Raised in a small suburb in Chhattisgarh, a state in Central India, Shana made her way to New York at the age of eight years old. After pursuing a law degree out of respect for her parent's sacrifices, Shana would return to her parent’s homeland at the age of 35 to find herself and her passion in life. It was there that she found her passion for creating sustainable jewelry that is affordable, beautiful and gives back to her home community.
Upon returning home, she decided to start Shana Gulati Jewelry. Each of Shana’s pieces draw inspiration from the beauty, lifestyle, and culture of her native India and current home of New York City.
Listen and get inspired by Shana Gulati's awespiring journey from being a lawyer to a jewelry designer as she chats with Sister Dr. Jenna on this episode of Where East Meets West
