Tim Albyn. You're right, those first two games are gonna
be difficult, especially with North Carolina. I hope they beat Monmouth.

three starters are back on offense. They have switched though
to an option attack. Only Army and Navy run that
same style of offense, and four starters return on defense. Now,
this could be a little bit of a tricky game
for Charlotte as well, even though they went four and
eight last year. I know from experience we played the

play against the option, you need a little bit of
time to prepare, and they're not gonna have a lot
of it.

To do that, you have to be very disciplined. Word

Disciplined when you play against the option, okay, because one
false move and you're gonna be looking at the back

give Charlotte the benefit of the doubt. I think coach
Alvin can coach them up. We know that they had
a big time defense last year at Ohio. Well that
transfer we don't know.

But I'm going to give them the benefit of the
doubt and say that they will be able to be
disciplined enough to get the stops that they need to
take care of Rice.

I like some of the ride ups here about the
offense that you'll have with the Owls. It's one of
the ride ups on ESPN is what you have in
Scott Abel running the offense, a shotgun spread option that
looks absolutely almost nothing like what you usually see at
the FBS level. It's so different, and so you are
going to have your work cut out for you in
preparing for something like that. The good news is Rice

is just going through so much new right now and
sense that's right. And I think early on, if both
of these coaches are going to be good, I think
you have high hopes for both of these guys. I
do think with I think we have some talent with
Charlotte on the defensive side. We've talked about it, especially
at the linebacking corps, and I think you have some
talent on the back end. It's the defensive line that's

gonna be the real wild card. I think Charlotte ends
up getting the victory here too, So I have them
losing to North Carolina, but then answering that loss with
a couple of victories both at home.

It's gonna take Rice some time, I think to get
used to the system that they're running, too. I don't
think it's gonna be nearly as flawless as you see
when you play.

because they're at home. I think their defense does enough
gets to win all right.

absolutely dominated them last night. They beat them. Quarterback Byron Brown,

plus yards of total offense, two rushing scores. They helped
Boise State to four point four yards per play and
six of seventeen on third down. I say that to say, uh,
if South Florida is gonna continue through the rest of
the season playing like this, maybe they not beaten top
twenty five teams every single week, but they are a

rock solid bowl team that's gonna be a pest for
a lot of teams because they have to play the
Kinges as well. Give me South Florida to take the
victory over to Charlotte forty nine ers.

Of course, in Alvins first year, we're gonna have to
have South Florida get their first season with over seven
victories since twenty seventeen. It looks like that's kind of
the program we're looking at, because if you look at
their win totals from twenty eighteen on, it was seven
four one two one. They were real bad for a
very long time, and they've answered with two seven and

six seasons. Looks like they're poised to be better than
that with that kind of romping they just put on
Boise State. Look, this is gonna be on the road too.
You had your two victories against Monmouth and Rice. I
think this one's probably gonna be an l and tim
albns first true road game that you're gonna experience this season.

You saw how it was for Boise State to go
there last night. It's gonna be even tougher. I think
to go there by mid season because I think they're
gonna be in a pretty good form by that point.
Byron Brown, one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the
entire country. I think Charlotte goes in there, puts up
a fight, But I do think that South Florida gets
a pretty significant win.

Well, especially you mentioned the crowd Friday night game ESPN. Two.

People are gonna be ready, even if it's only quote
unquote Charlotte. It's not gonna be Boise State, but crowd's

All right. Next up, man, the tough ones keep on
coming because then you are at army. You can salute,
you can do whatever you need to do, but you're
going up against some dogs. Okay, twelve and two last season,
nine starters of back Brice and Daily. The legend is gone,
but Dwayne Coleman is the new quarterback for them. They
had the nation's best offensive line. They won the Joe

Moore Award last year, but they did lose three guys
off of that. They held opponents to fifteen and a
half points per game last year and ninety six yards
below they're average a season ago. They've got five guys
back off of that defense. Army is legit, no joke,
and I think that they take care of business against
the Charlotte forty nine ers. As soon as my man

Chris Reynolds is getting ready walking in, he's good and early.
That's a quarterback right there. Okay, that's the leader early,
first guy in last kind of leave. He probably won't
like what we're saying. But I got Army beating down
to Charlotte. Oh no, don't.

they play real defense. There is some new with him too,

did think that was gonna happen because of some of

this is gonna be a second road game in a
row for Charlotte, and Army's gonna be playing at home.

Yeah, I just I love Jeff Bunkin so much. What
he's done at Army to turn them in to a
consistent winner is amazing. I think that even though they
are losing as much as they do on the offensive line,
and they lose their starting quarterback, who is a legend,
I still think they're gonna be good enough by that
time to beat Charlotte maybe it's a little bit closer
than some people think, but yeah, give me army, all right.

Next up, October eighteenth versus Temple. Now, Temple was three
and nine last year. They got a veteran offense, seven
starters return. They have a new offensive coordinator in Montana
State's Tyler Walker, and they also have a new defensive coordinator,
which kind of happens when you go three and nine.
New defensive coordinator and former Rice DC Bryan Smith. They've

only got three starters back over there. I think Charlotte
will kind of get things back together and they get
a victory and take down Temple. Yeah, I agree with you.

I mean the two games in conference that you're hoping
they take care of because Charlotte has.

I don't think they will based on how Vegas is

and Temple are the two games in conference that you

have to take care of business against Temple. This one
is going to be a home game. I think that
does matter because if you start to be competitive. We
saw last year, Charlotte fans are gonna show up. Give

talking about them playing East Carolina. I just that program.

able to win there. I just don't feel like they

a knocking. They were six and seven last year. Reyes
Poppenbarger comes over from Albany at quarterback to help. He
had a pretty productive career there. The run games should
be better. Skyle Cassidy is at defensive coordinator and he
brings seven guys over from Sam Houston to go with

nine returning starters from a defense that gave up thirty
four points per game. So not a lot of resistance
you're gonna get from North Texas. I'm gonna get a
forty nine is the benefit of the doubt. I think
that they will take out North Texas at home and
get on a little bit of a streak.

Texas San Antonio, they've been a little consistent when you

So I think that they take care of the Charlotte
forty nine. Yeah, I mean, so this is the stretch
for Charlotte, like this is brutal. You look at the
last three games, just to give you a preview of
what's going to happen. We have San Antonio, we have Georgia,
and we have Tulane. That's who the last one.

Boy, I can't wait to see how we're divided a
table divided, I mean too lane to at the end.

Texas San Antonio is going to be too good this year.

picked to finish first, Memphis second, who is not on

They lost Darien Mensa start running back Mikay Hughes and

their top five receivers, uh three starters are back on defense,
and they added eight transfers in what was one of
the the aac's best defensive units. This is gonna be
another tough one, especially coming off a physical week against Georgie.
I'm sure Georgia will take that pound of flesh from
the rost. That guy's gonna be a little beat up.
And I think tou Lane continues that Charlotte ens. What

a four game losing streak from me, man, it's tough.

I got him on a losing streak as well, except
it's just a three game losing streak with that victory
against ECU that I have. But yeah, two Lane, I mean,
they've just done so well through the transfer portal, you know,
replacing some of the talented guys that they did lose
through the portal as well, so I do think two
Lane's gonna end up with a victory two games on
the road for Charlotte as well to finish the season
three game losing streak for me, including two Lane.

Jake Retzlaw from BYU.

Tim Albyn. You're right, those first two games are gonna
be difficult, especially with North Carolina. I hope they beat Monmouth.

September eighteenth versus Rice. Rice was four and eight last year,
three starters are back on offense. They have switched though
to an option attack. Only Army and Navy run that
same style of offense, and four starters return on defense. Now,
this could be a little bit of a tricky game
for Charlotte as well, even though they went four and
eight last year. I know from experience we played the

Service academies when I was at wake Forest. When you
play against the option, you need a little bit of
time to prepare, and they're not gonna have a lot
of it.

To do that, you have to be very disciplined. Word
to my man, Elma Food, you have to be veil

Disciplined when you play against the option, okay, because one
false move and you're gonna be looking at the back
of somebody's jersey. With all that sid I'm going to
give Charlotte the benefit of the doubt. I think coach
Alvin can coach them up. We know that they had
a big time defense last year at Ohio. Well that
transfer we don't know.

But I'm going to give them the benefit of the
doubt and say that they will be able to be
disciplined enough to get the stops that they need to
take care of Rice.

I like some of the ride ups here about the
offense that you'll have with the Owls. It's one of
the ride ups on ESPN is what you have in
Scott Abel running the offense, a shotgun spread option that
looks absolutely almost nothing like what you usually see at
the FBS level. It's so different, and so you are
going to have your work cut out for you in
preparing for something like that. The good news is Rice

is just going through so much new right now and
sense that's right. And I think early on, if both
of these coaches are going to be good, I think
you have high hopes for both of these guys. I
do think with I think we have some talent with
Charlotte on the defensive side. We've talked about it, especially
at the linebacking corps, and I think you have some
talent on the back end. It's the defensive line that's

gonna be the real wild card. I think Charlotte ends
up getting the victory here too, So I have them
losing to North Carolina, but then answering that loss with
a couple of victories both at home.

By the way Monmouth and Rice.

It's gonna take Rice some time, I think to get
used to the system that they're running, too. I don't
think it's gonna be nearly as flawless as you see
when you play.

So I think Charlotte ends up getting the win, especially
because they're at home. I think their defense does enough
gets to win all right.

Next up they have South Florida. Okay, oh boy, and
we saw last night them put the beats. They put
foots on Boise State, a college football playoff squad. They
absolutely dominated them last night. They beat them. Quarterback Byron Brown,

he looked like a star after two hundred and fifty
plus yards of total offense, two rushing scores. They helped
Boise State to four point four yards per play and
six of seventeen on third down. I say that to say, uh,
if South Florida is gonna continue through the rest of
the season playing like this, maybe they not beaten top
twenty five teams every single week, but they are a

rock solid bowl team that's gonna be a pest for
a lot of teams because they have to play the
Kinges as well. Give me South Florida to take the
victory over to Charlotte forty nine ers.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
Of course, in Alvins first year, we're gonna have to
have South Florida get their first season with over seven
victories since twenty seventeen. It looks like that's kind of
the program we're looking at, because if you look at
their win totals from twenty eighteen on, it was seven
four one two one. They were real bad for a
very long time, and they've answered with two seven and

six seasons. Looks like they're poised to be better than
that with that kind of romping they just put on
Boise State. Look, this is gonna be on the road too.
You had your two victories against Monmouth and Rice. I
think this one's probably gonna be an l and tim
albns first true road game that you're gonna experience this season.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
You saw how it was for Boise State to go
there last night. It's gonna be even tougher. I think
to go there by mid season because I think they're
gonna be in a pretty good form by that point.
Byron Brown, one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the
entire country. I think Charlotte goes in there, puts up
a fight, But I do think that South Florida gets
a pretty significant win.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Well, especially you mentioned the crowd Friday night game ESPN. Two.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
People are gonna be ready, even if it's only quote
unquote Charlotte. It's not gonna be Boise State, but crowd's
gonna be ready to cheer.

All right. Next up, man, the tough ones keep on
coming because then you are at army. You can salute,
you can do whatever you need to do, but you're
going up against some dogs. Okay, twelve and two last season,
nine starters of back Brice and Daily. The legend is gone,
but Dwayne Coleman is the new quarterback for them. They
had the nation's best offensive line. They won the Joe

Moore Award last year, but they did lose three guys
off of that. They held opponents to fifteen and a
half points per game last year and ninety six yards
below they're average a season ago. They've got five guys
back off of that defense. Army is legit, no joke,
and I think that they take care of business against
the Charlotte forty nine ers. As soon as my man

Chris Reynolds is getting ready walking in, he's good and early.
That's a quarterback right there. Okay, that's the leader early,
first guy in last kind of leave. He probably won't
like what we're saying. But I got Army beating down
to Charlotte. Oh no, don't.

Why'd you say beat down? I mean Army, you know, man,
they play real defense. There is some new with him too,
There is some new.

I think they've earned the benefit of the doubt. Ye
like Army I did have when we were going through
ECU Team week. I did have ECU upsetting Army. I
did think that was gonna happen because of some of
the new that they got going on. I don't think
Charlotte right now, even at that point the season. Remember,
this is gonna be a second road game in a
row for Charlotte, and Army's gonna be playing at home.

I've got the Knights winning.

Yeah, I just I love Jeff Bunkin so much. What
he's done at Army to turn them in to a
consistent winner is amazing. I think that even though they
are losing as much as they do on the offensive line,
and they lose their starting quarterback, who is a legend,
I still think they're gonna be good enough by that
time to beat Charlotte maybe it's a little bit closer
than some people think, but yeah, give me army, all right.

Next up, October eighteenth versus Temple. Now, Temple was three
and nine last year. They got a veteran offense, seven
starters return. They have a new offensive coordinator in Montana
State's Tyler Walker, and they also have a new defensive coordinator,
which kind of happens when you go three and nine.
New defensive coordinator and former Rice DC Bryan Smith. They've

only got three starters back over there. I think Charlotte
will kind of get things back together and they get
a victory and take down Temple. Yeah, I agree with you.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
I mean the two games in conference that you're hoping
they take care of because Charlotte has.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
A shot to be the favorite.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
I don't think they will based on how Vegas is
gonna evaluate this, but Temple and Rice are the two
games here. Not speaking to mon Myth, I think Rice
and Temple are the two games in conference that you
have a shot there. So I do think that you
have to take care of business against Temple. This one
is going to be a home game. I think that
does matter because if you start to be competitive. We
saw last year, Charlotte fans are gonna show up. Give

Yeah, wasn't a big fan of Temple when we were
talking about them playing East Carolina. I just that program.
You know, you gotta have a special coach to be
able to win there. I just don't feel like they
do right now. At home, Charlotte gets a victim.

All right, there you go. Next up North Texas comes
a knocking. They were six and seven last year. Reyes
Poppenbarger comes over from Albany at quarterback to help. He
had a pretty productive career there. The run games should
be better. Skyle Cassidy is at defensive coordinator and he
brings seven guys over from Sam Houston to go with

nine returning starters from a defense that gave up thirty
four points per game. So not a lot of resistance
you're gonna get from North Texas. I'm gonna get a
forty nine is the benefit of the doubt. I think
that they will take out North Texas at home and
get on a little bit of a streak.

Now I feel bad, Well, consecutive wins. Can can I
have them losing a game that you don't because now.

God it's gonna get it's gonna get work.

I mean, this was a ball game last year, so

In I think they're gonna win this game too. I
think at home, this is what this is where Alvin

versus NC State last night. They only rushed for thirty yards,

do think that East Carolina this will be a very
interesting game because it's Flounder said, I feel like that

Tim Alban at this point will start to have settled in.
Maybe they have the quarterback situation figured out. Regardless of
the fact, I think East Carolina is strong enough to
take out Charlotte. I'm not having Charlotte lose to easy, Okay.

need to see you get the victory over Charlotte before

I hand over a victory to the Pirates. Plus, you
know that that's the team I probably hate the most
in terms of Charlotte rival I think I.

Went with ECU when we were going through their schedule prediction.
I think I'm gonna stick with that because I just
love the way that Howser looked last night. I think
he's the real deal at quarterback. I think he's gonna
be able to carry.

I think they're gonna put up points in this game,
and by this time of the year, I think they're
gonna be one of the better offenses in the American
I think it's close. I think Charlotte, of course, because
the rivalry is gonna make it close. Alvin will have

Edges them out all right. November eighth, excuse me, November fifteenth,
they will take on Texas San Antonio the road run
meet me. Okay, you guys are a couple of very

Class I do get some good chuckles out of them,
all right. So tex San Antonio last year finished seven

and six eight guns back on offense, they did average
thirty three and they took care of football pretty good.
They will plus one and turnover ratio. But the defense
did give up thirty points per game and only two
starters are back. They lost the bulk of their front seven. However,
Texas San Antonio, they've been a little consistent when you
talk about in the conference, They're one of the teams

that's always in the mix.

So I think that they take care of the Charlotte
forty nine. Yeah, I mean, so this is the stretch
for Charlotte, like this is brutal. You look at the
last three games, just to give you a preview of
what's going to happen. We have San Antonio, we have Georgia,
and we have Tulane. That's who the last one.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Boy, I can't wait to see how we're divided a
table divided, I mean too lane to at the end.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
But yeah, I hear what you're saying there. I think
Texas San Antonio is going to be too good this year.
You're talking about a team that is finished, that is
picked to finish top three in the conference. Tulane is
picked to finish first, Memphis second, who is not on
Charlotte schedule. But I think tex San Antonio is gonna
be too good.

Yeah, I think they'll be a little too good as well.

Four starting offensive lineman, four draft choices off of that defense,
but six are back for them, and they gave up
twenty one a game last year.

I mean, it's the Georgia Bulldogs. They have puppies that
are sitting there waiting and they're eating the you know,
whatever type of food is they eating the good stuff
that we see on those commercials that have cost you
probably about sixty seventy dollars a bag. Georgia Bulldogs real

Yeah, I'm hoping we can create some history down there.
I know a bunch of people, a bunch of Niners
fans that are gonna make that trip down to Athens
just in case something crazy happens.

I would lose my mind. Oh I got Georgia. I

We have seen them slow play some games out of
the gate when they play this game, but I I mean,
I don't know what is it gonna be like third quarter?

I think that defense is gonna dominate Charlotte up front.

I can't Charlotte Georgians a lineman man two seventy. That's
lighting the Keista. Buddy, you know it's gonna be you
gonna be having a handle some three thirty three forty fives,
you know what I'm saying. That's gonna be a lot
to deal with. And they closed the season at Tulane,
so they got a couple of tough road matchups to
close the year. Tulane is expected to be an AAC contender.
They lost Darien Mensa start running back Mikay Hughes and

their top five receivers, uh three starters are back on defense,
and they added eight transfers in what was one of
the the aac's best defensive units. This is gonna be
another tough one, especially coming off a physical week against Georgie.
I'm sure Georgia will take that pound of flesh from
the rost. That guy's gonna be a little beat up.
And I think tou Lane continues that Charlotte ens. What
(20:14):
a four game losing streak from me, man, it's tough.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
I got him on a losing streak as well, except
it's just a three game losing streak with that victory
against ECU that I have. But yeah, two Lane, I mean,
they've just done so well through the transfer portal, you know,
replacing some of the talented guys that they did lose
through the portal as well, so I do think two
Lane's gonna end up with a victory two games on
the road for Charlotte as well to finish the season
three game losing streak for me, including two Lane.

What's interesting about this team is they did bring in
Jake Retzlaw from BYU.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
He I believe it's just a guy that's walking on there.
Problem is is he might not be.

The starting quarterbacks, so that's gonna be really interesting. Now
by this point in the season, I believe he probably
will be the starter. They'll be competing to win the AAC.
So the fact that it's on the road, I think
two Lane probably gets it done and then probably pretty convincing,
