Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, mean, Doc Parris, are we are we the boys?

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Jacobs?

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Well, this my head has been you.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Almost walking into a.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Show, Like.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
All right, let's start it up. App State at Old Dominion.
App State is a sixteen and a half point dog
in this matchup, and in his first three starts for
app State, JJ Cole has thrown for seven touchdown passes,
worse four score and had no interceptions.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
App State's four and one record.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Against Old Dominion includes an on one record at SB
Ballad Stadium. Old Dominion is coming off of a sixty
three twenty seven loss at James Madison, while the Mountaineers
lost at home to Coastal Carolina, and we know that
Coastal Carolina battled back to win by fourteen. So both
of these teams coming off of tough losses. But I'm

(01:05):
going to go with ap State to be falling this
week against Oder.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
This's a tough one for me because Old Dominion they're
a good football team. They lost bad sixty three to
twenty seven against James Madison on the road. James Madison
only has one loss on the year. Yes, they did
lose to Marshall. Marshall's four and three, but they've been hot.
They've won four of their last five, and one of
those losses comes to Georgia to open up the season.
So a bunch of good football teams that each of

(01:32):
these squads are playing. App State, I think they can
put some points up on all. We cover ballin. I'll
do that, all right. I think cover ballin. I think
app State overall is falling. I think they will cover.
Just a tough loss. Tough look for them against Coastal.
That was one where they it would have felt a
lot better for them to win that game. They didn't

(01:53):
take care of business. But give me the man govers
toll against Yeah they did. Which guy over there flounding?

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Yeah, I'd say. I mean, look, I don't know a
ton about Old Dominion. I'm not gonna lie to you,
but Rookie, the fact that they are sixteen and a
half point favorites kind of tells you where this team
is at as compared to app State. I think the
fact that it is at Old Dominion as well probably
favors them. The gap State might be able to cover
in this game. I think they've shown you that they're

(02:21):
at least gonna fight in a lot of the games
that they play. This year, but I think they will
ultimately be full.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
The last thing on the Monarchs, ODU I think has
the second or third best loss to Indiana this year.
ODU only lost twenty seven to fourteen to the opener,
and of course we know what Indiana has been doing
to every team in the Big Ten since then.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
So maybe that's the reason enough to bet on the
Monarch and a dominion West Virginia Tech too.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
So odh's good, Yeah, straight up, they are good, all right.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Number six team is a ten and a half point
favorite over North Carolina. Saturday will mark the one hundred
and thirtieth meeting between Virginia and North Carolina, also known
as the South's oldest rivalry.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Rajinga's rushing attack is averaging two hundred and four yards
per game, third in the ACC. UNC's defense ranked six
nationally in red zone defense, allowing opponents to score only
sixty nine point six percent of the time went inside
the twenty, and the Tar Hills defense is holding opponents
to just one hundred and nineteen rushing yards per game.

(03:24):
So talked about Virginia's rushing attack, and Carolina has a
defense that maybe can slow it down. Unfortunately for the
Tar Heels, it will be falling in their rivalry game.
So I gotta tell you those stats. I would have
never guessed any of those promising stats. Yeah, with North
Carolina's defense, I'm shocked. I need to dig in to

(03:49):
see exactly how those things are finagl because it does
not look like.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
Because teams just throw on this team because their corners
can't really cover.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
But also, what do we think about the fact that
virgina'sn't a ten and a half point face?

Speaker 4 (04:01):
I don't know. I'll tell you what I will be doing,
easy money wry Where did Terry roseire? I'll be putting
two hundred thousand dollars Virginia to not only win, I
might lose two hundred thousand dollars with the cover part
of it. But I'll just tell you right now, I'm
gonna put some money down on Virginia covering North Carolina
will be falling.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Ultimately, it passes my test.

Speaker 5 (04:23):
If you've read the story, you understand why I just
played that sound effect. Ah yeah, there ain't no way
in hell. Okay, you're facing the best offense that you
played all year. Chandler Morris is in a rhythm. They're
running the ball incredibly well so far this year. I mean,
they got four different guys that can run the football
for them. Look, Caroline has been decent against the run.

(04:45):
But the thing is is that most teams just pick
them apart in the passing game. I mean you look
at what Kate club Nick did to them, even.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
For Zenna because they got to no passwords. I will say, oh.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
It's terrible.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
And Pryce Yates is no longer with the team, so
that hope is out the way.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
I will say, though, channel Moore, he had been playing
great and then that Washington State game. He wasn't looking
too hot in that game and shoulder. But even in
the first half though, before his shoulder got injured, they
were pathetic. On third down, they were not very good.
So that's what I'm saying. Carolina covered last week. I
wouldn't be spared. I will tell you right now, almost

(05:22):
what's gonna pick Carolina the upset in this game. Man,
I just I just feel funny about this game. It
feels weird to me. I'm gonna stick with Virginia, and
every time I do that it ends up going the
opposite way. But it's just something like I said, that
ten and a half is telling me something. And like
I said, Virginia, you know they they didn't look fantastic.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
I'll say, I'll say we're falling.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
But the one thing that is is strange is that
remember a couple of years ago through a few years ago,
now six and one, coming into this matchup with Virginia,
Virginia not a great team, upsets Carolina.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Can they do the same to Virginia.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
This is one of those This is one of those
rivalry games where, man, you just never know what to expect.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
I just don't ever think a Virginia team has been
as bad as this Carolina team in the last five years.
Like that's how bad the five in the last five
I watched that game against cal I get it. That
game was tovable. They did and the reps did a
lot to help them. But there were a lot of
drafts in this game. And I'm just telling you, I'm sorry.

(06:28):
I don't mean to pilon, but I kind of do
because of how bad I feel about this. Because you
get out, I'll tell you now, I'll set it up.
See Carolina fans man, you know.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
I'll try to look out for you guys, But Listen,
you come into a sleepy little Saturday game stadium, half.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Full crowd, not too jaris.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
You're coming in, you're thinking, you're like, man, you know
this team is trash. We're gonna run through them. We're
gonna do this and overlook them. And then you look
up in the fourth quarter and it's a three point game,
seven point game, and they start to believe a little
bit and to play here, play there. We could be
coming in here on Monday saying what the heck happened
to Virginia?

Speaker 2 (07:05):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
All right, So move it on, SMU three and a
half point favorite, and I think I just saw online
that it moved to two and a half and the
line is dropping. Look at you as they come to
see my wake Forest Demon Deacons on home coming.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
Oh c W, what's your boy on the sideline? Now,
I was gonna sell you this is your game. Yes,
that's a good one, man. This might be the best
game in the ACC this week.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
SMU has four streaks on the line, three game winning
streak versus Wake Force, nine game winning streak and road
conference games, and a program record twenty straight regular season
league wins, the longest in the country. Wake Forest offensive
line no West Bryant doesn't play on it, but has
only allowed one sack per game. This seas fifteenth in

(07:48):
the country. This SMU defensive line is pretty dog on
good and through six games, wake Force has allowed just
twenty points per game and it ranks thirty third nationally
and third in the ACC and the number one pass
efficiency defense in the conference. So what that said. The
crowd is gonna be jazzed up. Wes Brian and Bryce

(08:09):
Brian are gonna be on the sidelines. The wake Forth
Stephen Deacons would be falling buckets.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
I didn't know where you were going to go early
with this one.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Saw when I saw the game, because I know you
like SMU, I do, yeah, So I didn't know where
you were going to go on this one. But when
I look at wake Forest's schedule, Wes, where are the
alarm bells?

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Right?

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Kennesaw State getting that one point win against them, there's
an alarm bell? Uh oh, things are about to be
real bad after that. The loss to NC State isn't great,
but NC State was playing pretty well at the time,
and then they really start to turn things around as
the alarm bells. I guess my point is that a
lot of that was preconceived. A lot of it was

(08:52):
we didn't know about this team because everything was so new,
and so a lot of the bad reputation that they
had was based off of our preconceived notions coming in.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
I think they've gotten rid of a lot of that.
I feel good about Wake as well. I want to
double up with you. Yeah, well, let's double up. Let's
go on. Come.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
I don't know, man, I feel good about this Wait
team consistently.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Now.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
Yeah, the alarm bells are all based off of your
preconceived notion. And Kevin Jennings is going to give Wake
one interception.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
That is going on, so said, and they play into
the matchup Like I said, SMUs explosive pass defense because
they don't run it well.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
But Wake's past defense. People gonna find.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Out Saturday, hopefully that they are for real man number
one pass defense efficiency rating.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Break them all.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
I'm gonna save the graphic here.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
I'm not.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
I think.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
Look, I think this is a game that I mean,
Wake could even cover.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
In this game.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
I think it could be that close of.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
A final score where the teams are just battling down
to the end because I really do think wake Forest
is that good. But I think SMU they just got
a little something. This is a team that, as you said,
has not lost since they got to this, so they're
flying under the radar. They're going to be motivated it.
I feel like they're going to be motivated in this game.

(10:07):
I think Kevin Jennings does just enough so wake Forest
will be falling.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
But again it'll be another one of those close games.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
See this is another game. Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
Well, I was gonna say last thing because I don't
there's not a lot of analysis in my opinion for
the next two, to be honest with you, so analysis
meter come on. I'm just telling you, hey, see me
partying on Friday. That's about as much winning as Charlotte
is going to do. The thing about SMU, I don't
trust them as much because their wins are Syracuse without

(10:38):
Angelly Stanford, and I know Stanford's playing better, but they're better,
and Beneficial pushed.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Them in that game. It was just turnovers and penalties
that were really hurt down. And then it's Clemson, who
didn't even have Kate Clemnick. Even if they did have
Kate Clemnick, it's not like Clemson as a OI old machine.
Part of this is, yes, I do have belief in
wake Forest straight up, but also I have doubt in
SMU and that's why I go with Way. All Right,
here we go, folks. Moving on n c State at Pitt.
Pitt's a six and a half point favorite. They're riding

(11:05):
a three game winning streak and they've scored thirty or
more in each of those wins. Since they moved to
Mason Heinschel at quarterback. He's been balling out sixty eight
percent of his passes, seven eighty four through the air,
six touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Pitt.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Also, they're getting back to that defense that they have
under Pat Nardoozy that's disruptive, their first in the ACC
and tackles for lost second in sacks. That does not
bode well for NC State, a team that's been turning it.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Over a lot.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Even though NC State has won each of the last
three meetings between these two, and they're coming off of
a bye week as well, they'll close out the regular
season with five consecutive regular season I mean, excuse me,
five consecutive conference games. Nonetheless, though NC State struggled mightily
against Notre Dame, I don't know what they fixed. I
don't know what they didn't, but I'm gonna have NC

(11:52):
State to be falling to the pit Panthers, a team
I like a lot.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Yeah, NC State, so I could stop Pittsburgh. I think
they're gonna put up a lot of points on NCA State.
The defense is absolutely terrible and while I think NC
State has the propensity to put points on Pittsburgh just
hasn't been happening for them. I tried to believe in
him against Notre Dame. The second half happened. It was
real ugly. I do think that this is the coach.
You can't kill ball with Patnaroozy and Dave Dore and

(12:16):
still the.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Nine lives.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
They look at Cats with shame because they don't have
as many lives as they do with Dave Dori and
Pat nor Doozy. I think Pat Nordoozy wins the coach
you can't kill ball.

Speaker 5 (12:30):
Oh you got to give it to Pat Nordoozy too,
because he's at least done something that Dave Dorn's never
been able to do.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Make an ACC championship.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
And why yeah, I was very painful for me.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Uh yeah, I will. I will go with pitt as well.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
This this defense for NC State, man, I mean, Cheeks
doesn't even begin to describe.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
This defense is so bad, man.

Speaker 5 (12:51):
So I think Heinschew will settle into a rhythm early,
he'll be able to put up points. And I just
don't think NC State's going to be able to keep up.
So I'll go with Pitt as well.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
All right, we're gonna take a break right away out
let's do. Come on what you got to say? I mean,
some of this stuff. I know it's gonna be hard
for you to hear when I tell you that North Texas,
who's a twenty six and a half point favorite. They
own the nation's top scoring offense at forty five a game.

(13:22):
They force an FBS best seventeen takeaways, and Charlotte has
the one hundred and twenty eighth ranked scoring offense and
one hundred and twenty seventh ranks scoring defense. Two of
the last three conference opponents have put up forty nine
plus on the forty nine ers, which exhibit a third
to last FBS ranking in stopping to run. I just

(13:43):
didn't want to just get it over with, all right, man.
So we're looking at cover balling here, and I don't
even think we're gonna get that. If you want to
put a little scriller down on somebody to cover, I
think North Texas just might be a safe bet.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Clown me, Charlotte, clown me. I don't think y'all are
going to cover clown wrong. Put it on the graphic
say walk or mail our own alum. Didn't even believe
in us to cover. Use anything as you as you can,
use anything you can as motivation. This can be your
motivation because I just I want to believe, but I can't.

(14:17):
I don't think Charlotte is going to ball. Therefore, I
think they're gonna fall.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
Man PLoud did just say we're going we're going clean
sweep here. North Texas puts up fifty plus in this one.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Oh god, hey listen now, man, I hate I hated
to read that. When I was putting it into my
little notes, I said, God, man walking, I want to
hear this.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
I really liked him, Alvin. I gotta say that. I
love Tim Alvin. I think he's a great coach. I
love Charlotte.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Yeah, smoke some port, Tim, and have you a drink, man,
because I believe in you.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
You're gonna need to wait till should he do it
before after the.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Guy, I say, after the game, just go ahead and
sell your wife, go ahead and put it on, season
it up, let us sit and then go ahead and
smoke it after the game.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
I believe in you dot dot dot long term. I
believe that letter days a here
