Investeren in achtbanen klinkt misschien als een flinke rollercoaster, maar dat voelt voor Wouter Dekkers, CEO van Momentum Leisure, niet zo. Met Momentum Leisure exploiteert hij drie pretparken in Polen, een land waar veel ondernemers hun vingers niet aan willen branden. Toch moet Polen niet worden onderschat, zegt Dekkers. 'Ze hebben een ontzettend goede arbeidsmentaliteit.'
Co-host Hans Biesheuvel, oud-voorzitter van Ondernemend Nederland, herkent dat. Het vooroordeel dat het land alleen bekendstaat om de goedkope klusjesmannen is dus ook niet terecht.
Duitsland
Bij een van de buurlanden gaat het minder fortuinlijk. De Duitse werkloosheid is namelijk op het hoogste niveau in zo'n tien jaar tijd. Daarbij laat het land ook amper groei zien. De kersverse regering van Friedrich Merz krijgt dan ook een pittige taak voor de kiezen, zegt hoofdeconoom Carsten Brzeski van ING Duitsland. Het enige lichtpuntje? Duitsland weet ter nauwer nood aan een recessie te ontsnappen.
