In de laatste aflevering van de Tubantia Crime Podcast blikken misdaadverslaggevers Erwin Waanders en Maarten Schoon kort terug op 2023. Maar natuurlijk kijken de heren samen met host Frank Bussink ook naar de actualiteit. Over marktplaatsoplichters, een steekpartij in Lemele en de veroordeling van Ronald B.
Voor Erwin is het klip en klaar: de verdwijning van Wico van Leeuwen is voor hem dé zaak van 2023. Hoewel Wico al in 2022 van de aardbodem verdween, speelde de zaak vooral in 2023. „Dat iemand zo ineens van de aardbodem kan verdwijnen, blijft bijzonder", zegt Erwin. „Hier hangt een zweem van geheimzinnigheid omheen. Wie doet iemand zoiets aan? En waarom?”
Maarten volgde de grote zaak rond een cocaïnelijn tussen Curuçao en Twente en de Achterhoek. Tijdens de inhoudelijke behandeling wordt duidelijk hoe dat precies in zijn werk ging. Maarten vat ook kort samen hoe het allemaal ging. „Jij ramt één seizoen Mocro Maffia in tien regels", grapt Frank. „Ja, dat is wel wat het is in feite", reageert Maarten.
Naast een korte terugblik behandelen de heren ook de actualiteit. Met een plofkraak in Rijssen, de veroordeling van Ronald B. uit Deurningen en de zaak tegen drie marktplaatsoplichters uit Enschede en hoe zij te werk gingen. Ze maakten tienduizenden euro's buit, maar moeten nu wel de cel in.
