That’s it, it’s simple. In my small town, everyone went to the drug store for their cosmetics and skincare. What I loved about that was that we had a little bit of everything and I wasn’t just behind one counter, I was selling everything and I loved the variety of that as well as getting to know the women in my community and they wanted to see me. The smallest thing you can do for someone can make their whole day, even if it’s just selling them lipstick. There have been so many changes since we started in the industry. Firstly, there was no YouTube, people replied to us for help. Young women are so much more sophisticated now, there are a huge number of cosmetics products and departments out there online now, so I feel it’s not as personal as it used to be and I do miss that a lot. People rely more now on the videos and hearsay and want one particular product and that we’re just selling for a commission, there’s not the trust in us anymore, they trust someone from TikTok or YouTube and challenge you. People are chomping at the bit to get pampered again after the pandemic.
