Back in 2007 there was this thing called the Global Financial Crisis – you might have heard of it. It had a massive impact on the lives of many young people who were at the very beginning of their working lives, and we didn’t really understand the full scale of that impact until years later.
In this episode, with my guest Jan Owen AM, we unpick what we learned from the GFC and discuss how it may foreground the effects of the pandemic on the careers of young people. But it’s not all doom and gloom. We also discuss the positives of the ‘pandemic reset’ and how there are many upsides about graduating into a world of employment in which hybrid working is the new normal, and people are renegotiating whether they want work to be the dominant driver of their lives.
