In this episode, Paul speaks with the CEO of the Chiefs Rugby Club in New Zealand, Simon Graafhuis, and Megan Fleming the General Manager of Commercial & Marketing at Chiefs Rugby Club. Simon and Megan have many years of marketing and brand management experience.
The Chiefs Rugby Club was founded in 1996 for the inaugural Super 12 season. The team, initially called the Waikato Chiefs, was one of the five New Zealand professional rugby unions (alongside the Hurricanes, Crusaders, Blues, and Highlanders) who joined the competition and remain part of it.
Simon and Megan discuss the exciting ways digital is augmenting the Chiefs Rugby Club fan experience, including the recent 3-part documentary of the club, Chiefs Pass subscription services, and enhanced brand recognition.
