Michael is a Lecturer in Aboriginal Allied Health within the Department of Rural Health. His teaching focuses on enhancing the cultural capabilities of Nursing and Allied Health students, with research exploring the cultural benefits of engaging with bush foods and traditional knowledge.
With a background in rural and remote health, higher education, and nutrition and food sciences, Michael is passionate about developing Aboriginal health curricula and creating placement opportunities in Aboriginal health settings.
Michael serves as Chair of the Aboriginal Strategy Group, working across the Allied Health and Human Performance and Clinical Health Sciences academic units to advance Aboriginal health initiatives and strategies.
