great point?
Speaker 1 (31:05):
Yes, Well, we're going on a two week break, so
you can just binge that all you like and then
come back and not tell Carla about it. Okay, Okay,
deal done, Carla looks thrilled. We'll sticking with you, Bree.
What's your ace of the week.
Speaker 7 (31:20):
My ice of the week is that we are going
on Easter break. Yes, so as of tomorrow it is
tennis Australia's Christmas.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Yes, well that's right.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
So because summer is so crazy for us here at Australia,
we work through Christmas.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
Yeah, we don't get it.
Speaker 7 (31:35):
We don't get it unfortunately, because Istraia Open and United
Cup and all those things kind of fall.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
Over Christmas, which is fun.
Speaker 7 (31:42):
So this is our break and my one of my
best friends and I we are going to Dalsford for
a couple of days.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
So I've booked a house.
Speaker 7 (31:51):
Carla lives in Dalsford, so we're gonna see Carla.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
I hope she doesn't know this yet.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
She doesn't know it yet, but yeah, so her and I.
Speaker 7 (31:59):
She's never been like Charlie and I met in our
twenties in bars in Sydney, working behind the bar, not
on the bar.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
And so I'm taking him to.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
And I think, well, shout out.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
Some friends of mine, Jenny and Owen run a wine
cellars and kind of provide all their wine's peak. Check
it out if you're in the region.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
I will free plugs.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Regret that.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Yeah, well they might have some good sales, make some money.
Yeah you roll in that. Restock my ace of the week. Now,
I've got two little kids, two boys. Darcy in finn Hello, boys,
if you're watching, I don't know how you don't have
a phone. But Darcy has always been allergic to egg
and this week yesterday in fact, he had an appointment
with his allergist and they did another test.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
Thing. He's great out of it, excellent, so he can
eat all the excellent.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Well, well, the first thing he said was oh Dad,
now I can eat Easter eggs. And I'm like, mate,
they're chocolate, but cool, whatever you want.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
So he's obviously got your intellect.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
Thanks.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
That was good and my reaction was not. But yeah,
so that's pretty excited. He can go to birthday parties,
eat all the cake. He wants no longer to have
to pour over the kids.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Men get eggs, cakeggs in freaking everything.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
You go to the pub and it's like you look
at the kids menu and it's like, you know, oh, kids,
Parma nuts.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Got eggs on.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Yeah, You've got to check the back of the packet
with the chef. Does the nuggets have egg in them?
But now it's like boom, this kid can bathing mayonnaise
for all. Like it's gonna be great. So that is
all of our aces of the week done and dusted.
Enjoy Dalsford, enjoy the Philippines, enjoy no longer having to
sit through Mike White's epic edge edging drama. That is
