Officieel om de Nederlanden te bevrijden van de Spaanse tirannen, die plunderend, moordend en verkrachtend door de lage landen trokken. Maar Van Oranje had op de eerste plaats een ander belang, legt zijn biograaf René van Stipriaan in deze aflevering uit aan presentator Kevin Goes en koningshuisverslaggever Jeroen Schmale: het terugveroveren van al zijn bezittingen, die de nietsontziende Spaanse hertog van Alva van hem had afgepakt.
