Speaker 1 (00:08):
Only on Sports Radio ninety two point seven half m
job ufn C.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Fine, He's the Weson Walker Show. Even a crowd nos
what's coming there.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
It's one of those shows. I'm disorganized. Lots of things
are happening live. I'm trying to bring all of the
details to you. The good people of Charlotte, North Carolina,
the good people that like to listen to Wes and
Walker every single weekday from twelve to three. Got a
hell of a show for you because we were both
out me and flound Dog at Brown's Panthers joint practice today.
I had to leave early. Flounders stayed out there a

(00:44):
little bit later. Didn't catch the whole thing, but caught
like ninety percent of it. So we have all the
updates for you, and all the updates that I don't
have live for you because I didn't get to see
it with my own eyes.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yo, we have.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
The tweets were to Arby's kind of Joe person, Mike
k a Gay MacDonald, Vashti heard Alex Zeitlo, Julian Counsel
out there, everybody, everybody in attendance that are your favorite
Panthers beat reporters, Everybody in attendance, and there is a
decent amount to discuss on Wes and Walker Sports Radio
ninety two to seven WFNZ. We have an unofficial depth

(01:17):
chart that Flounder is just rip roaring and ready to
discuss big time. You're you're very angry. You were angry
about it with your tweet yesterday. As soon as that
was released, you said, oh buddy, I've got a lot
of thoughts on this. I'm gonna save it for Wes
and Walker. That's a hell of a team to have
the tease from my guy in the co captain's chair
not only today, but he has been in the co

(01:38):
captain's chair every single day this week. Wes will be
back with us next Monday or this upcoming Monday. I
should say, all right, well, look we have a warcry
Wednesday to get to as well. We can't do anything
before we war cry. Last time that Wes wasn't with
us on a Wednesday, Not gonna lie chickened out a
little bit. We were out at acc kickoff. There are

(01:58):
lots of people within our close proximity and I didn't
want to scare anybody, and I got a little butt tight.
I gotta admit I'm sorry about that. For the people
that come here on Wednesdays for a war cry to
let out all that pent up energy, They're not coming
here for butt tight.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
No they're not.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
And I gave that to you, and I apologize. So
I'm going to give you a war cry. So its
flounder and flounder. You got called out by Wes last
week for being a little weak with it. Am I
correct on that or is that two weeks ago?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
It's pretty much every week. But yeah, I think no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
you don't really bring it. But you know, this is
the time of the year where I'm happy, man, I
don't have a lot to scream about.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Although the Mets are kind of playing bads and.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Your boy Corey Thornton is a fourth stringer, which has
you you don't want wrong with you. Look, if you
take this thing seriously, then maybe that's something you would
to yell about as well. I'm ready to see that
text from coach Polly do it a little something on
a Wednesday, as he likes to do. I'm ready to
see all my text from NASCAR. Brad happy hump daty
you Brian three Keys, two Kings. However, many kings there are.

(03:02):
What's good to you, fellow king, and then average bear
also riding in. We appreciate everybody listening to us on
ninety two to seven FM. Let's not wait anymore. Like
you guys know the drill by now warcry Wednesday. If
you're outside in the rain, if you're at your cubicle,
don't check it out like I did a couple of
weeks ago. Go ahead and let that energy out, and
then let's get off of the bus. One two three. Oh,

(03:33):
that was a good one.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Okay, go ahead and open up the doors. Let's get
off the bus. That was good.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Look, oftentimes the radio host in any city, they're not
considered extremely professional, and I don't think we can be
considered that either, especially with a war cry. But I
do imagine I don't think any of the reporters slash
riders are in their car driving home quite yet, because

(03:59):
there's gonna be people that speak over there at Bank
of America. Yes, but I do envision Joe Person, all
of these outstanding, upmost professional types of writers listening to
ninety two seven FM Sports Radio, and then we give
them that and then they just shake their head Andy,
I hope hopefully they're not turning the channel.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Did they shake their heads at us when we were
out there?

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Anyways?

Speaker 3 (04:19):
They're like we got asked by Nick Carboni if it
was a family picnic.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
And we were all out.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
I mean, everybody was out there that is working this week,
That's right, I really do they except for Coslin and
because they have to be here, Yeah, but they have
to be here, they have to be on air. So
everybody that had the possibility of being out there and
who is working this week, everybody in attendance smoke. He
was just hanging out by himself over there at the.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Shop was locked in. Man, he was locked in on
the hog. Molly's going after it.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Okay, let's talk about the news that began the day,
just real quickly. Not great news. Adam Schefter. Right before
they started joint practice, Adam Schefter tweeted out that Panthers
cornerback J. C. Horn was in in a car accident
on his way to work. He did not practice today.
Adam also clarified right after that that he was not

(05:08):
thought to have had any sustained significant injuries. He was
on the field actually as an observer. So then you
got to see Sheena quick. Everybody tweeting out that j C.
Horn was on the field just as an observer. Actually,
Carolina Blitz, Vashi Hurt, who will be in studio with
us for three hours tomorrow, Vashti Hurt gonna be awesome,
awesome stuff. Excited to have her in. You can follow

(05:31):
her on a couple of different handles, but make sure
you follow Carolina Blitz at Keith Blitzen. She said, just
ran into JC asking him if he's okay. JC smiled
and said he's good, quote unquote, just a little mishap.
She put out a video of j C. Horn riding
on the golf cart as well. So just to clear
everything up, j C. Horn got in a car accident

(05:52):
on his way to practice. But everything is fine, no hospitalizations.
He was actually out there pretty damn quickly as an observer.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Thank god. Everything's okay with jac Horn.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah, no, I mean it's starting to get scary the
amount of car accidents that we seem to have to
talk about with this team. But yeah, apparently just a minor,
you know, fender bender or whatever.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
So you know, j C.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
That's good to hear that he's going to be back
out there. Hopefully soon. I think today you know they
were you're a little shaken up everything like that, you
get to practice a little late. I think it's understandable
why he wasn't out there, but that probably is part
of the reason why the Panthers gave up some big
plays down the field on field number two. We were
watching field one, where the offense was at, but apparently

(06:35):
over on field number two there were a couple of
big plays that were given up. With JC out there, right,
doesn't end up happening.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
And certainly not with a guy like Jerry Judy if
he's in co Although Mike Jackson had some good reps
against Jerry Judy and some good reps overall. Today there
was the big play to Judy that you're referencing. We'll
get into that in just a moment. Jac Horn actually
tweeted out himself, by the way, at j C. Horn
underscore ten, I'm straight none major, Thank God, great to
hear it, love to hear that he was okay. And

(07:02):
last thing, we actually just tweeted out ourselves on Twitter
at WFNZ. Not me clearly, but somebody else is tweeting
out over here at the station. Like it says thirty
seconds ago, so not too far ago at all. Jac
Horn car accident. Looking at some of the details. He
was evaluated by team medical staff following the incident, sitting

(07:23):
out as precaution. I saw somebody tweet that there was
a report where he had to cut on his hand,
it required stitches and is out this week versus Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
I'm not sure that's true. Let me clarify that.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Just know I'm looking for it, but I have not
confirmed that, So I'll keep you updated as soon as
we find some more updates.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
We were told hands don't get injured in car recks yesterday.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Though that is true, it's all a conspiracy. Maybe JC
was always going to sit out this entire time. No,
I'll go ahead and confirm that and let everybody know
if that truly is the case. Okay, big takeaways, we
were both out there. I was out there for I
think two sessions, three sessions of seven on seven. I
did not get to see eleven on eleven in my

(08:07):
area of where I was standing, and then I left,
and then Flounder was there for the most part. I'll
give you my takeaways. One, I thought Bryce Young was
actually good today. I know that there's been a little
bit of mixed reporting.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Maybe you and I.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Actually I thought he was solid. I didn't think he
was great, but I didn't think he was bad either.
He didn't throw any interceptible passes, just a couple of
misreads I think from him, maybe a miscommunication or two,
but overall, pretty good.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Day for him.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Joe Person tweets out at Joseph Person a good day
for Bryce. He thought it was good, but I did
see some other people that thought there was some good
some bad throws. David Newton also tweeting out that there
were some good throws, there was a bad throws.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Andy Dalton had a rough day. I saw a couple
of passes that were intercepted.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
So if we just if we organize this and we
go down the list of what I think people care
about the most, it's Bryce, it's Temac, it's defense overall,
it's with the draft picks. If we start with Bryce,
I think he looked good. I thought it's funny to
be there in person, just to truly understand how crazy
these guys are at what they do, just the leading

(09:11):
throws from Bryce, where it looks routine on your television screen.
To be there in person, and to have a guy
like Jalen Coker, who caught I believe, the first touchdown
pass of seven on sevens today. It was just a
beautifully placed ball and it's routine. Coker was open, it
was still a good throw. Both things can be true.
It was at the back end of the end zone,
and I'm right there where Bryce is throwing, along with

(09:34):
plenty of other people covering the team, and you just
are in amazement. It's like going to shoot around before
a basketball game college or NBA, and these guys don't
have any hands in their face. They're not getting guarded,
so it's all fine. But they just rattle off fifty
consecutive made three pointers in a row. Just anyways. Being
there in person, it's it's amazing. I'm reminded every time,

(09:56):
and I hope I never become I hope I never
become callous to that fact that these guys truly are
insane at what they do. But I thought Bryce Young
was good. You thought he was just solid today?

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Yeah, I think, and that's fine.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
I think there were just a couple of plays where
it seemed like a misthrow from him, But again, we
don't know what the exact play call was. We don't
know if there was a miscommunication where there was a
route that was supposed to be run to a certain
area and doesn't get run to that area. That's what's
tough about evaluating this kind of stuff, But this is
ultimately what we have to do. I thought he made

(10:32):
a couple of throws to Team Act that were really good,
though he had one in the back of the end zone,
I mean, just a bullet in the back of the
end zone and tam Mac wasn't really expecting the ball
to come his way ends up sort of dropping it.
I think they counted that as a drop. Then he
had another nice ball that he threw to him in
the left corner of the end zone that Team Act
just couldn't come up with. So again, I think the

(10:52):
most important thing from him was that you didn't see
any passes that you thought, Okay, that's gonna get intercepted
or was intercepted. He was doing a good job of
keeping the ball out of harm's way, but there were
a couple of throws that just looked a little bit off,
And during eleven on eleven's it may have been because
he couldn't get his footing right or whatever. I thought
the offensive line still played pretty well in pass protection.

(11:14):
I thought they were not great in run blocking situations,
but overall solid to.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Good day, it's in that range for Bryce Ye.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Thanks to everybody, by the way for sending in pictures
of tweets and updates on the FanDuel text line. That helped.
And so yes, we can confirm now. Nate Wimberley had
this tweet. Dave Canalis actually confirmed in his press conference
that j C. Horn did cut his left hand in
the car accident. He did have to get stitches. He's
out this week versus Cleveland, so he will not suit

(11:45):
up this weekend versus the Browns in this first preseason game.
That is important because Dave Canas told us the starters
would play a series or two. Maybe he was just
focusing on offense, but I don't think he provided that qualification.
It was starters will play a series or two in
the first two weeks of preseason. J C. Horr no
longer a part of that because he had a cut

(12:06):
on his left hand, had to get stitches. He will
be out. So there's the confirmation. T Mac Let's go there.
Joe Person says Tedoroa McMillan had an up and down day.
You mentioned the drop feels like a football ate him up.
This is where you got to see this live. I'm
just basically going off of tweets that everybody had, but
so a mix of what I got to see live

(12:27):
and some of the reports on t MAC. Watching t
MAC run his routes, I thought he looked good in
my opinion. There was a seven on sevens t MAC
beat his guy on the outside. Bryce Young looked to
find him in the end zone through it and t
MAC just got dragged like the defensive back in coverage

(12:49):
had a handful of jersey and slowed him up and
it was blatant obvious defensive pass interference and they called it.
So I thought that was a good rep by t
MAC though, Like that's a big time gain for Carolina
whether he can it or not, and it was all
made because t MAC had a good route beat his guy.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
There was the drop you mentioned.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
There was the one catch the intended pass for t
MAC that he tried to haul in with one hand,
couldn't quite bring it in. There was another touchdown reception
that he had on a slant route that was in
tight coverage where Bryce s Young found him over the
middle of the field, and so up and down day
for t Mac. I can't help but think, and we
can talk about this a little bit more so on
the other side, Flounder, they're throwing to him a lot.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
They're throwing to him a lot. It feels like it.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
It feels like he is pretty much the primary target
and they're wanting to get him as many looks as possible.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
The question for me becomes, are they throwing to him
a lot because he is the newest wide receiver you
expect to be a part of the rotation on the
team and so you're trying to give him as many
looks as possible, Or are you looking to him a
lot because that's how it's going to look in the
regular season. That's the question. Is t Mac getting targeted
all this time, all this many times because you want

(14:00):
to get him up to speed as fast as you
can because he's a rookie, or it's because this is
how it's gonna look once we hit the regular season
football field.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
That's the question for me.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
But I still come away with thinking mostly thumbs up
on what t mac has done.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Yeah, I don't think he's been bad. I think he's
been you know, as advertised. I think in certain areas.
I think, you know, in terms of bringing down those
jump balls and stuff like that. That was where he
tried to do the one tried to one hand one. Yeah,
you'd like to see him come down with those types
of play, the same thing with that one in the
back of the end zone. That kind of ate him
up a little bit because those are the areas where

(14:33):
you're expecting him to shine. But I thought he did
a really good job on that slant route that you mentioned,
and I thought had a couple other catches on the
day that were really nice. So overall, again I would
I would say for him, you know, lower end of
the solid, but still a solid enough day. Doesn't doesn't
really show you anything that you should be overly concerned about.

(14:54):
Didn't see a lot of the corners jamming him. I
wasn't necessarily focused on that, obviously focused on Bran.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Like that, So I was looking at t Mac quite
a bit off the line of scrimmage and I didn't
notice anything. Again, it's seven on sevens, which they're playing
physical football and seven on sevens, but clearly it's not
how you usually play a football game. But I didn't
se him get jammed at the line of scrimmage all
that much either. I don't know if that's just the
Browns playing their typical defense. There's not the scouting report

(15:21):
so much on Temac at this point, but I didn't
notice that nearly as much. Let's take a quick break,
let's come back. I mean, guys, we have a lot
to consolidate here. So I see all of your text messages.
Keep them coming, man, I'm going to try to organize
all of them, answer as many questions on the Fandle
text line that I can on the other side, and
then we can discuss this first unofficial depth chart the

(15:43):
Panthers released yesterday.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
I have it in hand.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
They were handing out all day today at Panthers training camp.
So we'll go over that as well on the West
and Walker show Flound Dog Filling In Sports Radio ninety
two seven WFNZ, Talking Panthers Brown's joined practice on Wes

(16:14):
and Walker Sports Radio ninety two seven WFNZ. Lot of
people writing in on the FanDuel text line. We'll get
to those texts in just a moment. First, I got
to remind you we're broadcasting live from the Chandler Vaulta Studios.
CV Injurylaw dot Com, CEV Injury Law dot Com. One call,
that's all, Maybe the Carolina's personal injury Lawyer seven oh
four five, seven oh ninety six. Ten people writing in

(16:36):
their thoughts and observations from camp. Speaking of thoughts and observations,
we did have some onseen live reporting from our very
own D two Kicker, who was only live on the
scene for nineteen seconds. If you look at this video,
it was a drive by report, which one I can't condone.
I kind of want to condone it. I did love

(16:59):
the video, he said, live by reporting, a drive by,
live drive by reporting.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
It looks like there was a field goal kicked as
he was driving by. He said it was good, he thinks,
which is just the best kind of reporting that we
could ask for here on Western Walker. Again, I do
not condone trying to drive on these streets while also
videoing with the type of accuracy into which D two
Kicker was videoing.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
At the same time, I do appreciate his help.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Yeah, I mean, we need a guy that can evaluate
the kicking game, because I gotta be honest with you.
We watched matthew Wright kick right in front of us.
I have no idea how many he made, couldn't tell you.
Five of five apparently, yeah, so apparently a great day
for him. He did not look good in the kickoffs,
but I don't know if they were attempting to try
to get the Browns to return most of the kicks

(17:48):
so they could test the special teams.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
But I think overall, not a bad day.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Yeah, if you're five of five, then it's pretty solid. Now,
this was not hashtag skinny post season. It was just
the regular dimensions of your classic upright.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
I think I think Dave put in a request and said,
do you see our kickers? We need the regular post
out here today. But the Browns were kicking on the
skinny post.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
It had been a while since we've seen matthew Wright kick.
It had been all Ryan Fitzgerald. If you look at
the first unofficial depth chart released, matthew Wright is first
string kicker and probably should be and should be. Ryan
Fitzgerald is second string kicker. So right, going in five
of five and any bad days Right has had, I
don't remember any thing less than three of five, even

(18:35):
on the skinny post.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
So yeah, so I think he's been pretty solid. He's
been the guy.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
If you're just gonna go with who has had the
best performance, I don't really know how you can try
to spin it to say that Ryan Fitzgerald has been better.
If you want to say we want to keep him
because he's younger, Okay, if you believe in him, fine,
like I could get that spin zone. I don't think
you can spin this to say he's been better than
Matthew Wright, even if we haven't seen a whole lot
form right, other people writing in Fandal text line seven

(19:02):
oh four five seven oh ninety six' ten beer man In,
belmont lots of other people asking Was fitty out on
the roads and did he run into our top corner
going into this?

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Year you, know WHEN i saw that he had been
in a car, accident my first thought was where was this?
At and then they apparently said Min, street AND i, said, oh.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
It was right out.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
Right it was right outside the. Stadium it was not
raining at that. Time clearly it had been raining a
lot the whole TIME i was out there by the,
way not really one. Drop it was wet cloud cover
all over the. Place BUT i didn't See fiddy AND
i saw that tweet come in From Adam schefter AND
i started to put two and two, together not gonna,
lie just as many of our listeners have.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Already what did you think About fiddy's outfit? Today he
showed up looking like a. Cowboy he looked so much
Like Kataba. COUNTY I i don't know why he chose
to do. This he had the black polo shirt with
the jeans and some dress up that look kind of.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Bootish, well my man looked like he just got done
bail and, hay and he didn't look. Bad he just
had a black under armour. Hoodie he had some what
do you think he had some wrangler jeans. On wrangler
gotta be, Wrangler, yeah and had the cowboy boots on
or like cowboys slash working.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Boots.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Yeah and he looked like he had just got done
working outside on the farm and looked like modern farm
is what he looked. Like if if it was real,
cold you put a car heart jacket on that. Man
and there's no ifsands or ifs about. It it's a
sheer fact that he had just come off of the,
farm you, know picking, apples bail and, hay taking care

(20:41):
of cattle. Whatever that's What fitty looked like, today and.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
It could not be further from the.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
Truth that's the scary part is that he is the
one of the laziest human beings out. THERE i can't
say anything Because i'm in the same, category but my, god.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
All this to, Say king of The Marlon militia writes
In Leave Him, Alone he didn't look.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Bad what did we say that was? Offensive we were
just pointing out it's a different look for.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Him he didn't look. Bad, no it looked entirely. Appropriate
he looked like he belonged in that. Outfit it was
just SOMETHING i didn't expect to see because usually it's the,
polo it's the. Shorts that's what he likes to do
when he goes out and about and explores in The Queen.
CITY i asked the question about the amount of targets
Heading tmac's.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Way what that.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Meant does it just mean that they're trying to bring
him up to, speed or does it mean that it's
going to look like this once we'd see week, One
week two and so on once we get to the regular.
Season brian texted us and, SAID i leaned towards they're
just really trying to GET tamac up to. Speed bryce
has shown us that he takes what's given to him
and shouldn't force feed a particular player something he learned

(21:46):
after The Deontay johnson. FIASCO i think you're probably right
in that maybe it's a tiny bit of. BOTH i
do think they're trying to give T mac their top
ten wide receiver a lot of looks early on because
he is an important part of this wide receiver. Room
he is the guy that is selected with that valuable.

(22:06):
Resource when you select, him we all of a sudden
flip our opinions about this wide receiver room. Too, well
we could use some work. Here maybe they're still looking
for the. Guy once you select, him it completely flips
TO i love our wide receiver. Room it's the deepest
it's been in quite some.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Time he is the.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Guy he is the latest move to make you feel that.
Way Hunter renfro helps. You but nobody has a higher
ceiling on this. Team in my, opinion then T. Mac
unless you really thought highly of Xavierly. Get if you,
no you can't LIKE i think highly of Le. GET
i think this could be a breakout season for. Him
he does not have a ceiling as high as T.

(22:47):
MAC T mac is a dude that was drafted in
the top ten for a. Reason and if you Love Jalen,
coker Which wes is a Big Jaalen coker, guy maybe
you Think coker can have a higher. Ceiling all that to,
SAY i do think If i'm going to bet that
he leads the team in, Targets i'm going to say
that that would be my.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Projection, YEAH i would think.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
SO i, MEAN i still think that comfortability with thelan
is going to be there early in the. Season BUT
i think as we go throughout the, year you're going
to See ted get more involved Or Team mac get more.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
INVOLVED i keep calling Him.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Ted by the, way what's happening with T mac Slash tetsuoa.
McMillan i think it's okay if we call him T
mac because we've already done this four years, ago five
years ago when The hornet's Drafted LaMelo ball that people
called Him. Mellow now everybody's totally fine with. It we
have these nostalgia sports consumers of the early two thousands

(23:40):
telling us, that, hey there's only one t Ma.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
AC i get.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
It we can have multiple nicknames, here it's not like
it is the most unique nickname in the. World right we.
Can we can call McMillan t. Mac you don't like
to be called, Tet i'm gonna respect. It i'm not
going to be one of these. DUDES i want to
call You, Ted So i'm gonna call You. Ted, okay
good for, You. Awesome i'm not trying to be a.
Fact i'm not trying to offend.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Him you, KNOW i know you.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
WEREN'T i know lots of people feel that. Way there's
only one Team. Ac don't call him Tam. Mac, okay
don't call him Tamac if you don't want, To i'll do,
it and everybody's gonna be just.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Fine everybody's gonna be. Okay THEN i call him that.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
Nickname seven oh four, five seven ninety six Ten bagel
guy riding IN Xl news question. MARK i thought had
a decent day. TODAY i thought he was.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
FINE i thought he created some. SEPARATION i think there
were times where he was open where the play wasn't
necessarily supposed to go his. Way bryce wasn't looking his.
Way but then he did have a touchdown in seven
On seven's a really nice one where he ends up
getting himself. OPEN i think he had a fine day for,
himself AND i mean he didn't get a ton of,

(24:45):
targets a lot of Stuff tmacs, way as we talked,
about you, know dadam feeling got a decent amount of
targets as, well kind of what you would. EXPECT i
think Xavierly get going into the season is probably your
third wide receiver in terms of the number of tur
that he's going to. Receive so on a daylight, today
he might not necessarily be getting a lot of. Targets
But i'll tell you the few targets that he did,

(25:08):
get he hauled the ball. In he did a really
good job catching the ball with his, hands didn't drop.
It SO i think for For xavier successful.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Day speaking of you MENTIONING xl being that third wide,
RECEIVER i would agree with you in terms of, targets.
McMillan just to get to the unofficial depth, Chart, okay
McMillan is listed as your TOP x. Guy Adam thielen
is your next on the. List Xavierly get is. Third
those are your top three wide receivers according to The

(25:36):
panthers first Unofficial it's important to say that first unofficial
depth chart that they released just, yesterday and they hinted
that out today by the, way to everybody in, attendance
and we got to see how they were going to
look going against The Cleveland browns. Defense so it's, McMillan It's,
theelin and it's Xavierly get as your top. Three then
It's David moore right behind, McMillan It's Hunter renfro right Behind,

(26:01):
theeelin and It's cocher right behind Lee. Get so that's
how the wide receivers are shaping up at this. POINT
i think the TAKEAWAYS i would have is McMillan as
your top, guy not, surprising top ten pick is a,
rookie not, Surprising Jalen coker being Behind excel even If
coker had the better. Year leget is your first round.

(26:24):
Pick don't know if that necessarily Means coker is Behind
leget in that spot or if it just means That
coker is a backup and he's the fourth wide. Receiver
But coker is not listed as a, starter AND i
could have seen.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
Him he was not with the starters On friday Or
saturday either with Fan, fest so and he hasn't been
and that's now he. Did he was with them during
seven on. Sevens bryce was throwing to, him so he
got out there a little. Bit so we're gonna see.
HIM i wouldn't overreact to, this but the, thought like
the thought From, wes that he's going to be wide receiver,

(26:59):
TWO i think he would have to take a major
jump in terms of where he is right now on
this depth. Chart i'm not saying he's playing, bad BUT
i just don't know if he's gonna get that.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
Opportunity David moore being in the top, five top, SIX
i should, say is also somewhat.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Noteworthy he's gonna make this. ROSTER i really think he.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
Is Hunter renfro also a part of the top. Six
are you shocked that he's Over Jimmy horn in the?
Slot that was gonna be my. Question, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah,
no you're. GOOD i just Said Jimmy horn is outside
of the top, six and SO i think next that's
the question because we didn't See Jimmy horn involved at
all in seven on seven's. Today we didn't see him

(27:41):
at least with the, starters. RIGHT i don't think he
was out there With. Andy did he get some targets
With DALTON i didn't see. It he had one.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
TARGET i don't remember who it was, from AND i
don't did he catch.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
It something.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
Happened if it was a, catch it was a very short.
Catch and then he get into a little scrap with
A brown's. Corner but that was really. It man didn't see.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Much else from.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Him, yeah we saw special TEAMS i believe out there
For jimmy and other than, that he was on the.
Outside and SO i guess when it comes down to
the wide, receivers it's who's gonna be your top? Three
Does Jalen coker sneak in there on the last deep
chart release before we play game one of the regular,
season So coker. LEAGUET i think that's an interesting battle
just to see for that third spot Because coker can

(28:22):
play outside and. Inside we saw it both last, Year
so what happens? There and then is It David moore
who makes the? ROSTER i feel good About Hunter renfro
and is all of This Jimmy horn hype just that
we saw the. Production he's had a good. CAMP i
don't think anybody is saying anything to the, contrary but

(28:42):
we do this with these speedy wide. Receivers it happens
every single. Year these speedy guys that look, fun they
are fun to. WATCH i, mean, god we can think
about quite a. Few i've talked about this, before just
receiver like receivers that have had a lot of hype
in camp don't end up making the. ROSTER i don't
think that's going to be the case For, HORN i really.

(29:04):
Don't it feels a little, different but it doesn't feel
so different THAT i can sit here and pound the
table and, say, yeah he's going to be a part
of the. Rotation he is one hundred percent going to
make this roster and be involved in the passing.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Game.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
YEAH i mean because if you read into what he's
what he is on special, TEAMS i mean he is
the fifth guy at kick returner and punt.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Returner.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
NOW i saw him out there fielding some punts. EARLY
i did not see him during kicking during the kickoff.
DRILLS i saw more Of David moore And Trevor Etn
SO i think those are probably the guys that are
looking at. There but maybe he factors in as a punt.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Returner not. Sure you.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
Can't that's the one thing you can't. Take the first
unofficial depth chart as, gospel but there certainly is something
noteworthy when you look on there and you, See, Okay
Jimmy horn is that seventh. Receiver Jimmy horn is the
fifth guy on the depth chart as a returner for
both kick and punt.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Return is he a guy that makes the?

Speaker 3 (30:03):
ROSTER i have no. Idea and then you've got the
guy that's, flashing AND i don't think he's gonna make the,
roster but could be a guy that stays on the
practice squad and could be considered to get called up
if there are. Injuries Bryson tremaine looking really good. Man
he made another catch today at the end of, practice
diving on the ground to catch A Jack plumber. Pass

(30:24):
he looked really good At, FanFest so we talked about
Jacolby george being that guy that could challenge some of
these guys at the back of the. Roster Bryceon tremaine
is the name to now a.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Lot of people asking good questions on The FanDuel text.
LINE i went to reward good questions Asked Indian. Trail steve,
says is there any trade value For Adam thlen Or
Hunter Renfro, youah, ABSOLUTELY i bet there's some trade value FOR.
THELAN thelan was in trade conversations last year at the
deadline When Kansas city was looking for. Somebody eventually they
just decided to go After DeAndre. Hopkins but kind of

(30:54):
fits the mold of WHAT thelan. Was AND i would SAY.
Thelan is he better Than hopkins right?

Speaker 2 (30:58):
Now think?

Speaker 1 (30:59):
So not the better, career But leland right NOW i
think is Better Hunter RENFRO i don't, know man like
THAT'S i think he's got to do something in the
regular season again before he he's got. Approved, yeah and be. Healthy,
brian And mississippi, says, Hey, kings what's Up? King with
how highly you're talking about the offense? TODAY i take
it the offensive line did well against The cleveland defensive. Line,

(31:21):
flounder you said they were good in pass, pro not
so much. RUN i thought they were really good in pass.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
Protection did not feel like there was a time Where
bryce was really under a ton of pressure and just
couldn't make a. THROW i did not think in the
running game they were really all that. GREAT i Thought
Rico daddle had a couple of nice, runs But schuba
really didn't do much when he was in, there and
they were handing the ball off to. Him same thing
With etn when he was behind the second team. Line

(31:46):
SO i think that was really where The cleveland defensive
line showed up and showed out was in the run.
Defense BUT i thought for the most, part you, know
pass pro, Wise carolina looked pretty good and that's a big,
step especially for guy Like. Ikey SOMEONE i think it
was the bagel guy was asking what About ikey Versus Miles.
Garrett NOW i did not see the one on one

(32:08):
trench drills that they were going through where you, Know
panthers offensive line matches up against the defensive line of The.
Browns but in eleven on ELEVEN i did not Notice
ikey getting blown.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
By SO i think that's a.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Positive And Dave canal has told us that the offensive
line has quote excelled end quote in training camp so.
Far last couple, things it's regarding the same topic on
the text line fan Guy dave SAYS i was raked
across The cols yesterday saying On Twitter Jimmy horn has
to earn a roster. Spot everyone is basing a couple
of weeks and saying he quote unquote deserves a spot

(32:41):
over who is his? Point but then Here's bicycle heard
writing in why would they punt On jimmy to Keep David?
MOORE i Doubt jimmy would stay on the practice. Squad
that's ultimately what it comes down. TO i Think Hunter,
renfro with the way that he's been, performing the way
that Jac horn talks about him everybody, ELSE i Think
Hunter renfro is going to make this. Roster, especially it's
easy to go On Pro Football reference see That Hunter

(33:03):
renfro has already had one thousand yard season and talk
yourself into he looks close to that. Guy let's go
ahead and keep him as our fifth wide. Receiver jimmy
just looks, fast and a lot of these drills where
he's playing with the, twos a lot of the production
comes against corners that might not make the. Roster, plus
we see this sort of. Thing it's got to be
a special teams. THING i don't Want Jimmy horn to

(33:26):
get cut in exchange For David. Moore but If Bicycle
hurt is asking why would you do, It it's. Simple
you have familiarity and experience With David moore And Dave,
canalis that's his, guy straight. Up it happens in every
single line of. Work David moore Is Dave canalis's, guy
and we saw him as a Special teams contributor. Before

(33:46):
we saw him do some nice things in the offensive
scheme last. Year had some drops last year that were pretty.
Key but that would be your reason why good figures.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
The other night.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
Too so that's another, Thing David, moore when you're asking
him to step up and show so far this, preseason
he's done.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
It you're ready For Mark spain real estate sports. Flash
let's do. It, okay let's hit. It here's your sports
flash for the.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
Day all.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Right and THE espn made it official earlier this morning
when they, announced or actually late last, night when they
announced THAT espn is getting THE Nfl network and rights
to The Red zone FROM nfl from THE nfl for equity.
Stake and SO espn is acquiring everything from THE nfl,

(34:31):
network including the very Popular Red zone, channel in a
deal which THE nfl will get a ten percent equity
state in all sports. Networks it was Announced tuesday. Night
this means they are going to acquire THE nfl the
NFL's fantasy stuff as, Well SO i don't know if
there we're still going to have THE nfl Dot Com
fantasy or if we're all going to be playing BASICALLY

(34:54):
Espn fantasy. Football and also he did announce on social,
Media Scott, Hansen he's.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Back it's, back, Baby it's.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Great it's great to Hear Scott hansen telling us that
he will be Hosting Red zone again this, year WHICH
i think we all, anticipated but to see the confirmation,
there it is nice for all of us crazy football
degenerates That Scott hanson not going to take a pee
break for about seven eight hours and he's going to
be with us every step of the way anytime a
team reaches the red. Zone Great, Mark spain Real Estate

(35:23):
Sports flash from. Floundg we have plenty More panthers updates
to get. To it's a full hour Of Panthers brown's
joint practice updates coming up To we're going to finish
up the first. Hour Sports radio ninety two to SEVEN

to dive Into South carolina. TEAMS i think maybe do
we go Game, cocks Then, clemson Then charlotte app. COMBINED
i think where it's the rest, close already. Close we're that. Close,
Yeah so we'll finish THE ecu next. WEEK i believe
we Have South. Carolina there you Go stanford p and
then the week after that It's clemson and then we

(36:40):
finish Up charlotte App.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
State by the, Way i'm jones for.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
It for those that are hoping to attend The charlotte
App state game At bank Of America Stadium august twenty
ninth at seven. Pm tickets just went on sale, yesterday
especially For charlotte forty nine er, Fans so go TO
i believe It's charlotte forty nine ers dot if you want,
TO i think it's dot eve. N you eat not

(37:03):
revenue but revenue dot. COM i think that's WHAT i typed.
IN i know it's. WEIRD i think that's WHAT i
typed in in order to get me to the actual
site where it's all. Easy from, there you can just
click on the section you want to sit. In i'll
be up there in the club, level seats three thirty
six is Where i'll be For bank Of america this,
year and founders making fun of me for being pinky.

(37:26):
Out this Is charlotte generated, baby, Like i'm going to
be among my. People and so we have a section
reserved for forty nine er fans and alum in three thirty.
Six and THEN i think there's also one like closer
to the lower, level and those tickets are actually more.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Expensive so, oh so you're sitting up. Tops so, YEAH
i don't MEAN i take back the. PINK i do
not you you put your pinky, down? Sir you do
you you? Bite don't you bite your pinky at. Me
i'm starting to quottion.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
Sitting up high at GAMES i really do for. FOOTBALL
i think it Gives. YEAH i thought about this question.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
YESTERDAY i don't, Well i've talked About bank Of America
stadium specifically.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
BEFORE i don't know IF i could say that there's a.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
Real bad seat in the house over The boa, right
and WHICH i, love AND i think for the most
PART i tested that out in The fandle text line
waters and for the most part it was pretty well.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
RECEIVED i don't think many people pushed back on.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
That if you go see A panthers, game you go
see any game At, boa not really a bad, seat
SO i don't mind. IT i think it was seventy five.
Bucks seventy five bucks for a ticket up there in
section three thirty six For charlotte forty nine ers, alum
and it's more if you are not getting that link
and you're not a fan of the forty at LEAST

(38:41):
i got just The niner alum. Link so if anyways
tickets went on, sale go check it. Out if you're
hoping to attend on an official depth chart, CONVERSATION i
still want to calm through some of these decisions made
by The.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
PANTHERS i think the next thing to take note of
here got to go to the.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Secondary you See Nick scott first string free, safety and
you see That Corey, thornton the guy that has been
celebrated as much as any corner or really any defensive
player on this team at this point in. Camp Corey
thornton actually listed as the fourth string. Cornerback that's, right not,
third not back, up but listed as fourth. String so you,
have of COURSE. J. C horn And Mike jackson as

(39:20):
your top two. Guys and then right after that you
can go To Shaw Smith, wade who's there right Behind?
Horn you look at who is Behind Mike. Jackson i'm
still trying to find it real quickly At Caleb evans
is listed? There Who Michael reid behind The Caleb evans
and then and then you see Even Jetravis, Broughton Corey,

(39:41):
Thornton Trevion thomas all Behind Shamar. Bartholomew The Corey thornton
thing is. Interesting, yes been balling out and this WAS
i think the biggest reason for your large. Outburst as
soon as you saw the depth. Chart what are your
thoughts On Corey thorton being so far down the?

Speaker 2 (39:57):
List, YEAH i don't.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
Really understand, it to be honest with, you because this
is the second straight preseason now that we have watched
camp we have, Thought, okay the staff loves a, guy
and then when you get the official deputy unofficial depth,
chart we're sitting there, like wait a, second you guys
really don't like him nearly as much as you think

(40:19):
as we think you, do or we think you.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Should NOW i could just be reading into this too.

Speaker 3 (40:24):
Much it is the first unofficial depth, chart but the
fact That Michael reid is over, Him i'm, sorry no
offense To. Michael who the hell are? YOU i don't
even know who you?

Speaker 2 (40:34):
Are, YEAH i.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
Don't we haven't even seen you out, there Right and
At Caleb, Evans, Dude Caleb evans is one of those
guys That Mike kay said is stock. Down he was
not great At. FanFest Corey thornton was great At. FanFest
how in the world do you have a guy that
is locked up with the number one receiver on your
team for most of the night because Jac horn did

(40:58):
not practice At FanFest and he is a four stringer
on your unofficial depth?

Speaker 2 (41:02):
Chart does it make sense to?

Speaker 1 (41:04):
Me i'm trying to draw back on past experiences around
this time every single, Year august, sixth twenty twenty. Four
what Does august, sixth twenty twenty three look? Like and vice,
versa LIKE i or and so on and so. FORTH
i should SAY i just have never put too much
stock into the first unofficial depth. CHART i don't remember
it ever having a true bearing on what we're going

(41:26):
to see out there on the football field come week. One,
ultimately what it comes down to is we get to
the last released depth, chart we get to cut, day
and then you can really start taking away some, stuff
because that's the only time when it's truly, official, Right
that's when we can start to take away some of this.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
STUFF i we can try to project all we want.
TO i don't know if any of this as.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
GAMESMANSHIP i don't know if they're trying to Keep Corey
thornton down the list as much as possible because.

Speaker 2 (41:56):
Other teams are looking into.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
IT i, REMEMBER i actually think there was a little
bit of gamesmanship with the Whole Jalen coker. Situation i'd
love to Ask Dan morgan if if there was ever
a time where there weren't more pressing present questions to Ask.
Dan one Thing i'd love to know from him is
did you Handle Jalen coker last year the way you
did on? Purpose because remember they made their first wave of.

(42:20):
Cuts Jalen coker makes the fifty three man initially the
very next day after everybody puts their waiver claim, in
then they Released Jalen coker AND i think when they did,
that there was some level of. Hope this is all,
speculation BUT i think there was some level of hope
by The panthers that now that everybody put their waiver claims,
in they had their first wave of guys that they really.

(42:42):
Wanted so after they did, that then we'll Release. Coker
he still has to clear, waivers but maybe it's just
everybody went and got their. Guys now they're not going
to release the dudes that they just picked, up So
coker is still going to be free to be on
the practice. Squad that's ultimately what, happened and thank god
because now we All panther fans believe That cocher is

(43:04):
a bright part of the future here In. CAROLINA i
wonder if there's any any of that sort of thing
With Corey thornton being so far down the list here could.

Speaker 3 (43:12):
Be, YEAH i think his is not the most egregious
the one to, me and MAYBE i just am overreacting to. This.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
Man Nick scott can't be your starter in the first
game of the.

Speaker 3 (43:26):
SEASON i, mean we saw him the other night At
FanFest take a horrendous angle to try to make a
tackle On xavier leaguet leads to a. TOUCHDOWN i don't
think it's a coincidence that today no J. C horn out,
There Nick, scott as you're starting safety and teams are
beating you. Deep SO i, mean come, On Lathan, Ransom Demani,

(43:47):
richardson somebody step up to.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
ME i think you can read more into.

Speaker 3 (43:51):
THIS i do think that the starters are something that
you can read, into even with the first unofficial depth.
Chart AND i think there's a legitimate chance That Tick
scott starts the season for The panthers as they're starting free,
safety which scares the hell out of.

Speaker 1 (44:05):
Me looks like they're taking care of the. Veterans colin
mentioned that as, Well but looks like they're taking care
of the veterans to some. Degree and at, SAFETY i
do think there's a larger possibility that they might just
have a rotation. There maybe you Have Nick, Scott Demighti,
Richardson Lathan, ransom depending on what look you want to
give the offense. Whatever their strong suits are different situational,

(44:27):
football the third and long. WHATEVER i don't know how
much continuity or getting a rhythm at safety. Matters that's
just SOMETHING i don't know. About but a rotation at.
Safety that would make sense to me if nobody is
just outright Saying i'm by far the best at pretty
much everything at the free safety. Spot so if nobody's doing,
that then maybe all of them split the snaps and

(44:50):
then somebody wins in the regular season more so than
somebody wins in training.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
Camp all, Right CAMPUS.

Speaker 1 (44:55):
Kna coming up, next we talk a little college FOOTBALL
ecu team, week we break down the twenty twenty five Defensive.

Speaker 2 (45:00):
Unit Sports radio ninety two to SEVEN.

Speaker 1 (45:02):
