These parole programmes, established by the Biden administration, allowed eligible individuals from these four nations to reside and work in the US for up to two years, subject to applications, background checks, and financial sponsorship. A senior DHS official criticised these programmes as "disastrous", while legal challenges have already been filed against this move to end them.
