65 cents for every dollar earned by Australian men in the same positions.

That's the reality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.

A new Jobs and Skills Australia study has found this week that Indigenous women have the largest gender pay gap in this country.

So how is this 35 percent pay gap affecting Indigenous women?

Harrison Pedersen caught up with Griffith University Professor Dr Kerry Bodle, who says there are many factors that stop Indigenous women from asking to be paid more.

Other Highlights:

  • New figures into the rates of Indigenous young people being locked up in New South Wales has sparked calls for an independent review.
  • A new project is hoping to reduce the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women dying from cervical cancer.
  • More than 400 people have gathered on Kabi Kabi country on Queensland's Sunshine Coast to hear how clean energy can benefit Indigenous communities.

This week's episode is presented by Adam Evans.
