Speaker 1 (00:05):
Approche production. Hi, I'm Jennifer CRAI. Welcome to your evening mantra.
If it's safe to do so, close your eyes or
lower your gaze. Relax your eyes, relax your ears, reluxure jaw,

(00:37):
relax your shoulders down, and bring your attention to your breath,
drawing your breath to the point between your eyebrows. Forgiveness
is easier when time has passed, wounds are old, or

(01:05):
the wrongdoing is light in nature. When the hurt is fresh, deep,
or recurring, forgiveness is more difficult. The energy tied up
in the hurt still longs to be freed, and you

(01:31):
still deserve peace and calm if you're open to it.
Bring to mind someone who is difficult to forgive. Place

(01:52):
the image of this person inside of a circle and
bring the vision as close to you as feels comfortable.
Imagine the connections the chords between you. Observe the condition

(02:16):
of the cords. Are they thick thin combination? Are the
single branched or heavily branched? Are they disintegrating, diseased? Consider

(02:44):
if there's any cords worth saving. Understand that we are
all doing our best with what we have. As say
this person's name in your mind, and then say, for

(03:06):
the hurt you have cost, either with intent or by accident,
I forgive you. I release you. Now begin cutting. Cut
the cords which are dead or decaying, Cut the cords

(03:31):
that suck too much energy. Cut all the cords if
it feels like the right thing to do. Sometimes relationships
can do with a hard pruning. Notice the circle moving
away from you as you cut, the person disappearing into

(03:58):
the distance. Releasing allow energy and light to flow back
into the rapidly emptying space, freeing you into peace and calm.

(04:20):
To Day's mantra, I can forgive when it's difficult to
do so. Repeat to yourself, either out loud or in
your mind. I can forgive when it's difficult to do so.

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
