We talk everything from teaching grade schoolers the music from KPop Demon Hunters to the voucher school system with La Crosse Education Association (LEA) president Jill Schams.
She stopped in studio last week, ahead of teachers returning to the classrooms. We chatted a bit about the LEA’s relationship with the school board, before having a fun conversation about music — as Schams is a K-5 music teacher at Southern Bluffs.
After that, we discussed the voucher school system and how private schools are held to a different, lesser standard than public schools, despite taking taxpayer dollars.
Taxpayers in the La Crosse School District pay about $2.3 million to the voucher school system.
